In this Lords of the Fallen video. I'm going to be going through the base classes of the game, going through their attributes, their starting equipment, why you might want to select one of these classes or not, talking about classes in general.

As my favorite way to play is dual katanas and rolling, I think picking Partisan to get used to everything the game has (except magic) is the best way. Then move to dual weapons and probably lighter armor to dodge a lot.
From your video: Evicted Stalker seemed most interesting, as the Fire Cultist, as you mentioned, is impaired by the game balance. Makes no sense to start mage, when we must play him like a warrior monk. 🤔
I played a majority of the Souls games, but it wasn't until Elden Ring that I discovered, I *really* like hitting things with hammers. So for Lords of the Fallen, I might try doing that in-game as well.

The armor aesthetic in this game is really 10/10

The last game had amazing armor. The living legend set was awesome
demon souls so far appeals to me more then elding ring or lord of the fallen
Lord of the fallen is the best looking game out of all souls like games 10/10, because of the looks alone I decided to play this. The other souls like game I played is Sekiro and I loved Sekiro, but that one is too hard and I don’t have much time to get gud.
These classes look sick! Blackfeather ranger looks like a hunter out of bloodborne I love how it looks!

It looks too much like the hunter though, I mean there’s a difference between being inspired by something and flat out copying something. Game looks good though, but it sure lacks an identity of its own.

@@ethanwintersseveredhand no, look I’m not bashing the game, I’m buying it tomorrow lol, I just honestly feel that it lacks it’s own identity. Heck, there’s many gamers calling it Dark Souls 4 because it’s so similar. It’s literally got the exact same classes as Dark Souls. Take the lamp gimmick away and you got Dark Souls. Heck, just one guys opinion mate.
@@Carfilliotobviously the game is influenced by dark souls. But theres a diffrence in how equipment is used in the game versus darksouls. The weapon animations are also diffrent, and the spell casting is also diffrent. Really it actually does have its own identity. Because while its influence is dark souls, its played a completely diffrent way. The mechanics are its own. So saying this game is copy and paste dark souls is ignorance on their part. Any dark souls veteran can litterally look at the way two handed weapons are used in this game a spot a huge diffrence compared to dark souls. Hell i can litterally look at thos game and already spot how diffrent the ranged combat is, compared to dark souls. Its going to be completely different from how weapons feel in the souls series. Which is where its key diffrences lie.
Condemned is the starting class for me, so long as I am able to acquire all of the other classes' armour and weapons in game. I love "starting from scratch" and earning everything.

I really think the Cultist, whilst knowingly set up to be weak in early game, has amazing potential to bloom into an absolute powerhouse. I am wanting to keep Inferno to 18, whilst buffing up the base stats + STR to make an armoured behemoth with a flaming sword.
Seems like no one is liking the polearm starter weapon. I was hoping those weapons would be good. But there seems to be an Inferno-scaling axe (Raw Mangler Axe) that drops early in the game with a bit of farming you can use instead, two if you want.
Seismic Slam is deadly, but you don't get it until a ways into the game.
@@AKSBSU You can get a cool axe that scales with inferno, but its in the final area (the final area of the early access demo)
I really like the idea of the ranged slots, almost like Kingdoms of Amalur
It sounds better than darksouls in my opinion. You don’t have to worry about crafting or buying so you can have fun with it rather than having the constant urge to save

@@rickeykekoa023ya but I can carry 99 shots in dark souls... would honestly rather have that then then need to throw stats into things other then my damage for more slots
@@De1usionsofGrandeur You can buy an item that can replenish the slots. So, theoretically you could by 99 of the replenish ranged slot items and then you multiply that by the number of ranges slots you have.
@@De1usionsofGrandeuri think as a general rule of thumb, if it plays like a souls game, we will be speccing some into endurance and vitality for quality of life for all characters anyway.
Can't wait for those "Beating the game with a bucket" RUclips videos. This game looks absolutely fantastic, but I'm still undecided on a starting class. Thanks for the class breakdown video!

