I was so lucky to see them again this year2024, in Orlando, Fla, Mick was just like he was all those years ago and the whole show presentation was spectacular!! So, we got the tickets, but, we had no ride to the concert in San Francisco. We convinced his parents to drive us, they got a room for all of us at the Wharf, dropped us off at Candlestick and told us to find our own way back to the Wharf. It, was an amazing concert. I met a girl on the bus back to the wharf, I bought some beer (ya, illegal, don't do it kiddos) and the whole evening was wonderful. Most of my friends have now passed, though my buddy is still around. I have seen the Stones several more times and I myself almost passed away. If I can ever find a way to bring my two adult children to a Stones concert, I am going to do it, you know, they are getting old.

I remember thinking the same thing in June 1975. The Stones played at Cleveland Municipal Stadium the day after 9th grade let out. A bunch of friends and I took the Rapid to Terminal Tower, which wasn't called Tower City back then. We walked to the Central Market where we were able to buy several cases of beer, and that day I grew up a bit. The World Series of Rock was quite a sight with 88,000 kids and young adults. In the end, it ended up costing me being grounded for the entire summer, but it was well worth it.

Then Paul McCartney because he's jealous they are still a band and the Beatles were never a band at all. Just a bunch of noise and subpar musical chops. The Beatles weren't anything special music wise. Most of what they played was already played in America, for decades before they arrived. The Stones and then Led Zeppelin are the 2 best bands in British music history. Followed by Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden.
I highly recommend Keith’s book. ‘ life’. Amazingly he remembers it all and the book is like Keith. Honest, funny, a bit dangerous and passionate about the music. His life is Rock and roll.
I was so fortunate to see them in FL during their Bridge to Babylon tour. The audience was multi-generational and Mick’s energy was off the charts!! They are incredible ❤
I turned 62 on April of this year. Of course, I still think it's 1979 and I'm still 17. Be that as it may, the fact that The Stones have been The Stones as long as I've walked this orb...is still beyond my capability to grasp 😎
I am 72 and The Rolling Stones have been a part of my life since I was 13 when I Can’t Get No Satisfaction came out! Damn, I’m old, they’re old and we’re all still rocking on from that era! It’s truly wonderful!❤
These guys are 🐐's of this music thing. What a journey and life they have lived through. It's astonishing how amazing they still are at performing live at their age. I re recently had the pleasure of finally seeing them for the first time ever. They are still better than most bands out there. Plus their love and enthusiasm for still wanting to do this is so awesome.
My wife and I went to nearly the whole tour. That is me at 54 - 55 seconds in to the video. We stayed at the same hotels as the band although it was insanely expensive. Great quality shows and we were on the rail at every one of them. It is SO difficult getting onto that rail. We bought the early entrance tickets and then got in line at 6 in the morning on show day. They didn’t come on until about nine in the evening, so it was a very long tiring day keeping our spot in line.

