As one who was within a few degrees of separation from Eddie, I want to give kudos to the authors for such a warm and substantial offering. Work of this accuracy and quality is rare. Quit your day jobs.
Rest in peace Eddie James Kendricks. You were always my favorite Temptation. You left us way to soon. Thank you for all of the great music you left us. I still listen to the Classic Temptations. You were one of the greatest. ❤
I think most people love Eddie, but I think singers appreciate him a little differently. His voice was a miracle. It's almost impossible to falsetto those kinds of notes and get the vocal tone and clarity he had. I've yet to see anyone come close. Fantastic video.
I recently watched a video of the Temptations singing "The Way You Do the Things You Do" on a TV show. Eddie looked like he was having the time of his life singing lead. Indeed his falsetto was one of a kind. Yet behind the smile, we never know what someone is truly going through. Thanks for your great work. Eddie Kendricks remains a legend who is deeply missed yet fondly remembered.
I love the original 5 Temptations. They have so many songs that were hits and not that I still come back to every year. They sing with soul, its rare to find these days.
The best falsetto singer the world has ever seen. I got close to him when I was in high school loved his voice but Eddie was a natural, God gave him a unique voice and it had ranges that would make you stop trying to copy him..........he is and was amazing. RIP.
I think I've watched the movie at least 200 times. It is just that good. It's crazy sad that he and Melvin both died at 52 yrs old and David at 50. Way too young.
Eddie Kendricks was the best Falsetto Singer. Loved to hear him sing Glad we were Grace with his music. RIP You are missed. Love you with The Temptations
Was such an attractive and talented man. So sorry he ended up so badly; I can hear his voice singing "You're My Everything" and "Keep On Truckin'" as I'm typing this!👍
I had the pleasure to meet Eddie Kendricks after a show and go backstage to his dressing room, my sister and I were starstruck, handsome and lawd could he sang! Wonderful experience and i shall never forget it. May he rest in Paradise 🙏🏿
I've loved him from childhood! I can't believe I'm learning this much about him on the anniversary of his passing at 3:30 a.m. Shoeshine Boy was one of my favorite songs by him. R.I.H. Eddie Kendricks.
I loved the temptations. I have everything they ever sung, from the beginning to the end. Out of ALL the temptations Eddie James Kendrick WAS and STILL is My Favorite. When I'm feeling down I put on I wish it would rain. And than I'm alright again ‼️ Rest in Paradise to each and every one of the Temptations ✝️💜❤️🙏🏾
Edward James Kendricks _ one of few elite skinny men singing falsetto that I really like; Anita spoke at his funeral, especially young. Love Eddie, Dennis & David's intonations; Keep on truckin', The way you do, Ball of confusion, I'm losing you _ my favs
I was only born 1985 so my parents & their siblings exposed me to the wonderful music of their time. It's now 2023 & I still absolutely love this music. So, ever since I was a little girl, I always favored the high pitch tones in any group. From The Temptations to the church choir. I world even sing soprano knowing I was actually an alto lol. So I naturally picked Eddie's voice out of the entire group. He was always my favorite. Not just because of his falsetto, but because he did it so beautifully. I was sad when my mom told me that most of The Temptations had passed away. But they will never be forgotten. Just as my parents played their music for me, I do the same with mine. And if I live to be a grandmother, I'll play it for them too. When they all wanna remember me when I'm gone, they can find me in this music.❤
I was just a young girl but I will always remember seeing The Temptations & Eddie Kendricks at the Uptown Theater in my old stomping ground North Philly. Talk about the good old days & good music. RIP Eddie, your music will forever bring back good memories! ❤️
He was the first adult man I had a crush on as a little girl. I used to get the Temptations album covers and just gaze at him. Appreciated that voice and talent from a wee girl….and thought he was so handsome. ❤❤❤
In bands, I patterned my voice after Eddie Kendricks and Smokey Robinson. I could sing falsetto very good, but the VERY HIGH notes and vibrato were unique to those 2 men. I could imitate, but I could never duplicate. RIP Eddie.
Just thru this doc I realized Eddie died the same day as my beloved nephew, but for 30 years apart. I know in my heart Mr. Kendrik met Con and escorted him, singing, thru those pearly gates. 2 remarkable guys; much loved...Blessings
You have said the TRUTH! Eddie had an ultimate falsetto. Blended wit the voices of the Temptations, their harmony was tight. On Marvin Gaye's Try It Baby, their background vocals added a significant flavor to the song, with Eddie's essence sealing the delivery. My favorite song of his is Cream Off The Top. His voice was golden. And, deserved other duties of display. Shame on the industry for letting a great talent sit idle. Thank God, he did come my way. He was great!
Fantastic video thanks so much. Your narrative skills are with out equal. By the way after Vietnam 70-71 I resumed my career as a professional drummer. In 73 I had the honor of backing the temptations at the Cincinnati jazz festival. Eddie and Paul were gone by then, but that weekend was the high point of my drumming career. To fill in for Mel Brown was honor. Your dignified demeanor is with out equal . You are the king of these videos.
He was musical "LEGEND" my favorite tune that he song as a Temptation will always be Your My Everything. this song just takes me to a world of fantasy of beautiful memories of the past. R.I.P Eddie.
Never before or since has there been anyone even close to Eddie I cried at his passing and worship him to this day. Good by Eddie, God rest this beautiful human being.
If Eddie had treated the cancer in the earliest stage when the doctor told him he needed to treat it, he would probably still be here today with Otis Williams. When Dennis stated the reason that Eddie didn’t want to go through chemotherapy, I was bewildered and I just couldn’t believe it. 🤦🏽♀️ Hair grows back Eddie, in fact it grows back even ticker than before the treatment! I think that if he had a wife, he would’ve made better decisions regarding his own wellness, and if he didn’t, she would’ve dragged him to have that damn cancer treated. Love and miss you forever Eddie! 🕊️🤍💕
I feel so bad for him he didn’t deserve any of this rest and peace Eddie and god and Jesus knows what pain you been through and he will always be remembered and he will always be the perfect temptation member forever.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🎼🎹🎼🎹🎼🎹🎼🎼🎹🎼🎹🎼🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️ and god and Jesus bless you.
I wish they gave Blue a few solo songs, but vocal groups always keep the bass singers in the background, so they are never able to have their full potential truly realized in group settings. I love the temptations always❤
There are no words to describe his one-of-a-kind voice. Life is hard even if you become famous. Let's not speak badly of him, please... Please... Pretty please.
We didn't know him personally and can only go by what others have said which could have been our of jealousy. Remember his gift from God and love him for what he left us, and always remember when we leave this earth someone is going to say all kind of things is. negative negative things about you.
What a great group. My father saw them back in 1965 in North Philly. He was 16 at the time, and said there were only ten white people there, but he didn't care, he was a fan of theirs.
As one who was within a few degrees of separation from Eddie, I want to give kudos to the authors for such a warm and substantial offering. Work of this accuracy and quality is rare. Quit your day jobs.
We appreciate the positive feedback 🙏
Glad you enjoyed it!
Magic voice
He will always be the best to me ☺️!!!¡!
Thanks for telling Eddie’s story. Love Eddie Kendricks
One degree of separation
Yes as you stated Eddie is and will always be THE GREATEST FALSETTO VOICE EVER!
Nope, that one Philip Bailey
He’s top 3 for sure. “You make me feel brand new” has to be in the top 3 falsetto voices
And that's a big "10/4"!❤
Not even close Eddie way more versatile then any other tenor, fallsetto, natural an back ground skills 😊😊😊😊@@ThatBoyCrank202
All of these other fallsetto are one demional 😢😢😢😢
That was a great bio. He will never ever be forgotten. Still listening to that beautiful voice in 2023❤
Listen in 2025
When he sings lead on "Just My Imagination." Sends chills up my spine because it was late loving Uncle's favorite song. RIP ❤
Is he your uncle?
No one else singing it sounds right to me.
He was the best Temptation.
I agree with you..still gives me the shivers.❤
My favourite song. Love it 🙏❤️❤️❤️