Wow, just switched to the Orian Preacher from my Warwolf build and holy crap (pun intended) did it make a difference. I didn't die even once (story aside) until Pieta - just a crazy difference in how it plays, how it feels, and how fun it is. I was in Umbral more as I wasn't afraid of the constant ambush, the mobs seem easier to handle and more fun. Each to their own but this is awesome for me. SUPER glad I stumbled on this guide!
I need you to stop... one can only get so excited for a video game without having top notch content explaining all the awesome stuff pushing you over the edge to preorder the game ;)

I'm 100% in on Pyric Cultist and I appreciate actually showing the damage numbers in this video cause it actually only makes me more excited for how high damage pyromancy will be, cause even tho the enemies are strong to fire damage and grey numbers are popping up, its still comparable to the damage of the other ranged attacks, meaning when we get past the starting area, fire damage will be even stronger. I was concerned at first but actually seeing it now, it doesn't seem like the starting enemies being strong against fire will actually put the cultist at any real disadvantage compared to other classes, it seems more that it actually just balances them with the other's damage when you start.

I love the idea of having the most freedom possible when doing stat allocations. Might be tough at first but most rewarding later on.
Plus, I don’t want to start with a god armor set and weapon. I want to find them

Excellent video thank you! I’m debating Dark Crusader or Hallowed Knight 🤔. I ordered the collectors edition back in May b/ I just wanted the goodies n not focused on early class unlock although ngl it’s a very nice option indeed. I’m so excited for Friday the 13th 👻
So tempted to get the deluxe version so I can play as a Nazgûl the whole time but so many of the classes look great I think it would be hard to choose a bad starting class! Love the video, can’t wait for all of your Lords of the Fallen content!!

Honestly I thought about the deluxe simply because of that, but honestly no need to spend more money if your gonna unlock it later it would be cool but money is a factor in my decision so I just bought the base game

If endurance+vitality determines your ammo bar, I guess mana depends on radiance and inferno.

You mentioned dual wielding possibly being the way to go for status effect builds. From your time in the game, are there actually any decent status effects worth building around? Im starting with status effects in mind, but if they aren't worth it, ill probably go my typical sword and board.

I might go Mournstead Infantry to play as a regular soldier and grab a sidesword early on to complement the spear, but honestly the knight is looking too good.
I had the same thought process using the spear for range and a short sword on the off hand for up close option as well as crowd control with the horizontal swings.

Loving the move-set on the exiled stalker from what I've seen so far. Will most probably start with that.
Is there like an Estus Flask system I can allocate? Like 3 for HP and 2 for Mana? Or is Mana only replenished by consumables that enemies might drop?
I hope it doesn't as that puts me off from using mages who look great.

Dark crusader be a great paladin.. I think the mournstead infantry is going be a beast.. I want a hybrid Melee with umbrol magic
umbral magic is a combination of radiance and inferno (if the gear that's umbral is any indication, considering it requires both those), so that's like to be difficult.
Waiting for release, so pumped for this game... hope it's good!
What are your thoughts on spell blade vs pure physical build balance in this game?

There doesn’t seem to be an umbral magic starting class. Which would be the best to start with for that and how long before we get spells/catalysts if that’s our goal from the start?
I bought the deluxe edition (for less than the standard version -- thanks Green Man Gaming!), so I'll be starting out as the Dark Crusader initially. I plan on playing through with every class.

A good note for condemned and stalkers, your bear hands scale s with agility and out damage almost every other starting weapon.
Naturally I speak for everyone when I say we want to see a condemned build. The bucket is clearly the gamers choice for a starting weapon

How does umbral magic work do you have to pump both infernal and radiance or is it its own thing
The only question I have is from what I have seen before from game previews of Lord Of The Fallen. Can every class use Radiance and Inferno? Also if they can, are they restricted by class on what and how much they can use? If any.
I've heard that this game only allows you to respec once, is it true? I liked how in elden ring you could respec multiple times, it's better for PVP and replayability I think.
Lore wise obviously the Dark Paladin seems to be the correct choice with the Orian Preacher making the most sense after that so ill play either of those. There was a 17 minute gameplay footage that was released a while back that featured a swordsman that was dualwielding radiance swords and seemed to be casting buff spells on himself. I'd like to create a character similar to that so I wonder which class would be a better start with that in mind? Dark Paladin or Orian Preacher?
This game looks so good, I wish Friday would come sooner. They should just release it already!
There is something i'm not sure to understand. Can you use ranged weapon like a bow and use spells with the same character ? The mana and the amo bar seems to be at the same place but seems to be different things.
Yes those are two separate things
The Throwables ammo gauge on the HUD is replaced by a Mana gage when you switch to magic and vice versa.

does performing a perfect deflect (or whatever it's known as in this game) negate all damage taken? Can every weapon be used to deflect?
I think you take chip damage so you need to attack to get it back

I love shields and spears in my souls games, but I’m really interested to see what a viable archery class feels like.
Might be more than just viable from what we've seen. Especially if there's elemental arrows beyond poison.

