Thanks, David. But I gotta say, I've built the general lee twice and each time it came out one of my favorites. Luckily this kit has the regular charger front end to make it, so that's what I'm doing here. I can't believe how bad, poorly, the Daytona nose is on this kit, total bummwr
I understand the frustration. I picked up a Revell/Monogram pro modeler Daytona a while back that looks to be very nice. It's on the list for a future build. At least the tin is very cool👍
I had one of these back in the early 90s - the front end pieces where a pain but I liked the end result- I also had an older (mpc) Charger 500 a few years earlier that came out pretty good- IMO the Revell is a better kit but they're kinda scarce and pricey if you find one on ebay - since this has the 500/Daytona body, the Charger 500 bumper and grill should have come with the kit instead of the regular split grill (guess it has to do with molding costs or something else ) - Good luck with this kit
Ha ha ha Chris I still have the nose clip in my parts box got to be over 20yrs!.. It's AMT world of crap fit... The revell monogram was light years ahead of it 😂.... And I have opened the headlight doors on the Revell....on the AMT now that would really be a magic trick.....but I'm up for it 😂😂😂
I know my limitations. I'd love to do weathering, some of the rust buckets you guys do, the extent of my weathering is the X-wing(which I never put up yet).
Looks like a challenge! Thanks for sharing that! 👍
It's very disappointing. But I'll make something of it
Oh the joys of some of the AMT kits. Good to always have a plan B, C and D for them.
This one really needs a complete design overhaul. Luckily I'm making it a regular Charger
I built one of those a few years ago and I used about a pound of putty. You will get a plan for the kit. Thanks for sharing.
Flat out sucks that we have to do that to these kits. Luckily this one comes with regular charger bumper to do that one
@@carouselofcrazychrisb I built the same kit you have. I just blew it off as modeling and went through it.
Have fun with this one. I think its the same as the poor fitting General Lee.😮

Wow. I had same problem with the MPC kit, gave it away. Hope you figure it out. 😊
I believe that's the same kit, rebranded. I ended up doing a normal Charger, the green one on my page
Yeah this one needs some wizardry for sure.
I ended up just doing the regular 69 Charger, came out decent

I'd love to try the Revell one! This one is turning into a regular Charger, and so far so good. Not a great kit, but looking decent!!
I built a Daytona a few years ago (can't remember the brand), but I do know that it didn't go together real well.
Very disappointing ain't it. Luckily I can do a regular charger with it
Yeah I have that kit Chris and I'm not looking forward to getting into it! I am however looking forward to seeing your progress on your charger. 😎👍
It's going to be a regular charger, already built a couple of them, but no reason not to have another!!

It's a disappointment but I'm going to make it the normal charger, least make something out of it.
that's why those wacky rascals give you the fancy box with that stinker, me thinks
It is a great tin ain't it?!? Bugger fan of the bix than I am what's inside of it
Cool video Chris. Ron
Thanks, Ron!
Cool video mate, 👍
Thank you!!

Well at least you got a cool box. You could make it into like the Joe Dirt version? Or maybe just add the wing to it?
Hpiguys did the joe dirt version with this kit, I can't compete with him, he's too good.
@@carouselofcrazychrisb yes he's good but don't sell yourself short! You've got plenty of skills Chris.

@@carouselofcrazychrisb ok, then wait till I finish my weathering series lol 😆.
@pappytinkers I've been watching what you got up!!
About right
It's very disappointing. But I'll work thru
What a pain in the Ass! Try to have fun with the build?
I did the regular Charger with it. As of right now I still haven't posted the final on it
Use the Daytona parts on a better Charger kit.
Yeah it's not a great kit Chris, but you can get a revell 😊❤
It's gonna be a regular 69 charger, going together pretty quick now that I have a plan
Fumbles
