Quick update on what has happened since this video was made! Matt and I each spoke with representatives from Six Flags Over Georgia, who apologized for what happened, and provided more information on their policies. First, Six Flags Over Georgia DOES allow cameras with interchangeable lenses in the park. Next, the loose article cubbies at Superman Ultimate Flight are there because they were never removed from the old policy before the lockers were brought in, and now are solely to be used by guests with medical equipment that they can’t be separated from in line. They don’t want loose items placed there in the event of theft. The lockers are in place to speed up operations. Finally, Six Flags takes safety VERY seriously, and were alarmed at what happened to Matt at Superman. Disciplinary action has since been taken, with steps made to ensure something like that does not happen again. The same goes for the ride operator on his phone at Goliath. What happened to us this past week is not an accurate representation of staff training. We appreciate management for speaking with us, apologizing for what happened, and taking steps to improve. As I mentioned at the end of the video, I know that despite what happened, we will be back to Six Flags Over Georgia in the future, and we look forward to having a much better experience. -Taylor
Well...they're about 20 years too late to the 'suspicious camera' game. This was a frequent measure after 11 SEP 2001 attacks but, as you noted, has long since been forgotten everywhere else.
I agree. I saw the video you made on this coaster and how there is so many safety rules the ride staff have to follow and your leg should never be like that throughout the ride. I can’t believe the staff was this lazy. This really is unacceptable
I've worked at a different Six Flags park for 4 years, and worked at a second Six Flags park this summer, what happened to his friend would've gotten the whole crew fired at my main park, because guest safety is the most important thing there. But also, we're a newer Six Flags park, so we still have the mind frame from our old management, but guest safety is the most important thing, we've had entire crews fired from a ride because someone missed a restraint and the crew cleared the ride to start, with a restraint still up in the air. That part of the video seriously made my blood boil as a ride op who takes her job seriously. Like yeah, it's good to be efficient and have the ride going, but efficiency means nothing if your guests aren't safe.
As a former Superman ride op at SFGAm, that leg flap mistake is inexcusable. Every one on the platform that day needs to be disciplined. From day 1, I've always maintained that nobody under the age of 18 should be operating rides -- but some entire crews in the Six Flags chain have red tags (16 & 17 yr olds). Super is one of the hardest rides to operate and one of the rides that requires the most focus during dispatch -- the SOP and certification exam are made difficult for a reason.
A 16 year Old may Operate Superman as Good as a 40 year old Operator. It depends on the mindset towards the job. I guess I am a good example for that: Im 16 and am working as a lifeguard after school and Im one of the lifeguards that are focused the most on the Job.
That happened to me once where it went into flying position and my legs weren’t in but then it went back down and they came over and fixed it but nothing would have happened because you can just keep your legs straight because I went on superman normally and I held my legs in the middle floating not touching anything and at no time did your legs get slammed to the side or up or down and there’s like a 5 foot clearance everywhere on the track
Question for you. The one time i went to ride superman back when it was new. I got shut in but could flex my legs and it would pop open. Happened like 3 times. Then the chick is like its cool ill lock you in. I was like heck no let me out. She was arguing with me. Im like i dont want to fall out, let me out. Was this a thing with that coaster or was i just unlucky?
@@the_dmb7569 Not to take anything away from you, but being a 16 year old it's quite easy to see why a) you would disagree with an 18-up policy and possibly feel a bit defensive at the suggestion and b) why you would believe you are an exception to the rule. Everyone thinks they are. It may be true in your case, but even if so-- it makes you an exception. I agree there should be no 16 or 17 year olds working flying coasters.
Makes no sense. I asked and they literally let me walk under the helix last year. This year they said I could go on the road behind Twisted, but then asked me to leave 5 minutes later. Very wishy washy.
@Anomalocaris if you manage to get too close to a tree or as Taylor said, the ground because Superman is a terrain coaster there is a chance you may hit something with your leg. Hope that helps you know on why that is actually dangerous
As a Georgian, this is how SFOG operates. They won't pay people a quality wage so we deal with problems like this constantly. I had an incident where I was riding Great American Scream Machine and the lap bar wasn't secured and I had to scream at the attendant to stop the ride because they were halfassing their lap bar check. I also had a lapbar open up mid ride on the old georgia cyclone (thank god they put the RMC in) I had to tense up to hold myself through the bunny hills towards the end. I told the ride attendant and they said "oh yea, that happens sometimes."
So the attendant is wrong in that situation. We are trained to say "We are very sorry that happened to you, please wait to speak with a supervisor" then we can a supervisor and maintenance and shut down the ride
It should’nt matter what you make. If you accept a job offer, freaking do your job. Not doing your job or slacking but is probably the worst way to get a pay increase.
Doesn’t matter if they get paid $1. They chose to take the job so safety should be priority. Idc if you get paid peanuts, these are peoples lives and they signed up for the job, period
I doubt anyone called the cops. Parks don't like professional photography taking place within their property. It's why media credentials exist. I'd suggest Taylor just contact the parks media reps and I'm sure it'll never be a problem again. I used to work with the media and also have seen this policy in place in parks for years.
