All they needed to do was have one person snitch. Someone obviously did that cuz the cat was out of the bag somehow. They could've gave the players immunity and still took their title.
Austin Nick except not really. When the players were granted immunity there was already hard evidence of them cheating. The Mlb just wanted to know how far it went up. The difference is that whatever act they committed did not bring public shame and scrutiny to MLB. Pete Rose and Barry Bonds deserve to be in Hall of Fame.

I watched Barry play every single day for 9 yrs while playing for Giants. I followed him when he was with the Pirates. What I saw was a dude who was a freak of nature. Speed, hand eye coordination, defense, accuracy, longevity, knowledge of strike zone, list goes on. I saw him getting caught between bases, the first baseman caught ball and ran full speed at Bonds who was standing. When Bonds realized that the 1st baseman was running at him full speed to tag Bonds, his glove was about 2 feet from reaching his arm. Barry began to run towards second and outran the 1st baseman. My jaw dropped because did dude went from zero to full speed within 2 seconds an beat the outstretched arm of a young 1st baseman running at full speed. The guy is in the 500-500 club. NOBODY will EVER come close to that. Bonds grew bigger and stronger as did most of the stars in the mid 90's and 00's. Steroids or not, the guy was amazing. Many others used different performance enhancers but NOBODY came remotely close to what bonds achieved. Or will anyone deny the physical transformation of bAGWELL, Salmon, McGwire, P. Rodriguez, Piazza, Caminiti, Sheffield, AROD, and many others? people who were skinny developed bodies as pro wrestlers. Some say it happens through the years but whatever. It is clear that baseball is punishing Bonds for his behavior towards the league and the people that now hold his enshrinement in their hands (sports journalists). Regardless of, to me, he was the best player ever. Unfortunately (Dusty Baker) he never won a championship.
@RAUDO DUVAL I can TOTALLY respect and agree with what you are saying, yet, there is a little detail regarding his playing years after 2004. He had a serious knee issue which sidelined him for a long time and he was never the same (in addition to being over 40). Still, he was a tremendous threat. As I mentioned in my post. Baseball's history has been plagued by cheaters, racists, wife beaters, drunks, etc. To condemn a generation and its elite players who single handed resurrected a dead sport is not right. Bonds "enhanced" his ability to hit Hr's but, it was Bonds, not any other player who reached the stratosphere. So, if I had to judge by his 22 seasons, I think he should be in the HOF. I know for a fact that there are people in there that already tainted the HOF. Actually, just the fact that there was a negro league with players with better numbers than many white current HOF players says it all. Let us not pretend to be so righteous and just. I do agree with many of the things you said especially his behavior with players. Not to excuse him but he did mention that a lot of his behavior was motivated by the treatment his dad received by media.
@@josephc9200 lol, indeed, his persona was off to say he least but, people have the right to redeem themselves and Barry has done great, great deeds in SF. He is ADORED there and that is a fact.

Barry's argument that baseball is keeping him from the Hall, well, it maybe true- but the 'death sentence' he put on himself! He didnt need to juice, he was incredible without that crap! One day, he might get in, but if HE goes in- then Pete Rose & Joe Jackson have to also!!!
Barry Bonds is the perfect example of the old saying: You reap what you sow. He got what he deserved before he juiced. He got what he got after he juiced And now, he's getting what he deserves after his career is over. As far as I'm concerned, if you take the short money then, you give up the right to ask for the long money now.
a million baseball players took steroids in the 80's,90's and into the 2000's but only 1 player had the talent to make the steroids work the way Barry did. Mark and Sammy could only do one thing with it.
Alexander Marquardt Sammy sosa doing nothing else in his career other than being the only person to ever hit 60 home runs 3 years in arow isn’t the most important thing. Barry did so much else and had so much talent it was insane
@@samkellogg2805 actually neither did. The only link to steroids wit bonds was the trainer and he went to prison bc he wouldn't testify against bonds. His head got bigger lol but nothing was ever proven
Good point, but McGwire admitted he was using in his college days. From day one, he was using. Sosa was not a HOF until he did use (allegedly, nothing was ever proven). Their point is that Pirates-era Barry was already HOF-bound. Giants-era Barry should have no ill effect on Bonds HOF-eligibility. Same w/ Red Sox-era Clemens vs. TOR, NYY & HOU-eras. Personally that's bull. Let 'em ALL IN or keep 'em ALL OUT. Imho.
Bonds spent most of his career clean, in which he won 3 MVPs, 7 Gold Gloves, 7 Silver sluggers, had over 1000 rbi, 1200 runs scored, 374 home runs, 417 stolen bases, a 162 OPS+ , a career WAR of 91.8 in just 12 years, and a WAR7 of 62.5. That would put him 11th all time behind Ruth, Mays, Cobb, Gehrig, Williams, Trout, Wagner, Mantle, Musial and Rodriguez. Meaning if you shaved his steroid career off, he still had the 30th best career all time by WAR, right between Al Kaline and Wade Boggs. He was literally one year away from being the only member of the 400-400 club in MLB history. He was a first ballot HOFer before roids, easily. He was a top 10 player all time without roids.
@@slewofdamascus he had hit 450 before the steroids and nobody else even has 300 homeruns with 300 stolen bases and this man has over 700 home runs and over 500 stolen bases. Nuff said

