Don't be nervous about Vatsim, it's a very friendly community! You can start at smaller airports with less traffic initially just to get a feel for it :)
Finally a software with proper European Portuguese accents for English. Most software thinks Brazilian Portuguese is the default accent in Portugal (it is not). I'm pretty excited about this product, the Premium voices are insanely good! (And much closer to proper European Portuguese when pronouncing English, as the majority of Portuguese people and all ATC controllers in Lisbon, do know how to properly pronounce English) ;) Cheers from Portugal

Needs traffic injection distance and speed separation to have real competitive advantage and next step user experience with simulated ATC. Other competitive products also say working on traffic injection . Remains to be seen which one will have the best implementation . Also FS2024 will have much upgraded ATC. Remains to be seen. Bottom line better wait out until FS2024. Also any SIM ATC needs integration with FS2Crew and similar. Namely ATC integrated with Flying and Monitoring pilot flows and processes.

Hi Gavin, Thanks for set up presentation, I purchased the “basic” version today, I fly mostly GA A/C VFR SO INTERESTING SETTING UP MY FLIGHT AND aircraft on Sim Brief, I must say it’s very good and am pleased notice typical lower altitudes for VFR flights not available in request altitude change best lower value I could get was 5000 feet.Having said that it just seems to work.
Def gonna check this out! Looks really impressive from this vid. The only thing I can put my finger on so far is ATC’s use of the word “to”. Usually when I fly I would get cleared INBOM, cleared FL XXX or cleared 5000 ft without that little word to avoid misunderstandings:) Next thing to try: I’m gonna try to shoot a series of instrument approaches (RNAV/VOR/ILS/LOCALIZER etc.) via the aerodrome’s VOR to see how well ATC handles “Ready with intentions” which often use during IFR training ;) Keep up the great work!
Great way to fill in the dead air spaces of vatsim but I would suggest its better to be "all in or all out". As in if you're using beyond atc just disconnect form vatsim and vice versa

downloaded this today unfortunately its stuck on speech recognition error? shame seems a nice addition to MSFS2020 Hopefully get it working soon. UPDATE I now have the system working i was getting an error occurred starting the speech engine couldn't do a speech test etc. i changed the settings to premium voice and controller and it now works perfectly even though i have the basic pack.so anyone having issues with the basic pack and cant get the voice to work i suggest changing these settings first.
Anyone else having trouble tuning your radio frequencies from the stock ATC frequencies to the one Beyond ATC provides? Mine will switch over and then go right back to the original frequency.
i could not seem to know how to use beyond atc and vatsim with the 787 family because i could not get comm 2 to work at the same time as comm 1 if you could help me with this problem it would be great thanks
Gavin i have been seeing you use LPPT often, but Beyond ATC indicates runway 35 which is not in use for about 3 years. I have, probably like you, MK Studios LPPT which i use frequently, and as we can see the runway 35 isn´t also in use by MK studios , so do you know how or who may solve this question?

it wont start with getting a clearance, when i put in the clearance number, it just beeps and goes back to some other frequency, even when i click on the little headphones and click on clearance it wont bring it up, it changes back to a unknown frequency immediately can just push and start in a a320 and taxi to the runway without a altitude or anything!! just bought it today and cant even fly from KDFW to KSTL, i have no idea what altitude to start with - its not working and even after a couple reinstalls and a update still dont work .
Yes, Gavin shows it in the video. There is a "auto respond" feature that plays the audio to respond to ATC but not entirely sure if it costs credits or not. But you can also just click the replies your self.

@@TheStevehow No worries :) Think I'll hold off myself and see how the credits section goes. As from what I can tell you'll be using up 5000 per flight. which roughly lasts 6-7 flights out of 50k credits. Which will get very costly to run the premium voices.