I know the war wolf starts with the fire boom for their sword. Are those replenished at rests as well or they are one time use?
I think they're mana based, the more mana you have the more often you can use it (arrows/throwables bar shift to mana bar when you equip a spell)
@@Uro_Boros Nah they're talking about the fire salts. It's a consumable. You can buy or find more though, its not very rare

How hard is getting currency at the beginning of the game? Assuming you want to make umbral magic and pick someone like the dark crusader, but you want to level radiance and inferno to 18 like the starting mage classes, would it be hard to get them to that point by grinding out beginning stuff?
Dark Crusader would only need 7 levels of Radiance bumps, which isn't bad. Hallowed Knight would need 9 which is a bit more. You might get this by the time you reach Skyrest, but unlikely.
How do fire salts work? Do they replenish when you rest and if not how easy are they to obtain. I love the idea of running around with a flaming sword but its kind of pointless if you can only use twice then run out.
It’s a consumable but they are farmable from enemies and can be bought at any vendor pretty much
Is there any status effects/afflictions in this game besides fire and bleed? Like poison and frost….etc?

Would you say Dark Crusader is in beginner class realm? I’m not a souls-like master, so I want to play with a class that is forgiving on my first play through.
I will either go Orion Preacher or Dark Crusader. The latter I want to turn into a paladin.

Since no class has both radiant and infernal (which ill need) and ill probably want at least some investment in the physical stats for different weapons anyway i think its mostly going to be a style choice for me at this point

ya when you're using a magic catalyst it'll show mana, and when you're using bows or throwing axes stuff like that itll show the slots for ammo
Are there any weapon arts or skills? Seems like all characters would only use the same attacks over and over?
This game looks like it has potential - however, I really don't see any diversity in the classes other than the Pyro and Preacher... The other 7 classes are basically the same build.
What about an umbral dark crusader build ? Do we have to upgrade inferno and radiance at the same time ? With Strengh ?

wonder if there will be references to the keystone and citadel incident from the first game given second game happens a thousand years after.
Is there transmog? The dark crusader outfit most likely will get outshined later but id love to use it as a look
you can dye your armor in the game so that adds to it but it seems to me like regular souls games where the armor will have stats but wont outweigh the need for style
By the way, strength builds will have it easier early game, there's those 2 handed maces that can drop, and a mostly strength scaling shortsword
This is my 1st souls game and I didn't hesitate to go Delux edition 💿on it.
Was thinking maybe the game should incorporate characters being able to hang on ledges in this game, just my thoughts💭
Highly recommend trying any of the actual souls games, just remember lords of the fallen isn’t a souls game but it is in the genre of a “soulslike”
The dmg should appear above the hp bar of enemies, and could be smaller too. How many players can a coop session have? Is it openworld?
@iMaPound420 no I really prefer in any game that the damage shows upper, so it doesn't obscure the model. Oh thx 3 players is fine.

Classes look fun.. going Dark Crusader for essentially a Strength/radiance build might switch for umbra magic.
was thinking the same wanna switch to umbra at some point though i dont know how much the low inferno stat will gimp you...
Every souls like has that memetastic build that is secretly the most OP in the game and it looks like Condemned has it all 😂
I'm gonna go udiranger warwolf. I'll level up inferno to make him a hybrid strength hitter and infernal caster.

What do you think of Exiled Stalker with leveling up inferno so I have a deadly assassin with ranged fire spells? Also how much inferno would i need to be effective with it ?
thats what I'm doing. stalker class early game, then dumping points into Infernal.
keep in mind stalker is a dex build and not a strength build, and they recommend pairing Infernal with strength to use the early game Infernal weapons scaled by strength.

@bleachfan7772 I would use the stalker class then but it doesn't matter much.
since you know what you want, either class option is fine. I'm only recommending stalker since the starting area is fire resistance and you can use that time dumping points into Infernal.
I'm literally in the exact situation as you in wanting an agility cultist. so I'm making 2 characters.
1 starting with cultist and dumping points in strength.
2nd starting with stalker dumping points into Infernal.
I hate not knowing what weapons are in the game to be able to pick a strength or agility build with Infernal. and I really had fun in elden ring with duel wield katanas:)

The Condemned also starts with an awesome dropkick attack which pushes enemies away.
Every class can kick.

Excellent video. But...can we respec, and if so, how difficult is it to do so? Is it limited to 1 per playthrough? If it's item related, can those items be farmed? Etc.
You can respec. You can only do once early game. More so late game.
