They could not have chosen a finer group of ladies. I love how they built a crescendo from sweet (Jordan) to sophisticated (Vanessa) to sexy (Ciara) to a sanctified power (Yolanda).
Yolanda never disappoints. Her annointing can not be contained. She blew the roof off with her vocal range & dynamic delivery. That's how you close.

She first met him at 11 years old to his 15, when she would watch him rehearsing with is group then known as The Five Chimes. She would be persistent, he was lying about him waiting until they graduated from High School, she pestered him at 15 in 1959 to get an audtion and she went on about it for months on end. By today's standards she would be known as a "Pest". Simon Cowell did the same thing with Pete Waterman and on US Soil, nobody knows who Pete is, but they know Simon oh so well. The Shows they did were Shivaree and A Murray The K Kaufman Show who at one time was one of America's top DJ's.
Yolanda went to church with that song. That's how Nick Ashford. and Valerie Simpson wrote it..💜🙏🏾

I met her at a after Grammy party in Hollywood . She had on this stunning pale pink ball gown. She was holding a small plate of appetizers , and some sauce spilled onto her gorgeous gown. She didn’t flinch an inch; just pure class. I got to meet Mary Wilson too, a very very nice lady. Circa 1985

I'd love to know what Ross thinks of Someday Well Be Together. My personal opinion is she doesn't care for the song. Notice she has not once performed it on a tour in 50 years? I think it's because of the 1983 catfight with Mary Wilson at the Motown 25 Anniversary Special. The Supremes were supposed to reunite and perform this song and it erupted in chaos. Right or wrong Mary Wilson described this episode in her book and I personally believe Ross has written the song off. She appreciated Jordan Sparks here but you can tell something is off with her while watching. Her daughter sitting over her left shoulder looks like something is wrong too.

Shouldn't The Supremes receive a Kennedy Center Honor? It would fall in line with the Grammy recognition that Diana has received- one for her group work and one for her solo work. Both were trailblazing.
Kennedy Center only honors people who are still living. That is why Michael Jackson has never received one. I wish they would honor Johnny Mathis before it's too late.
