"God"bless my husband in heaven forever!! So glad we had this music and each other when we did-My Girl ❤. The memories will forever be there.
My 7th grade music teacher introduced our class to this song and I still listen to it. I can't thank her enough for all the great artists she introduced us too
With this performance, Doo-Wop ended and the era of the Soul vocal group began. Group member Otis Williams took an important lesson from the Cadillacs' choreography: let the dance tell the song's story. The result is a performance that would define the Temptations, Motown's performance strategy, and vocal group performance for the next thirty years. It doesn't hurt that it is performed with absolute precision and feeling to one of the best Smokey Robinson songs ever. That's only one reason that the Temptations are legends.
Barry Gordy ripped off his artists, a very common practice then but he was a genius. One band played all the music ( the funk brothers), he had people write the songs so that he controlled all the royalties, and he had a team of dance choreographers, teachers on etiquette and how to give interviews. A lot of these artists came up poor but were extremely polished due to the Motown machine.
Absolutely unforgettable song ❤️ I'm Spanish and I'm 40, I've been all of my life listening to this masterpiece. It reminds me a lot of things that happened in life. It touches the heart and the soul. Perfect music 🌹
I saw these guys in concert in 1994. They were awesome, suported by the Four Tops, Marie Philips, Joe Tex, and the Sexolettes. What a show. Leivi Stubbs from the Four Tops that night showed just how much tallent can exist in a man. But the Temptations showed what Motown was all about.
Belíssima, eterna! Muita emoção quando ouço esse arranjo e essas vozes lindamente afinadas. Música de outro tempo, de beleza e magia. Anos e décadas passam e ela será sempre atual, porque música de qualidade jamais passará.
I am a disabled retiree and my two closest ‘people” in-able myself to live independently and provide love and support as my own children. I send this song to my friend Cristy because she is everything in this song to me.
This song came out when I was a teen and shot straight to number 1 on the Billboard Charts immediately. Stayed at number 1 for weeks. Even before they recorded it, the Temptations and Berry Gordy stated later on, that they knew it was going to be a number 1.
This was always my song for my younger daughter. Four years ago we almost lost her to anorexia. She is the strongest and most amazing young lady to battle this and today she graduated. I thank God for her. Playing this song tonight ❤
In 1996, they released a box collection of the Temptations, my 14 year old son wanted it. I bought it, I had actually forgotten how fabulous these guys were. They will always be the best.
This was played at my mums funeral and it is the song that I can see her face every time I hear it. To anyone who has the same connection I say listen and love them xx

Good for you, you have great taste. I'm thinking that you probably have a future in music. So good to see that young people can appreciate music from the golden era.
I'm 13 and addicted
Watch the movie. Temptations.
My favorite group growing in the '60s. Great vocals, harmony and positive, romantic message.
@@Andrew-j9p2d No, from 1965.
From 1965😮
My girl of the lyrics vocals and harmony 🎵🎵🎵💞
I think this was one of Paul’s greatest moments. They both did sang with such heart. Thank you for sharing this with us.
I was born in 1953, grew up with all the best of music! From Bluegrass, to Soul, to Rock-n-Roll! I saw so many concerts, todays kids will never see! I saw the Bee Gees when all were still alive! 4 rows from the front! I treasure my memories!
1:46 - 1:53 that violin chord sequence - goosebumps. Magic song for all time.
Heaven must sound like that, I swear, something about that sound is so relaxing
That is so true! Theres just something other wordly about that part !!
agree so much
This song is so good that even my little granddaughters request it every time we’re in the car. Music like this transcends time.
You are raising them well!
You never know, that could be her favorite song from when she was alive during those times....
Reincarnation is not real. You go around the track once.
I just wrote a note here about how this song pops into my head whenever I'm with my granddaughter: "Sunshine on a cloudy day....."
@@LorettaMath This song travels through time! Still a wonderful song!
わぁ✨✨ 今聴いても素敵な曲😍❤️
色褪せないな😉👍
I played/sang this to my daughter when she was in the womb and continued when she was a newborn. She’s my everything. She’s my world. She’s MY GIRL! xxx

2021 and you still won't find a song with so much depth n levels as this...pure gold this right here
Eh that's a stretch. There are many, many songs that reach this level. If you dont think so, expand your listening.
I never get tired listening to this, i think its that guitar playing , ok, its the whole entire song!
Pure gold
Listening in 2022 already
Thank you Smokey Robinson for writing a great song.
I was born in the 60's great tunes. The late 70s 80'S 90's were the best. So many great memories. Still here August 2024!!!!
Still awesome to this day! Never get tired of hearing this song...just makes you smile!

