- Tribute video for Kaylee Frye, been working back and forth on this the last 6-7months. This is my second video on Firefly as I adore the show and it's characters. Thank you for the support on the last video, please share around.

I love that a character practically made of innocence, sweetness, and light was also in her own way the biggest horndog on a ship that had a companion and Jayne.
I was never so interested in anyone's nethers until Kaylee hit the starlanes.

Innocent ... innocent ? That little monkey-tart was distracting Mal's engineer from his duties when the Captain first met her, banged the poor boy's brains out down in the engine room !
I loved how she was able to figure out what wrong with the ship having never been on one while on her back while having her nethers twixed.
A few years ago, I went to a Con who featured most of the cast of Firefly. I had a 10yr anniversary poster which I wanted them each to sign. Jewel was the first to sign it. While waiting in line, I wasn't nervous or the like, lots of talk about the show of course and you could see the other cast members there who were signing too. I thought I was set! I finally get up to Jewel and absolutely FROZE. What felt like forever probably was only a couple of seconds to which I collected myself, apologized explaining I promised myself to not be "That Guy". She laughed and we spoke for about 30 seconds afterward about the show n stuff. She signed my poster "You're cute...I want to LIVE!" with a big 'ol heart and her sig. I was a geek for the rest of the day...and that poster, along with the other cast members signatures...sits framed and mounted center in my entertainment room.
Jewel was a down right cutie..... you are one lucky guy to get a autograph like that!!

My parents named me after Kaylee in hopes I would be as positive and hopeful as her. I love to watch the show every once in a while and think of it. She cheers me up.

Kaylee was my favorite character on Firefly. Beautiful, funny, and I love women who aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty.
Kaylee was the heart of Serenity in two ways; she kept her flying when she should have been adrift in space, and her heart and warmth brought a balance of humanity and warmth to the ship that wouldn't have been the same without her.
Left out a goodie.
Jayne : Captain, can you stop her from bein' cheerful, please?
Mal : I don't believe there's a power in the 'verse can stop Kaylee from bein' cheerful. Sometimes you just wanna duct-tape her mouth and dump her in the hold for a month.
Kaylee : [kisses Mal's cheek] I love my captain.

That was the scene that got me hooked
Kaylee got some of the best lines. One of my favorites was from Serenity: "Goin' on a year now I ain't had nothin' twixt my nethers weren't run on batteries!" As another commenter said, the biggest horndog on the ship.
That was my favorite also.
I've had a crush on this lady since 2002. Honestly, I still do.

The writing for this show was just spot on. Never anything close to it before or since.
Gotta harcore crush on Kaylee all these year. That devastivating smile. Glad she got her doctor in the end.

She had such a majical feel for those engines....... I loved seeing her in all the adventures STAY SHINY!!!!😀I want more of this...... I want more of this...... not just Kaylee but the whole crew. It is so very sad that Book can not come back to his role.....It is a masterful role

@@A____G as much as I didn't want the series to end a reboot would just not be the same, sometimes you have to take the Jewel as it is and appreciate it, no amount of extra polishing will shine it more.
@@CrusaderSports250 I don't think anyone thinks it will be the same, but that doesn't mean it won't be great to spend more time in the firefly universe. If they can get the tone right, pay attention to the important details and give us some decent character through which to experience the universe, then I don't need it to be a perfect recreation. I just want it to be good.
@@A____G as would I, but you know in your heart of hearts they would trash it the whole inclusive mustn't offend anyone culture we have today is destroying drama, Firefly was made up of broken characters and that was part of its appeal, we can relate to a little bit of that brokenness in our own lives, but I couldn't see that being allowed, I think it best we live with and love the gem we have.

@@abbynormall207 I wouldn't bode them any malice... if the show wasn't good. It was amazing; it's the fact that they had such an ego, and because Morena Baccarin wouldn't sleep with them, they threw a tantrum.

@@doriangray6985 She was. The entire crew was. I'm not a series fan, I hardly watch any nowadays. I've re-watched Firefly a couple times and will never tire of it!
She is made from the same mold as one of my best friend's sister. Wonderful female!
Kaylee was so adorable!
One of the reasons why I liked the character of Kaylee was because she reminded me of my younger sister. And that was nice.
I just started watching the series again, this time on hulu. I have to watch the whole series again every few years. Never get tired of it. The best cast of characters. Fun to watch. One of my most favorite TV series ever. Kaylee is such a beauty on the show.
Same here, once a year I'll rewatch the series. Doing these videos I get to rewatch a bunch more and notice more details each time.
I only made it part way through this video. There is still too much love and sorrow built up for Serenity and its crew. 20 years on and this series still feels like the biggest love and greatest loss of my life.
I've had a crush on Kaylee since the first episode. Jewel Statie did an amazing job playing her. 😻😻

Disney can TRY to make their own version of Firefly, but NOTHING they can ever make will replace or supplant my Firefly. I love Kaylee, have had a crush on Jewel Staite since I first saw the show, and that will NOT change.

This was such a phenomenal show and cast. Like Sheldon Cooper, I couldn't beleive that they'd cancel this show after just one season. What a waste of what could have been a brilliant 6 to 10 year run.

Even though they made her gain weight because they thought she was too thin for the part, she's still the perfect mix of beauty, charm, and wholesomeness...combined with such a warm personality. Take her over Inara any day of the week and twice on Sundays.
So gorgeous. I was surprised to find out she actually had to gain weight and maintain it during the series. I never would have noticed.
Oh gosh... with Preacher/Sheppard, I bawled my eyes out in the end. He was such an amazing character.

This tribute is about more than Kaylee. Sooo much here about what made the whole show great, rough as it was, just like the ship itself.
I’m going to be Kaylee for Halloween. And hopefully some other times to cosplay. I’m so excited! She’s such a wonderful character! :) I even bought a pin that says Shiny! 💕🥰

To be fair, I think Kaylee is "one of" EVERYBODY'S favorite characters. (including me) lol
Total Props to Jewel Straite for her amazing performance of this loveably, sweet & optimistic character played with nuance and depth.
I think my 'overall" favorite is Walsh. But lets be honest, Walsh & Kaylee we definitely "cut from the same cloth".
Kaylee was always my favourite , so sweet and so bubbly and always just wanted everyone to be happy like her , didn't hurt that she is just so gorgeous , that smile could melt any heart , oooh yum . PLEASE bring back firefly .

you made me fall in love with the show more and more I think she was the best character on the show but I also loved all the characters one of my favorite shows ever I totally wish it had at least six seasons for seven seasons at the most definitely with the best show for science fiction I've ever seen with a great storyline and didn't keep me bored just get me excited for the next episode

She was my favorite character.
Appreciate the tribute to her, but sound balance. Voices are more important than instrumentals. Especially when it's soft voices.
Jewel supposedly had to gain 20 pounds for the role of Kaylee. She went back to her normal weight after the show was cancelled. When they filmed the movie the producers were "nice" enough to let her play the role without the extra pounds.
Not really sure why Joss Whedon needed the Kaylee character to be a little heavier. She looked perfectly fine in Serenity.