Yikes! That strange photo policy reminds me of the ridiculous antics that Six Flags Ohio / Six Flags Worlds of Adventure enforced. While I was never turned away at the front gate for having a camera, I was asked to put it back in my car for taking pictures on the midway. Not in any line. Not in any behind the scenes areas. In the park, on the midway. I even witnessed security taking a camera out of the hands of one of my friends who was just walking with it. It was miserable at that park and I stopped going because of rules like that. Each time it happened I would go to guest relations and wasn't given the explanation for the rule. The closest anyone explained it to me was "Six Flags prohibits the copying of any of it's logos". When I brought up that the park sells disposable cameras in the gift shops, they denied it. The photo policy is one thing but the safety of riders is a MUST. I still can't believe what I have seen in your video. How does anyone not see that when a train is dispatching? It sounds like Six Flags Over Georgia did apologize to you, which is a step in the right direction, but considering the video, I have absolutely no plans to visit that park anytime in the future. Maybe that will change in a few years but this video really turned me off from going to the park. Thanks for uploading.
I forgot about that SFWOA policy. Good thing CF didn't have that policy. I took a bunch of video and photos of Geauga Lake its last day. I knew it was THE last day ahead of time.
The funny thing is that according to the park there was never a restriction against photography. This was back when I was the ACE publications director and, of course, we rely on contributions of photos from our members. I felt it should be brought to someone's attention. I wrote to the GM and PR manager and told them that there were disturbing reports of guests being harassed by park security and employees for taking pictures - even a report of one employee ripping film out of guest's camera. I also provided them with a link to a video of a security guard screaming into the camera to shut it off. I was given a written response that as long as park patrons remain within public areas they are welcome to take pictures and video. I still have that letter somewhere. Fortunately I never experienced it first hand, so I do have photos of the park. However, these complaints were all over RRC (social media at the time) and it happened to several people I know, some of them close friends. It had to be a widespread problem and yet the park managers seemed completely unaware.
Likely reason is probably Covid and operators don't have time to clean them between every train. Op should have just said that but was probably over explaining it 1000 times that day. Odd because think they be used to repeating same steps constantly.
@@Soloman_Gumball It doesn’t matter if they have time or not, safety comes first. They should never force loose articles on a train because it could seriously injure someone. You might be wondering, well how badly can a phone injure anyone? Very badly. If a phone lands in someone’s eye, which is not as unlikely as you think considering people gather around a ride to look at it to begin with, it could permanently blind one of their eyes. And that’s a phone. Imagine someone’s keys.
This is my home park and I can honestly say that over the years the customer service has done nothing but get worse year after year. They hire a bunch of young, ignorant, negligent, selfish people who couldn’t care less about the job and have no passion for coasters or the amusement industry in general. I worked on the ga scorcher as a team member when I was 16, I loved it. My coworkers were just after a check. Nothing wrong with that per se, but customer service is basically the entire theme park industry. If you don’t like people or dealing with customers then an amusement park is NOT the place you should be working.
Being a former ride operator from Disney and a current ride operator at Universal, the leg incident would be an automatic 2 point safety or termination. SFoG has really been slacking a lot lately, especially with its one train dispatching on busy days, extremely careless Team Members who are very slow and height situations. I dont know whats happening with this park in particular but it really needs a fresh new management team.
If you miss a leg flap at Super (SFGAm) and it leaves the station lift stop You will receive a written safety (get a second one and you get to enjoy your ride home) and you will be blacklisted from working super for life
I agree sad too because if they added an elite ride or 2, some theming and clean it up and re paint then this place could be special. The layout of the land is really awesome which can be a pain when you’re going uphill but a lot of shade just overall a pleasant place to walk around. But sadly, it’s in an area where the whole entire town surrounding it is also running down so
The foot hanging doesn’t surprise me. All Six Flags parks have stupid teenagers running the rides because most are seasonal and don’t care. Six Flags has had so many accidents over the years because of negligence.
I just don't get. I would never want to operate a ride because I wouldn't want that kind of responsibility. One mistake could get someone hurt or killed.
Six Flags isn't the only park that has teenagers operate their rides, the difference in this park is that it's so poorly run that nobody cares whatsoever and the overall vibe of the park is and continues to be lackluster at best
I swear… even if I’m a 16 year old operating a ride, I would absolutely try my best to make sure it’s done right. Theme parks are supposed to be fun, the least I can do is to do my part to keep things as safe as possible
I've only been to over Georgia once however when I went half the rides where shutdown because of maintenance and the other half kept shutting down because of a light and I mean light misting of rain going on. Spent a total of ten hours in the park and got to ride one flat ride forget which one and got to stand in line for batman for 8 hours never rode a single rollercoaster while I was there. Super disappointing
You handled all of this in a classy way. Well done. I’ve never had a good day at this park. Sadly, I’ve delt with inconsistent and harsh security personnel, indifferent guest relations workers, terrible communication between ride ops and their superiors, and horrible rain protocols. Despite all my failed visits at this park, I love it and really want to keep trying to give it a chance to deliver.