@@TheStevehow Fair enough. I'll let it sit for a tad bit longer. Some of the EU accents are pretty awful to understand for the basic voices. Which is what I'd be looking at as I find spending $20-30 every 2 weeks to be insanely expensive for amount I fly for the premium voices.
Struggling with sound now have the aircraft engines coming thru headphones instead of pc speakers and gsx goes thru laptop and changed settings within sim to Realtek and still nothing
I don't get ot howcome we can't have the realistic voice packs for free it seems this is going to be a cash cow for the developers and to be honost it doesn't really give you the immersion when it messes up I've seen where the atc messes up and tries to get you to land without giving intercept headings for the ILS until this is resolved I won't be purchasing it I know alot are going to say we'll you get free voices so why not the premium your paying for a product you should get all of the product and it not directing you correctly well what's the point 😊
I just loaded it up yesterday, I can say I spent more time trying to speak first time really as I don’t do online flying haha Really good stuff for $30 with the Basic model hope they don’t change
Just had my first flight The good:- Taxi instructions were fine, Gave reasonable climb altitudes Handed over to different sector controller appropriately (no more ATC pinball yipee) I asked for descent close to my calculuted TOD and it cleared me down via appropriate VNAV altitude constraints Vectoring worked fine and brought me in at the right altitude with a nice long final approach. The Bad/Could do better- The first and biggest, while the sample basic controller voices you can try in the settings are fine and understandable, the (same) controller voice I had on departure, arrival and ATIS was mostly unintelligible. Data (bearings, altitudes) could be understood but things like turn left and right even a radio check was terrible. Ended up turning on auto response and reacting to the read backs. Could really do with an option to select a single basic controller voice if you wished. Take-off clearance was fine except there was no intial climb altitude given so I just flew the SID constraints until I was given higher. (More a tip) While you can set BATC to autotune the radios, unlike the default ATC it doesn't set your transponder. I wanted to fly an RNAV LPV approach but there doesn't seem to be a way to let BATC know that and I was instead vectored to the ILS approach. Final point, which may be 3rd party scenary related, but I was given a gate that seemed not to exist. To be clear this isn't a moan and I'm sure many of these issues are already been worked on, but I just wanted to share my initial observations.
If there's a published top altitude on a SID, no initial climb will be given, as you are expected to "Climb via SID" until cleared to your desired cruising altitude, or at least that's how it works on VATSIM and IRL
Ok, I'm sold. The basic voices are way better than I expected. I don't enjoy flying online because of my lack of training. This will be a good tool to get more comfortable with it.
Pressing "V" to bring the minimap up in-game and clicking on the airport also gives you all information about that airport, including all the frequencies.
Just finished my first flight from KDCA to KBOS in my A320. Departure was flawless. En route was perfect, even when my AP flaked out and got off course, the BATC controller alerted me. Only problem was that I never received a hand-off to approach or tower and had to flew the ILS and landing alone. I don’t think I did anything wrong, but perhaps I missed a step somewhere. This is an absolute game-changer for me. I just joined VATSIM, but I think this is a great alternative. I am loving it. Had my headset ready to go. I didn’t know to launch the app using admin, so Discord helped on that. I can’t believe how this changed the immersion level. I was stuttering like a fool as my brain struggled to adapt and shift into “interactive voice mode”. This really opens up incredible opportunities to learn and evolve as a virtual pilot. BATC is a solid win!
I did a few flights. My only issue is with the Default vs Premium voices. If you are in US you are 100% fine with the basic voices. However, in Brazil, it's really hard to understand the intruction. It's just broken, and that comes from a Brazilian that knows and is familiar with "Brazilian English". Even the premium voices in Brazil aren't great. I can't fathom that a Brazilian controller would have such bad English. It would be nice if those basic voices would improve with time, but I don't know exactly where they are getting them, if it's crowd source and it will learn with time.
like the auto tune auto respond to be voice activated. like, "hey (copilot) can you tune the radio or can you respond to the radio, or can you take over comms, I have comms, etc.
Being portuguese and familiar (obviously) with the portuguese english accent, -i found the basic voice's portuguese accent bad and hard to understand. But the premium voices... just wow. Accent on point.
Unfortunately, some of the local voices in Basic mode are really bad. I started flights from Dortmund, Warsaw and Montreal yesterday and in all cases I had to read up on what was being said. Couldn´t understand the given instructions. Unfortunately, the originally announced VR UI is postponed, which worsens the issue with the bad pronunciations for me under the glasses. It is Early Access and one can hope that things will improve. Besides, I've already spent 30$ on much worse things in MSFS.
thx for the video... but what I don't undertand (B. ATC is not very tranpatent since the beginning), in Basic, I don't have Controller and AI Voices according to the country or Airline? I need premium for this feature? I always understood, premium gives you more different voices in better quality, but also in Basic I get the correct country voices for both. another question, will this programm work in the feature without simbrief or even without any FPL for VFR flights? because, Simbrief does not create meaningful VFR plans , nor does it support the most GA Aircraft. When I'm going VFR, I don't want to create a FPL anytime.
So basically the supporters pack is their way of just asking for donations? The sim industry is so odd to me. Seems common place to ask for money before products are released. Ask for money for “special” features. The list seems to expand constantly.
Faro (LPFR) doesn't have taxiways? This is a major airport. Also, Portuguese voices are all messed up, they are not usable at all. Can I force not to use accents at least?
Not a fan of having to Top Up premium voices... You used it for a simple quick instruction and it already used 150 of 50,000. So essentially every 300 interactions with ATC you have to pay $10. I'd say there's at least a good 20 per flight, maybe more. That's not a lot of flights before you have to pay again (or use the very mediocre robot voice)...

