You completely forgot to mention that not being locked-on to an enemy = dodge roll; but being locked-on = dodge step.
Dodge-rolling consumes a lot more stamina, but gives you more distance.

Here's 2 other tips.
1) Use your lamp's Siphon to suck up Vigor from far away.
2) Blocking/Parrying even when you're at 0 red health will still prevent you from dying until you can regain that health back, so it's always safe to block/parry even though it says you're out of red health and only have withered health.

You can die trying to parry because there is a window between LB press and blocking activating.

My tip is let go of the button and stick when jumping if you don't want to roll forward. Helps tremendously with platforming little landing areas
Big tip is not to plant vestige seeds everywhere you can. Some are like 15 seconds and zero enemies from an actual vestige, and that’s early in the game. Familiarize yourself with the area first just to be sure you’re not about to waste one.
I kept doing this and then finding out that I wasted the seed. And then the one place I wanted to go back to I couldn’t. I feel like this mechanic is poorly planned early in the game and it would probably just be better without it.
@@1925683molhu sells infinite number of them so it would hurt to buy 2-3 for new areas
I see no reason for sparing seeds. I have other 30 in the inventory from killing the butterfly. I think the patches are a lot be generous with some quality of life aspects of the game.
For the majority of people that never played the original Lords of the Fallen, the blacksmith’s prisoner, ‘Sparks’, is the blacksmith from the original game.
I noticed that too, there is way more connections between the games than they let on which I am ok with because it makes richer lore

You can make a stationary jump by pressing run+jump (same way you perform the "this is sparta" kick). This often prevents falling because of a lack of room to start running.
If you like slinging spells or shooting arrows, you'll notice the little purple flames (the vigor XP) are left far away and you will wonder how to reach them... Simply pull your lamp and siphon them, there doesn't seem to be any limit to the distance you can siphon those flames.
This is extremely good to know.

OMG I KNOW YOUR PAIN. There is no running space, and the speed difference is so small i never know if my character will jump or just fall off (i tend to fall off tho)
I switch to keyboard and mouse for those sections (I've re-bound run and jump to shift and spacebar so my brain can stop fucking that up)
Stick drift
Another tip if you're trying to level more and faster. Go to the umbral realm and try to stay as long as you can. The xp multiplier becomes higher the longer you're in umbral till 3.00x as much. Try to avoid the red unkillable specter and when you need to heal wich the specter prevents you from doing, go to a checkpoint (lamp) and stand next to it. The specter disappears and you can safely heal.
Red specter is not unkillable ;) 1st kill grants you an eye for your lamp and 1st kill on all playthroughs grant a good amount of vigor 30k-ish as well as 25 umbral scourings. All kills after that on the same playthrough grants 5 umbral scourings as well as a fair amount of vigor 7-8k or so. You then get 2-3 minutes or something before it respawns, letting you enjoy your 3x vigor gain.
Pro tip soul flay an enemy and wither their health down to get a free stagger which uses the lantern to do a special finisher which garuntees a item drop and a rune drop

I just finally, finally beat Pieta after countless attempts 🥳🍻
What build were you using and what was the trouble? She had some very telegraphed attacks. My radiance build killed her easier than my pyro build, but i didn’t find her too difficult. And I’m not the greatest at these games.
I'm failing miserably with her haha. First time playing this type of game, but loving the challenge
I beat her through parrying her attacks, but she was pretty tough for a true first boss

When I'm surrounded by multiple enemies that are strong, I soul flay them off the edge then attack the next.
1. You can Soul Flail enemies off the edge or into a hazard zone, by pulling your thumbstick to side.
2. Some enemies can actually be blinded by your Lamp (haven't tested for everyone tho).
3. Use your kick if the enemy is low on stance, it does much more stance damage than your R1.
4. Alot of NPCs only allow you to progress their story/quest if you summon them to a bossfight. So make sure to check every shadow before a boss arena!