Hopefully it doesn't pop up on any click bait accident videos. I can see it now: a poorly edited and oversaturated sky with the coaster over the the picture and his leg dangling
As a former ride operator and mechanic, this sickens me. Carelessness really gets my blood boiling and to see carelessness potentially cause injury to anyone is beyond me. The camera policy is something I'll need to look into before I try to use my go pro to start filming my videos. Sorry this happened.
@@alexanderimhof357 but when your make people wear masks and that puts that at risk of getting bacterial phenomena or some other damage from wear that mask so long then they can’t force you to do it and it would be wrong to comply.
That’s why they didn’t want you to use your camera because they don’t want you taking pictures of them not doing their job. Also they think you maybe with a law firm. Taking pictures of the rides to get a case or prove a case against them.
Irony is if they had left you alone you would have made a video about the park and their rides but now you made a video really making them sound petty and incompetent.
Because they are. They run the park so poorly that I don't see them being able to keep the doors open more than a few months if the pandemic doesn't improve. Quite frankly, the "park" isn't fit to be in. A far cry from what it once was.
My home park is Six Flags Over Georgia and it's always hilarious visiting STOG directly after a trip to Disney. The staff training is wildly different. Everyone is a teenager and nobody has any idea what they're doing.
As someone that works at Disney and watching this video I’m so shocked. Like we don’t have too many major thrill rides but even on the relaxing rides safety is taken so seriously. Those Superman incidents would never happen at Disney
@@ski_feet101 actually cedar fair parks are better they would never let this happen they check everyone three times before launching rides and even rides that don't have a cubby they will let you keep loose items on the exit area and will watch it for you my dad left his wallet on one of the exit ramps and the ride operator waved him down so he didn't leave it like six flags have better rides in some areas but cedar fair parks have better regulations
I’m glad the guy wasn’t injured but how does a coaster enthusiast who’s worked a flying coaster before miss the leg harness. And on Six Flags/b&m part, how is there not a sensor to detect hanging legs that alerts the crew?
This was my question as well!! Like without question the operators were at fault for not catching it....but as a rider I feel like you have to make and effort to miss the harness, theres no place else to put your foot than where it will get harnessed.
There isn't one.... I know that park well enough to tell you with a fair amount of certainty they made that up to protect themselves. This happened at the height of the whole BLM mess that gripped America. This park is staffed by mostly young, ATL public school educated (which means poorly educated for those who aren't local) African Americans. The same ones you see wearing BLM shirts. And they gave two white boys trouble for nothing at all. As far as the Ultimate Flight Incident I refer you to my previous comment about ATL public schools. Trust me, I know people who attended that school district.
As a former ride operator at Six Flags Fiesta Texas, this is a nightmare. Like genuinely, going to sleep and nightmares about not properly checking restraints. I cant imagine what id feel like if i knee i was the one that caused someone else to lose a limb or worse.
They actually dispatched a train with a riders foot dangling on a B&M Flyer and did not notice??? Fire every single one that worked on Superman that night. Completely unacceptable.
Yep. I'm a former ride op (although not on a B&M flyer although we had one at our park) and every single person on that crew needs to be immediately fired. Like, immediately. That restraint system is COMPLETELY DEPENDENT on those legs being locked in place. They all violated multiple safety protocols to allow that to happen and are lucky that it happened to an enthusiast that knows how to anticipate the oncoming forces and is more likely to manage an emergency like that. I'm honestly stunned.
u guys are making a big deal out of the safety concerns of that, the ride is designed to account for open leg flaps, but yeah the employees should be fired, but its not like u could get seriously injured from the leg flaps being open
back in 2017, a similar thing happened to my mom where the shoulder harness wasn’t on all the way and when she told the op about it the op just walked away and dispatched it
@@MillenniumForceMan you could get seriously injured. With the forces, your leg could uncontrollably swing forwards then suddenly backwards, dislocating it especially on the pretzel knot. Also why are you everywhere?
Dude, I’m so sorry that happened to you! Over Georgia is my home park (we live in Atlanta). Have been pass holders for many many years. We have seen such a decline in our park for many years now, especially in regards to the employees. Really heartbreaking to me as it seems like the management has no expectation of excellence from there employees. We have been to many other six flags parks and have not experienced the same at those parks. We love your channel and we just hope you’ll come back, and hopefully have a better experience next time. Happy new year
I don't really understand how the Superman thing even happened. Here in the UK, the staff for Galactica (Air) have to check the foot restraints for every seat before the train is authorised to leave (usually involves a slight kick) - this would be picked up in a heartbeat. How can something so obvious be missed and then further ignored once the train was primed (it wasn't hard to miss); and then some-one actually had to authorise and allow the train to leave. I even think there is some sort of sensor that detects a weight distribution issue if this happens and flags the seat concerned (I'm not certain, but I seem to remember conversations about amputees having to have an over-ride because the trains didn't detect the "correct" number of legs, for example). There are just SO MANY points of failure here I'm flabbergasted. That isn't a mistake. That is negligence at it's most obvious.
