as someone whose built a few watches with parts off AliExpress i feel like you definitely could've spent $120 with the exact same results, ive seen identical cases for well under $50 and to get that specific crown you could probably find for ~$10. Regardless pretty cool looking build
Nice looking watch. Couldnt help but notice that you misaligned the hour hand. It wasnt center with the 12 o clock index when the minute hand was. I hope you have fixed that, it would drive me nuts. Nice watch!
Lovely review! Quick question, is the chapter ring removable? I the dial i have has its own chapter ring, and I was wondering if I'd be able to use it. Thanks in advance!
Beautiful GS homage, I was thinking of building the same, but I feel it is a bit small and dressy for me, so I went for an AT shades build. Great job and parts selection!
Check the Seiko service manual for the NH movement. It says you should line up the dot on that wheel to the corner of the rotor when it is being installed.
They're the same crown, but the signature is different. Personally, I prefer plain/sterile crowns, but I didn't have the option when I purchased the case. The one I have in the video has an S signed on it. Thanks for the comment!
I added a link to an alternative case and bracelet, that's very similar, to the video description. I couldn't find the one I used in this video either.
I like it but I think I'd try it with a different movement, maybe the PT5000. An ETA 2824-2 clone with some very good reviews. Only €10/$10/£10 more, but if you're going for the more premium look I just wonder if the smoother second hand would be desirable. Should be able to find similar case, dial etc that fits it (if any of this currently doesn't).
That’s a good point. I am looking at pt5000 for a future build, but it’s a bit difficult to find parts for it, they’re not as available as those compatible with Seiko NH series. The ones used in this video are definitely not compatible with pt5000. Thanks for the suggestion!
@@simplewatchtalks Yeah, there's definitely more dial choices, that's the main thing I've found. A lot of the cases have the option for ETA2824-2/PT5000, hands not a problem but you are a more limited selection of dials for sure. I'm looking at building a Royal Oak style watch and decided to go with the NH35 due to lack of choice for the size of dial I needed. But I have the parts for a Datejust style case and didn't struggle to at least find options there, dial size etc seemed to have more compatible choice. I haven't done it but I believe there's kits to add the feet to any dial...
I am glad to hear that! I am planning to build a lot of mods in the future, a bullhead watch is definitely something I am interested in. Thank you for the suggestion!
Why would you add a seiko logo? It’s not a real seiko watch, the point of making yourself a watch is knowing that it’s exclusive to you, by putting a logo you’re just copying a brand
@@Sargento_Menta I go back and forth on this, but technically the watch runs on a Seiko movement, so in my view it can be argued that adding the Seiko logo isn't out of line. However, if selling the watch, it should be fully disclosed that it isn't an official Seiko watch model and is a custom build using aftermarket parts.
What is the point of wasting your money on buying Chinese junk watches.......you are only fooling yourself........if you want a watch that looks like a Grand Seiko then buy a Grand Seiko......a genuine one !!
You should consider turning off the automatic focus on your camera so it doesnt randomly focus on your hands
Otherwise, beautiful watch!
This is actually very helpful. It’s a new camera, so I suck at it at the moment. Thank you so much!
Please
Swapping the rotor to the blue one is a W move, well done!
Thank you!
Super nice build, very classy taste!
Love that you get right down to business and have all the information
I just noticed that you provided links for alternative parts. Please disregard my other comment.
Nice build. Thanks for the vid.
Nice clean build! Thanks for the tips.
Beautiful job, love the 38mm size
Looks like a Grand Seiko. Nice build!
Thank you!
Awesome video and what a beautiful watch! Thanks for sharing I will make my own soon 😊
Stunning build 😍. Very expensive though😔
Damn, the watch looks amazing!

Same thought.
I want to know where these cases are. I want one. Cheapest I can find is £100
@benellis7427 aliexpress
Nice choice of dial and hands. Very classy and sporty. Subscribed!
It actually looks really nice and quite similar to grand seikos design style
Absolutely stunning! Great choice of materials and excellent work. Well worth the money I think.
Thank you for sharing 👍
Thank you, I appreciate it!
Beautiful looking build!
Thank you! It’s even better in person!
Absolutely stunning! Great choice of materials and excellent work. Well worth the money I think
Thank you for sharing 👍
You have created a great looking watch 👍
I am glad you liked it, thank you!
The blue rotor looks nice - like that watch
Sehr schöne Uhr. Gute Arbeit 👍
Very nice build, but the push pinsa re not set in correctly on the endlinks, check again before your watch drops down...
You could have spent a lot less on all but the rotor and movement. But them what would i comment on? Besides the nice-looking watch.
What a beautiful dial!!
It’s worth every penny. I don’t think plain dials make it for me anymore..
Beautiful!!! Great choice and video
Thank you so much!!