It is advised you turn off MSFS ATC as to not get confused... . Or perhaps not as you might want to use those as background chatter... and just lower the volume.
Very impressive. I like how you can automatically respond or manually use the mike. Great for learning. However, (as we know) there are bugs and I have not yet completed a flight...
I really looking forward to have an ATC who also controls the AI traffic. I use P2ATC for now. I used FSHud, but somehow I can’t get it to work. I really miss Radar Contact from the P3D days. Very simple and very accurate ATC. Even today no one comes close. I have great expectations for BATC.
Great demo! I use P2ATC currently. The only feature missing from BeyondATC is the P2ATC active map. Also does BeyondATC need the Simbrief plan entered into the aircrafts FMC or does BeyondATC read the flight plan from Simbrief alone? Also can BeyondATC use VFR? Thanks.

Did my first flight a few minutes ago. Short one from KDCA to KPIT in the 737-800. Lightyears ahead of dealing with MSFS's default ATC, which I've had shut off for months, which makes for lonely flying. Really easy to pick up, especially for a non-pilot like me. A few times I had to repeat myself because I'd get mush mouth, but that's on me. I had to let the FO handle comms a few times because multitasking ain't my strong suit :) The basic voices are MORE than adequate for me - surprisingly so. So I won't need to spring for the premium voices... unless they convince my Senpai AirforceProud95 to lend his voice, in which case they can just HAVE my wallet...
Thanks for the video. I'm new to the idea of using ATC for my flight simming, and although I just installed VatSim, I've not seen coverage for my part of the world, where I practice. Beyond ATC will help fill that void. Looks to be a far more affordable alternative to Sayintentions. Looking forward to giving this a go. :)
I was looking forward to see this in action, so thanks very much for very detailed video. Unfortunately, this seems to be only for IFR flights, not for VFR, which I was hoping for and am flying. Would be great, if it could work for VFR and communicate live depending on situation as the build in atc is really basic. I have no doubt, that it will come eventually, maybe even build in in FS2024
bought it, it’s great the only problem I’ve had is when flying from Belfast to Cardiff I had a lady Spanish controller and I couldn’t understand a word. got around it by using auto respond and my co-pilot interpreted for me. Still think it’s brilliant though 😊
I understand that some simmers enjoy flying as the only plane on the entire planet, but for me its more enjoyable to fly in a AI populated skies rather than solo talking to a good AI. Im hoping for a release with traffic late summer early fall.
For those that have troubles setting up the right output sound device. You have to go to the Windows sound setting that lists all applications that currently connect to a sound driver. There you can click on BeyondATC and select each device for input / output. My guess was, that it had to do with the ingame settings of MSFS what turned out to be wrong for the case of beyondatc.

my attention span is that of a hamster when it comes to readbacks during a crowded airspace. AI ATC is godsent for practicing.
You can try text only mode or voice receive mode (where ATC talk to you but you use text)
Do not be nervous. I literally had a vatsim CONTROLLER with a stutter and he was still great. These controllers are understanding

What must we do in MCDU, when ATC indicates a different runway and probably a different sid that one indicate by SImbrief
Simply put in the new runway and SID that ATC gives you.

You would need to ask BATC dev team to amend their data.

I use GSX, this is usually compatible with the aircraft more so than ATC as it isn't related to GSX.

the answer is to turn off the default AI atc communications aka: the FO under the flight assistant drop down tab

beyond atc recogniton test with my micropfone no audio was detecs
I also struggled at first but then I realised it was set to incorrect input. Just check your input mic is set correctly

Bought the program installed. Well, but MSFS crashes as soon as I activate Batc. All other programs were not active. This still needs to be corrected.

