There's a reason why Diana and Stevie was among Motown's elite. It was not accidental at all. At the end of the day these are REAL, TRUE vocalists. Listen to how they sing so effortlessly.
I was a little boy when this came out on TV, and already at this point Stevie Wonder was and still is my favorite singer, well over 50 years later. And the incomparable Miss Diana Ross, yes she was gorgeous and still is and she is still the boss. I loved the music at this time in R&B history. So clean, so creative, such good singing.
When Diana did this with The Temptations, it was like she was singing with an all-time great team. With Stevie, she sang with an all time great individual. The Temp version is classic. This version is once in a lifetime.
+matman8540 Stevie nearly outdid Eddie Kendricks if that was even possible and I like that version as well....but Stevie can take a song and make it even better once he begins his vocals.
This is an AMAZING video!! Two musical prodigies of their time building off of each others performance.. and compared to today, SO NOT FAKE! They look like they are genuinely having a good time together performing.

This is one of my favorite videos I found. 2 icons. Never knew Stevie looked so smooth when he was young. Plays multiple instruments, His tiny little noises and vocal sounds he makes during the song, his timing is genius. Their performance is organic, like they are really enjoying each other. 😊
@@buckwildproductions7354 so lucky for him that he was blind, as that would have completely ruined it for him; he would have been too horrified to even remember what Diane Ernestine's voice sounded like.

He has been able to use his imagination and creativity to create his musical vision. A pure genius, optimist, and beautiful person. Thank you Stevie Wonder.

What a treat it is to hear these two legends perform this classic song. It was wonderful when Ms. Ross & the Supremes did it with the Temptations & it's just as good here.

How is it even possible someone could dislike this music. Surely, their computer mouse must've been low on batteries and jumped to the 'thumb's down' button, when in fact they were trying to click on 'thumb's up'.

OMG I know that's right this beautiful classic just moves your soul in the right direction do you agree Lara? A blast from the past timeless indeed! ! MEMORIES WOW! ! ! ! !
Stevie's remarkable sense of phrasing and tone in his vocals lets him take over any song and make it his. Diana sings it like she did on the recording but Stevie hardly goes by the standard set by the Temptations, which made every performance of his an adventure where you didn't know what to expect. What a genius, not just with singing too obviously.
