- Lords of The Fallen has done something no other souls like game has done before, that being they Added different starter classes you're able to unlock depending on the type of ending you decided to go for. So in today's video I'll be going over each and every one of them and what they start out with to see if replaying the game 3 whole times for all 3 endings is truly worth it!

you forgot to include the dark crusader class for those that dont or didnt upgrade to digital deluxe version of the game
This is gotten through a questline, not an ending. It’s just like the other 9 starter classes but slightly better with the pendent and gear defensively. The ending ones are the only ones worth it minus putrid child

Putrid Child class is the only one that you should try to get first as it's the only one with stat spread thats good for umbral at the start
If you want to try out Radiance or Rogar you at the very least have the starter options, and the only class that can go umbral is the condemned because of 9 across the board
You can unlock them more easily afterwards as the umbral ending requires you to kill important npcs
Agreed. I'm considering making a new character with that class after I complete the Umbral ending if I have the patience to deal with the crazy Ostrava-delicate quest requirements and not find yet another way to fail it because an NPC teleports to a new area of disappears from existence.
e would say to do the three endings (in case you are going into platinum) and then pick one of the "secret" classes e get everything else for the plat.

I mean my pure umbral mage started off as pyro. I just had to put 10 points in radiance and was good to go
The 4 unlockable classes are more or less simply more convenient templates for very specific builds:
-Dark Crusader= Str/Rad.
-Radiant Purifier= Dex/Rad
-Lord= Str/Inf
-Purtrid Child= Rad/Inf
Outside of these specific stat orientations, the base classes are still relevant to make builds not set towards said stat orientations. An example is how Orian Preacher is better for going pure Rad than either Dark Crusader or Radiant Purifier.
I started a new play through with the radiant purifier and spec’d heavily into radiance using Pieta’s sword and it’s just absolutely broken. Radiance magic is absolutely insane and broken too so the game has been so much more easier than playing with Dark Crusader
most classes can break this game. if your first play-through is hard, you're doing it wrong. dark crusaders are str characters and the best str weapons trivialize the content with the right set up. peita was the hardest boss in entire game for me as a dark crusader, which was before i learned how to build my character. Faithful Bludgeon absolutely smacks and is available very early on. with that hammer, you will chunk bosses. then the sword of skin and tooth, and then the iron wayfarer's hammer. get your vit to 40, end to 20ish, then just pump up str until 75 and everything dies easy.
I just started my play through on this class and it's been pretty dope so far. Kinda going for a glass cannon sorta build so there's still a little difficulty if I get hit late game it'll really hurt lol
The putrid child seems ideal for a duel daggers poison build. You can get the umbral spells from the hidden lamp guy in the hub. I honestly think it could be good with just a small amount of farming to get your health and endurance up a bit.

The putrid child is currently my class on second playthrough and it’s fun for a large portion of the game with loads of gimmicks but then after the depths you get what I can only describe as dark bead and then the games over ( also you can get two putrid child swords and cast umbral weapon to make soul flay an actual good idea. Gets you tunes guaranteed to boot)

Healing sigil is actually amazing. Curing status effects is so useful for lots of tough enemies, the heal over time in its nice to keep you healthy when you make the enemy fight in your little buff arena lol.
Once you get mana regeneration on a shield, this spell just makes exploration resource-free. You can top off after every fight and you'll get the mana back fast enough the cost doesn't hurt too much.
Great for paladin characters
Barrage of echo is viable, u just gotta lock off and aim towards the ground when ur near the enemy, practice and you'll be able to handle bosses easily.

I just blasted big bosses with Lingering Despair. Don't think i've ever killed Spurned Progeny faster.
Yeah that spell is my go to for huge damage he don't seem to know much bout umbral biulds that starting class is actually the best one I thought it's worth putting some levels in strenth agility when you already have rad/inf at 15 and health at 12 that's a awesome class you only need 10 levels to get the rosmunds sword and because of starting with 15 in both damage stats you will have both to atleast 25-30 by the time you get it it's crazy I'm going for the umbral ending just hope I don't miss a step somewhere I read everything you gotta do and there is so much shit to do to get that ending but it will be worth it I'm excited for a second playthrough once I beat it

The main reason you go for the umbral ending is mostly for Eliannes sword to pair with Pieta's
Putrid child is the best stat wise for making a umbral build. So for for those who like to limit their levels its a keen class for that build type.
I was wondering why the radiant purifier polearm was doing so much damage off the start. The weapon is really good and fun to use.