All the times I ever spoke with them over many many years, I was always left with the impression they had been honest and gave very interesting answers to questions. Let me qualify that by saying I avoided the usual pointless questions they were weary of hearing. Instead I asked questions about current, future, and prior tours was my last try if I got that far. To me it seemed obvious to ask about current things since that is what they were out on the road for, and what they were most likely to want to share. Also I made sure to ask each person I spoke to about something that was personal to them. If you show HONEST interest in someone, they can tell pretty quickly. I’ve seen others ask the dumbest things and you could see the person they were trying to talk to all ready moving on. My wife and I have seen Ronnie and his wife Sally at most every city where we were there for a show. We stay at their hotels (I know. Crazy expensive) and because they have the twin girls we frequently see them out and about. Both are friendly and Sally kindly does update photos with my wife and they get a quick chat in that is very current. Asking Sally about her swimming is a great way to break the ice. Lots of times we met them at the pool and it was a relaxed area and a hello and and a question was easy. We go out of our way to leave them alone if they are on family time. So many others do not and it’s easy to see why they can get frustrated. In fact we have been invited to come get a photo with them just because we had left them to their own and minded our own business. So that was rewarding and every time we see them it’s a chance to build on them knowing us. It helps that we are always on the rail at every show. Keith, Mick, and Ron remember seeing certain repeat people at every show, and in many countries. They know what it takes for us to make that happen. We had a good visit with Keith and his wife 9n Europe at the hotel. That was one of the most expensive, but it turned out to be worth it. My wife kept bumping into them at the elevator as we were on the same floor. My wife had carefully selected some gifts for them, so she told Patti she was going to get them and drop them off at their room right then. Their girls used some of the girts to make a funny video immediately and we saw it online. Keith and his wife sent a personal thank you and then checked with us later to make sure we got it. That was cool. But the best was that my wife gave them a red do - ray kind of head covering wrapped around one of the gifts and Keith had it in his back pocket at the next show and for the rest of the tour. That meant a lot because it was personal. I must also say the Richard kids were always outstanding to talk to, and so I became familiar to them and watched them grow up over the years and tours. I make my own t shirts and Theodora loves them. Every time she sees me she asks if we can do a photo together. We have done photos with all of them. Sometimes if I judged that the time and mood was right, I would ask a personal question about those in their family they were closest to. It was always prefaced with a way out for them if they didn’t want to talk about it, but you would be surprised how candid they would be. One time in Vancouver I was at the bar in the lounge of the hotel with Bobby Keys. His son was there with him as he was helping out on that tour. I asked the son what it had been like growing up with his dad so often gone from home. Wow, that got Bobby’s attention and he moved closer. You could tell his son knew it was an important moment, that he was going to be able to give his father some important feelings. So there was always plenty of things to ask about if you were considerate. It’s not always easy to ask about how they were doing with certain family members. For example: I was always successful in talking with Chuck Leavell and his wife Rose. I have so many great photos with both of them. Once Chuck asked me for a shirt that he saw I had made and was wearing. I got one for him but it was way too big! He held it up in a photo beside me and it was like Arnold Swartz’s and Danny Devito side by side. Somehow I started messaging with Rose. She was so friendly and we just seemed to hit it off. This went on for years. Then we noticed Rose wasn’t as lively as she normally was. Since then it’s obvious things have changed. But when we see Chuck now we carefully stay away from asking about his wife. That is their business and no one else’s. I think Chuck appreciates us sparing him. This tour we met him many times around the hotel and pool. He gave some advice to my wife about some land she has owned in her family for all her life WHEN she asked him to. Who knows more about tree management than Chuck? Lots of stories of meeting with all,of them over the years. Including Charlie who was friendly and a perfect gentleman. I managed a couple times to speak alone with him and give him one of my designed shirts in his size. He walked into a diamond merchant store and asked for a nice bag to put it in, honestly. I will never forget that. The most important lesson I learned was from early on to become familiar with their security people. Some have been with the Stones for a very long time. You don’t start out by trying to walk up to the Stones asking questions. But if you become friendly with those who look after them, and they feel ok that your not going to do anything rash, they will help you out getting to say hello, or pass on a gift you might have for them. We have gotten so much back from some of their people. Now when my wife and I are on the rail at the shows, the security guys that patrol that zone between the stage and that rail, when they come past us we get a smile and a fist bump. It’s something small, but it contributes greatly to being in a good relationship with them. So I’ve bored you enough for now, but I have years of stories that are similar.
So unusual that they seem to honestly enjoy each other after all these years. Besides the music, they have been in business together for a very, very long time. They are some lucky gents!
I remember when the Stones first burst on the scene (yes, I'm that old m'self). I was always Stones. Many of my friends were Beatles, but I was Stones and still am. They are just as compelling now as they were back then.
I'm born 1980 but was force fed by my dad as a kid with Rolling Stones. "Stones people are the fun people" he said. He actually met them somewhere around Europe back in the day when rock stars were accessible. He'd seen Easy Rider and bought a motorbike and took off into Europe like a Swedish Dennis Hopper and met them somewhere.😂 Anyway. I'm glad he taught me what my favourite band was suppose to be.
it's amazing that McCartney,Dylan, and The Stones, latest stuff is as good or better than anyone currently on the charts. Yet, not close to their prime.

