I got it on discount a few weeks ago on PS5 . I'm around 1/3 of the game and I'm having a good time. I haven't noticed any serious performance issues , maybe a few framedrops once or twice. I love the exploration, the shortcuts are well designed, the umbral system, movement , combat, everything is smooth. There are easy spots to farm leveling. Personally, I think enemies hit a bit too hard. I'm focusing mainly on Vitality (since scaling early doesn't make such difference in weapon damage) and still there are ordinary mobs that do with one hit 60-70% damage and bosses with multiple attacks that can one shot you. Their movements are clear, you can parry or dodge, but the fact that you basically have to make a nearly perfect run to beat a boss makes it frustrating sometimes. I really like the idea of built-in item/enemy randomizers to some extent for NG+ for these types of games. For the Soulsborne/Soulslike genre, randomization has become sort of a genre standard for elevating the difficulty of the game and testing game knowledge further than going to NG+X, and having it built in to games naturally is so much more appealing than having to apply mods to PC versions (which is easy enough, but an extra step nonetheless), or having to crack your console to apply mods there.
I've held off on this game until this update. Put almost 50 hours into it in the past week now, and I have to say this is the best non-From Souls style game I've ever played. In large part because of the DS1 style interconnected world. Why are there so few Souls-likes that do this? It's one of the main reasons people regard DS1 so highly, and yet even Fromsoftware abandoned it.

I'm not sure if it's my initial build, dual short swords and a bow, but I honestly did not have a problem with enemy density like I keep hearing. When they reduced enemy density in one of their patches it really made the game too easy. So I'm very pleased they added an enemy density modifier. Feels like an actual challenge now. I hope with all these updates people give this game a chance cause it deserves so much praise in my opinion. By no means is it Elden Ring but doesn't deserve a lot of the hate this game initially got.
Thank you for providing your updated take! I’ve kept my eye on this game, as I love the art direction, but wanted to wait until the initial issues were taken care of. With LotF being on sale now, your timing couldn’t have been better!
I did enjoy this game a lot. The lag and some bugs and issues did make it way more difficult to finish though. What I was clearly bummed about were the secrets that could break easily (cave, lights if yk what i mean).
Recently started again and just finished Skien mines, been super fun as a dagger build with poison so fa, played with a two-handed axe aswell, game is in a good place 😀 ty for the updates summary 💯
It's great that they continued to work on improving the game... the issue I have, is that why support games with a D1 buy anymore ? Quite a few games these days are relesed in a sub optimal state and are improved significantly over the 6 to 12 months after release. I find myself these last few months no longer buying D1 and waiting to pick up the game when it improves..
Bought this game little after launch had fun but hit a wall and dropped it and recently picked it back up and after the updates and changes in having a blast 😎😎 kudos to the devs for sticking with it and updating it! Granted probably shouldn't have released how it was but gotta give 'em credit for fixing it and staying with it lot of other companies would have just moved on
I played at launch, performance was bad but managed to get it work by choosing the auto-detect option (recommended by devs) and changing some string value in a file that I now forgot where it was. Played it at 30FPS at low quality but that's fine, my eyes can't tell the difference for any fps higher than that. I tried re-installing and doing another playthrough a couple months ago and the stutter was even worse, but I no longer remember what file I changed that fixed it for me.
Game is on sale on Steam and PS5 right now at a bargain. Personally I really like it. It's no masterpiece like Elden Ring, but the classes are fun and the lantern/umbral mechanic is legitimately great. I'd love to see what this dev might do in the future.
Personally I loved the game - played on Day 1. I love the parry system and the spellcasting with key bindings. Enemy variety is decent, boss difficulty was kinda low but I enjoyed the bosses. The world was amazing and interconnected almost on the level of DS1 imo. However, I hate that they added more achievements for the NG+ modifiers... This makes the achievements pointless because you must grind too much for 100% ach and it feels more like just cool stuff you can do and you get achievements for (like Cyberpunk2077) instead of a a game that's supposed to be platinumed which is a bummer
@@dijik123 I struggled on Pieta, haha. I forced myself to learn the parry system and to not cheese her with dodges and it took me like 20+ attempts I swear. It's a very forgiving parry but for some reason the timing didn't click fast in my brain. But Elden Ring was also difficult at the beginning to me and once you get the build going everything becomes piece of cake.