Agree with you 100%. Got the radiant purifier for my first playthrough and then speed ran the umbral ending. Putrid child was definitely NOT worth the effort. Going to work on getting the Lord class next.
Thinking about combining the putrid Child with “stick” secret weapon and the catalyst that has A scaling off rad and inf both. Pretty sure the endgame result will be on par with any of the current meta builds.

If it's in the game, I want them all. The Putrid Child may be weak but it's the ONLY class that starts with Umbra spells and you'll get a start to use all class spells. It is a pain to get with Demon Peata boss.
Honestly my first play through i did condemned and built it into an umbral build, was underwhelming and then respec to a paladin build and 1/2 way through. It was so much stronger
I feel like ng+ is just meant as just a challenge whereas the developers aimed for a styke of replayability with unlockable classes so instead of ng+ being the main form of replayability you just choose a different class
I see what they're going for but it makes ng+ so niche that most people dont even bother with it
They added shrines to +1 you get 0 shrines in +2 and while it's annoying it is fun and alot more of a challenge if you played legit you'll be about 175 to 190 and let's be real ur not running 800 vestige seeds but I think it was smart darksouls type games are meant to be hard the bigger the challenge the better it gets

Putrid child is the only umbral class. While it's weaker than the other two, the other two are just stronger versions of classes that already exist.
People are sleeping on the Umbral builds. Combine wither damage with poison damage and you'll be able to kill an enemy quick and easy. Cause wither damage with your spells or wither weapons, and every time the poison hits, all that withered life is affected and drained.
The Lord appeals to me the most with its power and infernal attributes.
Lord class was definitely the best one, took me 5 hours grinding a character to the umbral ending just for that :/
Radiant is a better long term build because healing spell are broke af in end game but lord is the better one at the start

I am on my 2nd Playthru with Putrid Child and although its weak dealing physical damage, it requires synergy of damage types (Ex. Poison/Wither). With a little skill, gear and planning you can start wrecking shop around midgame. Dual Fungus Pickaxe buffed with wither damage , The Bloodbane RIng, & The Pendant of Burden is what I used. I am having a blast now @ midgame now. To be honest it the class kinda sucked until I beat The Hushed Saint
I started with the dark crusader and made it into a str+umbral and I just kind of nuke everything with rosamunds sword. I have fun with the putrid child but the purification should be switched out for umbral or poison weapon at the start.
These starting classes make me wish we could start a new game in new game+ with these classes
Umbral magic is actually stupid powerful.
purifier is a better start than the preacher, by a good bit, but nothing insane, radiant is just uber op. the halberd it starts with is good, the piercer spell is before lower calrath, so good but nothing crazy. overall a much better start, but nothing insane.
lord on the other hand has multiple end-game spells, end-game armor, 2 rings AND an end-game weapon that is REALLY good. the 2 non-adyr spells, the armor, and the weapon are all in the final area of the game.
putrid child is the best possible umbral start, especially considering the sword it starts with is one of the best umbral weapons in the game (similar to lord for inferno weapons), and it starts with multiple spells that each are useful.
another benefit that all 3 have are the stats. lord and purifier start way higher level than basic classes, and putrid child has the optimal umbral stat distribution.
they all also have late-game armor, with the lord's armor being in the final area.
overall, i do think the classes are worth it IF you start the game as strength, agility or quality.
or, for instance, if you want an inferno/strength hybrid build, the Lord class is actually a really good start for that.
purifier i forgot it's melee stat, but i think it's dex, not certain.
umbral has 8/8 so terrible for melee, but they don't really need strength or agility.
If you want to go pure umbral and care about optimization, putrid child is the best with only 8 str/agi.
people saying putrid child isnt the best class in the game makes me so sad, it may be a little weaker at the beginning but once you have stats/spells umbral is completely broken.

