I think the right decision was made not renaming the group David Ruffin & the Temptations. Not taking anything away from David, he was an extremely talented dude. But the Temptations were a group of very good voices. True David's talent was what was missing, but he joined a group that had outstanding vocal harmony and supporting vocals from Eddie, Paul and Melvin. They all made each other better. The proof being David's solo career, not the same without them.

I worked at this building in the late 1980's cleaning offices in the evenings, so I worked with this young lady for a few months. She did one part of the huge building and I did the other part, so one night we were just talking about life and a lot of things and don't remember how we got on this subject, but we started talking about the temptations for some reason, and she told me that Dennis Edwards was her father!! And Dennis was always my favorite singer in the group, so I was shocked!!!! I said to her for real?? He's your father girl?? She said yes...I'll show you my birth certificate tomorrow....I said ok. And when I took a look at her, she really did resemble him a lot. She brought it and yes it stated that he's the father😅. I never forgot that night, she told me a lot that night about her life with him. Yes, I'll always remember her working with me. She was very nice and funny as well.😂
