I'll tell you this. I'm a big souls guy and this game is far exceeded any expectations and honestly I put it right up there with Eldon ring. @@4GAMERZEalright too easy, just today alone my game crashed nine times, i played for two hours.... The amount of frame rate drops are insane STILL, and three times trying to join my friend the game froze...... The problems still exist after how many updates?
If theres a lovely gem out there that decided to browse comments before starting, id suggest picking up all the quests and then starting the rector/bulwark farm, by the time youre done you'll have finished the others and you can go to the carrion knights. I felt incredibly let down that this wasnt suggested in the video so i figured i would put it here in hopes it helps someone
So what happens when your quest bugs out and you know its bugged cuz youve killed 20 of them when it says ten? Cuz thats what mine did, even switched to using just the mace and still didnt work, this game is so fucking trash sometimes..... It genuinely makes me hate doing these convoluted, overly complicated for no reason side quests.....
I started with the carrion knights and killed more than enough yet it hasn't changed from saying illuminate 5 knights. Are you saying I should do all others before this specific one?
This is an excellent guide. It's both thorough and concise, thank you. I would add that for the Pureblades I just went back to my seedling from the Bulwark and there are thee of them in very close proximity that you can fight 1 at a time.
Thanks for the guide, got everything done rather quickly. For the 6tz Shrine I'd recommend using the Vestige of Ferrers the Charred and go back to the Lift and ride it down, OR the Vestige of Lost Berescu run back to the Double Elevator Shortcut and come out right at the Shrine Entrance, though that one might be the longest of the 3
Another good shortcut to get to the 6th shrine is going from the Bellroom vestige out toward where the pool of water and all the penitents are and just beyond that climb the tall ladder if you've already knocked it down from above in a run through before.
Kinda late but to kill pureblades, you can go to the same seed placed to kill avowed knights but turn right and there’s one and then after killing him there’s another right up the path for 2 easy kills.
For the pure blades if you go up the latter next to the shrine there’s one pure blade with a little healing thing and through the tunnel there’s another pure blade. Also a flowerbed in between so you can farm two and be close to the shrine when you’re done. (There is a third after the second pure blade in front of the elevator going up to the next area but he has an immunity thing so probably not worth it.)
I wasn't able to get Radiant Weapon because I progressed Dunmire's quest too far before buying it. To confirm, you CAN use salts (fire or holy), and that will count towrads the required kills. Hope this helps.
Thank you very much, Ninja Pups. Wonderful tutorial. I have now finished this one and the umbral one. I appreciate how much time you put into these, and how simple you make it. Very well done!
Thanks very much and appreciate the concise walkthrough. I have some interesting info to share as I was prepping for my Ironman run. I decided that I wanted Flickering Flail’s OP one hand special. I had been accidentally pulled through the closed door to Aubrey’s set (not kidding I have a video uploaded). This in fact did not allow me to use the special. It wasn’t until I followed your video that I was officially able to complete the quest to activate the special.
Late to the party (I don't know if anyone still plays this game) but for those having trouble with a particular kill 'X' mobs part of the quest: what worked for me (particularly Holy Bulwark guys) was to NOT check the statue until you kill the required number of enemies. I know ...counting.. but still, beats smashing your head into a wall and, let's face it, playing this game gets us to do that plenty enough already.
It's possible this got patched since the video was published, but you don't have to have Radiant Weapon or Holy Salts on the flail as long as the final blow *is* the Flail. I'm running Agility/Inferno so I technically don't even have the stats to properly wield the Flail, but the quest is progressing just fine. Radiant build probably makes this way easier, but whittling down the required enemies with whatever magic you have and then getting the killing blow with the Flail totally works.
EDIT: You CAN start multiple shrines at once, so a super easy way to get the Crimson Rectors and the Holy Bulwarks done is by placing a vestige seed before the barricaded bridge, right after the room where an Avowed ambushes you and a Marksman snipes you. Kill the bulwark, and then at the start of the bridge drop through the hole in the railing, there's a Crimson rector right there. Then just run up the stairs, turn right, and you're back at the seedling. And thank you so much for the guide, these armors look amazing!