You "grind out" the putrid child class for the secret final boss and best ending to the game. Not to mention the cool gear you get from that boss. Its the ending i would chose every time after unlocking the other 2 classes
Adyr is my favorite ending in terms of story. The extra boss from umbral ending is nice but it's also annoying that you have to kill all your npcs for it.

I’m glad I bought this game on Black Friday discount. It feels like a mobile game to me on PlayStation 5, not that I would know what a mobile game feels like I’m not 10 years old but this is what I imagine they feel like.

so i beat the game and got the lords class and i think that the reward system for beating the game is pretty dull like cmon you have to restart fresh i really hope there's dlcs to come bc i see no other reason not to just continue ng +
New patch coming out soon.......option to start new game plus and keep all stats and vestiges......or start fresh......more options coming soon after that
I just beat the game yesterday. Got the radiant purifier class unlock. I’m not going into NG+ but I may just start a new character and attempt to platinum the game. Go back and do side quests I missed.
You can go back on NG0 and keep the same character and finish up for platinum

I elect to use Invigorating Aura while throwing myself into the mobs with a Gut's styled Berserker / Ludwigs Holy Blade can of ass whoopin!!! 🤣😂 but Radiance of tenacity, I should give a try. I'm at Lvl 121 and so far can get through most without using no more than 2 Sanguinarex heals, I usually rely on the stones, the healing spear (Throwables) or the invigorating aura (Radiance spell) and health regains from Runes on my weapon and catalysts... I love my build so far!!! Although, I'm not holy, I'd rather convert to Inferno 🤣
Is each class for each ending? It looks like the lord is the inferno ending, putrid child for umbral and the normal holy ending for the radiant purifier
No classes are worth it really because you can build any character into whatever you want. If classes had specific traits or perks it might be. But they don’t
that's not really the case, because if you don't choose class that fits the play-style you want, then you're wasting stat points.

The intro is outdated. They changed NG+, there is NG+0 now and vestiges are slowly disappearing from NG+1 - NG+3.
TBH… I’m a bit disappointed to hear about putrid child class, b/c I’m playing a radiance build first playthrough (& enjoying it) but wanted to get the hardest (umbral) ending first. For my next/second playthrough, I plan on making an umbral build which, though it may struggle early-mid game, should slap mid-late game (w infinite casts etc). Thx for video, Kranix!! 💪🏻🔥😎
I did the same thing, went for Putrid child first since I wanted a quality build to test everything in my second playthrough and I was like bro what is this garbage 😭
I started a putrid child playthrough yesterday and so far it has been really fun, though I suspect a lot of that also comes from the improved parry sounds which are absolutely lovely now.
Definitely the hardest start tho, even Condemned was easier. That putrid child sword just doesn't do damage (The frost proc does a lot tho so it still works against weak enemies) until you get a weapon buff for it. And I don't know if wither damage doesn't count for regaining your own wither health but that weapon barely heals my wither health which means my full healthbar was white pretty often in bossfights.

@@TheVDaddyo You get your first umbral buff spell at some point between congregator of flesh and hushed saint so you just have to get to that point and then you should be fine. Before that you could also use radiant weapon after putting 3 more points in radiance. And you could also just switch to a different weapon with low str and agility requirements for the early game, I just wanted to stick with the putrid child sword because I don't mind a bit of an extra challenge. That weapon might also work better if you focus more on dodging than parrying since then you won't run into the problem of not being able to regain your wither health as often.
I switched from radiant biuld to umbral and it's the best choice I made and ended up liking the game 10x more using rosmunds sword the damage you get is almost too much even end game most enemys die in 2-3 hits and I my stats are actually really low I only have 35 in rad/inf it's hard to do a umbral biuld in a single playthrough having to level twice as many stats but def worth it if you play it again give it another try it's actually alot of fun you just gotta figure out what weapon you want to use and do your biuld around that even with my stats at only 35 I'm getting around 630 weapon power and I can still level strenth on new game plus for physical damage and can still push rad/inf about twice as high as it is now to scale even better I can't imagine how much damage it will do then but I'm excited to see

Inferno Weapon isn’t an end game spell, you get it not long after the first beacon in the optional “PvP shrine” area.