I guess I bought this game at a good time; because I was looking to fill that void with elden ring, picked this up, and absolutely loved it. It's like elden ring if it was drawn by HR Giger.

I spent about 5 hours playing which was way too late 😅 Good times. I'm hoping that Lords of the Fallen will at least be playable and something worth spending the time on.
I bought a physical Xbox SX copy of this game today and it's amazing. It still requires some polishing, it has audio bugs, occasional framerate drops but the visuals are absolutely stunning and the game is fun, the combat is more like in DS2.
Does anyone know if the loot for coop is still crippled? The promised seemless coop was the main attraction for me, but we never bought it because the non-host got screwed over.
For anyone like me who was wondering if they can run it, I gave it a shot. I’m playing on High CPU: ryzen 7535 GPU: Rtx 2050. 1TB SSD. It’s been running fine so far I haven’t had any issues and having a great time. Temperatures within safe ranges with cheap laptop cooling pad and fan set to auto
Honestly my problem with this game that caused me to only beat it once was that most of the bosses with the exception of like 2-3 bosses were exceptionally easy. So when I hear they made the bosses harder gives me a little bit of hope but I still need to find out exactly what this means. If it's just HP and Damage it might just still be Mid of the Fallen

What are your PC specs? This is an unreal engine 5 game that relies heavily on asset streaming, if your hardware is just a couple of years old its just not going to run well unless the developers implement an option to pre-download streamed assets, a setting that was added in fortnite when they updated the engine to unreal 5. My friends son suddenly couldnt play fortnite anymore after the latest update and it was because his PC couldnt handle the asset streaming that was enabled by default in the new update, it took me hours to figure out what was going on.
This is a game that I really want to like, I bought the deluxe edition to support it and played it on launch and I hated it, decided to wait for a better version and just tried it again for the past few days, about 10 hours later I just can’t seem to have fun with the game, I’ve been looking up guides and tips to enjoy it more, learning more mechanics etc, but it just didnt click for me. Will buy it for 10 bucks in deep deep sale maybe, though the prospect of buying a game with major stutters during gameplay doesn't sound enticing at all tbh.
this game is awesome! My rig is not super crazy (2070S and i9900k) and it doesnt stutter at all! in fact, the graphics in some areas are mind blowing, definitely a next gen look and feel! The game is a lot of fun and definitely challenging in some areas. If you grind a lit bit you can get OP and that helps a lot.
I feel like this game has some unreasonable bad flak. Frankly a good game. played it last year and I enjoyed it a lot. Maybe its something about how you play souls games that makes people hate the game so much. Certainly has less polish than lies of p but still was really enjoyable. Some encounters were very obnoxious but I learned fast that you just gotta book it in souls games sometimes. The game doesn't stop you from just running so I use that a lot. my main complaint about this game is how they expect you to run umbral to level up properly but that isnt good at all and is usually just better to go to that one bonfire with the spike head enemy and just backstab him again and again for a huge chunk of souls to progress. Only problem i had with this game was that i actually had to do that more than once to catch up to the bosses.
Do they still have ranged mobs that are completely immune to damage until you stunlock yourself for 3 seconds out in the open with a lamp to remove their invulnerability?
Just saw this on sale on steam today for 50% off. Was tempted but to see the effort they've put into it i think its now a buy! Hey have you ever played the Surge games? Not Fromsoft quality but still some pretty fun games.
I bought it and beat it a month ago, and enjoyed a lot, my biggest problem was the sponge bosses, never felt OP till end game tbh. Also, I felt the str build was stronger than the fire build of my 2nd run. Not a Dark souls level game, but surely above the average

I'm so glad I waited I got this game for my birthday on February 18th and loved the setting, characters and gameplay but didn't get far due to the bugs glad I waited it out
I'm not sure if it's my initial build, dual short swords and a bow, but I honestly did not have a problem with enemy density like I keep hearing.
I see that in the updates they added button mapping which I was waiting for, but can you change the fov yet?
