I don't know if anyone already pointed this out, but the corpses are holding the brasiers on three different heights: waist (low tone), face (mid tone) and above the head (high tone). Knowing this, it will be impossible to miss the sequence.
Thank you for creating this guide! As a partially deaf/hard of hearing individual I thought for sure I would have to skip out on this one. Which is a shame since my main is an Umbral build. Couldn't decipher the tones, however, this helpful guide gave a step-by-step with visuals and made it possible. It truly is a tremendous help~❤
I’m so glad I was able to make it clear for you! It did cross my mind when I was making this that some players may have trouble with the tones, especially since there is background noise you can’t turn off when playing which is what inspired the way I designed this guide 😊
@@NinjaPups after watching you do it i also noticed the statues you light have diffrent poses for each pitch of sound. low is siting with it in its lap, med is sitting with it on its knees at eye level, high is holding it up above head.
@@Pandormu I was just going to make a comment about this, as I noticed it too when I was going through. I wish they had included a set around the shrines that lit up along with the tones, as that would help for those who have trouble hearing it.

It's easier than most quests, I can tell you right now. Hell Elden Ring had alot of missable shit and it's a great game.

This quest seems to be bugged for me. I'm in a playthrough where i lighted most of the torches and killed Dervla. I go to the shrines and do the emote, but no sounds play and the torches remain lit (I had looked it up, it seems the torches you lit before starting quest are supposed to reset for you to lit them again). No matter what i do can't seem to start quest properly.
@@davidtsmith33 That's the thing, it's not supposed to lock people out of the quest. The lit torches are supposed to go dark after you do the emote in front of the shrine and the sound starts, but in my case, the sound don't start after emoting and the torches remain lit. it's like the game doesn't even compute i'm doing the first step right.
Sadly, unlike the other armour sets this one can easily bug out even without you messing up. I, like many others, do not have the shrines respond to the putrid mother embrace gesture
I'm having this happen too. It was working at first, I didnt have time to solve the quest. I quit out and then came back and the quest won't respond. The gesture isn't working. The lights won't light up blue, or go out again.
It somehow glitched for me, I knew this was glitched so I saved revelation depths for later, never lit a torch before in there and made a backup save, but unfortunately it still bugged out.

If any one is still struggling despite a new game + or 0 +. Try starting chimes at the statue that you can access through Byron’s camp. Then follow all the steps as above. That statue seemed to be the only one that worked for me. Thanks for the video
Steups. Decided to try it anyhow with no luck. The first shrine you went to @Ninja Pups at 1:54 , that is the shrine and the first lamp to lit is right next to it right? Well I performed the gesture in front the shrine as directed but I didn't hear any tones (just the usual bell in the distance ringing) nor saw any indication to begin a quest. Anyhow I lit the first torch next to the shrine and followed to the second and third. Lit the third but it didn't change to blue. Returned to the shrine and saw the first torch wasn't blue either. Makes no sense continuing further I guess. What a waste. Edit: Out of curiosity, is there a way to reset the quest (in case you lit the lamps prior to the quest or lit them incorrectly)? Or is it that once you do one step wrong that's the end of it for you?....which is rather dumb IMO.

So it's a mix of sets. The chest and arms are from the Dark Crusader set, the helmet is the Ravager Helm (my guide for the Dunmire quest shows you how to get this) and I believe the legs are the Harrower Leggings which can be bought from Molhu if you turn in Harrower Dervla's Remembrance.

Quest is bugged for me, the shrines just don't react to my gesture. Sent a bug report to their support, I hope this will be addressed when they're back from holidays.

There's a bug in this quest.. If you quit mid sequence and return to the game again and tried to do the sequence again by using the gesture there's no longer gonna be a response to it and there's no longer a way to complete this quest, I just did that and now I'm looked out of the quest, also I've the first sequence so there's tree braziers that are lit and blue flames but that's about it, I can't trigger the other shrines anymore..
For some reason my music tones at the braziers were different than yours. Same sequence though. Maybe the order is different per player account or some hidden ID factor, not per character?

Probably because they messed up again and made it a buggy mess. Months later and I still can’t see the paladin memory after the crow boss, which means I still can’t fight the secret paladin boss and get his gear. They will never fix it either, as they only care about fixing bugs that take you away from their pay to win microtransactions to get ahead. Also, why the heck does it have to be all this running back and forth? Lords of the tedious depressing grind more like
I hope they fix this because like many of you I also lit all the torches along the way in my initial playthough. I think it was a requirement at the time. Either that or was necessary to illuminate the area/s for visibility sake. It's stupid now to have a quest including lighting certain torches in order when the torches you previously lit locks you out from the quest and reward.