@@eduardosousa5235 That's crazy considering it was found behind the shrine as early as 4 days after release and no patch notes say it was moved there. Almost like it was there the whole time and people keep spreading misinformation.
@@SuperEffector I was playing on patch 1.1.184 and for me it didn't appear behind the sanctuary, this frustrated me so much that I decided to update my game just to get this spell
@@eduardosousa5235 You do realise that if that's the case then the first patch that did it was the day 1 patch. Again there is no mention of this in any patch notes. Also you "decided" to update the game? Why would you not just let it update?
@@SuperEffector Mine is cracked, it doesn't update automatically. But it's not a lie, in fact in that patch it wasn't there. So much so that I managed to get it today after updating to 1.1.234.

Still its easy to route the game if players have the map knowledge
the plethora of shortcuts also make it LOADS easier, if you pay attention and notice them. i've seen tons of people i joined to co-op not even noticing multiple shortcuts per area.

nexus mods has a general save file that will unlock all these classes for you. It also unlocks all the achievements of that player's file. I used it and now I didn't need to beat a playthrough to start as an umbral build which is brutal btw with any other class.
Didn't they say that the secret classes had items you couldn't get anywhere else?
Also have you tried the harrower crossbow on a ranged build? It is ridiculously strong and does way more damage than anything else I have, which sucks at times
I think they said NG+ had exclusive items because these starter classes definitely don't have anything exclusive hahaha and nah I haven't tried ANYTHING range yet, not even throwing weapons. I need to start checking all that stuff out because I have seen some crazy builds 😭
I will probably not do ng+ for a long time, at least not until I have gotten more lvls in and upgraded my crossbow as it does around 800 per hit.
Ranged is completely busted compareded to melee this time around
@@Kranix the ranged options can be pretty intense. example being a trappers crossbow +8 with zero items buffing it, and 50 strength can do well over 500 damage (don't know exactly how high, been a few days since i've played my strength character), let alone a better ranged option with talisman, and rings, buffing it.
and with high vitality and endurance you have a HUGE number of shots. especially with how easily obtainable the better ammo refillers are.
The Lord armor set and Radiant Purifier set are only available by selecting those classes. The Putrid Child doesn't have anything unique, but a lot of the equipment is only found mid-to-late game. I kinda feel like the Putrid Child was meant to be the Orian Priest and Pyric Cultist of Umbral classes and a better one was intended as an end-game reward, but they either ran out of time or couldn't balance it properly.

I strongly disagree about the purifier. Piercing light is hardly worth it especially this early with so little mana pool (not that good either even later on). Aura of tenacity can be found right after pieta so... overall I think this class is just the equivalent of the base one but boosted for the tutorial zone, hardly worth chasing.
Nice video i really dislike how they did the classes for example why does Udirangr Warwolf a pure strength class start with 10 agility? if this would be fromsoft game it wouldnt be bad because a lot of strength weapons require a few extra points in dex just to be able to use them but one of the things i like about this game is you dont need have obnoxious stat requirments like in elden ring you have weapon that scales only with strength and faith and you need 18 points in dex why? other classes have that problem too like hallowed knight,exiled stalker,pyric cultist or radiant preacher it seems like that they didnt know where to pout those points so instead if adding them to vitality or endurance which every class and playstyle can benefit from they instead add them to stats i dont need at all i know that it isnt that big of deal in the grand scheme of things but it iritates me a lot especialy if i try to do 125 pvp build i miss those 1-3 levels and last thing the Radiant Purifier starts with a polearm that requires 9 strength and 15 radiance and nothing else but scales with radiance and agility both to A- WHY?Anyway sorry for the rant and have a nice day

@@ashleyjamiel7129 i just checked there are ZERO pure strength weapons,strength and radiance weapons,strength and inferno weapons, that require Agility and those that do require any need 8 agility which is the least amount you can get in game and every class starts with at least 8 agility

Yea. Dumb move for ng+ have no motivation now. I like being able to enjoy the environments and explore. Not fn rushing through because you have no vestiges. Stupid fn move.

you can get them in the game. a lot of them pretty early even tho he said endgame on everything the lord class is using.

