    If you want a temple testimony meeting, become a temple worker. In our preparation meetings we can discuss things about temple ordinances. I have learned so much.

    Our bodies are temples. The garment reminds us of this. We should protect and honor and keep our bodies sacred.

    Thank you for this whole series. I have used principles and understanding you have taught to answer others questions and concerns about church history. I really appreciate your presentation. Can’t wait for the next series.

    I watched a series on the martyrdom and I believe that Joseph and others removed their garments to preserve them from desecration from the mobbers and murderers. It happened to be a hot day.

    I feel that the doctrine about the relationship between men and women taught in the temple at the time I was endowed almost 50 years ago, was incorrect. How do you explain that? It caused terrible distress to me and many others I know. One Relief
    Society president in my ward expressed to me how grateful she was to be single whenever she performed ordinance work. Hardly seems to be the goal we are
    seeking. I also met a number of divorced members for whom this covenant was a major, and sometimes the major, cause of their divorces. I do not understabd how we could have made what I consider false doctrine to be taught as part of our highest ordinances.

      I also received my endowment about the same time you did. I think we need to remember that it was a different time and societal norms were evident in couple relationships. I remember women in the church being vital and strong. As a temple worker, I am grateful for the changes. The Lord is moving the work and helping us to” accomplish it faster for all the saints.

      @@ValerieChristensen-jw6cy Do we teach societal norms in the temple or eternal truths? Because I went expecting to be taught the truth. Not man-made lies.

      The Lord teaches eternal truth in temples yet He only reveals at a rate we will accept. I often think of Pres Holland’s statement that the Lord has only imperfect people to work with, but He deals with it.

      @@ValerieChristensen-jw6cy That is true. Do you think these imperfect men will mind waiting in spirit prison the same number of years they damaged our lives? I think that would be just. An imperfect woman who suffered greatly from the false doctrine they taught.

      @terrym5786 There seems to be a misconception with a lot of people, even members. There have always been Core Doctrines, Supporting Doctrine and Policy Doctrine. Core doctrine = Jesus Christ is the son of God who did for our sins, a testimony of that is needed to be baptized, given the priesthood for men, enter into the Temple. Supporting is he was born in a manager and his mother's name was Mary you really don't need to believe that or accept that to be baptized or enter the Temple that question is never asked in a interview. Policy doctrine, a change in the Church's schedule, black men can receive the priesthood. There many many examples like that in the Bible as well.

    Im worried our version of keys was an invention by Brigham Young

    • @TO-Aloha
      @TO-Aloha 4 месяца назад +1

      Keys refer to heavenly knowledge. Brigham had none. So keys became a successive lineage, after the pattern of the lower, Levite priesthood. Keys are heavenly knowledge-when no heavenly knowledge is to be found among leadership, “keys” are held in stewardship, as “office of authority.” Revelation is more about seeing things differently, but Brigham made it more about following orders.

      I guess you need to do away with Doctrine and Covenants 110 and to do away with Jesus Christ telling Peter that he gave him the keys. You also need to reject Joseph and Oliver's account of Peter James and John giving them the keys, but okay.

    Are you saying women had no salfific covenant to obey God prior to the change in covenant?
