I can still remember riding the school bus home when this song came on the radio. I was about seven at the time. We were the last stop. As the bus driver opened the door to let us off the violin solo was just ending. I wasn't going to get off the bus until the song was over. I could see the drivers face in the mirror. I can still remember riding the school bus home when this song came on the radio. I was about seven at the time. We were the last stop. As the bus driver opened the door to let us off the violin solo was just ending. I wasn't going to get off the bus until the song was over. I could see the drivers face in the mirror. It was just him and I enjoying a great song together. He didn't say a word. As I walked off the bus he just smiled and said ''See ya tomorrow''.

The song was dedicated and played for us by the first cousin of John Mellencamp. Don made it special and it became "our song". I lost my wife to suicide in 2012 after 28 short, fast, wonderful, love-filled years together. It still brings a smile and warms my heart whenever I hear it to this day. It will always hold a special place in my heart alongside her, where she will always be. April will always be, my girl.
