We got married at the Stones concert just before the show and during their most recent US tour. The crowd was cheering us on. It was incredible. The band got word from a friend of Steve Jordan who was standing near us that we had just tied the knot. About 5 mins later, stage hands came to front of the stage and waived us forward. They said, “Steve used these drum sticks during rehearsal and wants you to have them.” About 2 minutes later, other stage hands waived us forward again and handed us guitar picks and said, “Ronnie says congratulations and gave these to you.” Immense generosity and class from both of these great and legendary musicians and something we cherish every day.
One of my favorite guitarist since Rod Stewart and the Faces. Perfect guy to slide in and be a Rolling Stone. Thank you for all the great music through the years Ronnie!!!
Ronnie also deserves accolades for his solo career as well as work with Jeff Beck playing bass, guitar on Rod Stewart solo albums & of course with the Faces!
His musical demeanor was showcased on the Jeff Beck records. Though all the other players were really tip top, Ronnie made them all sound better than they were, not to mention the end of 'Spanish Boots.' Oooodles of talent, always serving the tune.
For me you hear the real Ronnie when he was in the faces.....I love the stones....and the work he does with Keith..but I loved the stuff he did with Ronnie Lane.. just as much...Ronnie back in those early days...didn't just look cool....he had a wicked laid back ..bluesy ...amazing slide work...very gritty ...but soulful....not to flashy ..just the right notes in the right places....he is very underrated in my eyes..
In my opinion he is not only one of the most underrated guitarists, but he is also one of the most underrated ARTISTS of all time. I'm happy to live in a world with people like Ronnie.
Ronnie was much more exciting as a bassist with the original Jeff Beck Group. Go listen to the albums 'Truth' and 'Beck-Ola' (all except 'Beck's Bolero' on 'Truth', which has John Paul Jones on the bass). Listen to Beck's version of 'Shapes of Things', a tune he had done with the Yardbirds. Try also 'Spanish Boots', 'Plynth'. and two heavied up Elvis covers, 'All Shook Up' and 'Jailhouse Rock'. Not only will you hear a great band with Rod Stewart on vocals, you will hearwhat was essentially the template for Led Zeppelin...who had the same manager as Beck (Peter Grant) and would often see Beck and his band in action. Indeed, Zep's first tour of North America had been booked for Beck after his debut trip was such a success...but he opted not to do the followup, so Gant gave it to Becks friend Jimmy Page...and Zep stole Beck's thunder. But Ronnie is a killer bassist on those two albums. Great playing, great sound.
Ronnie Wood, what a legend. and how great does he look.. despite the early years of the 'rock and rock and roll lifestyle'. Well done Jimmy for being so gracious (and knowledgeable). All the best to you from London.
Yeah he’s great. Been a Stones fan since 1967. I also liked him in the Faces. A wild band. I think he was at a party at Robert Stigwoods when Mick Taylor told Mick Jagger he was leaving. Apparently Woody was right there and piped up he’d like to join. He’d been jamming with Keith in the New Barbarians so it was an easy Segway. Also they did the ‘guitar weave’ like Keith and Brian did. Rather than a totally separate lead riff. And Rod Stewart wanted to go solo so the Faces were breaking up. Woody brought Ian Mcglagan along on keyboards from the Faces.
How great !! Ronnie with Jimmy and the album it's going to be the album of the year 🎉🎉.Love The Rolling Stones .I have seen then only one time in Spain 20nyears ago and was amazing .I hope rto see them again 😻💜💜💜
Great interview! Nice to see them put out a new album after all this time. Ronnie seems like a down to Earth kinda guy. With a sense of humor as well! 👍❤️
I love Ronnie and the Stones. I once spoke with him and complimented him on his excellent harmonica playing, and he seemed so genuinely appreciative of me saying so. It was incredible. His humility and grace was out of this world.
Man I would love to have a drink with The Stones and just talk about life and the love of music. No matter how young or old, the passion they have for music is timeless. I admire that. I got to see their travling experience in Chicago before having floor seats to see them at Soldier Field. It was a bucket list thing to do for a Stones fan.
Well said. I am blessed to have seen the Stones on the 50th Anniversary tour. And then was able to scrounge up the cash to take my daughter when they came back around a few years later. They broke the mold with this band. Still sound amazing. Running on all cylinders. Especially Mick.
I met Ronnie around 20 years ago at his house in Kingston S.W. London ( I was a motorcycle courier picking something up to take into town. He was having trouble controlling the dogs inside the house so he could answer the door. I had no idea I was picking up a job from him but when he eventually managed to come out sans dogs 😂 he said"F*cking hell mate, sorry about the dogs the missus loves them but they can be a pain in the arse!'. I just stood there gobsmacked and 'Don't worry about that it's a pleasure to meet you'. He was possibly the coolest person Iet doing that job who was A list famous and I met a few. Absolutely lovely down to earth bloke and a complete rock 'n' roll legend. P.S. I met Joan Collins on another occasion and she was delightful too. Anyway I'll stop dropping names and shut up now 😊x.
A Beatle on a Stones album 60 years later! Incredibly fantastic! Ronnie Wood blended right into the Stones after they had been a band for 10 plus years and now almost 50 years later.
Thanks Woody for having such a positive attitude and for keeping the stones together. Mick Taylor was a virtuoso player but Woody's personality can't be beat. How great would it be if they were both in the band.
I made a comment about me liking Mandolin Wind, And Ronnie actually replied to me about people like me being art lovers and thanked me for listening. How cool is that!?
Just received my pre-ordered vinyl copy of the album, a day before the official release and played it through. I've been listening to the Stones for over 40 years but the last track on the album got to me like nothing ever before. Maybe it's just me.
I can't wait to see Keith and Mick too, also I love Ronnie Woods' stories, I found out he liked to paint (as a hobby)but not only that he also likes to up cycles things (like that quilt he takes about that he made entirely out of tee shirts), thank you for this ❤️ clip 😀.
I remember seeing those guys at JFK stadium in Philadelphia when they came out with some girls. What a great show! And they’re still bouncing around 40 years afterwards!!! Always a rocker always a Fan4Ever!
Great show. I was there. Opened by Foreigner and Peter Tosh who Jagger joined for dont look back. General admission show where I got to about the 10th row. They sounded a little ruff but it was still the Stones.
So glad the strike's over and Ronnie can promote the new album on Jimmy like the Stones did the Exile rerelease in 2010 (touching story about Charlie's last request).
It was very enjoyable to watch this program. Thank you for sharing it with is on Utube. I liked the Painting of the boats the best this time. THANKS for SHARING SO I Could see the show.
Jimmy Fallon and his interviews are very good ! He seems like such an up beat host as usual in this show. I think this interview was so much fun to watch. He and Ronnie had a great time together. Thank you so much.
Imagine if The Rolling Stones and The rest of the Beatles, Ringo and Paul got on drums and bass and toured with them and played Beatles and stones songs together, that would be memorizing