I was allowed to check in early to a hotel suite that had just been vacated by Joe Walsh. Housekeeping was working to clean up what was apparently a hell of a fast food fight. Good clean fun and Rock and Roll!

Charlie was the most talented guy in the band - as a drummer. Not to hate on drummers. He was one of the best. John Bonham and Ian Paice also come to mind
Although I mostly stopped listening to the Stones many years ago I sometimes will listen to their older albums. I am glad though that they are so full of energy at 80 and on another tour and still friends who have stayed that way. I have never been to a Stones concert before.
They have been a part of my life long music journey for six decades. They are a constant joy and they truly are a good as ever. As Ron Wood said, Mick’s voice is as good as ever so why not flaunt. I got to see/heard them in concert which is a treasured memory ❤️❤️❤️ love them dearly.
They don't make them like this anymore. I love all kinds of contemporary stuff but remain in awe of these guys' longevity and the level at which they carry on. Great piece and great archival footage. As always, The Stones know how to manage their career, and the press!
Climbed into their last show in Berlin near Olympia stadium in the Forrest stage and it was from a whole mother planet. I saw Fleetwood Mack, Neil Young, Motörhead and a couple other legends.. but jagger is such a high flyer on stage. Their attitude and sound is just amazing. Kudos forever ❤
The Stones took the childhood dream of being in a band with your mates and having a hit record and made it a lifelong phenomenon. It’s a one of a kind human experience.

I saw them at Soldier Field in Chicago Illinois in 1976, I was 16 and drove from Monmouth Illinois which is about 4 hours out. I drove my 1969 Dodge Charger and had my driver's license only 3 months!!! I grew up that whole experience that two days!! Wild Horses couldn't drag me away, thanks mom and dad.
It amazes me with the amount of drugs snd debauchery of these guys they are still going strong. I think it speaks to how much doing what you love keeps you young at heart.❤
These guys bring a smile to your face when they sit down and talk together. A big factor in the reason that they're still making music is, as Ronnie Wood said, that Mick's voice has stood up to the ravages of time incredibly well, unlike many of his contemporaries. They 'll keep going until their last breath!

I have been a Rolling Stones fan from the age on 9, when my Sister gave me a Stones album for my Birthday, I first saw them live in 1975, as the years have gone by, I have seen them 54 times, in the States, Canada, and over the pond, they are the greatest Rock-n-Roll band in the World.

