    The Ed Sullivan Show was a television variety program that aired on CBS from 1948-1971. For 23 years it aired every Sunday night and played host to the world's greatest talents. The Ed Sullivan Show is well known for bringing rock n' roll music to the forefront of American culture through acts like Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and The Rolling Stones. The entertainers each week ranged from comedians like Joan Rivers and Rodney Dangerfield, to Broadway stars Julie Andrews and Richard Burton, to pop singers such as Bobby Darin and Petula Clark. It also frequently featured stars of Motown such as The Supremes, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder and The Jackson 5. The Ed Sullivan Show was one of the only places on American television where such a wide variety of popular culture was showcased and its legacy lives on to this day.

Remembering watching the Ed Sullivan Show and so excited when he had black artists on, in 7th heaven when Soul Train hit the airwaves on Saturdays. Super Job Otis Williams!
    The Temps are still one of the most imitated groups that made music for every occasion. Great natural individual talents came together to form super harmonies from the high to low vocal range that collided together. I remember when Dennis Edwards was a guest on a Christian network and the host asked about his early experiences in music and his early days with Motown and The Temptations. Dennis said Motown had experienced professional mentors that taught them how to behave. He said the Temps motto or code of ethics was something like this; the Temps were advices to;..
    1."Always THINK like a Temptation;
    2.Always ACT like a Temptation;
    3.Always DRESS like a Temptation;
    4.Always BE a Temptation"
    Even today this still solid advice for the young Christian; 1.Always Think like a Christian;
    2.Always Act like a Christian;
    3.Always Dress like a Christian;
    4.Always Be a Christian. Great video THANKS

      You missed out the most important piece of advice Dennis was given by Otis which was:
      5. Always REMEMBER, I own the copyright to the name, The Temptations.
      Dennis must have forgotten this advice (warning) because Otis sacked Dennis in 1977.

    FANTASTIC! The live harmonies, that live falsetto. THIS is singing. This is how you blend voices to create a wonderful sound. Such a pity they never got to sing it along with the Supremes. I know that "The Impossible Dream" was chosen to be released as a single and was featured as the closing number on their ground breaking TCB TV Special broadcast in December 1968. The show was taped earlier in the year and in the intervening period "Dream" was shelved in favour of "I'm Gonna Make You Love Me". It's the only single release that the Supremes never performed on TV. A lost opportunity!