Recently picked this up finally only issue I don't like is how floaty and sliding on ice your character is and combat
It's the final update, Hexworks already said they're working on the sequel
Title: Lords of the Fallen
Fards of the Lollen
@@keeganbate8935Revenge of the Fallen Lords
No official DLC then?
Thank you for providing your updated take! I’ve kept my eye on this game, as I love the art direction, but wanted to wait until the initial issues were taken care of. With LotF being on sale now, your timing couldn’t have been better!
I did enjoy this game a lot. The lag and some bugs and issues did make it way more difficult to finish though. What I was clearly bummed about were the secrets that could break easily (cave, lights if yk what i mean).
I had a perfectly good time playing through the is when it first came out! Had very few issues other than stutters in the hub area.
If you're on PS5, the game is on sale at Walmart for $20. Just picked it up myself
Thank you for the video... great work as always ! I was wondering if they addressed the targeting lock on?
Recently started again and just finished Skien mines, been super fun as a dagger build with poison so fa, played with a two-handed axe aswell, game is in a good place 😀 ty for the updates summary 💯
It's great that they continued to work on improving the game... the issue I have, is that why support games with a D1 buy anymore ?
Quite a few games these days are relesed in a sub optimal state and are improved significantly over the 6 to 12 months after release. I find myself these last few months no longer buying D1 and waiting to pick up the game when it improves..
I freaking love this game and after the updates it's even better
I dont care what anyone says I love this game have 100s of hours in it and enjoy it. Thanks for the review, like the format :)
I've had since 1 but my backlog was so big I never played now it's somewhat cleared out lol I'm going to give this game a fair shake now
Thanks for this! Appreciate the update!
This game has the best ng+ options in any game I've played. Love it. I want more games to adopt this feature.
Deluxe is 50% off on ps should I get?
It runs very well on ps5.
Edit: they even added a boss rush mode, and you can replay fights. That’s a badly needed feature most soulslikes don’t have.
I've been thinking about playing this lately, thanks for the update on it!
Thanks for revisiting titles that update mort. Keep up the good work.
Aah nice! Waking up to a new mortim video ❤
love your honest review and constant updates keep it up . like as usual
Boss was hard at launch, ik a souls pro struggled at some bosses
@@dijik123 I struggled on Pieta, haha. I forced myself to learn the parry system and to not cheese her with dodges and it took me like 20+ attempts I swear. It's a very forgiving parry but for some reason the timing didn't click fast in my brain. But Elden Ring was also difficult at the beginning to me and once you get the build going everything becomes piece of cake.
@@Abken. The boss fight with the knight on the horse was difficult
Does anyone know if they updated coop loot sharing? Is it still that the host gets the loot, or did they fix it to share all loot. Like in Remnant 2?
I guess I bought this game at a good time; because I was looking to fill that void with elden ring, picked this up, and absolutely loved it. It's like elden ring if it was drawn by HR Giger.
Another great video. I always appreciate your content. Since LoTF is on Gamepass, I'm going to give it shot. I've milked just about everything I want out of Elden Ring and the DLC so I'm looking for new content. I did start Lies of P last night and I will say that is an amazing game. Wow. I spent about 5 hours playing which was way too late 😅 Good times. I'm hoping that Lords of the Fallen will at least be playable and something worth spending the time on.
Finally it’s ready for gamepass can’t wait to dive in next week!
Thanks for the video. Active support for a title is impressive. Onward to 400k. All glory to the algorithm.
I’ve only played Elden Ring and Demon souls on PS5. Now that I have a new beefy PC. Should I get this game is it worth my money now?
On my PS5 runs perfect now
For anyone like me who was wondering if they can run it, I gave it a shot. I’m playing on High CPU: ryzen 7535 GPU: Rtx 2050. 1TB SSD. It’s been running fine so far I haven’t had any issues and having a great time. Temperatures within safe ranges with cheap laptop cooling pad and fan set to auto
Are you still playing it?
Do You know the State of the Player Base?
I'm looking to try the Co op 😅
This game is amazing. Other than frame rate issues I have never had issues with it since release. Gimme DLC
i just bought this game yesterday played it for about an hr i like it so far 🤓
Pumped on this. Own it on PS5 since launch, just bought it on Steam!
He mentioned in the video bosses AI and new movements/attacks where added, as well as health and damage. Did you watch the video?