You're absolutely right. I've ridden Manta at SeaWorld Orlando and Tatsu and Six Flags Magic Mountain, and I remember that kick to the foot restraints happening to me every single time I rode.
@@CoasterStudios It literally shows in the screenshot you posted that you can't film for commercial purposes. You were literally breaking the policy that you showed. What's the problem?

I've never had an issue with my cameras at disney, but I know they do have rules against selfie sticks because of the fear of others getting wacked. This is still obviously security being on a power trip
My history with Disney is that they are very welcoming to brining in any camera. I brought in a Mirrorless camera with external microphone, 4 lenses, extra batteries and a gimbal and the only thing Disney asked me was to confirm that the gimbal did not extend (like a selfie stick) and took my work for it. As for my Six Flags park (Great America) they will not even let in a 2 tabletop handheld tripod, but as of 2019, they did not care about me brining in my mirrorless with the one lens attached (no bag of stuff like when I went to Disney). as for Universal Orlando, they were the same as Disney, just you cannot bring anything (even smartphone) on any rides except the Hogwarts Express and Dr Seuss ride. I think that Disney as well as Universal want as much web presence via vloggers and are willing to let people bring in best gear.
Really sorry about what happened, Taylor. As a ride op myself, this is totally unacceptable! I’m glad you guys handled it professionally and that management there is taking the steps to ensure that something like this doesn’t happen again! Same goes for the security incident. I really hope they do a better job at being more consistent with the rules and ensuring guest safety.
My home park is Great Adventure, and unfortunately, I've witnessed incidents like these too. I once got on Bizarro with my mother and shoulder harness didn't click. Ride operators couldn't care less about it, and it was only prevented from coming loose because of the seat belt. During another instance when I was smaller, my little brother rode the Taz Tornado kiddie swing ride. Mid-ride, a little girl decided she wanted off and straight up jumped off the ride. Every time she tried to get up, she'd get nailed in the head by another passenger's feet; all the while the ride op not caring at all. Six Flags should really enforce more strict safety training of its ride operators.
the little girl shouldn't have been able to get off in the first place and it's umm kind off her fault :l no one should jump off a ride..it can cause injury to herself and innocent others.
Growing up, Six Flags over Georgia was my home park. One time around 8 or 9 years ago, I rode Superman with my friends front row, and low and behold, the vest portion of my harness didn’t lock for the entire ride. I told the staff the restraint was broken, and they just shrugged and kept the seat open 🙄. Looks like not much has changed.
@@TheyfoundRickGrimes Thanks! It sounds a lot worse than it was (just had to hold up my upper body for the ride). My waist was firmly locked in place haha
Ride opp: you can’t put your stuff in cubby Taylor: I could loose my items tho Guest: I just lost my keys Ride opp: lol This is the definition of six flags if I’ve ever heard one
Wow! Being a ride operator at six flags fiesta texas I can say with absolute certainty that there operators were blatantly not doing their job. The loose article policy should have been and was, at least to me, very heavily addressed in the company wide certified safe training that all Six Flags operators have to go through. I can not say for certain weather part of this incompetence was from the area leads and/or supervisors (the people who do the on ride training) or if all responsibility fall on the team members themselves, but either way it is terrifying to know the differences of the parks in the same chain. In terms of having their phone out.... WHATTT??!! That is one huge thing that can result in immediate termination or at the BARE MINIMUM a loss of certification of your rides and the need to re take certified safe plus on the job training of the rides. I can rest assure you that Six Flags Fiesta Texas operators are much better lol. Especially in area 1 (crack axle canyon) :)
Yeah I'm a ride op at Great Adventure and so many things are wrong at SFOG. The supervisors clearly aren't training anyone well and the ride ops aren't caring about anything. A phone out while the train was dispatcing or even out at all is a huge no no. Maybe SFGAD is unique but most of the guys I work with go above what's required for spiels and whatever.
I think this needs to be sent to Six Flags corporate. If they really wanna shut down coaster bloggers like this then maybe we'll just stop covering six flags parks altogether. The lack of safety at this park is also very concerning
Agreed. This is my home park and you can tell that alot of the staff here just don't care about their jobs. It's overall a good park, just some of the staff make the experience worse.
9:40 My home park is kentucky kingdom and they normally have really nice and careful ride ops, but this one lady also was on her phone when i was getting on T3, and at the time I didn't know it was against the rules, thanks for letting me know that she shouldnt be doing that :p
Yup. Over ga was my home park for many years....happy that it's not anymore. Their staff has always been horrible. Saw an employee spit on a customer one time.