I can't see me getting all the classes. I played about 115 hours, unlocked the holy damage class, and even though I loved it, I didn't love it enough to replay it. Other than the little quality of life upgrades that obviously need to be implemented, which wouldn't stop me from continuing on, I just got tired of fighting the exact same enemies all the time.
Mine removes the seeds ..they get deleted when I place 1 ...I guess I got screwed

I would like a class that features a GPS, so I could find, ya know, maybe ANYTHING in this game.
I dont know why, and going by the general buzz, this isnt a problem for pretty much anyone else. It took me 10 hours to get to the first boss, and after 30 more exploring the same area with paths that all lead back to the same area, I gave up at ~40 hours, never having left the hub.
thats actually one of the points of these types of games......the devs want you to explore. you have to earn the right to exist in this world. you also need to earn the right to understand what is happening in the world. look at the maps, and they will give you a general idea of where to go. follow the arrows. the 'X's don't take to the next area, but may be worth exploring.
You forgot another " secret " class, dark crusader is a class you can unlock ( or buy )

I dont like how to left out The Dark Crusader, Its not a secret everyone knows about it but you still need to unlock it, Like the rest of them. It should be in this video.
The class is not all that special for obvious reasons. They didn’t want a pay to win situation. The only thing going for it is the armor and level, that’s it. You’re not missing a whole lot,

I don't really understand the goal of unlocking new character for a basic new game ; with your end-game character you can respec all your level and turn it into whatever class you want for a NG+ so...
I was thinking possibly for the achievement. I'd hope that's what they are doing. Also, I guess since ppl like to do multiple runs then for that reason as well. I unlocked the lord class. It's cool if you want to start a new character. Now I'll unlock that radiant one. I was going to unlock the umbrella but sadly I cleansed a bonfire. So I assume I'm locked out. Ng0 has me OP this playthrough. I'm thinking of r3specing my character to umbral. Since I have I'd say mist everything in game.
I prefer making new characters instead of ng+ because I like the sense of progression which gets lost if you just go ng+ with an already completed build. I also like having seperate characters for my builds so I can switch between them at any time.

I guess I’m doing inferno ending instead of Umbral one. My current char is already Radiance wrecking ball, so I don’t want to do Radiance again.
Why? You beat the game, you have all the items, you are leveled up, probably have all the spells. What is the point? No class you choose matters at this point

@@kennykij1 Quest progression is very sensitive. There are quests that I was locked out of. Also, I went the wrong way and progressed up to the hardest late game area early on, then had to backtrack and do all others which by that point were trivial. Given that NG+ was too much of a hassle (devs apparently gonna change that soon, so this may no longer be what I’ll do) I’d rather do a clean normal run with a decently built up new char who uses magic that I never touched.
The only class you need is the reaper class….

Your crazy putrid chiod has rad/inf at 15 at the start and health over 10 that is a strait up powered ass start and puts you way ahead with biuoding your character for a umbral biuod it took me hours to get inf/rad stats equal i think its great tbh
What about Dark Crusader?
Umbral ending is just not worth the effort as putrid child class is very weak and umbral builds are doable without it. Elaine's sword is also a bad weapon as it has no status effects, mediocre dmg, and the wither dmg doesnt do enough. That unique attack combining pieta and Elaine's sword is cool but it doesnt do enuff in NG+ because if you have that combo you are likely a radiant build with high dmging spells that outclass the combo
I wont start a new game plus unless they get rid of that garbage seed crap. Make the bosses harder, sure, but dont take away spawn points. I want to to the ubral ending to get pietas evil sword but its not worth doing.
Lucky for you they'll be putting out an update this week they will be bringing the vestiges back in ng+. Later down the road before the end of the year they will be adding a whole modifier system so you can change certain things about your NG+ runs too!
@@Kranix In Fightingcowboy's interview they said they were not doing that. Are you sure they're doing that? That is my single biggest complaint about this game. I'm on PC with a powerful GPU (7900 XTX Nitro), and it has been a fantastic place to explore, but minimizing fast travel and fumbling with this lame consumable ink ribbon/ typewriter bullshit from Resident Evil from the 90s isn't my thing.
@AKSBSU yes! I'm also on PC and on today's update like an hour ago I read their entire patchnotes saying all that, even said they're fixing crossplay for consoles on Monday and everything else on Thursday!