Eddie Kendricks WAS the Temptations back in the 60s when I was a teenager. Still is. You're My Everything. ❤❤❤
I recently watched a video of the Temptations singing "The Way You Do the Things You Do" on a TV show. Eddie looked like he was having the time of his life singing lead. That classic 5…Priceless❤
Eddie Kendricks' falsetto helped give the Temptations that unique sound. My favorite Temptation too
Even when he sang background his voice added a certain 'richness' and 'flavor' to the sound.
Wow he’s that perfect and he is my favorite and he is a trillion times perfect temptation member and forever❤ ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Agreed
I love the original 5 Temptations. They have so many songs that were hits and not that I still come back to every year. They sing with soul, its rare to find these days.
Just like you said, Eddie had the BEST falsetto that's EVER existed!!!!! ❤ Appreciate you for making this video. Rest in POWER, Eddie Kendricks 🙏🏽🕊💔
Papa was a Rolling Stone!
What a freaking bad ass jam. Heaven.
One of the best from the greatest r&b group ever
The best falsetto singer the world has ever seen. I got close to him when I was in high school loved his voice but Eddie was a natural, God gave him a unique voice and it had ranges that would make you stop trying to copy him..........he is and was amazing. RIP.
I think I've watched the movie at least 200 times. It is just that good. It's crazy sad that he and Melvin both died at 52 yrs old and David at 50. Way too young.
Eddie Kendricks probably was the first falsetto to really express his talent. But Phillip Bailey is on his heels.
Eddie Kendricks was the best Falsetto Singer. Loved to hear him sing Glad we were Grace with his music. RIP You are missed. Love you with The Temptations
He is very handsome omg 😰 black men back then was fine

Eddie was a good looking man even at 52. Unforgettable voice.

This the truth there will never be another group in history to TOUCH the TEMPTATIONS

I'll always love Kendricks great falsetto voice, Smokey was known for his lovely falsetto voice, before the Temptations were known.
Smokey is definitely not a falsetto singer nor was his replacement, Billy Griffin. Both were high first tenors (male sopranos).
I am, and has always been a big fan of The Temptations, and Eddie Kendricks. I love hearing their story, even if i am saddened by some of them,
No one has been able to emulate yet eddie is still in a class of his own rest in peace bro.