@@scottyjbd Nah, this is much worse than what America has had. Trust me. They may get lax on certain things, but they haven’t been shown to be this blatant. Not with me at least.
Thanks for being responsible and making sure the Heads of Staff knew what was going on. Problems with the tree don't get solved on the branch but in the root.
I just got back from Disney world and we had a 30 minute hold up due to our tickets not working, and they gave us a free fast pass on the extremely popular smugglers run. After this video that shows a lot about the different theme parks.
You definitely are NOT exaggerating about the leg incident. Look how far his leg extends out without the ankle holders, and with how forceful flyers are there are points where it is nearly impossible to hold your leg up. They sound like such careless employee's and the park really needs to get themselves together.
With Superman Ultimate flight at Over Georgia, there are many instances to where if the leg flap is not closed fully, the guest could get seriously injured. There is a very close call with a tree that if the leg flap is closed and the guest is not in the proper riding position, you could hit that tree and get your leg hurt, aswell with the many other elements. Definitely disappointed that this happened at my home park.
Sounds like security were looking to cause drama with you. Plenty of families go into the park every day with cameras to take pictures. What I imagine happened is, they see a dude with no family taking pictures, and find it suspicious. So they pull excuses out their ass as to why you can't because they don't know your intent with the pictures.
My group and I also experienced VERY inconsistent policies throughout the day. When we reached out to customer service prior to getting to the park we were told we do not need to buy lockers for ANY roller coasters. Boy were we greeted with a fun surprise. Locker sizes are also different depending on the ride so your 'transferrable' pass may or may not work for you.
When SF Great Adventure in NJ's Chiller partially derailed in 2007, a few of us were standing near the coaster just looking at the train covered with a blue tarp. 4 or 5 SF security guards came over and started screaming at us to get the hell away, you can't stand here, you can't photograph this-nobody was taking pictures that I'm aware of. Like, WTF????
It’s great of you to mention all safety and other issues. People who view this video will hopefully think twice about either going on certain rides.or attending the park at all. Thank you for caring of others.
@@jonathonedwardmiller nah because then a lot of the major US parks would be gone. we wouldn't have nearly as many coaster parks if all of Six Flags were to go bankrupt and shut down
kudos to you all for keeping calm and professional. You handled both situations very well. Its unfortunate that something like this even happened to you all especially with Superman. If something like that happened to me on that ride I'm not sure if I would have been able to keep my cool. Safety is so so important. Any negligence of safety should result in immediate termination.
That is absurd how the ride operators let him out of the station when the train wasn’t fully locked. Imagine if it had been the over the shoulder restraint that didn’t lock. That is not okay
Evry thing did lock the shin guard was locked too as you Can see. the trains can’t depart the station if everything isn’t locked I just think he didn’t get his leg ind
The restraints were all locked or the train wouldn't be able to depart the station. This is an issue basically unique to b&m flyers where its possible for the restraint to lock with a limb outside of the restraint. This should be checked by ride ops before and during dispatch, who were obviously negligent that day and didn't check properly. Anybody looking should be able to see that as the train departs a leg is hanging down and stop the train on the lift. Somehow not one single ride op saw this and allowed the ride to complete a circuit with a loose leg
@@Darth_Smauls Kong? That is not the same type of coaster as superman and it’s only superman and the other coasters of the same model that has the problem with the shin guards 🙂
The policy about not letting guests use the cubbies has been going on FOREVER at Six Flags Over Georgia. I went in September 2019 and they made us carry EVERYTHING with us WHILE we rode Goliath. They were doing this to every guest. So disappointing.
It’s a money grabbing tactic. Force guest to pay for the park attendants to retrieve their belongings or risk having them taken by them. I also speculate they do it to make lines go by quicker by having people make the choice to not ride the ride.
Thank you for sharing this information! As a Georgian, I’m very sorry for your bad experiences, and especially appalled at the lack of diligence and concern on the part of the ride operators. I hope you have better experiences in the future.
You don’t have to apologize for something you didn’t do just because you’re a Georgian. Let the people who actually did wrong apologies, and don’t drag yourself down to their level. But hey whatever floats your boat
As former ride op those things are disturbing and hence why Six Flags Great Adventure is super strict with the loose article policy, I worked at Casino Pier, No phones on rides were allowed or the result was an immediate ejection from the park,NJ in general has the strictest guidelines, That ride op was unsafe and supervisor/park mgmt should've been alerted
SFNE used to have a similar camera policy because they didn't want staff photographers to have competition. Now that everyone has cameras on their phone it's impossible to enforce.
I’m so sorry that you guys had to deal with that. You handled the situation extremely well. However, if I were you, I would sue the park for what happened on Superman. While I understand that the man at guest services was very nice and might have talked to the staff about it, there is still no excuse for that to happen. His leg could have been broken or worse (I think you know what I mean by that...) Point is, you really could sue the park, because if anything really bad happened to him, that would result in a major lawsuit like what happened with Alton Towers.
