Gravy mix Makes 8 pks gravy. 3 T. Bullion 1/4-1/2 t Pepper 3/4 c All purpose flour To prepare: 4 T butter 2 T Gravy mix Cook 1 min. Add: 3/4 c Water Boil cook 2-3 min to thicken! Thank You Ginny!
Over the years, I have thrown out more of those packets than I have used. Even though they are still in date, because of the humidity, they get hard, clump up and don't dissolve. I think making mixes like this and storing them in glass jars with dessicant packets will solve the problem. Thanks for sharing the recipe. Keep 'em coming!😊
I agree that packets are a waste. and it is so easy to make decent gravy. I use corn starch, however. It thickens without flour flavor, does not readily lump and is gluten-free for those who need it. I am also picky about bouillon, as I use HERB OX or Wellsley Farms, because they doo not have MSG.
I was just thinking that this would make a great Meal In A Jar (MIAJ) for breakfast! A small jar of this, a jar of home-canned breakfast sausage , a packet of "just add water" biscuit mix (do you have a recipe?) and water to mix everything ... biscuits and gravy.😋 Add some canned fruit.
Thank you so much for putting together so many great DIY kitchen essential videos to share!!! What a wonderful & very handy recipe to know! Probably could use this in a grid down situation with ghee too. Thanks for inspiring everyone to grow & use their "essentials pantry". God Bless🙏🏻
Good afternoon Jinne! I am mixing this up today! You are so right about all the packaged crap in the stores. i mean what is bioengineered food. Personally I would rather not know. My husband and I just bought a 1940 old miners cabin in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan sight unseen that has siding on the outside and sheet rock inside for $23,000 cash. Our hope is to turn our small 1/3 acre yard into a homestead of sorts. We are wanting to plant a lot of berry bushes, asparagus, rhubarb, and a garden as well as raise chickens and possible rabbits for food. We want to know what we are eating!
Omg love it, love it, did I say love it!!! Just got the stuff to make homemade Wondra love this for my scalloped potatoes and most thickening I need to do....but the homemade gravy sounds even better!!! Thank you so much for this recipe!!!
Once again love these easy recipes that you share for making cost effective items that we all use. I myself can't use the gravy mixes because I'm sensitive to a lot of additives but I'm sure that this one will be another one to put in my file along with the other ones you have recently given all of us who follow your channel. My only will concern will be what all they add to the different bouillons that you have to use for this but am anxious to check it out. Because who doesn't love gravy.
I have to be very careful with these, Certain processed salts will send me into anaphylactic shock and I will need to whip out the EpiPen and get to the ER. Thank you. God Bless, stay safe and warm.
Hey Homestead Corner, I am back after doing a tibia hairline fracture, It was right before the 25th of November went from nearly 300 pounds and am now 250 or so. Very disappointed so far as they were very slow.
I was just wondering if this could be mixed up using butter powder rather than fresh butter? Either way, I’m making this tomorrow! Have been buying the large shakers at Sam’s Club, but I like this option much better. Thank you!💕🇺🇸
Butter powder once reconstituted with water won't melt so I don't think it will work. But you could maybe add butter powder to another oil or lard and melt/mix before adding the gravy powder. That might work. I try to use my excess stock of butter powder instead of fresh expensive butter also.
I bought some individual packets of ghee and olive oil to add to some of my meals in a jar. Not cheap, but I don't use them in a lot of jars. Either would work with this recipe.
Thank you so much for this recipe. I always wanted to know how to do this. But the only thing is. The only flour. I can use is self-rising flour. I hope it works because that's the only flower I have. And right at the moment no I do not have the money to go out and get regular flour
I did buy a bunch of gravy packets at Aldi during the holidays for $.48 each or something like that. No MSG like buillion cubes. Does anyone know of non -MSG buillion cubes? I have powder but not cubes

What a great idea! Thanks Jinne!
Thank you! I had to use one of those pouches tonight and the amount of sodium was horrible. Now I can make my own. Your awesome.
There is a ton of salt in those, and 20 other crazy ingredients. 💕🇺🇸
Thank you for this Jinne❤

I love it!! Those packets have too many ingredients and they're expensive for what they are.

Wrote it down. Gonna give it a whirl. I like my gravy.
What a nice recipe thanks
Thanks again !!!
Good easy recipe
So easy and so good, I love the flavor also.
❤❤❤thank you dear Jenny !!A great and wonderful tip we can so easily do!!
How much of the gravy mix is equivalent to the packet? Love this idea!! I am doing this!
The batch I showed makes almost a cup of gravy, so maybe double that to equal a package.

Thank you so very much for this, I have always struggled with making gravy, I made this tonight and it was perfect!

I just mixed up some of this gravy mix…can’t wait to try it!
I was just wondering if this could be mixed up using butter powder rather than fresh butter? Either way, I’m making this tomorrow! Have been buying the large shakers at Sam’s Club, but I like this option much better. Thank you!💕🇺🇸
I'm not sure how that would work out with clumping... It's worth a try, though.

This could substitute for cream of -- soups by using milk instead of water in casseroles too.
Thank for sharing. Do you have a video on how to make white country style gravy? 😊
That is coming up later this week. 💕🇺🇸
I did buy a bunch of gravy packets at Aldi during the holidays for $.48 each or something like that. No MSG like buillion cubes. Does anyone know of non -MSG buillion cubes? I have powder but not cubes
How about white Gravy Mix. With Powdered Milk? ❤
What a great that way you don't have all those packets in your pantry
Can you use butter powder instead of the stick butter?
Could this be made in microwave
I'm guessing it could, but I don't have a microwave to test it.
What kind of bouillon did you use?
No sifting?
What a great idea! Would corn starch work instead of flour? I also have arrowroot...would that work too?
I'm sure either of those would work, you may have to adjust the amounts.
@@HomesteadCorner 👍🏻❤
Jinne, is there anyway to use powdered butter in place of regular butter?
I'm not sure how that would work as far as clumping goes..
Can you suck air out of it and it last longer?
