A love apple. I've turned some cute little things from the branches that have fallen from my tree. That tree needs to come down this year. It'll live on.
Love the apple wood! Your work is true art and your teaching dialog is so awesome! The 80s Celtics were the best... Robert Parish, Kevin McHale, Dennis Johnson, Danny Ainge, Bill Walton. Led by the Goat, Larry Bird.
Good day ... we have not seen any content from you for a couple months. Trusting that your are ok and enjoying a well deserved hiatus or vacation. Wishing you and your family a blessed summer filled with gentle seasonally appropriate weather and restful evenings. Peace friend.
Nice job Peggy. I made one from a wet apple stump left in my garden. It’s not so stubborn when wet, or perhaps English apple is softer than American apple. 😂😂😂
Peggy you have released the inner beauty of that lump of wood. Incredible figuring in the wood and yes, the Acs polish does enhance the beauty. I agree with Daniel Cole’s statement, here in NE Ohio our apple trees rarely exceed 6-7”. Wishing you and your family a blessed week filled with gentle seasonally appropriate weather and restful evenings. Peace
Beautiful, but I like most woods. I have turned crabapple and it was a little red, and I worked around the wind shake cracks when cutting my blanks. I really enjoy your turning videos and I miss you and worry about you when I don't see you on a regular basis. Take care of yourself.
Turned out nice Peggy. I've never turned apple but I've several bowls that I've started, had problems with them, set them aside and came back later after figuring out how to finish them. Finished a small osage orange bowl today that the tenon failed twice! Had to put it aside for a couple weeks to mull things over. Got two sweet gum blanks I've been sitting on that cracked badly while drying that I've finally returned to after more than a year. Thanks for sharing your talent! Stuart
Good to see you doing another great bowl! I really like the “flaws” I think they really add character to the piece. Of course your talent is responsible for the majority of the character 👍🤠
Wonderful work as always, you are so patient. I have been using the Acks products for about a year now and it is the best I have found. Thank you for the recommendation.
Good evening, Peggy. I like Apple wood, however, Apple wood likes to crack so I just go with it. I've used CA, epoxy and just left the cracks. One time I used CA in the cracks then use the wood burning tool to highlight the cracks, which I like but got mixed reviews from others. Your bowl is very nice, Acks was perfect for the finish. The charcuterie board is gorgeous, no trouble selling that.
Hi. Im thinking of taking up woodturning as a hobby to relax from working in an office. I see the flaws in the piece that you mentioned but I like It anyway. There is a natural touch to it!
Lovely bowl Peggy, that apple is a bit lighter than any I have but it sure looks lovely in that bowl! My apple is also from a crab apple tree and the pieces are smaller than what you have, well done and thanks! Cheers Al
Yet another Beautiful bowl! After watching your videos I purchased some Ack's paste and couldn't be happier with the finish it produces... thanks for the great tips!
Hello Ms. P I was wondering have you ever turned anything using a Florida native wood called Cinnamomum camphora ? 9 years ago I discovered the beautiful grain and color patterns in this wood when I was in needed some small boards for a project and low on cash. So I cut down a big limb and milled boards the old fashion way and finished my project. Since then I have turned some small bowls with on an old Sears 12 inch lathe made in 1972. Well keep of the great works of art.
Love your videos l miss my lathe I had a one just like yours. I sold it because I went through a divorce. Now I regret selling it and can’t afford another one.
It look good. I try only to use a few words anymore. Maple walnut Dash most of the stuff turns out really well. I’m tired of fighting other species of wood. Have a nice day.
that is a YUGE hunk of applewood. where do you get pieces that big ? where can I get pieces that big ?? the only applewood I can find is small pieces and even that is few and far between. any way , always good to see you. happy wood woking !
Very nice Peggy! Do you have a bowl corer? You could have made possibly two more bowls out of that blank. Saved me a lot of wasted wood going on the floor.😊
Any dry Apple I have turned is kind of plain until the finish goes on it. It also a little squirrely to turn when it good and dry. It's always worth it, though.
Good day to you I’m from the uk sorry I don’t follow basketball but my grandson started to play a bit I’m more into football or cricket Chelsea fc or Kent cc and England
I'm not a turner, so this may sound silly. Is there no way to save some of the wood to make smaller bowls instead of just shaving it out? It just seems like an awful waste of an expensive product.
Love the chipmunk voice hahaha. A beautiful bowl and the cutting board is beautiful.
😊 thank you
Lovely bowl, lovely lady. Glad that you are back ,my friend. ❤
Thank you! 😊

Hi. Im thinking of taking up woodturning as a hobby to relax from working in an office. I see the flaws in the piece that you mentioned but I like It anyway. There is a natural touch to it!

Where in the world did you find an Apple blank that big? Here in Ohio you're lucky to find it 6-7" ! Beautiful work as always!
Good ole Maine!
Very Pretty Bowl. Reach out to Lisa Ramlow she can Help you a lot with any Lathe work. May ask Lisa about a bowl Core remover save on Wood Chips 👍🏻
Ok thanks!
@@PFWoodturning Peggy did you find time out in your Busy day to chat with Lisa about Core tool setup ?
Thanks again Peggy for another great video.
QQ, does your Total Boat discount code still work?
Thank you
It should, let me know if it doesn’t.
Maybe it's just me, but I find it easier to rough from the tailstock and work towards the edge. I have more support that way.