I don't get ot howcome we can't have the realistic voice packs for free it seems this is going to be a cash cow for the developers and to be honost it doesn't really give you the immersion when it messes up I've seen where the atc messes up and tries to get you to land without giving intercept headings for the ILS until this is resolved I won't be purchasing it I know alot are going to say we'll you get free voices so why not the premium your paying for a product you should get all of the product and it not directing you correctly well what's the point 😊

Just had my first flight
The good:-
Taxi instructions were fine,
Gave reasonable climb altitudes
Handed over to different sector controller appropriately (no more ATC pinball yipee)
I asked for descent close to my calculuted TOD and it cleared me down via appropriate VNAV altitude constraints
Vectoring worked fine and brought me in at the right altitude with a nice long final approach.
The Bad/Could do better-
The first and biggest, while the sample basic controller voices you can try in the settings are fine and understandable, the (same) controller voice I had on departure, arrival and ATIS was mostly unintelligible. Data (bearings, altitudes) could be understood but things like turn left and right even a radio check was terrible. Ended up turning on auto response and reacting to the read backs. Could really do with an option to select a single basic controller voice if you wished.
Take-off clearance was fine except there was no intial climb altitude given so I just flew the SID constraints until I was given higher.
(More a tip) While you can set BATC to autotune the radios, unlike the default ATC it doesn't set your transponder.
I wanted to fly an RNAV LPV approach but there doesn't seem to be a way to let BATC know that and I was instead vectored to the ILS approach.
Final point, which may be 3rd party scenary related, but I was given a gate that seemed not to exist.
To be clear this isn't a moan and I'm sure many of these issues are already been worked on, but I just wanted to share my initial observations.
If there's a published top altitude on a SID, no initial climb will be given, as you are expected to "Climb via SID" until cleared to your desired cruising altitude, or at least that's how it works on VATSIM and IRL
Hope you are ok with your demotion cause as of now on you will serve as FO on my flights😂

Ok, I'm sold. The basic voices are way better than I expected. I don't enjoy flying online because of my lack of training. This will be a good tool to get more comfortable with it.

Pressing "V" to bring the minimap up in-game and clicking on the airport also gives you all information about that airport, including all the frequencies.

When desperate, that's how I get weather for obscure airports that don't have METAR online.
Just finished my first flight from KDCA to KBOS in my A320. Departure was flawless. En route was perfect, even when my AP flaked out and got off course, the BATC controller alerted me. Only problem was that I never received a hand-off to approach or tower and had to flew the ILS and landing alone. I don’t think I did anything wrong, but perhaps I missed a step somewhere.
This is an absolute game-changer for me. I just joined VATSIM, but I think this is a great alternative. I am loving it. Had my headset ready to go. I didn’t know to launch the app using admin, so Discord helped on that. I can’t believe how this changed the immersion level. I was stuttering like a fool as my brain struggled to adapt and shift into “interactive voice mode”.
This really opens up incredible opportunities to learn and evolve as a virtual pilot. BATC is a solid win!
same thing happened to me en route from LOWW to LSGG. I had to reload and select descent.
I did a few flights. My only issue is with the Default vs Premium voices. If you are in US you are 100% fine with the basic voices. However, in Brazil, it's really hard to understand the intruction. It's just broken, and that comes from a Brazilian that knows and is familiar with "Brazilian English". Even the premium voices in Brazil aren't great. I can't fathom that a Brazilian controller would have such bad English. It would be nice if those basic voices would improve with time, but I don't know exactly where they are getting them, if it's crowd source and it will learn with time.
Yea so the regional dialects are actually atrocious? I can't understand single thing any of the controllers are saying
like the auto tune auto respond to be voice activated. like, "hey (copilot) can you tune the radio or can you respond to the radio, or can you take over comms, I have comms, etc.
Being portuguese and familiar (obviously) with the portuguese english accent, -i found the basic voice's portuguese accent bad and hard to understand. But the premium voices... just wow. Accent on point.
Unfortunately, some of the local voices in Basic mode are really bad. I started flights from Dortmund, Warsaw and Montreal yesterday and in all cases I had to read up on what was being said. Couldn´t understand the given instructions. Unfortunately, the originally announced VR UI is postponed, which worsens the issue with the bad pronunciations for me under the glasses. It is Early Access and one can hope that things will improve. Besides, I've already spent 30$ on much worse things in MSFS.
I'm gonna wait a few weeks but I do plan on buying this thanks for your video!
Finally we can abandon the inbuilt MSFS ATC. 👍
Hopefully this will make some vatsim controllers take note that being rude and short will eventually drive people to these products.

