It's moments like 3:58 where you really get to flex your eye as a street photographer. Every split second that passes contains hundreds of potential photographs. None of them are right or wrong... just a different story. What a freaking killer opportunity.
Truly the magic of shooting film. You get to capture a moment, one moment, not 100s per second
Yeah, and as I saw him just cranking those rolls my mind went "Alright! That's good money". If it was me I'd say " That's enough film shoot for today. Time to eat ramen for the next couple of months"

@@nougatpersonal makes the pictures less special for me. When I decided on the best out of the 3000 pictures I wouldn't be proud of me, but my killer camera. But thats just me, in the end you're the one with the better picture

I have a question regarding that movement? is it to check the zone focus or just a way for the subject to think that he was not taking the subject (photo)
@@ANRALOGI I guess it’s latter. Street photographers like Joe master their Leica to zone focus like muscle memories, especially with the tab on Leica lenses. And I saw Joe using Portra800 with 28mm lens, if he stopped down the aperture like f8, f11, the depth of field would be insanely wide.
@@ANRALOGI It's for reading the light hitting skin for exposing during hard light but you also can use it for distracting people. They (supposedly) will think you are just checking something about your camera and not taking pictures.
@@TENGUJAPON why only during hard light ? Can't you use is at anytime of the day ?
This video alone taught me how vital speed can be to good street photography. You take too much time to look and compose, everyone notices and the moment's gone. Props Joe!

Those images look great! Nashville looks like a fun city. I love in a city a little bigger than Nashville but there nothing ever ever ever going on. On any given day you'll really only see a few people waiting on the city bus. Quite sad cause at one point in time it was called the insurance capital of the world.
When you meter off your hand, are you adjusting shutter speed or aperture? You really froze motion. What's the best/minimal SS to freeze people walking? Thanks.

it's to meter light, the sun is behind him so i'm assuming he's just getting a light reading