I liked that lies of p made respeccing very accessible. Far more incentive to try different play styled and builds
We firmly believe that every rpg game should make respeccing an easy affair. There is no upside to limiting it for players
accidentily discovered that you could kill the mimics during my 3rd playthrough as I was going to soulflay a stigma next to one and hit the mimic in stead xD

Purchase it from Stomund in the abbey, but only if you’ve advanced his quest
• Heavy attacks _do not_ deal more damage than light attacks in Lords of the Fallen. Heavy attacks _DO_ damage an enemy's posture more than light attacks. Know when one type of attack is more adventageous than the other. Light attacks swing faster, but heavy attacks will get you closer to that stagger and critical/backstab attack.
• Dual-wielding weapons is almost always directly superior to using a shield in this game, and for a few reasons. First and most obviously, a secondary weapon does damage that a shield can't, including a second damage type (wither + fire and wither + holy are so good, plus your secondary weapon can instantly "lock in" the added damage from thr wither on a primary.) More importantly: if you miss a parry and do a regular block instead, you can still regain your withered health same as with a shield. But _most importantly_ , and something I just learned: weapons that block less damage than a shield will also have much larger parry windows. So a shield blocks more damage than a dagger, but a dagger is much easier to parry with. Parry is king in this game. Parry errrrythang. Well, almost.
• You can cancel a manually aimed crossbow/bow shot by dodging. Just release the aim and draw buttons while you're in the middle of the dodge animation. Ammunition saved!
tapped "heavy" attacks only change the way you swing and deal the same damage. Charged heavy attacks deal more damage and posture damage.
Parry window depends on the shield or the weapon you use. A light shield has a much better parry window than a heavy shield. The same goes for light and heavy weapons.
Dual wielding is king for status buildup, but dual wielding also lowers each weapon's damage. So your damage to stamina efficency is better when one handing or two handing a single weapon. For those who doesn't want to parry everything, there's an upgrade for your lamp that makes you deal wither damage when you do a "perfect" dodge. Really fun to dodge a boss for 2 minutes only to hit it once, gonna make "one-hit" runs pretty "easy" xD
Little bit of an unrelated question, only half way through the video as well so you may mention it later on, but my questions is about cooperative play. I can see in the clips behind that you’ve been playing coop, is it good? Me and my friend are really keen on playing together, is it viable to play the whole game as a two? What’s it like for item drops for the guest in your world etc? Also.. Great video, keep it up!
It’s dope I’ve played it multi and the loot for the non host is good. I can’t confirm if the friend can loot chest with you or not but everything else they can.
Playing coop is great for both players since the non host player will not lose vigor when dieing and the item drops is for both and dont forget theres trophies for defeating bosses pvp etc only for coop

A good way for respecting right before a boss would be using the cloud saving on consoles.
As long as you disable auto-uploading of your save files. Then absolutely, that's a great workaround.

Very important and pro tip: Crafter's Essence that Lower a weapon's weight and stat requirement to 0 u can have only one per character i am in my third play through and wasted it in my last two thought it was bug or something but it is what it is 😅💀
Dose anyone know why the quick item change on their own? Sometimes it cycles through so when I think I’m healing, I’m using a different item

If I already did the blue moth soulflay after a boss fight but didn’t have the bowl of remembrance can I go back and do the soulflay again?
You should have the item from the soulflay ready for when you get the bowl.
Not sure if this is a tip, but my son is determined to play through this game using only fists. The reason? Because a running heavy attack with fists does this special drop kick, that pierces enemies, along with knocking them far back. Not going to lie, the kid does ALOT of damage, stacking STR.
Yeah it’s almost like the lord of the rings Uruk-hai kick, it’s awesome

As a huge souls guy and loved lies of p I’m not getting into this game. The umbral is a pain and u end up having to fight a million of those zombies. I enjoyed lies of p having mini boss guys that didnt respawn so when I got past it it was always a relief. I die in this and like god damn I got to do that all again. There’s a couple shortcuts but nothing like other souls games.

You have to get the bowl in pilgrims perch to unlock them. If you haven’t gotten that far then you can’t do it yet.

Thanks for the tips - I had forgotten about the LB/RT combo move. Love the channel and appreciate the vid, but I wish I could unsee the first tip, tbh. I would’ve rather found that on my own, as discovery is most of the joy of this game. Here's a "tip" (exploit) that will likely get patched soon.
For some reason, certain regions have different items in the plucked eyeball store, and gain 50x extra plucked eyeballs from red lamp kills. My friend from Australia and I discovered this when we realized he was getting 150 per kill, I'm getting 3.
If you have access to a VPN, set your location to Australia. I'm not kidding. It's the strangest regional difference I've ever seen in a game. It will likely be patched soon so try it while you can. You'll be able to get absolutely everything in the plucked eyeball store in a matter of like 30 mins.