Those security guards were looking for clout. Every security department looks better for filling out incident reports. All higher ups will read is a report about "suspiscous people kicked out of park with high tech camera equipment"
They didn't even stop the lift hill... I swear the same thing happened a few years ago on superman ultimate flight at Great Adventure and they stopped the lift right at the bottom
Well, Georgia DID help turn the election... twice🥰 I know that so many people are scared of politics and need to escape from it like it’s some kind of monster, when in reality it’s far more important than your little entertainment or what you do in your spare time. Six Flags Magic Mountain has had that camera policy for several years, though enforcement was spotty. They specifically list Go Pro cameras, lenses greater than 3.5 inches in length, and interchangeable lenses as banned. Sounds like this policy may be expanding and/or being more strictly enforced. As for Superman, that is insane, though not the first time I've heard of such happening on that ride. Unfortunately, SFOG seems a bit more lax on safety standards than most of the other parks in the chain, but it's concerning that they don't even seem to care when legitimately dangerous incidents occur.
Years ago I had a restraint open on a coaster at SGoG, I pulled it and it locked back in place. I told the ride staff afterward. They said it can't happen and continued to load the train. I called operations afterward, they we're sincerely interested in the situation.
@@Loopyguy I hate all the employees who think safety should not be the number one priority. You have to talk to someone higher up to find someone who actually cares.
That’s just security theater, it’s a policy that makes no sense, but it is a policy that could make people feel safer. It’s like what the TSA does a lot of the time.
I actually just went to this park and had some strange inconsistencies and issues. Every ride had one train running except for Twisted Cyclone, but both cars on the ride had the front row closed. The ride also opened a half hour late because they would not run the trains without three employees and they only had two. It was frustrating, but hey the rides are good.
Yikes that's terrifying at Superman. The only camera issue I've had at a Six Flags park was at Great Adventure. I took a picture of the old Chiller Observatory from the center of the midway (when Justice League was under construction). A security guard told me I had to delete that photo since the building I took a picture of was behind a fence and Six Flags clearly didn't want that photographed.
I am a huge rollercoaster enthusiast and thank you for this informative video. I visit Cedar Fair parks much more frequently than Six Flags parks not that it matters as far as safety is concerned. I have never been hassled about cameras or photography at any Cedar Fair parks and have never experienced any safety issues further solidifying my opinions that Cedar Fair is a far superior company than Six Flags!!!! Once again thank you for this informative video.
The last time Taylor came through my security check I not only let him in but told him I was looking forward to watching footage of my park. So obviously I don't work for Six Flags...
-Taylor
That makes me feel much better
Good to hear. Hopefully they follow up with security about the camera rule too.
My wife actually lost her keys on super man Ultimate flight as Six Flags Great America.
So why are they tripping over camcorders and your camera?????????
Well...they're about 20 years too late to the 'suspicious camera' game. This was a frequent measure after 11 SEP 2001 attacks but, as you noted, has long since been forgotten everywhere else.
The camera policy is absolutely strange but what happened to Matt on Superman is unacceptable. Over Georgia must do better.
I agree. I saw the video you made on this coaster and how there is so many safety rules the ride staff have to follow and your leg should never be like that throughout the ride. I can’t believe the staff was this lazy. This really is unacceptable
Yeah super unsafe ride operators
I can agree, Over Georgia needs to do better
Wow I know mistakes happen and all but I still can’t believe that happened.
I'm glad to here you take this seriously unlike the fools who did this.
Six Flags camera policy: Depends on the day, the park and who is working that day lol.

@Anomalocaris if you manage to get too close to a tree or as Taylor said, the ground because Superman is a terrain coaster there is a chance you may hit something with your leg. Hope that helps you know on why that is actually dangerous
@Anomalocaris I was thinking if a way to word that but you said it already
okay, but most of the staff are under 25, so you can’t blame them
As a Georgian, this is how SFOG operates.
You had to scream for them to stop the ride? You can't pull your lap bar down yourself? No wonder people fall out of rides.
@@kryn1030 the lap bar wouldn't stay down. They didn't check. They had to reset the lapbar
Doesn’t matter if they get paid $1. They chose to take the job so safety should be priority. Idc if you get paid peanuts, these are peoples lives and they signed up for the job, period
The person who called the cops on you was jealous of your photography😂
I doubt anyone called the cops. Parks don't like professional photography taking place within their property. It's why media credentials exist. I'd suggest Taylor just contact the parks media reps and I'm sure it'll never be a problem again. I used to work with the media and also have seen this policy in place in parks for years.
@@patrickwagner98 idk I was just making a joke😂
No, that person probably gets bullied at school or at home and wants to take their frustration on someone else 😂
Or they were just a paranoid idiot.
The cop was probably like "I'm really getting called for a kid recording a roller coaster?"🙄
I certainly remember those crazy policies at SFWoA!
I forgot about that SFWOA policy. Good thing CF didn't have that policy. I took a bunch of video and photos of Geauga Lake its last day. I knew it was THE last day ahead of time.
