- Today we're going around to all of the major roller coasters at La Ronde to see how fast they are dispatching those rides, so that we keep the line moving! In addition, we also time how long it takes to get into the park -- which might be the scariest operations of them all!

15-20 Minutes into the park isn't bad, come to pleasure beach. You're expecting 25-45 mins (not because its bad, just because it's one of the best parks in the country.) 15-20 is nothing to me.

Pleasure Beach Blackpool i rate it over Merlin parks actually. the Big One is really good most of the times i go they have two trains and by the time one train has got back to the station the other one is dispatching
I got in within 5 minutes this season. I've never waited more than 15 minutes??
last season i never had to wait long to get in. the only long wait you tend to find is the ticket office but the park entrance itself is normally very quiet unless you go on a day when there's tons of enthusiasts
Anti-stapling trick:
Personally pull your restraint to where it's comfortable for you then, as inconspicuously as you can, apply reverse pressure on the restraint when the ride op comes by. If you can force enough pressure to beat theirs then they assume it's maxed and move on. I've done it a few times and never had a problem.

Personally, when I don't staple the guests they always start freaking out. One time I messed up big time because I chose to not staple the people at the Vampire and half of the train was freaking out and screaming "It's still loose, it's not tight enough" so then I had to go back and staple all of the guests that were freaking out. The guy at the panel even had to say "The restraints weren't made to fit every person's profile perfectly so it's normal that it might be a bit loose." Because of that, it made our dispatch even longer and the second train was just sitting there waiting on the brakes.

Goliath has 101% improved their dispatches when i rode i was getting like 45 second dispatches
operations, in general, have improved a lot. I honestly tend to be as fast as possible when I dispatch trains but the customers always take forever to put their bags inside the bins and then sit down on the trains
I went to the park a few weeks ago and they are doing even better than you said. Not just Goliath, but the team there works so fast that one train leaves as the other finishes the cycle.
I went to La Ronde in September 2023, and the only bad operations were on Vampire (5 minute dispatches frequently)

When I with my friends they just stopped the other train (Once they stopped) from coming then took about five minutes when someone threw up while I was there, so I I’m unsure about taking the train off the rail, maybe they wanted to fix something with it?
I'm surprised this wasn't brought up more often
In most of these you can't really blame the operators, its mainly the people with all the stuff they carry

I’m glad you gave some credit to the operations, but I can confirm that they have improved a lot since your visit. Goliath has one of the best run lines I’ve ever seen and Ednor ran 2 trains, which is rare for an SLC.
Really? I’ve found SLCs almost always running 2 trains

I've ridden Goliath around 45 times, I've gotten airtime once or twice
Me myself as a ride operator can say that dispatch times can vary every cycle, many things can delay the dispatch time. Its almost rare to have perfect dispatches with guest who know what to do. Plus With taking off a train maybe someone threw up maybe a guest reported a safety issue you never know if you're a guest and we are not allowed to tell you whats wrong. This whole series is based on the speed of the guest and not the speed of the Ride Ops. I can also say we have to do as many dispatches as possible in hour times otherwise we get in trouble.
yes, thank you for your input. I absolutely agree with what you say, it really is impossible to get an exact average. But that being said, its still entertaining to see how each coaster varies.

Watch that bit again. The clock starts counting at the start of the loading. The customers are the ones who take all the time. Wait for the last rider to sit down and then start counting...…..The park is moving. The customers are the issue.
You should ask the customer to hurry up then! Its not the employees fault at all, specially on this video where she helped the customer with their bags , what is not really a part of her job btw.

For Goliath testing late, many things can go wrong before the park opens, which could explain why they took a train off. There could have been something wrong with the train. I still remember one busy Saturday, we pulled a Voyage train. This wasn’t due to the fact that we didn’t want it on, but rather maintenance. So for me personally, that’s what i’m attributing that one to.
Sometimes there’s not enough people to run another train at the same time.

To be honest here, it has already been painted (ages and ages ago) but the big difference of Quebec's temperature is not helping at all. We have more than 120F of difference between summer and winter. It's taking a toll on every coaster, especially on Le Monstre, which is more than 30 years old, resisting weather
In regards to Goliath, the train might have had a mechanical issue right off the bat and had to be removed to be fixed. Then they fixed it and added it back on.

