Does anyone else get SUPER PISSED when they see something so special just rotting away?? Makes my blood boil!
There are SO many Ferrari enthusiasts who would do right by this car.....if they were just given a chance. The second I heard "Saudi prince", I knew this poor car was just used and abused. Stuff like this is just maddening.
Yup, I see it daily and it makes my blood boil.
been after a 72 240Z for about 10+ years now with the owner piling up garbage on the car in the garage.
racer98 feel bad for you
The owner should be shot. It’s a crime what he’s doing I really don’t understand why he wants to torture this piece of art. Can’t someone steal the car and fix it?
This project looks like a AMMO NYC partnership
Yea them boys would clean her up bonny
@Joe Amor I think there are detailers in the UK just as capable as him.
Came here to write the same thing!
My thought exactly!
White details would be great
It's absolutely criminal that a car like this can be just left to deteriorate.
Totally agreed. Why leave that beautiful car to sit there. Take the money and be peaceful in the mind that someone is caring for it.
My old neighbor had a 440 Charger sitting in his yard for years. When asked about it he said "I will never sell it. It tried to kill me, it will do the same to you. Let it rot"
Also found a 70 Barracuda being used as a shed.
"If I restored it I could get 60k tomorrow". People gonna people.
100% agree
On the upside, its completely original. Dismantle it, clean EVERYTHING assamble it. Replace seals, a little bit of welding here and there and its good to go. It doesnt look like there is missing something....
None of ANYBODIES business ONLY THE OWNERS
The guy is obviously a hoarder, did you see all those bin bags in the front garden ?!!!!
Disgusting. I hope I never come across him
You are absolutely correct state of the garden the bin bags driveway etc. Hoarding is a mental illness, and they probably cant drive . I feel sorry for their neighbour’s having to live next to that health hazard. What a nightmare that will only end badly.
It was probably willed to him or something. If he actually earned it, he’d never let it get to the point it is in right now.
ciscobrasco 18:36 maybe you should take your own advice???
In the video that I watched completely, he says he talked to the “current” owner who is adamant on not selling it. Not the Saudi prince who “originally” owned it 😂
Crikey! What a beaut! Save it Scott
I'm trying dude !
Restored it is worth 350k. Must have lots of cash if he can afford to let it go to pieces.
@@craigrobertson7938 more like £200k (several for sale around that price atm)
But that still means its worth over £100k today as it stands
@@Ratarossa I feel complete dismay. Get into the guys head and ask yourself why he wants to keep it. Only then do you have a chance of talking to him on his level.
@@nickholbrook3454 Yes probably 200 - minus 50 k engine / transmission, 50k other mechanical bits, 25k paint and subframe / rust, and 25k contingency leaving it more like 50k to leave a buyer any chance of making money on it.
If this is the only 512BBi RHD in Bianco white, I use to see it in Esher back early 90's, late 80's. Stunning car.
Who's here after he bought it?
I'm just a little late. 2 years late. Lol. Found this series from watching his vin wiki episode. It's crazy how this channel has never shown up in my recommended videos. I watch a lot of car channels. So not sure why that is. But I'm glad I found it now. Now I have to watch the whole series. I'm excited.
Thanks for sharing. These 512 BBI's are beautiful and it is a shame that this one is in such disarray. I was really hoping to get to see more of it on the channel. Fingers crossed, keep pursuing, this one is perfect for you!
Such a beautiful Ferrari Classic. One of the best looking classic’s I have ever seen.
Give him a free car cover to help protect it until he's ready to give it up.
Too late now
To lazy to go out and put it on anyway
The ignoramus will take it off again just to punish this innocent baby even more
Well, we can see from his driveway that his idea of a holiday is sitting in the back of a van in a field... 😂 so clearly not right in the head in many ways.
haha good one!
My favourite kind of holiday, hmm now you mention it I have 8 cars sat about in the garden doing nothing, you could be on to something there :)
@ciscobrasco at what time in the video?
"When's it last serviced?" I can tell you it's due.
Yup, they surely voided the warranty.
What a sacrilege, if he would have at least invested in a car cover and giving it a wash once year!
I really don't understand the pleasure of watching a car rot away.
Make him a offer to restore the car at least!