@Dusk Raccoon Yep, that's pretty much the reason why.
@@AJH1004 It was ridiculous.
Taylor: “I could lose my car keys, wallet, and/or phone!”
Ride Op: “lol tough life.”
Likely reason is probably Covid and operators don't have time to clean them between every train.
Op should have just said that but was probably over explaining it 1000 times that day. Odd because think they be used to repeating same steps constantly.
Op: well, what if we add it a leg?
@@Soloman_Gumball It doesn’t matter if they have time or not, safety comes first. They should never force loose articles on a train because it could seriously injure someone.
You might be wondering, well how badly can a phone injure anyone? Very badly. If a phone lands in someone’s eye, which is not as unlikely as you think considering people gather around a ride to look at it to begin with, it could permanently blind one of their eyes. And that’s a phone. Imagine someone’s keys.
They have always done that before covid. I’ve rode every ride there and they don’t care about you personal items.
@@Adventureswithnichole they really don’t. I remember I almost bashed the operator in the face. Like how you laugh at something being broke etc

James Mason as a former sfog employee I agree with your assessment. Our last visit was disappointing and was just that, our last visit. Sad.
If you miss a leg flap at Super (SFGAm) and it leaves the station lift stop
You will receive a written safety (get a second one and you get to enjoy your ride home) and you will be blacklisted from working super for life
I agree sad too because if they added an elite ride or 2, some theming and clean it up and re paint then this place could be special.
I think whoever runs a coaster should be at least 25 years old so that they have some more sense knocked into them
Six Flags isn't the only park that has teenagers operate their rides, the difference in this park is that it's so poorly run that nobody cares whatsoever and the overall vibe of the park is and continues to be lackluster at best
I swear… even if I’m a 16 year old operating a ride, I would absolutely try my best to make sure it’s done right. Theme parks are supposed to be fun, the least I can do is to do my part to keep things as safe as possible
Over Georgia just took a Six Flags Day to a whole new level.
@bigapplecoasters great question
Yes

This is a little bit on the foil-hat side imo, but it is quite the coincidence that this happened on the same day.
Irony is if they had left you alone you would have made a video about the park and their rides but now you made a video really making them sound petty and incompetent.

Yep. I'm a former ride op (although not on a B&M flyer although we had one at our park) and every single person on that crew needs to be immediately fired. Like, immediately. That restraint system is COMPLETELY DEPENDENT on those legs being locked in place. It's funny because Theme Park Worldwide also had a negative experience with the Superman ride crew when he went in 2019
Can you link the vid? Im rlly curious

Disney has never stopped anyone from recording on rides. As long as the camera is safe tied to your body.
All six flags parks operate as their own business, so taking it to corporate probably wouldn't do much

I've went their many times and I haven't seen any of that, but I'm sorry you had to witness that :(
the little girl shouldn't have been able to get off in the first place and it's umm kind off her fault :l no one should jump off a ride..it can cause injury to herself and innocent others.
Omg - thats awful!! Glad you were ok 👍
@@TheyfoundRickGrimes Thanks! It sounds a lot worse than it was (just had to hold up my upper body for the ride). My waist was firmly locked in place haha
Why does that ride always have problems, my brothers gotten stuck on that ride upside down.
Ride opp: you can’t put your stuff in cubby
Taylor: I could loose my items tho
Guest: I just lost my keys
Ride opp: lol
This is the definition of six flags if I’ve ever heard one
@@thegeniusman8757 same thing with us here at fiesta
I think this needs to be sent to Six Flags corporate. If they really wanna shut down coaster bloggers like this then maybe we'll just stop covering six flags parks altogether.
The lack of safety at this park is also very concerning
Agreed. This is my home park and you can tell that alot of the staff here just don't care about their jobs. It's overall a good park, just some of the staff make the experience worse.
9:40 My home park is kentucky kingdom and they normally have really nice and careful ride ops, but this one lady also was on her phone when i was getting on T3, and at the time I didn't know it was against the rules, thanks for letting me know that she shouldnt be doing that :p
the staff at sfog is mostly really bad sadly
Yup. Over ga was my home park for many years....happy that it's not anymore. Their staff has always been horrible. Saw an employee spit on a customer one time.
@@franklintheturtle wow. Just wow
Cant be as bad as America!! Or can they?
@@scottyjbd Nah, this is much worse than what America has had. Trust me. They may get lax on certain things, but they haven’t been shown to be this blatant. Not with me at least.
@@ItsSiebay yowzer!! Ay carumba!! I cant imagine worse than America
Taylor and crew are like an episode of Undercover Boss and I'm here for it
Thanks for being responsible and making sure the Heads of Staff knew what was going on.
Those employees need to get fired for something that negligent
Not the first time a major RUclipsr has had a gabarge experience at SFOG.
I’m surprised the head of security didn’t freak out at you taking photos of the guys leg as it is a clear breach of camera policy
It would have been taken from a phone, so it wouldn't be a breach of such a ridiculous policy.