Even after patch, if they lit all my lamps out, the quest is still buggued. You may pray as much as you want in front of the altar, when you lit the lamps the flames stays yellow red and never passe to blue. New Game +0 +1 etc) is mandatory

@@NinjaPups no I didn’t I worked it out. I was doing the gesture in front of the torch not the shrine. After I used the gesture on the shrine all the torches unlit
Seems bugged for me too, though I wonder if doing the Umbral ending might have done something? It would be dumb to lock it that way intentionally but, I wouldn't be surprised if doing the ending bugs it somehow.
Lighting torches doesn’t work. The emote doesn’t start the quest. Of course the only torches I lit when I first came down here was all those ones but I thought it was supposed to reset when u emote the shrine? This shit is a mess. Patch one thing bug another and the loop keeps going around lol
I think alot of the people complaining about how cryptic the new quests are dont realize that there actually are pretty good hints about how to complete them. They just arent in the game, you have to read the clues in the latest patch notes
The hints are good, but they definitely need to be in the game. Like left on a note or something. Nobody is going to be able to find those clues in a random patch note post a year from now.
iv followed ur rohgar and radiant videos and now im on the umbral one but for what ever reason i did the emote and no music played, i then lit the 3 brazzers and they didnt turn blue, im curious as to how i can redo or if i have to get in to a new game to be able to complete this quest line?
Thank you this helped me alot i was going to give up on this game because i really wanted this set but I couldn't get all the beacons to turn blue half of them fid and half turned orange with no more music playing luckily i was able to complete this with thw help of you this video and doing it on my second character, i dropped it to my main.
By permanent I mean they are not leaving the game. This was a question at the time because this armor set and weapon were introduced through an in game event, and people were worried it would go away when the event ends.

I think it's not a bug but in fact the bad one for certain I saw another one further away in the area and she makes the music on the other hand but this one on the other hand nothing. after testing I confirm, the statue which gives the song is not necessarily the same
This one glyched out on the last seqence. My game crashed and when I reloaded it there was no more music. So ithink if you start the fires before you gesture or you quite/crash halfway it glyches to where you can't complete it
hey i may found the solution for the bug... interact with the umbral shrine befor using the gesture even if u have it already because it seems like even if u dont get the gesture "again" u need to trigger this point at least it seems to fix it for me ( for me it was ng+ so i already had the gesture and didnt interact with it befor trying the quest and it didnt worked but after using the shrine it worked for me) its the same like the tortured prisioner quest u need to open the umbral belly even if u dont get the catalyst out of it but this is the trigger for the quest
Thing is is you already had braziers lit from passing through the area earlier (even if it's the same playthrough prior to the quest) there's no interaction prompt from the statue/shrine. So no interaction prompt from the shrines nor triggering of quest with gesture. It's just plain silly they couldn't have a brazier reset for those of us who been through there before.

i’m on the last boss and i’m going back to do this quest but the fire is already lit in some places for me and i followed the order given and it didn’t work

As of update 1.026 that rolled out yesterday, this quest is still bugged for me. I tried the gesture at 2 different statue locations, still doesn’t work and no response. Anyone got the same issue?
Yes same here, out of all the problems this game had on release I still played it up until this reason. I refuse to play a game were quests get bugged because real people have to do stuff IRL.
Quest is bugged for me. All torches were already lit, game already beat (radiance ending), no response from any altar from the gesture. Even tried them all in umbral, too. :( Hopefully they patch this, I don't want to do a whole new playthrough just for this.
I already lit the brazier things , and doing the gesture doesn’t reset them? Guess I’ll have to wait for a patch ? Maybe , if they even decide to patch it. It sucks too, because I got all the trophies in this game, I have every weapon, ending, armor , spell, even the pumpkin helm or whatever it’s called, the bucket lord’s armor and fist weapon, and of course the rhogar and radiance dlc armor and weapons. About the only thing I don’t have , are the armors from the shrines in sky rest bridge , because now way am I spending 40 hours farming coins , eyeballs , and hands🤣
Upgrade the Weapons to +10 for a special attack

I am loving these quest steps. As someone who grew up with JRPGs, these boost my sense of intrigue like I had in my childhood.

Do these armors provide any special bonuses or is it just cosmetic and better than average defenses or whatever?
It's geared towards Physical resistance and Wither resistance. That being said it's still really good of you're doing an umbral build

It's stupid now to have a quest including lighting certain torches in order when the torches you previously lit locks you out from the quest and reward.