@theobscured_one it drops on thrusday, and what it does is keeps the majority of vestiges but more will dissappear the higher you go into more new games. Says by NG+3 THEN it will get rid of all of them! So it doesn't keep all of them in NG+, but enough so you're not struggling with fast travel points!
Secret classes are kinda lackluster for me. I was hoping they came with new weapons, rings, pendants, armor (with passives), or items. Not just things you find later in ng on an early build. Also would have been nice to have new spells with a low requirement and high requirement spell for early and late game.
Tbh you can legit get all loot weapons and spells so no there not worth it u can make everyone of them💀

For the Putrid Child class, they just needed to change two things and the class would've been fine.
1. Replace the Poison Cloud spell with the basic Umbral Dart* spell.
2. Replace the pendant with the Pendant of Atrophy. It allows you to convert HP into Wither damage if you don't have enough MP to cast your Umbral spells.

new game plus isn't difficult, it's annoying. The game doesn't require higher skill on new game plus, just higher stats. The enemies are the same, the map is the same, the bosses and story are the same. The only difference is higher lvl enemies and you have to run everywhere. That doesn't make things harder, just more annoying. I'm glad the upcoming update is fixing new game plus. After my first playthrough, I had absolutely 0 desire to play again having to run everywhere. At least now I'll actually play again after patch.

@@ashleyjamiel7129 Don't know of one about maps. But in DSII NG+ added more enemies and replaces some all together, some equipment mainly rings could only be gotten on NG+ and NG++.

Honestly by the time yku get to endgame you have the armor, weapons, etc so probably not. Should have been somerhing that was unavailable u til you beat the game ie armor, weapons wtc. That way they would mean something.
As it stands they are only worth unlocking for thr achievement if there is one.
NG0 further negates rhe use of them. They shoukd have been unlocked fairly early since this game is rather long and subsequent playtrhoughs dont seem worth it.
Wow, so they really just outright ruined NG+, huh? That sucks. The further I get into the game, and the more I learn about it, the more this dev team just confuses and frustrates me.

Yea it's rough getting PvP Clips, going through the many "disconnected from host" to laggy hosts takes a bit ngl 😭

Tbh, there really isnt a need to unlock them lol you get all the items that are "locked" behind one of the 3 endings.

Tip for the putrid child build. Sword does wither damage. Wither damage gets procked once the enemy takes damage. So hit them. Or burn them. Or poison them. They gave you a decent build, you just don’t know how to use it properly yet. Apply poison at the beginning of your fight - see how your sword does decent damage now. ;)
Nahh,, just reset and allocate stats depending on what build you want.. level 200 chars are wondering why you need to create new chars just to make new build😅😂😅 weird.
Yeah I'm lol 138 I think. Thinking the same thing. Will probably allocate to be able to do any build on one character lol. I think between points, and rings I can do enough str,dex to get a decent weapon to use and just specs in fire and umbrella since I already ran radiance.

I mean... Any build can be created with any starting build. The difference is do you know what you want from the get go?
I personally love umbral builds, but they sort of suffer early game without mana regen rings/runes and just enough agl/str in a long term weapon. The putrid child doesnt help in that, but it gives you a decent weapon and some okay spells.
Trying out the lord build now. The axe/polearm starting weapon is slow and weak, but you can unlock the inferno trainer and get off the ground fairly once you clear miss lightsaber sword and get access to the hub.
Long story short... if the stats of any of these classes will help your build then yes. If not no. I didnt need to watch the video to figure that out. This video idea is lazy