Thank you for being caring guys. You were to the point and every thing you said made sense.
Theme park worldwide had issues with the superman staff at six flag over Georgia too
Security any other time: eh seems legit
Security on that day at that specific time: omg is that a bomb!!!!
least clickbaity title ever. suspicious.... sir you're under arrest
haha, you had me laughing there!
How terrifying for Matt. He could have lost his leg. Glad he's ok.
This is my home park. Sorry this happened to you. Usually the staff is pretty good, however it is Six Flags afterall.
Bro, Taylor, your photography is phenomenal
Knowing Six Flags, these rules won't even consistently last a month or two.
It’s great of you to mention all safety and other issues. People who view this video will hopefully think twice about either going on certain rides.or attending the park at all. Thank you for caring of others.
This park is on a fast downhill. Everything that happened is unacceptable
@@jonathonedwardmiller nah because then a lot of the major US parks would be gone. we wouldn't have nearly as many coaster parks if all of Six Flags were to go bankrupt and shut down
@@jonathonedwardmiller dont say that. Some parks may never re-open, kid
@@scottyjbd Most of their parks would most likely be sold or the rides would be
@@kofi4759 rides sold = park not reopening, so you're agreeing with me in an argumentative matter. Mmmkay
@@scottyjbd No i mean the parks will probably get sold but if they dont the rides definitely will
kudos to you all for keeping calm and professional.
I literally had that happen on Kong and had to hold myself in I’ve never ridden a roller coaster since. I will NEVER step inside a six flags again.
@@Darth_Smauls Kong? That is not the same type of coaster as superman and it’s only superman and the other coasters of the same model that has the problem with the shin guards 🙂
@@f1-mag I know but the restraints still failed and I’m still freaking traumatized
To the operator of Superman: what were you smoking when you told them to keep their stuff in loose pockets
Moral of the story: Six Flags is run by trash, enter a Six Flags park at your own risk!
Six Flags, the United of theme parks.
@@joehung1552 Actually, Six Flags is more of the Spirit or Frontier (or even both) of the theme park business
The police came, well guess I’m not visiting Six Flags over Georgia for a while.
Can you sue for a hypothetical?
@@adrianmudd6329 Absolutely
When I was a ride op at Michigan's Adventure they didn't even let us bring our phones into the park.
We should get an army of your fans to go with that camera and just surround the whole property and take video.
At least the crew actually did something unlike the over Georgia crew
I am so happy that I live in Europe.
Every park that I have been to has something to put your items in.
In America almost every park instead of six flags have bins in the cue
Georgia is high off the attention they’ve been getting
Well, Georgia DID help turn the election... twice🥰
I know that so many people are scared of politics and need to escape from it like it’s some kind of monster, when in reality it’s far more important than your little entertainment or what you do in your spare time.
Also, I doubt “the attention they’ve been getting” has a thing to do with Six Flags
It’s like weed to them
Lotsa RepubLIEcucks
@@whoreshoe shameful comment
@@whoreshoe I'm sure democrats are squeaky clean as well. Both parties are batshit crazy, and that's a fact. Everyone seems to think their party is the 100 percent right one, when in reality, the far leaning right and left are both insane.
If I were told that I had to ride with everything in my pocket, I would’ve gotten out of line in an instant
I used to watch this channel years ago, and I'm glad to see you're still making high quality content.
The security made me leave last night when i tried to take photos of twisted cyclone 😭
The gp version of this title would be: MY RESTRAINT WAS OPEN ON A ROLLER COASTER OMG **not clickbait** **must see**
Expectation: *what the title says*
Reality: *a normal park vlog*
Years ago I had a restraint open on a coaster at SGoG, I pulled it and it locked back in place. I told the ride staff afterward. They said it can't happen and continued to load the train. I called operations afterward, they we're sincerely interested in the situation.
@@Loopyguy I hate all the employees who think safety should not be the number one priority. You have to talk to someone higher up to find someone who actually cares.
I didn't have a camera with me and an image of it was not my first concern.
Wait you can't bring a camera to a theme park?! Every dad from the 90's with the over the shoulder camcorder is in violation then 😂
It was the Kodak Instamatics in the 70's for me. 🙂
Did you delete it
If i was them, i woulda deleted it then recovered it later (from Recently Deleted in Apple Photos)
@@coasterhockygamingboy9549 It was on my digital camera. When you delete something on that camera, it's gone gone.
You would think Six Flags would want as much positive attention as possible, now more than ever.
We support you Taylor we need to get this seen by six flags because this is unacceptable
One thing I’ve learned about going places like this, everything that can go wrong will go wrong, just gotta be prepared for the worst.
We visited in 2019 and I’ve never been to a park before that I experienced so many safety hazards at, it was shocking.
Sounds like you had a Six Flags day! Thanks for sharing! I've heard more bad experiences than good about this Six Flags park in particular!
What is Six Flags Over Georgia doing???
