I had no idea you could make your own ketchup at home. I will definitely have to try this. I bet it tastes much better than the stuff you buy at the store.
I like powdered cloves, cumin, black pepper and Worcester sauce (which helps dilute it) as well as molasses and cayenne.
what a good recipe to share with us canner, homesteaders, preppers, and french fry lovers!
Thank you 😊
I'm always learning all kinds of good stuff from you
Thank you for this!
Love your videos
Great recipe!
Thanks
Thanks, I'm gonna try this
Be sure to check the % of acetic acid in your vinegar. It used to be a given that vinegar was 5%, but this year a lot of companies have diluted their vinegar down to 4%.
The 4% is typically for making Asian style sauces. It’s been around for years.
@robinsilver8934 thanks for that. It isn't safe if you plan to use it for canning.
Thank you, for a healthy recipe for ketchup.
Tomato paste is healthy.
Thanks again. I love your recipes.
Easy and delicious.
🙏👍❤️✨💫✝️🌟🧡🍁🍂🌻
thanks i will try it
Thanks. Never made ketchup: so I’m glad to see this.
Great idea. I've never tried that before but I will now. Thanks Jinnie for sharing
Ha! That's great! Why didn't I think of that?!
Great video!,,, thank you and stay safe!
Thanks for sharing. I have never made my own ketchup.
I love ketchup! My best friend bought me a shirt that says, "I put ketchup on my ketchup". I've never made my own but I will now, thank you! 😊
Love it! My youngest daughter loves it as well..
AWESOME !!! Thx ! I can use this as a good base. I can change it up sometimes if I want...cloves, maybe anise or cinnamon or liquid smoke...erythritol or sugar replacements...or I can leave it just like this. ;) Much appreciated. Thx.
Great video! Thanks for sharing.
Wow I never knew it was so easy to make ketchup. Gonna have to try it tomorrow
Thanks for sharing recipes for ketchup
I didn't think it would be that easy , awesome , Thank you Jinne
Good morning and thank you I've been looking for a good recipe for ketchup
Oooooo something new to try!
Jinnie thank you for this great recipe. I’ve never made ketchup before but that’s about to change. You are the best!!
Take bold ends off your paste can. It's so much easier to get all the paste out!
Very Cool!
I’ll try this. I’ve made with fresh romas before, and a little sugar and spice goes a long way! I want to try without out additional sweeteners since tomatoes are naturally sweet and I need to watch blood sugar. The spices in those amounts from my experience will overwhelm!!
Interesting video, thanks for sharing, God bless !
Thank you!!! I am definitely making this!!
I never realized it was that easy. Thank you.
I am new to your channel and I am definitely going to make this and have my kiddos try it. I will say your recipe is the easiest one I have seen.
Thank you and God bless 🙏
Thank Jinne.
Could you make more and Waterbath it?
I use paste, vinegar,1 or 2 Tb water and spices. Good for a low sodium diet. Thanks for the cooking idea.
Hello have a good evening.
Looks great! Love your choice of your top.
Great recipe, and certainly more economical than the "H" brand. Just bought some with no added suger small size was $4. Will be making your recipe soon! Thanks!
Wow Jinne, I had no idea about this recipe. I am going to give it a try!
I do NOT like ketchup but that recipe looks like it would be really good Jinnie.... Thanks for sharing 🙏🙏 Kendra
Thank you for sharing, I am going to try this.
Looks Yumz, & Yes you can definitely customise it.
TFS HC, take care & keep really busy everyone. ❤🙂🐶
Thanks so much! I really didn’t know how to make ketchup!
How would red wine vinegar do?
❤❤
❤❤❤❤
I would go sugar free sweetener because of my diabetes
If you do not want to cook it, then blend the ingredients well and let it sit for a few days for the seasonings to meld.
On the stove add to a pot do NOT let it stick to the pot:
2 c 6oz tomato paste
1/8 c sugar (2T)
7T white vinegar OR any king you want (use a few T at a time)
2T onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder
½ tsp salt (to taste)
You can add a little bit of water it is too thick OR more vinegar.
Adjust your seasonings to your taste.
When you reach the consistency you like take it off the stove.
I had lots of tomatoes, so I made it from scratch, and my family loves it. But it took a loooooong time to cook to the right consistency. Thanks for the idea, I will add some tomato paste to speed up the process.
Could stevia be used in place of white sugar?🌞
Definitely going to do this…do you know how long it will last in the fridge? We don’t eat a ton of ketchup, but would love to have this on hand when we do
Great Recipe to keep on hand. But How much TBLS of water did you put in it? 6 TBLS?
Thank you so much for the recipe!!!
What would be the best buy date?
Does it have to be refrigerated and how long is it good for?
It should be good for 3 weeks in the fridge, 6 months in the freezer.
@@grlnexdoorable thanks
Thanks that looks easy. mustard next :)
Do you refrigerate it?
Because it has vinegar would you need to refrigerate it? Probably so since it doesn't have all those nasty preservatives. How long will it last?
Is this shelf stable or should you store your extra bottle in the refrigerator?
Could I make this using tomato powder? I have tons of it and not sure what all to do with it LOL!
Thinking about this myself. I make tomato paste with tomato powder all the time and it is just like what you get at the grocery so I’m going to make the tomato paste from powder first. Then use her recipe. Quite excited to try it. Love this channel.
@joylouise5417 Would you mind sharing the outcome here? I still haven't tried this recipe with my tomato powder and would love to hear how yours turns out for you.
Isnt 4 tablespoons equal to 1/4 cup? Im not good at the ratios.