Even after patch, if they lit all my lamps out, the quest is still buggued. You may pray as much as you want in front of the altar, when you lit the lamps the flames stays yellow red and never passe to blue. New Game +0 +1 etc) is mandatory
Do you need to start ng+ or reset your game to get these armor set I recently got this game back to get these armor sets so I want to know if you have to reset in any way to get them
I beat the entire game and never started a ng+ or reset my game. I was able to get all 3 sets of armor in my current completed game

Hi i was just wondering if there was a way to get the items without fighting eliane because i am fighting him right now and i can not go into the arena because it will make me fight him so is there a way i could get it without triggering the fight
So I guess for you to be able to get this you have to get it when first going into this zone without lighting the things

Yeah :/ unless someone has found a fix, you’d have to do a new play through
@@NinjaPups no I didn’t I worked it out. I was doing the gesture in front of the torch not the shrine. After I used the gesture on the shrine all the torches unlit

Seems bugged for me too, though I wonder if doing the Umbral ending might have done something? It would be dumb to lock it that way intentionally but, I wouldn't be surprised if doing the ending bugs it somehow.

Lighting torches doesn’t work. The emote doesn’t start the quest. Of course the only torches I lit when I first came down here was all those ones but I thought it was supposed to reset when u emote the shrine? This shit is a mess. Patch one thing bug another and the loop keeps going around lol
I think alot of the people complaining about how cryptic the new quests are dont realize that there actually are pretty good hints about how to complete them. They just arent in the game, you have to read the clues in the latest patch notes
The hints are good, but they definitely need to be in the game. Like left on a note or something. Nobody is going to be able to find those clues in a random patch note post a year from now.

iv followed ur rohgar and radiant videos and now im on the umbral one but for what ever reason i did the emote and no music played, i then lit the 3 brazzers and they didnt turn blue, im curious as to how i can redo or if i have to get in to a new game to be able to complete this quest line?
Thank you this helped me alot i was going to give up on this game because i really wanted this set but I couldn't get all the beacons to turn blue half of them fid and half turned orange with no more music playing luckily i was able to complete this with thw help of you this video and doing it on my second character, i dropped it to my main.

What do you mean by the items are permanent? Does that mean if I start a new character they are given to that one aswell?
By permanent I mean they are not leaving the game. This was a question at the time because this armor set and weapon were introduced through an in game event, and people were worried it would go away when the event ends.

I think it's not a bug but in fact the bad one for certain I saw another one further away in the area and she makes the music on the other hand but this one on the other hand nothing.
after testing I confirm, the statue which gives the song is not necessarily the same
This one glyched out on the last seqence. My game crashed and when I reloaded it there was no more music. So ithink if you start the fires before you gesture or you quite/crash halfway it glyches to where you can't complete it

You can. But I’ve heard this specific one can be bugged :( I don’t know how to fix it though
hey i may found the solution for the bug... interact with the umbral shrine befor using the gesture even if u have it already because it seems like even if u dont get the gesture "again" u need to trigger this point at least it seems to fix it for me ( for me it was ng+ so i already had the gesture and didnt interact with it befor trying the quest and it didnt worked but after using the shrine it worked for me) its the same like the tortured prisioner quest u need to open the umbral belly even if u dont get the catalyst out of it but this is the trigger for the quest
Thing is is you already had braziers lit from passing through the area earlier (even if it's the same playthrough prior to the quest) there's no interaction prompt from the statue/shrine. So no interaction prompt from the shrines nor triggering of quest with gesture. It's just plain silly they couldn't have a brazier reset for those of us who been through there before.
Didn't work for me the first time. Forgot to do it the second time. Just got it now lol

Had no chime at all and started NG+. Now i can hear it...
i’m on the last boss and i’m going back to do this quest but the fire is already lit in some places for me and i followed the order given and it didn’t work

mines for some reason got no sound playing and while following ur steps it does not turn blue at all and stay lits the whole time. The gmae is glitched right?
As of update 1.026 that rolled out yesterday, this quest is still bugged for me. I tried the gesture at 2 different statue locations, still doesn’t work and no response. Anyone got the same issue?
Yes same here, out of all the problems this game had on release I still played it up until this reason. I refuse to play a game were quests get bugged because real people have to do stuff IRL.

Quest is bugged for me. All torches were already lit, game already beat (radiance ending), no response from any altar from the gesture. Even tried them all in umbral, too. :(
Hopefully they patch this, I don't want to do a whole new playthrough just for this.
I already lit the brazier things , and doing the gesture doesn’t reset them? Guess I’ll have to wait for a patch ? Maybe , if they even decide to patch it. It sucks too, because I got all the trophies in this game, I have every weapon, ending, armor , spell, even the pumpkin helm or whatever it’s called, the bucket lord’s armor and fist weapon, and of course the rhogar and radiance dlc armor and weapons. About the only thing I don’t have , are the armors from the shrines in sky rest bridge , because now way am I spending 40 hours farming coins , eyeballs , and hands🤣
What do you mean 40 hours? I've been at it for about 70 and I'm almost done with the coins! Just few more (this excludes tints 😂)
