How long will the cream soup mix last with the Food Saver Vacuum packaging? That is very interesting. Your recipe for dehydrated broth was very valuable. Bone broth is very healthy and nutritious. Thank you Mary for all your recipes. God bless you days ahead. I am learning and certainly enjoying your RUclips presentations. We love your smiles.
Another option for a dairy free version is to use Coconut Milk Powder which you can find in many stores today, and No, it does Not Taste of coconut if you get the Unsweetened. This with Powdered Potatoes make a LOVELY potato soup on a Cold Day.
You know, Mary, I have often wished for a knowledgable 'mother figure' who would teach me the lifestyle skills your channel offers. I had to learn the trial and error way, as my own dear mom, bless her heart, is anything but a hands on type of person and has very little patience for cookery and such. After watching your videos (and learning so much!), I feel like God has blessed me with just such a person in you.
Me too! I'm just going to adopt Mary as a sister. I have no Aunt's, parents, or siblings. I just adopt people! You get to pick them! God brings people into your life for a reason, sometimes for a moment, a day, or a lifetime.
WOW, I really like the idea of making a dried soup mix with different flavors, such as chicken, beef, veggie, and mushroom. I am the retired chef George Martini who keeps learning from your RUclips videos and website. Thank you for all this free information which I know takes you a lot of time to prepare.
So Mary, how does it really feel to comprehend that you are among the very few truly necessary people in our society ? So many have been lost to us along the way. You, and the others, giving helpful knowledge and instructions on how to get the most out of our foods are so very much appreciated. Please let me trust that you know that.
This is awesome! Canned soup has become so expensive and has so many unnecessary ingredients. This is a God-send. Thank you Mary, for the hard work you put in to these videos so we can follow more easily. God bless you! Consider this your ministry. You are needed so much now we are all living more isolated. Thank you! James 3:17,18😇
Thank you Mary! This is perfect because my son is on a gluten and soy free diet. I haven’t found any commercial brands without those ingredients- and the fact that it is shelf stable is a wonderful bonus! 💛Robin
Mary - I stumbled on your channel a few months ago and was drawn in by your familiar, lovely accent (am a North Jersey girl). After a few videos, I was hooked and am learning so much. This channel is one of my go-to spots for building my pantry skills. You are a wonderful gift. Thank you for these lessons and your wonderful approach. - Karen
I am on a lifetime reduced sodium diet…(Hypertensive) Canned soup is a 100% no no. Sodium content is crazy. I make my own soup but this is a game changer. Thank you!!
Just made this yesterday with my sister, we made mushroom soup mix as she needs to be super careful with sodium and msg. She’s so excited to make a tuna noodle casserole using this mix.
Hello Mary, thanks for this recipe. I used it for dinner last night and added mushrooms sauteed in butter, it was delicious. Thank you so much for all your help. Debbie from Qld, Australia.😋
I am getting ready to dehydrate some veggies. You just gave me an idea to stock some celery in there that could be later ground up for cream of celery. I am debating whether or not to skin my tomatoes... depends upon what I end up making. Quantities of veggie powder would be helpful, but you could always just add it to what you are preparing and leave the base plain. I love this idea!
Well..we used coffee mate organic dried, with bullion for richness, for storage, need calories if your starving, and it stores for many years, tested after nine years. For prepping. Asian stores have many selections on any bullion .won ton billion is a favorite.
Omgosh Mary, you don't know how many times I wished for this. I don't like all the stuff in the popular soups and although there are organic ones they cost a lot. Thank you ❣️ Charlotte
Hi Charlotte, I am so happy to hear that you can find this useful! Yes, I like that it just has a few ingredients. So much better than store-bought. Love, Mary❤️🤗❤️
I love it! Thank you! I need more shelf stable things to build my pantry. We are on the go a lot and I want something I can make quick but is still traditional healthy food. I know this has to be possible! It says it right there in the bible...with God all things are possible! Mark 9:23 I have an instant pot now, and that is a good start, Lord. Heeheehee :-) Thank you for sending us Mrs. Mary for those of us who didn't learn this stuff from home!
I got a bunch of marked down mushrooms last month and dried them with this in mind. I always called it "cream of something soup". I'll be adding the mushrooms, the boulion, and come dried celery as well. I have a countertop Food Saver along with the mason jar attachments and I use them almost daily. I used to have the handheld model that you have. Just so you know, that clear plastic "cup" on the end is for doing bags. When you take it off, you'll have a stem that fits into the hole in the canning jar attachment. Happy cooking!
This is great! I've been wanting to make some soup mixes. I'm gluten free so this is perfect- no wheat flour. Corn starch is what I used for most things as a thickener, so this recipe is great for me! Now I need to watch your video on drying beef and chicken broth. Thanks Mary!
Hi Mary! I've been looking forward to this video and so glad that you have the written recipe on your website. That way I don't have to worry about writing the correct amounts, etc. and can just watch your video and I feel like we're just having a chat. Thank you so much!