You're gonna tell me an exciting player is worse to watch, than an entire team cheating its way too a championship?
My fav Bonds stat is one Peter Gammons used to cite: there was a point halfway through a season (maybe it was 2004) when Bonds had more home runs than swings-and-misses. The guy’s greatest asset was his eyes, not his roided-up arms. Almost every other HR king has been a human windmill, but Bonds had unbelievable plate discipline.
Dennis Leavitt (1990-1998): These two in their primes before Bonds used- Griffey (1248 Games) : .304/.384/.582, .966 OPS, 154 OPS+ Bonds (1332 Games): .305/.438/.600, 1.038 OPS, 181 OPS+ Yes.
1. The best pitcher in the 1980's Dave steib, who singlehandedly kept Toronto Blue Jays relevant until they got good 2. Curt Schilling with a WAR of like 90 for his career, and nearly undefeated in the post season -- 3. Larry Walker until last year or two, despite being a 370 hitter a couple of years These are the reasons the HOF is a total Joke. Not just steroid guys, but 3 deserving HOF players including the best pitcher of th 80's, the most clutch pitcher in the post season, and Larry Walker, were not in the HOF.
Math Prof Small the only guy on that list that was better than pre roid Bonds was Mays. (1990-1998): Bonds and Junior in their primes before Bonds used- Griffey (1248 Games) : .304/.384/.582, .966 OPS, 154 OPS+, 83 DRS, 62.5 bWAR, 61.1 fWAR Bonds (1332 Games): .305/.438/.600, 1.038 OPS, 181 OPS+, 112 DRS, 76.3 bWAR, 78 fWAR Bonds was always better than Junior. Junior was only better than him defensively, given the positional value of CF and him being so elite at it. But Bonds was the clearly superior all around hitter and baserunner, while also being an awesome fielder. We can also go by WAR7, which a player’s peak by adding up the a player’s best 7 seasons regardless of when they were (in other words, not necessarily a consecutive 7 year stretch). Bonds’ pre roid WAR7 is 62.6. Griffey’s is 54. Aaron’s is 60.3.
I was on a flight to Las Vegas with Barry Bonds a couple years ago on Virgin Airlines 1st class. He sat right behind me with his little tiny dog on his lap. My friends got on after cause they were in coach (i was only first class cause I bought last minute and it was actually cheaper) and my friends were freaking out. i was really sure it was him and when we got off I just asked him "Excuse me sir... Are you Mr Bonds?" And he said yes I am. I just said "I won't bother you but just want to tell you I was a huge fan as a kid and I used to run down my mile long gravel driveway to get the newspaper and watch your homerun race everyday". I left him alone after that but it was pretty cool.
@Baby87......No roids don’t help “hand-eye coordination”. They DO allow you to wait on pitches longer (faster bat speed), however you still have to swing the bat where the ball will be. Roids don’t magically point out where to swing the bat, you have to know where to swing the bat and how to time the swing. The argument against Bonds isn’t about having amazing contact with the ball. It’s about would he still be crushing homers into the twilight of his career or would they be just warning track shots. The real question should be about asterisking his HR title for the record books, not does he belong in the HOF. If one makes the case that he “cheated” and therefore can’t be in the Hall. Then every person who ever cheated shouldn’t get in, or should be removed if already in......which I’d be ok with then, but no one ever is. There’s always excuses and extenuating circumstances as to why said player did something outside the rules and they need an exception. It’s real simple, put him in the hall and then asterisk any/all records he set/broke during those few juiced years.

This is ridiculous
Sirius Mind well I mean the mlb was in a lose lose situation. They could either have punished the players hard like you want and most likely if they went that route nobody on the team would spoke the truth about it. So they granted immunity so that way they could get the truth from the players.
Not...Jose may hit 10 home runs when he was cheating in the playoffs...bonds hit over 300 home runs when he was juiced.
Which is ludicrous bc this type of cheating that involves the entire team at least goes all the way up to the manager if not the owner. Rob manfred is trying his hardest to make this seem like it’s not a big deal bc he knows he fucked up
Rose changed the outcome of baseball games using disintegrity. Of course i believe that he bet AGAINST his own team despite what he says. Rose has demons hes not a good person. Ive been around him many times. Just stating the differences from steroid use, tactical cheating, and blatantly changing the outcome of games. Should Pete be HOF, probably. I suspect Bonds, McGuire, Sosa and Rose all get in the hall by 2030.