Oh. Yes !
❤I Love 💕 this song,,, Makes me think that the man Who I have always Loved is singing to me
This is a real classic song. I heard it countless times over the radio in the 80s and 90s. Brings back many wonderful memories of those years
Mother's day was rough yesterday. My mom passed 5 years ago and this was one of her favorite songs. I come here to listen occasionally and it makes me 😃.
My heart goes out to you , I too lost my mum in 2019 ...as the old saying goes "a man's first love is his mum " never a truer word said .
Peace out ✌️

My grandfather would play this song to me every time I saw him. The last time I saw him we were in the hospital and sang it together one last time. Keep playing it for your granddaughter, it’s something she’ll never forget. ❤️

Very classy. Matching suits, choreographed dancing, and an awesome song. They don't make them like this anymore.
The song and the performance are pure perfection.
The talent, the music, the moves and the special person you fell in love with while having this music going on, never, ever went away. The memory and love for that very special person will be there forever!!! ❤ this music was great!!! "God"bless my husband in heaven forever!! So glad we had this music and each other when we did-My Girl ❤.
The memories will forever be there.
Love the song. I have sung it to my wife, my daughter, and my Grand daughters many times. Great song.
Best song ever. Gives me chills is so great
The choreography!! Love it...so cool, smooth & fun!!!
💓👌
Perfect music 🌹
me too the best memories
I saw these guys in concert in 1994. They were awesome, suported by the Four Tops, Marie Philips, Joe Tex, and the Sexolettes. What a show. Leivi Stubbs from the Four Tops that night showed just how much tallent can exist in a man. But the Temptations showed what Motown was all about.
We remember their songs because the words are crafted so beautifully and powerfully.
Takes me back to Marshall U days
The age of music , pure and simple 😎I'm glad I was around 👌
Belíssima, eterna! Muita emoção quando ouço esse arranjo e essas vozes lindamente afinadas. Música de outro tempo, de beleza e magia. Anos e décadas passam e ela será sempre atual, porque música de qualidade jamais passará.
I am a disabled retiree and my two closest ‘people” in-able myself to live independently and provide love and support as my own children. I send this song to my friend Cristy because she is everything in this song to me.
This SONG is simply THE BEST. You hear it & you automatically hear & see the Temptations. Awesome.
Love this song so much
This song came out when I was a teen and shot straight to number 1 on the Billboard Charts immediately.
Sooooo happy this was the music from my generation. So proud!! ❤️
❤❤❤😊
In my opinion. The best song The Temptations ever sang. That’s saying a lot!!!
I met one of your band mates. How gracious is Jesus Christ. Thank you for bringing beauty into this world of trouble. Lol you ROCK!
David Ruffin on lead vocals with such tight, silky backing harmonies will make this a classic song a century from now!
For a bestie friend, a wonderful daughter, a missed mum... perfect... Golden xxx ❤️❤️❤️
One of the most beautiful songs ever written, Smokey Robinson is a genius
The Temptations are so talented and the way they dance to the song is really amazing.
I think it was 1966 but don't quote me on that.
In 1996, they released a box collection of the Temptations, my 14 year old son wanted it. I bought it, I had actually forgotten how fabulous these guys were. They will always be the best.
Playing this station for my father and these songs bring back memories of his young years! He has no singing voice but MY GIRL gets him going! 🤩
Perfeitos. Tano na interpretação quanto na apresentação.👏
The Temptation Walk! with the best of the Temps singing it back in 1965! What a great time for music!
This song never ever gets old. My Grandkids love this song. Passing down the great music.
That’s right. We have to “introduce” this music to them.
An iconic and timeless classic song. Love it.
This was played at my mums funeral and it is the song that I can see her face every time I hear it. To anyone who has the same connection I say listen and love them xx
I grew up on Motown - I was 14yrs old- NOTHING BUT AWESOME- IM GLAD I WAS A PART OF THE CLASSIEST MUSIC IN HISTORY!