I think there are serious psychiatric issues at play when something like this happens
It's literally a mental thing for greedy owners who'd rather let things rot and say 'I own that' then seeing them loved. Sadly it's not even exclusive to cars. I've seen it with watches, motorcycles, houses, etc.
I reckon the dirt on the windscreen has helped save the dash from cracking
Possibly the worlds most expensive “not buying a car cover 12 years ago” ever 😭😭
they never have the right cover for your car in Halfords
Glad to see this channel growing faster and faster!!!😁😁😁👏
I’m glad you were finally able to buy this thing and give it the love it needs and deserves
Cool historical note Rats: the 512 was designed by the same guy who did the Dino, the Daytona, the 308, and the F40: Leonardo Fioravanti. You can see his amazing achievement in defining Ferrari design, he was truly the greatest of the Pininfarina designers.
He also did the Testarossa!
Cheers Chris I didn't know that
@@Ratarossa Check out his book: "Il Cavallino Nel Cuore: Autobiography of a designer", it has his entire career in it and he talks extensively about his work on these amazing Ferrari designs.
Why would anyone just leave it rotting like that? Such a waste.
Saudi's
,probably stolen, so cannot sell it...
@ciscobrasco No, it says it was once owned by a Saudi Prince. Do you think a Saudi prince would live in a semi detached house in some random estate near Gloucester?
Really hope your channel grows bigger and bigger! Love your content!
I really hoped till the end you were going to get it. Hope you can get another one like this. Keep going. Thanks
The 512BB is my favorite Ferrari....forget the Enzo the F40 GTO's Dino this is my favorite with maybe the 400i being second. I saw in a coffee table Ferrari book where Pinifarina did a experimental body shell concept on a 512 in a metallic lime green that was absolutely beautiful. Have loved the 512 ever since. This one certainly needs some love, good steam clean inside and out and ozone on the interior for good measure. That mold is everywhere
Jon Maynard 400i 🤨
I can never understand what pleasure some one gets by watching a lovely classic just ROT away and deteriorate ?maybe its the pleasure of just owning it what ever the condition ! who knows, what a shame.
“Owner is adamant he will never sell it” So he’d rather see it rot for another 15 years. Should be a crime... Subbed after seeing you bought this car. Looking forward to seeing you care for it and bring it back to it’s former glory
Glad to see you got it! Look forward to the videos.
I had that Ferrari poster on my wall in the 80s , nice find .
When somebody says they will never sell something that is worth so much and deteriorating so badly, you have to question their sanity......
People with mental health issues can be perfectly sane. Emotions are not predictable and they are not the same for everyone and can make people make decisions that no one else understands.
Maybe you should stop being so judgmental.
Fascinating, seen this posted around social media, thanks for sharing it with everyone. I know there's probably more to the story but it still makes no sense why the owner won't sell it...
Loved the video. Too bad it has a sad ending. I’ve let go of very sentimental projects, but I loved them so much that I couldn’t stand to see them set. I let them go to people I knew would love them just as much and get them back on the road to their former glory.
Fingers crossed the owner changes his mind & gives you a call. Can never understand why so many great cars are abandoned to oblivion by owners who also say that they love them?
They genuinly think it’ll be more worth down road. Little does the stupid know... he’s destroying it.. these wankers are everywhere
Yeah but look at the state of that house, bin bags everywhere, oil drums and shit filling the drive, garden overgrown. I bet his neighbours love him. What a tosser.
Sad really because you know it’s going to sit there for a couple more years.
Apparently not 😁😁
Another great video, love them all...geat soundtrack to this one aswell...good taste !
this car has been shared on multiple websites and facebook pages over the year, congrats on being the first person to document full access of it
Excellent car, greetings from Argentina!
SAVE IT SAVEEE IT... ITS SO DAMN NICE AND DOESNT LOOK LIKE ITS BEEN DAMAGED TOO BAD
Great video Scott. I knew you were the man for it straight away. Fingers crossewd for that mirracle
How pitiful is that? Such a beauty and no one to bring it back to its former glory? I have an 83 year old relative that has a beautiful old 1967 Ford Fairlane with only 61,000 original miles on it. However, it now sits in a field rotting away, all windows have been busted out, but he refuses to sell it. I don’t understand some of these people’s thought process! Good grief!