@@rapid_rivers3294 Someone saying something is different than me seeing what they meant. When I made this comment I spent a while browsing youtube videos to see what these lines meant but I never found a video that actually showed any examples
I only made it half way through this game last month, I really enjoyed the original. I didn't stop due to any issues though. This new one though I feel like I'm just running past enemies because they are all the same. I'll pick it back up in a few months to see if I can get back into it.
Is the lock on system still a big issue? I heard about this at the start and it was a big deal breaker for me.
Does the gane have a dlc now
About to start a dark crusader play through cant wait
This game has so many goddamn enemies in it. Was a pain to go anywhere, but still an enjoyable experience for the most part.
Its in the about section, but basically just about as high end as you can get.
Intel sucks on unreal 5 for whatever reason, everyone I know that has intel experiences hitching in most ue5 games when I don’t with my 7800x3d
I like the modifier stuff they added. Elden Ring could really learn from this, without having to rely on mod support.
Do you have any footage of the stuttering your currently getting?
This is a game that I really want to like, I bought the deluxe edition to support it and played it on launch and I hated it, decided to wait for a better version and just tried it again for the past few days, about 10 hours later I just can’t seem to have fun with the game, I’ve been looking up guides and tips to enjoy it more, learning more mechanics etc, but it just didnt click for me.
I just replayed Dark Souls for like the 6th time, finished Lies of P and then, after seeing the 1.5 update for lords of the Fallen decides to give it another go.
If any of the fans of the game have any advice for me on how to enjoy this game more I would appreciate it, it took me some time to start enjoying FromSoft games but now I love them and play them all so I’m hoping Lords of the Fallen will eventually click
@vEcTeRbl00d no way, Lies of P is way harder than this game for example, you must be playing with a dex build
@@jmmywyf4lyf lords of the fallen isn't unfair, it is sometimes too easy imo
@@thewretch4081 wow, I actually thought lies of P was okay, and I was playing a Dex build there lol.
For me Lords of The Fallen feels much more difficult, I’m right now looking up combat tips and overpowered builds, also for some reason it’s really hard to find people to help me when matchmaking through the lantern, in Dark Souls it was much easier to find help to defeat a hard boss
@@RegularEverydayNormalGuy Play the Radiance build,it has healing, status effect removal, damage negation aura,Healing aura,Thorns aura, powerful AOE and single target spells , and cool weapons
@jmmywyf4lyf I had misspelled a word friend, are you trying to tell me you read something else?
I played this game at launch and had a good time. I will admit, though, it was a bit of a mess upon release… esp the PvP/connectivity. Glad to see it’s finally ready for release… 6 mos after its initial release lol. Thanks for the update, much appreciated!
I beat this game at launch and really didn’t have any major issues. I noticed the hordes and long range enemies but they could be managed. However, I didn’t go into NG+. I could imagine NG+ being a nightmare at launch.
Just bought this from walmart on sale for only $20!
Was hoping this would turn out to be decent in the end. I'll buy this when it hits a sale again. Seems they've done enough to make it worth a buy. Thanks for the review
50% off on steam, jsyk!
@@slothclaws wish I had a decent PC, sadly I'm a console loser 😂. Gave up trying to keep up with PC hardware about 10 years ago. Thanks though man
Still no option to turn off the hud?
This game still stutters on my nvidia 4090 to where it's unplayable. No matter what I do. Ran fine when it first came out and after one of the updates it screwed it up. Are their any fixes on this??
Does it run any better on Steam Deck now?
I loved this game. the art direction is some of my favourite of any game. Definitely think it was a bit overhated.
Will buy it for 10 bucks in deep deep sale maybe, though the prospect of buying a game with major stutters during gameplay doesn't sound enticing at all tbh.
There was an issue with stuttering with the 1.5 update, but they released a hotfix for it. For me the game plays very smooth now :)
One of my favorite games of all time!
this game is awesome!
Sounds like a good time to jump in on a discount. Thanks for the update!
So happy I beat this game before they lowered mob density. I loved this game and the challenge it brought.
Bought the game due their good patch support - this should be supported! 👍
I've noticed the stutter occurs during auto save
I love this game so much.
Rumors that it's coming to game pass this month, can't wait