thank you for all your had work on this, I would add that if you want to get to the pureblade shrine, you can use the bellroom and take a right, go into umbral and travel through the area up the stairs until you can take the elevator up tp the shrine, ill make a video to show in a moment
Guide was great thank you. Still took me like an hour to do it all but got the armor and the tincture (thought it was just the armor so this was a nice surprise). :)
Just a note, I didn’t use radiant weapon when killing the carrion knights and it still gave me credit for the kills; I actually maxed the flail (cause I assumed there would be a special ability for this weapon) and I used fire salts to kill the carrion knights. I didn’t know I was supposed to used Radient weapon. 🤷♂️ so maybe you don’t have to, or maybe maxing the weapon has an effect. I’m going to go to the next shrine and kill the next set of enemies to see if it gives me credit for the kills. Edit: just did the second set of enemies and again I just used Fire Salts No Radiant weapon spell. And i DID in fact get credit for the kills. Again: the Flail is Maxed, don’t know if that has an effect. Also, it should be noted that I DO have the spell, Radiant Weapon so maybe just acquiring the spell is required. Final Edit: The weapon does in fact have special abilities one handed and two handed L1+R2. 🤩. So my leveling to max was not in vain.
Oh that’s awesome. I didn’t know you could use the salts. I tried smite and fire but neither worked for me, though I didn’t have the weapon maxed so I’m not sure. Also good to hear it has its own ability.
2:00 You don't have to do the shrines in order. This is very helpful, because if you only have Radiance at 18, the Carrion Knights in the Tower are very difficult and I would recommend at least starting with the Holy Bulwark. You can farm these directly at the Vestige of Brother Jeremiah without having to walk and with almost no risk. In addition, you have to defeat the 5 Carrion Knights WITHOUT DYING, which can be very difficult given the tower structure. This is probably because they are very few in number and unlike other enemies, there are too few in the world to be able to kill them in one go.
I found it easier for the 6th shrine if you place a seedling in the corridor right before you go down the ladder at the Crimson Rector. You can rest out of umbral before the shrine and there is also a pureblade at each end of the corridor
At the vestige of Chabui there are actually 3 avowed, the third is in the next section to the right, just break through the debris, and he's at the edge. Also, you dont have to fight the ememies at the last location. Its there regardless.
When you're doing the avowed. There's actually 4 near that vestige. Kill the first 2 then there's 1 to the right up near the ledge of the platform then to the left up the stairs
For the Crimson Knight for the sixth shrine you can actually take the elevator down and there's that Crimson Knight right there on the platform that you can kill. Just go up and down the elevator 10 times and kill him and by this point you can kill him with one blow pretty much in the game so it's quite easy. That way you don't have to fast travel anywhere or lose your vestige seed.
Most of those quest must be done in one play without resting on latest patch...Killed like 7-8 carrion knight but with resting and quest was not complete. Only after i killed 5 without resting quest was complete.
What is the short way and elevator to the pureblade knights shrine where he’s on the throne? I’m sure I have the shortcut I just don’t remember… anyone?
9:45 did you notice there was something under the wooden plank, it looks like yellow butterflies and when I checked there was a red glowing ball, but I don't know how to reach it...
Sorry about that. If you go right from the bellroom, and immediately go into umbral and go through the flooded section there, the path will lead you to an outdoor area with cages, at the far right of the area is the elevator.

Great guide bit hate this quest im playing with randome enemys and random loot had to find the weapon who knows were and then helf the time the correct enemy didn't count so had to find some other one, agine the gide os great just wish the devs had thought about people using there modifier when making it :/
Not sure if anyone else commented this , or if I missed it in your video ...
But.. Last hitting with SMITE dmg does NOT count as a kill for this quest , has to be flail last hits
I finished the quest with lacerating weapon on the mace.
What armor do u have equipped now ?
That would be the ravaged helm, the paladin gloves and chest (aka the dark crusader set) and then the harrow legs
The best soulslike not made by Fromsoft, but how tf are we supposed to figure out these quests without a guide
Thanks❤
Anyone else having a problem with the bulwark bit iv killed 30 and it still telling me to do more
Does it matter which radiance weapon i use to kill them?
Can I use the Pieta sword or a radiance spell?
You have to use the flickering flail specifically
Do you have to use the flickering Flail? Or do other weapons work aswell?
You have to use the flickering flail to farm the enemies but you don’t need to use it at the final boss of this quest
Idk if this is a dumb question.. can i dual weild with the flail and something else??
Not if you want the kills the count
Please tell me what kind of swords these 2 red ones are ?
They are two of judge cleric’s corrupted swords
@@NinjaPups thank you