but what I don't undertand (B. ATC is not very tranpatent since the beginning), in Basic, I don't have Controller and AI Voices according to the country or Airline? I need premium for this feature?
I always understood, premium gives you more different voices in better quality, but also in Basic I get the correct country voices for both.
another question, will this programm work in the feature without simbrief or even without any FPL for VFR flights? because, Simbrief does not create meaningful VFR plans , nor does it support the most GA Aircraft.
When I'm going VFR, I don't want to create a FPL anytime.
So basically the supporters pack is their way of just asking for donations? The sim industry is so odd to me. Seems common place to ask for money before products are released. Ask for money for “special” features. The list seems to expand constantly.
Faro (LPFR) doesn't have taxiways? This is a major airport. Also, Portuguese voices are all messed up, they are not usable at all. Can I force not to use accents at least?
And after my comment, I saw the rest of the video and noticed your departure was LPPT. And the voices... so so so bad :(
Wonder how far away the ai traffic is? Not fun when tower dosen't control it. Will you need Fs Traffic for liveris?
Not a fan of having to Top Up premium voices... You used it for a simple quick instruction and it already used 150 of 50,000. So essentially every 300 interactions with ATC you have to pay $10. I'd say there's at least a good 20 per flight, maybe more. That's not a lot of flights before you have to pay again (or use the very mediocre robot voice)...

It is advised you turn off MSFS ATC as to not get confused... . Or perhaps not as you might want to use those as background chatter... and just lower the volume.
Very impressive. I like how you can automatically respond or manually use the mike. Great for learning. However, (as we know) there are bugs and I have not yet completed a flight...
I really looking forward to have an ATC who also controls the AI traffic. I use P2ATC for now. I used FSHud, but somehow I can’t get it to work.
I really miss Radar Contact from the P3D days. Very simple and very accurate ATC. Even today no one comes close. I have great expectations for BATC.

Great demo! I use P2ATC currently. The only feature missing from BeyondATC is the P2ATC active map. Also does BeyondATC need the Simbrief plan entered into the aircrafts FMC or does BeyondATC read the flight plan from Simbrief alone? Also can BeyondATC use VFR? Thanks.

Did my first flight a few minutes ago. Short one from KDCA to KPIT in the 737-800. Lightyears ahead of dealing with MSFS's default ATC, which I've had shut off for months, which makes for lonely flying. Really easy to pick up, especially for a non-pilot like me. A few times I had to repeat myself because I'd get mush mouth, but that's on me. I had to let the FO handle comms a few times because multitasking ain't my strong suit :)
The basic voices are MORE than adequate for me - surprisingly so. So I won't need to spring for the premium voices... unless they convince my Senpai AirforceProud95 to lend his voice, in which case they can just HAVE my wallet...
Thanks for the video. I'm new to the idea of using ATC for my flight simming, and although I just installed VatSim, I've not seen coverage for my part of the world, where I practice. Beyond ATC will help fill that void. Looks to be a far more affordable alternative to Sayintentions. Looking forward to giving this a go. :)

I was looking forward to see this in action, so thanks very much for very detailed video. Unfortunately, this seems to be only for IFR flights, not for VFR, which I was hoping for and am flying. Would be great, if it could work for VFR and communicate live depending on situation as the build in atc is really basic. I have no doubt, that it will come eventually, maybe even build in in FS2024
bought it, it’s great the only problem I’ve had is when flying from Belfast to Cardiff I had a lady Spanish controller and I couldn’t understand a word. got around it by using auto respond and my co-pilot interpreted for me. Still think it’s brilliant though 😊
I'm happy with pilot2atc. Maybe if they get all of their features implemented with 2024 compatibility. Then I will consider.

I understand that some simmers enjoy flying as the only plane on the entire planet, but for me its more enjoyable to fly in a AI populated skies rather than solo talking to a good AI. Im hoping for a release with traffic late summer early fall.
Until implented with Ai traffic, I will hold off. Will be very quiet on the radio for the most part. Would be great with FSLTL👌
For those that have troubles setting up the right output sound device. You have to go to the Windows sound setting that lists all applications that currently connect to a sound driver. There you can click on BeyondATC and select each device for input / output. My guess was, that it had to do with the ingame settings of MSFS what turned out to be wrong for the case of beyondatc.