I'm still waiting for the "tragic story." I mean, it's sad that its got into that state, but I thought we were going to learn WHY it got into that state.
If the owner really loved the car he should sell it and see it back in the road. :/
love these chasing cars vids , keep it up Scott
Glad you like them!
Oh my days. What a shame. Why why why ? I can't believe that someone would just leave it there to rot. Hopefully the owner has a change of heart. Here's hoping. Great video again. Keep up the good work. Andy.
Ferrari should send some gentlemen over from Sicily to have a "conversation" with the owner about selling the car on
Maranello is in Emilia Romagna, not Sicily. Do you know the difference between Scotland and Ireand?
@@spiritualcramp8000 Do you not know a mafia reference when you hear one??? Anyways I hear the mob in Naples has way more influence, money and soldiers now days.
@@AaronSmith-kr5yf i always met great guys in Naples much better then any other northern ''civile'' fukn shithole and its one of the few places i'd hang around without my iron. you should go there and check it out with your eyes instead of trusting some crappy TV movie.
@@AaronSmith-kr5yf ..still mafia reference is nonsense referred to Maranello. you know no shit of italian culture. and any connection with the two things are just into your mind not the real world.
@@spiritualcramp8000 There's a fine line between being technically correct and being a petulant argumentative pain in the ass. You are walking that line.
One of the most beautiful Ferraris and so evocative of the 1980's. Leaving this to rot is such a shame, the owner must be an idiot.
Testarossa stands for the Ferrari 80's. This is a 70's design, and one of the most beautiful imho.
I love how the oil temp gauge takes centre position in the dash.
Love the trio stereo and graphic equaliser🤘🏻. I’m surprised it hasn’t been vandalised or stolen off his drive...!!
Scott: Bug the heck out of him every month for years to come. He'll break eventually.
Looks like the did 🍾🍾🍾😁😁😁
The owner is a waster. What a shame.
He's a 'waster'? How many Ferraris have you got in your driveway?
Joe 90 Roll2003 he can yes, but that doesn't mean he should.
No he's not. Its his to decide what he wants to do with it. He obviously had enough about it him to buy such a beautiful machine in the first place. He probably has serious mental health issues so don't be so unpleasant. The owner matters more than a car.
Heartbreaking to think of that beauty rotting away ....keep on him Ratarossa , persistence pays. Bigger job than it looks I think though , all the running gear brakes/suspension etc will need replacing or refurbishing but the big unknown would be engine/transmission and chassis rot. Hopefully he emptied the fuel tank before lay up. Good luck ,I hope it happens.....
One of the best substitution finds in a long time, just wish the 512bbi playlist was in running order
I can change that, good suggestion
Can’t believe someone would let a beauty like that rot outside
Damn.... that car is perfect for your new project...
Right up ur ally...would live to see it in ur fleet...Good luck with the Acquisition
Fabulous find. As a kid, the 512 was one of my dream cars and it's still very desirable.
The search for Ferrari’s is a great watch
The 512 sound beautiful on full chant. Leaving this to decay is an absolute crime.
Just round the corner from me never knew it was there would love to work on something like that nice find and save 👍🏼
😎 I've always loved these.
When I was a kid I didn't think that it was that much different to a 308, until I plated Top Trumps,
The most eco-friendly Ferrari every. Things were literally growing on it
I’ve seen so many posts about this I never thought someone would save it
It isn’t being saved.
yes it is
@@JackScooter17 It's being saved? By who? When? Care to provide proof of that?
there was a photo posted a couple of days ago of this car being loaded on the back of a recovery truck meaning someone bought it
@@JackScooter17 Interesting. Hopefully there's more to the story.
Well, this was sad, thought you were going to get to save it. Thanks for sharing.
I tried dude
Absolutely beautiful barn/driveway find!
Owner "Look mate, one day I'm going to win the lottery and I'll fix my car up, I buy a ticket every week, you just wait and see!"
Back for a second look at this video... I wonder why !?