hey, i looked it up and the vendor tiers appear to be a community thing, the eyballs one. So thats everyones donations of teh entire community adding up. Thats what random website said anyway. I donated 10 and it hardly moved so i looked it up. ALSO not sure if thats unlimited or not...no way to tell right now.. maybe im bugged but i was only able to buy one of the things from tier 1 even though im sitting on 20 eyballs and it said it only cost 3 EDIT: Shit i said I wasnt gonna share my secrets >_

Plwase dont assume everyone uses controllers. I physically cant use controllers so What is left bumper right trigger for a pc player? The multi attack assuming its left and right click but are bumpers and triggers both attacks? Doesn't sound like you're hitting both attacks
Unfortunately the game was unplayable for me with M/KB so I don’t know, but it would equate to the block button and the heavy attack button at the same time

I'm on PS5 and did not have or experience any major performance related issues. I've reached an area where 75% of the screen is on fire and only had a couple of fire animations literally pixelated, but nothing major lag or anything. Mind that I am playing on quality mode.
Performance is all over the place based on console and your tech. It’s hard to pin down because things are changing

I am getting slaughtered by the third Boss. This is my Seconds Souls Like Game after Elsen Ring and Boy i Love it to get challenged. If someone has some Tips for me i would be glad. Or maybe watch my stream to see me fail 😂
Before all of this, they need to make the game function on console. The game literally plays in freeze frames and menus are slow and laggy. Especially at gelinda and mohul. I haven’t been able to enjoy the game with the bad performance. Been kinda just trying to trudge through the game without taking anything in since you simply cannot do that.

My tip would be (because no youtuber I've seen so far has clarified) not every boss has a remembrance.
It's only the main story relevant bosses.

I don't even understand what you're talking about :( I'm up to the Pita and she's ruining me even with the Help of the NPC. Even the Skeletal Lords destroy me each time with their one shot attacks... I'M DESPERATE ! PLEASE HELP ME !
This game is quite decent. There are quite a few great boss fights, areas look cool, and sorcery is awesome. The performance is unforgivably disgusting… enemy variety is limited, the game deals with gank horribly, archers (specifically the crossbow ones) are revoltingly horrible to fight, they do too much damage and track unnaturally. It just sucks.
Lots of stuff we talk about in our review. I was lucky on the performance front and had no egregious issues. I agree the enemy balance needs some work
It’s not just enemy balance, it’s enemy grouping. There is an area in pilgrims perch where I went down a ladder, after killing a couple enemies mind you, and the moment I got to the bottom I got attacked by 3-4 mobs immediately. It’s almost like they scripted certain mobs to not aggro until a certain point regardless of what goes on around them so you get ganked no matter what you do. That and they need to thin the amount a bit in groups, it’s a bit much and turns into some very cheap deaths. Ranged enemies need their damage nerfed by quite a bit in my opinion. Half my health gone from one ranged attack 300 feet away is an odd decision. Either they didn’t think it through or they wanted it this way, but the enemy groupings the way they are create situations where you get stun locked and can’t do anything until you are dead due to chain attacks from so many mobs. I’m sure there are ways to deal with it later in the game, I just wish they ramped up to that more and not right after the first boss you have rooms of 6-7 mobs to fight at once.

I’m having so many performance issues on ps5 now I’m in the Fen, after corpse monster boss. Regretting buying this on release. It’s like watching a slideshow at times! Also sound and camera issues regularly 😤
It’s bad on Xbox too. Hoping patches fix things because I enjoy the game when it’s working.

Why not slide into performance mode? Fixed a lot of the stuttering issues for me on ps5
@@rich925cal1 yeah I am playing in performance mode, I didn’t have any issues before the Fen area. I am running the latest update.
Performance mode fixed all my issues except the cutscenes being kind of choppy in parts, running on ps5
hopefully the devs make alot of the Online covent items farmable offline cus it's Bullshit. Especially with the AWFUL online issues that aren't going to be fixed cus it's in the games code.
How on earth did you NOT know some of this stuff sooner? Two types of dodging are explained in first minute of gameplay as a tutorial.

This game puts lies of P to shame as far as difficulty
It’s a different kind of difficult. I think Lies of P handled enemy density better, but the need to parry felt forced on the player. LOTF feels more enjoyable in the moment to moment gameplay, but some truly absurd enemy density issues make certain spots of the game rage inducing

What's with Souls' games being so stingey with respecs? What harm is there in letting us changing our playstyles on a whim?
I have no idea. I’ve made a point of saying this to the devs. Restricting a character build is a terrible decision
Makes it so you have to put thought in your build, and cant just change your build on the fly to counter bosses.