Ethan Willis you are not crazy. That was definitely Banjo Kazooie. Video game music popping up at entertainment venues in Canada for some reason is not uncommon. My local horse race track plays music from Legend of Zelda and has Navi saying Listen! As a race indicator

On race days, it is nothing special. There is, however, a fireworks contests (L'International des Feux Lotto-Quebec) and on those days, the attendance triples of quadruples.

What’s nice about La Ronde is that you don’t even have to drop off your kids. They take public transport and go there by themselves. That’s why it’s packed with teenagers and that’s why people don’t like it and that’s why they have so much fun

Changing trains or cleaning them during operation is a common practice usually due to Safety concerns, malfunction, or quite simply, someone puked or soiled themselves on the ride.
I always love the music he put in while the dispatches happen
Unrelated Story:
I was in line for Joker at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom (Row 6) and there was this crew that legit tried to go as fast as they could. Still maintaining safety and ran to make sure gates are good and closed. And they were running 2 trains, and the line remained 25 minutes for the entire day. Amazing crew and ride is pretty good. But Bravo!!

Y'all wer fuukin nuts. I went on the last Tuesday you were open of 2017 and you were running 3 trains, sprinting around to check the restraints, and there was only like 8 people on each train. It was nuts how fast you guys were dispatching. The park that day was so empty. Loved it.

You’re right about the lines BUT there are some days where there’s absolutely no one there ( the F1 during June or when it’s slightly raining ). It doesn’t make the rides any better but it still solves the time issue, since you’re the only one there
As someone who is very parnoid about safety I prefer to be stapled to the seat
that's unfortunate. These coasters have a 100% safety record without a single accident from a person falling out or a restraint failing. You're missing out on some awesome airtime!

I used to staple myself on The Joker at discovery kingdom due to paranoia, by using my elbows to force me down further, eventually I stopped doing that because it makes the drop and airtime hills more entertaining.

I may be imagining things, but it sure seems that whenever a Six Flags park removes a ride from a park due to low interest or maintenance difficulties, their standard solution is "let's give it to LaRonde"!
Yeah because La Ronde has a big maintenance facility and it's the only Six Flags park to have one. So Six Flags sends us their old used rides, the mechanics here completely renovate the rides to make them "as good as new" while the bigger Six Flags parks get all the newest coasters and flat rides. And it basically doesn't cost Six Flags anything

last 5 times i went to la ronde i waited less than 5 minutes to get in and my longest wait time for a ride was 45 minutes for the Titan. everything else was 20 minutes or less even though the park was pretty packed. again, you were just unlucky.
These operations are a LOT better than when I visited LaRonde about 10 years ago. Most of the rides were 5 minute or so load times.

I've been to La Ronde past weekend (home park for me). October weekends are among the busiest days of the year because of the Festival de la Frayeur. It took close to 60 minutes to actually enter the park. We also only did 2 rides from 1pm to 10pm. It was atrocious.

I’ve never heard anyone swear on your channel before Taylor... that was hilarious. I have to say if any park deserves to take that honour... it is La Ronde.
For the record it’s my home park, and yes, the ride ops and operations in general are absolutely abysmal. I never got stapled on Goliath personally though... if I did, I don’t think I’d have any reason to go there... I’ve long since gotten all the credits. I wish I lived in Toronto so CW could be my home park. As it stands I have to drive 5-6 hours to get to CW or a good 7-8 hours for SFNE as my next closest good option.
Six flags needs to put some serious work into this place. I really think it could be good. RMC Monstre would be a good start if RMC was even allowed to build in Canada
Good thing Monstre was closed, you would have had a heart attack. That's my fave ride in the park but the operations are so frustrating. Slow as molassas and employees were constantly checking their phones, head down texting as trains came in. It was disturbing. The line is glacial but it's a great ride after they got the PTCs on.
And now, Monster runs 1 train 24/7.

That's cute try going to Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey. It takes a little under an hour just to get in through the lines in the front of the park and then a good half hour walking back to the rides and then if you want to get on the 2nd most popular ride Superman good luck waiting for 3 hours for just that ride alone