On a side note a guy who lived near my parents house had this car in red, I think around 79/80 he also had a silver shadow 2, nice pair of cars ! He had a joinery manufacturing business, he used to drive it to work in overalls and a tool belt with a hammer on ! I used to love it when he pulled up a local paper shop to get his paper, it sounded immense and looked massive
Can’t wait to see this project hopefully in the upcoming days/weeks!
My favourite Ferrari. Letting that car rot should be a criminal offence.
Yup - jail please
My Kärcher and I wish to know the location of this car.
You will destroy the rusty panels of the car, never use a pressure washer on first wash on a rusty old classic 👌
Phil Marsay karcher are shit so wouldn’t worry
@@phill3144 LoL and he pretends he could take better care of the car blowing it away, peope are so sadly funny fumetimes.
No mate, use a Nilfisk👍
Those seats are just incredible...stunning shape design and the blue with white piping..what a spec to go with the white body. It will rise again!
We had to go back and watch this again resulting from your sneak peak 😉
What a waste of a fine machine
I didn't know you uploaded horror movies 🤔
I feel your pain I never be lucky enough to own such a car but been a petrol head this just makes me feel so upset. Seeing such a stunning car rotting away and the owner not letting it go to a fantastic home to be saved.
Man I really enjoy your videos.
"Rear wheel drive, these ones" Rofl
What’s the story with this now then, since it’s been loaded on a transporter and moved in the last few days?????
This is the kind of car that I will love detail and restore. 😍 I can see a lot potential in that Ferrari. 😍
Oh crap... i would ve loved to see you restore that... it s crazy how in england the moss grows on cars sitting outside!
Clean it up and put a cover on it till he's ready to sell
What a shame, he should at least cover it up or park it in a garage.
You should get in touch with AMMO NYC to clean that to perfection 💪🏼
Heart breaking to see such a beautiful old ferrari just rusting away into dust.
Save it save it !!!
Definitely essential travel lol
Amazing that you were allowed to look over the car so much, if he's not going to sell it. Definitely needs you to save it!
It could actually be the first step to him coming around to selling it , softly softly approach could work .
That's one stunning car and looks to have enormous potential, amazing interior.
he could make 30k in an afternoon just by washing it.
To the owner of this cool 512BBi: If you love something, set it free. This is so sad.
Pasquale Exactly! Let someone else enjoy, love and appreciate this car. The owner is an absolute moron.
@@davidcollis4758 maybe he tried, but he didn't find the right next Owner.
Fascinating story! As some of you already mentioned, it must be a hoarder thing. The owner is probably not interested in money or in saving classic cars for the future. He is just stubborn and the more someone wants to buy the car, the more determined he will be to keep it. Truly sad.
Every time he up shifts and down shifts like that i can just imagine a few hundred tacked on to the overall upkeep of the vehicle.
This is the ultimate illustration of the self-centred, disposable society that we have turned ourselves into. Tragic.
Edit: having seen Scott’s latest post (11.12.20), common sense has evidently prevailed.
I'd say the complete opposite it true here.
Give it to Ammo NYC and it will look as new ;)
for only $20000
@@TheMatthyssen worth it in this case.
I also learned from a recent Issimi episode that the BB does not stand for berlinetta boxer. Instead it stands for either berlinetta bialbero which means twin cam or Brigitte Bardot. The first one sounds more probable but who knows.
As a 20 year old I fixed a 512BB during an internship. Needed a new clutch, the test drive afterwards was the best part. The car wasn’t in the best shape, but man that sound!
surprised someone hasn’t stolen it, sat out like that
It’s got the best anti theft ever - Seized everything
Is the owner an idiot? why would he/she let it rot?
Sad to see it rot away like this, it really hurts to see it in this state. Thanks for at least trying to save it, hopefully the owner changes his mind but it's not looking good.
I absolutely love how Ferrari owners and enthusiasts take care of their cars. I love my ‘89 328. F40 is next.
offer to detail it for him , would make a good vid. and buy him a car cover.
would make big hit
Another one of those "love it to death " owners. I wouldn't sell it of I had it either but it would've been in a garage. By the way, did you talk to his wife? ;)
I got a great deal on an E36 M3 a few years back using that tactic
"did you talk to his wife?" that is the best comment!
This gem needs to be saved, hope the owner realizes that as well at some point...🙏🙏
That’s absolutely stunning I want one