You could tell his son knew it was an important moment, that he was going to be able to give his father some important feelings. So there was always plenty of things to ask about if you were considerate. It’s not always easy to ask about how they were doing with certain family members. For example: I was always successful in talking with Chuck Leavell and his wife Rose. I have so many great photos with both of them. Once Chuck asked me for a shirt that he saw I had made and was wearing. I got one for him but it was way too big! He held it up in a photo beside me and it was like Arnold Swartz’s and Danny Devito side by side. Somehow I started messaging with Rose. She was so friendly and we just seemed to hit it off. This went on for years. Then we noticed Rose wasn’t as lively as she normally was. Since then it’s obvious things have changed. But when we see Chuck now we carefully stay away from asking about his wife. That is their business and no one else’s. I think Chuck appreciates us sparing him. This tour we met him many times around the hotel and pool. He gave some advice to my wife about some land she has owned in her family for all her life WHEN she asked him to. Who knows more about tree management than Chuck? Lots of stories of meeting with all,of them over the years. Including Charlie who was friendly and a perfect gentleman. I managed a couple times to speak alone with him and give him one of my designed shirts in his size. He walked into a diamond merchant store and asked for a nice bag to put it in, honestly. I will never forget that. The most important lesson I learned was from early on to become familiar with their security people. Some have been with the Stones for a very long time. You don’t start out by trying to walk up to the Stones asking questions. But if you become friendly with those who look after them, and they feel ok that your not going to do anything rash, they will help you out getting to say hello, or pass on a gift you might have for them. We have gotten so much back from some of their people. Now when my wife and I are on the rail at the shows, the security guys that patrol that zone between the stage and that rail, when they come past us we get a smile and a fist bump. It’s something small, but it contributes greatly to being in a good relationship with them. So I’ve bored you enough for now, but I have years of stories that are similar.
So unusual that they seem to honestly enjoy each other after all these years. Besides the music, they have been in business together for a very, very long time. They are some lucky gents!
I remember when the Stones first burst on the scene (yes, I'm that old m'self). I was always Stones. Many of my friends were Beatles, but I was Stones and still am. They are just as compelling now as they were back then.
Where did you stand on the whole made up Stones versus Who thing? I wore out my ears on them both.
I'm born 1980 but was force fed by my dad as a kid with Rolling Stones. "Stones people are the fun people" he said. He actually met them somewhere around Europe back in the day when rock stars were accessible. He'd seen Easy Rider and bought a motorbike and took off into Europe like a Swedish Dennis Hopper and met them somewhere.😂 Anyway. I'm glad he taught me what my favourite band was suppose to be.

I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing when All over now first hit the airwaves. (63-64) I was a fan from that first listen.

Charlie was the most talented guy in the band - as a drummer. Not to hate on drummers. He was one of the best. John Bonham and Ian Paice also come to mind
Although I mostly stopped listening to the Stones many years ago I sometimes will listen to their older albums. I am glad though that they are so full of energy at 80 and on another tour and still friends who have stayed that way. I have never been to a Stones concert before.
Im glad my grandkids will see these guys live when they play their centennial concert.
They have been a part of my life long music journey for six decades. They are a constant joy and they truly are a good as ever. As Ron Wood said, Mick’s voice is as good as ever so why not flaunt.

They don't make them like this anymore. I love all kinds of contemporary stuff but remain in awe of these guys' longevity and the level at which they carry on. Great piece and great archival footage. As always, The Stones know how to manage their career, and the press!
Climbed into their last show in Berlin near Olympia stadium in the Forrest stage and it was from a whole mother planet. I saw Fleetwood Mack, Neil Young, Motörhead and a couple other legends.. but jagger is such a high flyer on stage. Their attitude and sound is just amazing. Kudos forever ❤

Let's not forget the amazing Brian Jones, who helped create The Rolling Stones. These guys have been around for ages and have rubbed shoulders with many legends. It has been such an incredible journey!

I saw them at Soldier Field in Chicago Illinois in 1976, I was 16 and drove from Monmouth Illinois which is about 4 hours out. I drove my 1969 Dodge Charger and had my driver's license only 3 months!!! I grew up that whole experience that two days!! Wild Horses couldn't drag me away, thanks mom and dad.
It amazes me with the amount of drugs snd debauchery of these guys they are still going strong. I think it speaks to how much doing what you love keeps you young at heart.❤

These guys bring a smile to your face when they sit down and talk together. A big factor in the reason that they're still making music is, as Ronnie Wood said, that Mick's voice has stood up to the ravages of time incredibly well, unlike many of his
contemporaries. They 'll keep going until their last breath!

This isn’t a ‘new’ interview, maybe for CBS Sunday Morning, but was done last year for the Hackney Diamonds promo tour. Still great to watch again of course but I’ve seen it, and the band on every tour since ‘69.
I have been a Rolling Stones fan from the age on 9, when my Sister gave me a Stones album for my Birthday, I first saw them live in 1975, as the years have gone by, I have seen them 54 times, in the States, Canada, and over the pond, they are the greatest Rock-n-Roll band in the World.
62 years and still rocking! Rolling Stones will live on forever!