Yes, Hank Aaron belongs on that list also. He did everything great for so many years. However, he just didn’t look spectacular doing it. He didn’t have the flair of Mays or Clemente or Ricky. He didn’t have the star power of Bonds or A Rod. He hit many homers, but not the moon shots that Pujols hit. Overall, Hank Aaron doesn’t take a backseat to anyone. His numbers are off the charts.
Juice head with a horrible personality
Barry Bonds: when was I supposed to know I was taking steroids?
When you win the “most improved hitter” award at 44 years old.
The only REAL records belong to Aaron and Maris. Period.
1. The best pitcher in the 1980's Dave steib, who singlehandedly kept Toronto Blue Jays relevant until they got good
2. Curt Schilling with a WAR of like 90 for his career, and nearly undefeated in the post season --
3. Larry Walker until last year or two, despite being a 370 hitter a couple of years
These are the reasons the HOF is a total Joke. Not just steroid guys, but 3 deserving HOF players including the best pitcher of th 80's, the most clutch pitcher in the post season, and Larry Walker, were not in the HOF.
Perennial 30-30 guy, MVP, Gold Glove winner long before steroids.
@James Horton That's ridiculous. For starters, Ken Griffey Jr, Willie Mays, and Hank Aaron were better.
Math Prof Small the only guy on that list that was better than pre roid Bonds was Mays.
(1990-1998): Bonds and Junior in their primes before Bonds used-
Griffey (1248 Games) :
.304/.384/.582, .966 OPS, 154 OPS+, 83 DRS, 62.5 bWAR, 61.1 fWAR
Bonds (1332 Games):
.305/.438/.600, 1.038 OPS, 181 OPS+,
112 DRS, 76.3 bWAR, 78 fWAR
Bonds was always better than Junior.
Math Prof Small way better? What are you smoking? You can argue for any, but no way Bonds isn’t with elites of the game. You’re out of your mind.
s glaze Bonds was on track for the goat convo before he used. I’m amazed that people don’t remember this.
Jim Taylor totally agree. NFL players use and get a 4 game suspension and all is forgotten.
You ruined the HOF chances by using the steroids, regardless of what you did prior.
You ruined the marriage by using pornography to get stimulated, regardless of what you did prior.
Barry Bonds is in my hall of fame no matter what
Mine too he’s the GOAT
If he goes in theb sammy, mark ,clemens should also go in
Barry Bonds most feared man with a bat. Even Buford Pusser .
Lmao I don’t see steroids being a problem. Folk still gotta make contact with the ball 🤷🏾♂️.
Thank you. I've been saying that for years.
You know. Steroids make you faster and Excell your hand eye cordanation tho rite? It's not just muscles in your arms
steroids do alot more then just help put on muscle lol
@@Silver_79 he wasn't using steroids but a customized form of hgh which is very different than traditional steroids. Your
entire point is invalid.

I noticed Alex Rodriguez has been accepted back into MLB as an announcer and a potential owner. Meanwhile, Bonds, Sosa, McGuire and Clemens get thrown under the bus by hypocritical sports writers and kept out of the MLB's nearly worthless Hall of Fame.
Two things:
- Bonds and McGwire both had coaching jobs with MLB teams.
- The Hall of Fame isn't run by MLB.
@@TRivera13 Coaching jobs is hardly the same as being welcomed back by MLB like A-Rod has been.
@@infiniteuniverse9528 You're not making sense. ARod has been a broadcaster since retiring. The companies that hire him aren't a part of MLB. McGwire and Bonds have been coaches, in uniform in the dugout during MLB games. How is that not being accepted back?
@@TRivera13 If you don't see a difference between the way Bonds, McGuire, Sosa and Clemens are treated from A-Rod, maybe you need to apply for a weed license for your glaucoma problems.
@@infiniteuniverse9528 How about you take your own advice. Because the point you're making has no weight. Besides Sosa who has been MIA in the Dominican Republic bleaching his skin. Clemens, McGwire and Bonds have been involved in MLB events in some capacity since their retirements. Clemens was inducted in the Red Sox Hall Of Fame, Bonds had his number retired by the Giants and again coached on the Marlins, McGwire has coached for the Cardinals and Padres. Where do you see them not being accepted back in MLB if *they're wearing MLB f'n uniforms?!?!?* I mean use your noggin. I got nothing else to say.
Barry Bonds and Mark McGuire were phenomenal baseball players with or without PEDs. People don’t realize that you still need to perform.
You don't have LOVE the MAN, but you do have to RESPECT THE MAN (this accomplishments with or without steroids he was GREATPLAYER. Bobby Knight was the same way INDY Hoosiers Coach.