Always have loved Ronnie. So glad to see him clear eyed, excited and bouncing all around. Seems like a sweet guy.
Great guy 👍
❤
God bless Ronnie Wood. Still a kid at 76.
What a likeable dude. A real legend, even outside of being in the Stones.
Ever so rarely does a real legend come on this show these days, great stuff! Ronnie Wood, the real deal.
Truth !
Yes 🎉Ronnie Wood❤
The real deal..
You're kiding, Mick qnd Keith have done it.
They never give such a promotion for an album wich is far to be their best

Ronnie also deserves accolades for his solo career as well as work with Jeff Beck playing bass, guitar on Rod Stewart solo albums & of course with the Faces!
Between the Faces, Rod Stewart & the Stones. Ron Wood may hold some kind of record as the lead guitarist on the greatest number of Iconic songs.
His musical demeanor was showcased on the Jeff Beck records. Though all the other players were really tip top, Ronnie made them all sound better than they were, not to mention the end of 'Spanish Boots.' Oooodles of talent, always serving the tune.
Mandolin Wind ❤
I feel right at home in this comment
ABSOLUTELY 🎯🏆
Genuine and down to earth. Love Ronnie!!
Ronnie is a legend love him just as legendary as any of the stones, the man's done so much for rock n roll🤟🏽🖤..
The world with all its problems is still blessed to have Jimmy and Ronnie in it!!

However, he is not underrated. He is very much appreciated. And deserves to be appreciated.
There’s that word again…
Ronnie is a joyful guy, and an amazing guitarist ❤🎉

Love Ronnie! He's built of Rock & Roll!
I saw Ronnie Wood when The Faces played the Cole Field House at the University of Maryland on their last tour. Ronnie is a great musician.

I love Ronnie and the Stones. I once spoke with him and complimented him on his excellent harmonica playing, and he seemed so genuinely appreciative of me saying so. It was incredible. His humility and grace was out of this world.
ANGRY is one of the best Stones songs - and absolutely their most brilliant video! I must have watched it 50 times!

Ron Wood is my favorite Rolling Stone. What a delightful fellow.
Ron's slide guitar on Dreamy Skies is fantastic. One of the highlights of the album.
Thanks Woody for having such a positive attitude and for keeping the stones together. Mick Taylor was a virtuoso player but Woody's personality can't be beat. How great would it be if they were both in the band.

and Mick Jagger is on "Baby You're a Rich Man" near the very end of the song.
