Haters are gonna hate. I think it takes a lot more class and courage to film and post something like that, than to try and convince people that it never happens to you. Any turner who never had something like that happen, hasn't explored the process or the creativity necessary to make real art. You do great work! Please continue to do so.

Hi 👋, Peggy, That was a bad Woopsie, luckily no damage done, and a great repair, we all make mistakes and things happen. It’s how we get round them to correct them that makes a job worth doing, it turned out very nice in the end, stay safe, Phil from the moulin France.

Thank you for sharing this insightful video Peggy. I am glad that you didn’t get hurt when the blank shattered. I’m not sure about the bubble gum resin but it is your artistry and craftsmanship that brought mr to your channel... and the pink I’d growing on me. Your cutting board is quite interesting. It would be interesting to see how you build them.

Those naysayers who say you shouldn't be a turner just because of a piece flying off from a turning, they aren't wood turners. As a beginner i have done catches or pieces flying off and i have learned to stand aside when turning. It is all part of the learning experience. Keep up the great work . Have fun and be safe.

A beautiful save, well worth the effort. As I said before pay no heed to those negative critics, wood is unsafe, lathes are unsafe, sharp tools are unsafe, put the lot together then we have an inherent unsafe interest. The trick as you say is to be aware at all times, which you are.keep up the turning.

Another beautiful bowl Peggy! As far as the “safety” issue …… having watched you turn numerous pieces I am sure, you would not do something that might put you in danger of harming yourself. Would I turn that piece ….. Definitely not! But, I am a new wood turner that does not have the skill, knowledge and experience you have. It is easy to be an “expert” on social media! You obviously know what you are doing and I appreciate it that you share your knowledge with all of us 🥰🤠🇨🇱

Great. I have watched a lot of turning videos and what I like with yours is ... that you tell/explain what you are doing as you go along. And stop the lathe so that we can see how it's coming along.
Phil Anderson does the same, and that's why I love his vids as well. So many others just show the turning with no interactions with the viewer. Might as well just FF to the end product.
    so thanks.

Hi Peggy, great looking bowl. I’m not a fan of pink, blues and greens are more to my liking, but the pink worked very well in this bowl.
I saw the video on Facebook and how all the Safety Police jumped in. All of them acting like they’ve never had something go sideways when turning a piece.
There are turners that will never attempt to turn something that could be questionable, but some of my best pieces have been made from wood that some would have thrown away.
But as you said, stand outside of the line of fire, make light cuts and wear proper safety equipment.
Woodturning in itself is a dangerous hobby, but how boring life would be without a little bit of danger in it. 😂
Keep up the great work, making beautiful pieces.

I don't think there is a turner in the world that hasn't had a piece explode on the lathe, so people that give you negative comments are either not turners or extremely lucky.
