    Hey Jeni, I found a dry pork base in a local Asian market , and used your beef gravy dry mix as a base, swapping out the Marjoram for Coriander. I used those pork gravy packets for a long time, to make a gravy for egg foo young, doctoring them up with soy sauce and oyster sauce. and for my pork chow mein stir fry. I'm thinking it would also work great for pork chops or a pork roast as well... Thank you for the inspiration, and for your efforts... Much appreciated!!!

    I just really appreciate your videos - this one especially because there's so many different ways to use these mixes. When I made a beef gravy mix, I used a 1/2 tsp. of Instant coffee granules, for a richer beef gravy flavor. I'll grind the Instant coffee, and add to gravy flour mix. I like it that way. I add instant coffee granules, not a whole bunch of it, to make gravy mix for Swedish Meatballs.

    I've actually scheduled a day next week to go through my herbs and spices to see what we're low on, refresh my seasoning mixes and all of that. I bet mushroom powder would be awesome in that beef gravy. I got some Worcestershire powder after watching some Pit Masters and how they were saying they put it in their rubs and even horseradish powder. My grandma used to say that Kitchen Bouquet was the secret to her brown gravy. I'm totally adding the Au gratin to my list.

    1) Is their Life Insurance is up to date?
    2) Should I put it on the Monthly Menu and how often?
    Their first answer either qualifies they to get to try the Recipe.
    The second answer tells me how good or better it was without them saying & hurting my feels.

    I would love to keep these mixes on hand! I do have a question though. I have a corn allergy. Is there a good alternative to adding corn starch? Also gluten intolerant so I'm assuming these can be prepared with gf flours?

      You can use a substitute you regularly use for any other recipe.

    Jeni have you ever browned all purpose flour in a dry skillet in the oven? I keep a jar of browned flour in my pantry to darken gravy. I brown flour at around 400 degrees for about an hour or until it is as dark as you want. Stir pretty often as it browns.

    Hi Jeni! For the alfredo sauce, if I used Judee's dehydrated parmesan cheese powder, would it still be shelf stable or would I need to store in the fridge? TIa!!

    I like what you’re doing their index in a cup into a gravy but have you ever sliced hard-boiled eggs and then put them in the gravy and it’s done so they get hot. Get you some nice toasty bread and pour the sauce over this toast over bread. I think they called it hers it called à la king recipe.

    • @Jeni_Gough
      @Jeni_Gough  7 месяцев назад

      Yes, I like to add chopped hard boiled egg to gravies occasionally. I still serve it over meat and potatoes as normal gravy, I call it gravy.