I made a lot of mistakes making this watch, but I fixed them thanks to the helpful feedback such as yours, thank you!
I would have had the indices match the color of the seconds hand.
Nice looking watch.
Lovely review! Quick question, is the chapter ring removable? I the dial i have has its own chapter ring, and I was wondering if I'd be able to use it. Thanks in advance!
The case has no removable parts, and the chapter ring is part of the dial. If your dial is 28.5mm, it should fit.
@@simplewatchtalks Thank you!

Thank you! That AT shades custom build sounds like a great idea, I will look into it!

You are 100% correct, I didn't know that! I will keep it in mind for future projects, thank you!
@@simplewatchtalkshappy to share the information for everyone's benefit 😊
Hi, beautiful build, but on the case purchase page you have to choose between s crown/sg crown/sterile, which one should you get?

Great video thanks
Glad you enjoyed it
Nice watch assembly ,you can also out seiko logo on the dial .you also dislpay S on crown .
This is inspiring!
Nice look!
Thank you! Cheers!
Wow realy nice watch! Unfortunately de case and bracelet arent availeble anymore. Do you have any tips where i can find it?
I added a link to an alternative case and bracelet, that's very similar, to the video description. I couldn't find the one I used in this video either.
Thanks @@simplewatchtalks!! The Dial isnt availible anymore😂
@@simplewatchtalksi placed an order for everything but not the dial. So happy to build this watch
I added an alternative to the dial as well. I think a lot of people purchased them lately that they ran out haha. Thank you for the support!
@@simplewatchtalks your welcome and thanks for this great build
Very nicely done...

Hello
Love your vids
Can you do an oversize watch?
Or a bullhead watch?
I am glad to hear that! I am planning to build a lot of mods in the future, a bullhead watch is definitely something I am interested in. Thank you for the suggestion!
Very nice.
Thank you! Cheers!
This is such a nice piece,I would have never expected a hour hand to be $26 on aliexpress😅
It’s the price of the entire handset, sometimes there are sales, so it can be got for cheaper.
So what was the overall cost and how long did it take you to build?
$225 03:49, it took around 45 minutes.
What song is playing at 1:18?
It’s a song I got from Epidemic sounds called Tarpil.
Thank you so much!
Maybe if you find a suitable chapter ring it will be more aesthetic.
I will keep it in mind for future builds, thanks for the suggestion!
Anyone knows what those hands are called?
I don't know specifically, but you can try "SG handset". I have a link in the video description (affiliate) if you wanna check it out.
You ever sell these?
Not for now, but I might in the future if there is enough interest.
What was the total material cost to build this watch?
$225 03:49
You need to throw a Sieko logo on it you can buy them separately would top it off.

omg the camera focus is so bad my eyes are bleeding
I am sorry about that! The next video will be better!
Thanks, looks like a Casio for me.😊
the file made me scared
Looks weird with the naked dial.
Wtf $20 for hands? The same set is available for me on Ali for like $7. Are you counting shipping in the cost?
It’s without shipping. Ali charges more in my location compared to the U.S. for example, but it might be a discount as well.
@simplewatchtalks I'm in Thailand right now actually. Weird for prices to be so insane without shipping.
Pleeeeeease! Turn off the auto focus!
Stunning watch but how you built it is a mystery because the camera focuses on your hands or your tools only
Sorry about that. I will do better next time! Thanks for the feedback!
Thats a great looking watch. Sexy af. Well done sir
I am really happy with the reception this one is getting so far, thank you!
W WOW
Funny I’m wearing my Casio 5610u
I am mean do you anything else when you have that?
@ it’s my weekend beater running errands yard work and chasing the kiddo!
A screwed together bracelet is already better than any grand seiko on the market… you should sell this for $1,000 more than grand seikos.
Original Seiko with warranty is cheaper. IQ free DIY

Travail sans support de mouvement et la date qui change avant minuit,... horrible comme travail, faut faire autre chose !
Merci pour le conseil.