Hi Mary I made a celery Soup ( 1st x) and it was so bland. Then I found this cream of soup you posted. I mixed up a batch added some to the celery soup & boy was it AMAZING. thank you so much.
It's only been since March that I've been playing with powdered milk. It has been amazing what I've been able to do with this one item. Love this idea! Easy to just toss together for the occasional use as well. Thanks!
I will make this with chicken, mushroom, and a beef bullion. The Cans are so expensive. My choice of Soup is Cambells. I think this will be better and more healthful for us as we get older. Thank you 😊 I found a seasoning called Umami that has a great taste and will be using this for my mushroom soup. Porcini mushrooms all dried and ready to go! I have allergies and if any manufacturer changes their recipe and I don’t catch it! Yikes 😳. Lol
If you use an unflavored version of this and less water you can make a bechamel sauce. From this basic sauce you can make cheese sauce, & alfredo sauce and many more.
I would think that you would make the base with out the bouillon. Instead of 1 1/2cups of water, add that much milk. Or reconstitute dry milk to the same amount? And put a BUNCH of real butter in it! 😉
I love cream of mushroom, but don't care for cream of chicken. Mom used to mix cooked bowtie pasta with cream of mushroom and cooked broccoli. It was so delicious. When I was younger I could easily eat a whole pot of it in one day. I pretty much ate like a teenage boy from birth until my early thirties. Now I'm in my early forties. It takes me a couple of days to finish it now. Someone came by and hopefully fixed our internet as it kept going in and out.
just an add on- if you cover your mix with a bit of clean cloth or coffee filter, your chance of it sealing is improved. I use the hand brake bleeder method and learned this from Heidi. :) Many blessings to you Mary. Thank you for what you do.
Wonderful! So happy I found your channel 😊. I’m newly subscribed and looking forward to making these for our family. We live out in the country so it will save us trips to the grocery store while adding a healthier twist also. Thank you for sharing with us. Many Blessings 🌸
I’ve always wanted a cream of onion and a cream of garlic soup to use in casseroles instead of cream of mushroom. I always thought the onion would be good in the green bean casserole dish. I’m going to try and make this.
I'm going to try this for winter because I love cream of chicken soup but it's getting so expensive! Thanks for teaching me everything I need to know.🥰
I can't wait to try this. I think I will make the mushroom version. BTW there's nothing wrong with MSG. It's been used for hundreds of years with no harmful side effects. The bad hype about it came from the racism of the 50's. One guy once said it gave him a headache and the press just went crazy with it. He later admitted that it could have been anything that caused his headache. It is safe and it really accentuates flavors. Anyway the idea of having a shelf stable cream soup base sounds amazing. It would be great as a base for cream pasta sauce.
Hi Mary. Thank you for all you do. You educate people on a traditional way of cooking that's very important for health. Thank you for keeping these teachings alive. I was wanting to put a video request in for a liver pate or liver spread recipe. That would be much appreciated if you would be able to do that. Much love
@@MarysNest you're welcome :) I have one more question please. When you use floursack towels how do you wash them so that laundry soap doesn't come out on cheeses it yogurts.
What a great idea! I will be trying this with small jars for healthy autumn meals during camping and hiking trips. Thank you for another educational video!!
Mary, put me on the list if you ever write a book. Not just a recipe, but one that includes your detailed cooking knowledge. I love watching your utubes. Now, that being said I have a question about the vaccum machine you're using. I use a food saver and I have jar attachments, however, you're the first I've seen that vacuum packs powder. Evetywhere else says it will ruin my food saver. Opinion? Or do I need another fun gadget for the kitchen?

I wasn’t aware of any of these type of soup mixes. Learning and happy with yojr videos. You explain everything so well. Thank you for all your knowledge 😊👍
Mary what kind of seasoning do you use with this recipe?? Garlic, onion, parsley, what and how much for a quart jar.

Hey Mary question about your cream soup base can I make it without the chicken bouillon and if so how many teaspoons of bouillon would I have to use for a single use would love to try this with your dried powders just don't want to make all of the chicken thank you in advance Mary I've learned so much from you
Awesome. I just substituted powdered plant milk due to not using dairy. Shelf life shorter yet easy way to have cream soup. Could you please let me know which hand held food saver you used? It was not listed below. Thanks. Love your channel.
Wow Mary ,I love that you have the time stamp on your videos. I watch the full video then go back to get details I may have forgotten later . That time stamp makes it so easy. Going to make some of your Christmas gifts this year for family. Thank you so much!
Wonderful idea! I always weigh and prepare the ingredients cakes in advance and bake later. Lovely Mary. Please could you show us how to make vegan cheese. Thank you. 🙏🙏🙏
Thank you Mary! I think we can find dried mushrooms at some Asian markets. Can those be ground up to equal 1/4 cup and used to make mushroom flavor soup base?
Thanks for another useful tutorial, Mary. I'll have to source some non fat milk powder but we have everything else. Hope you all have gotten some rain down your way. Take care and stay safe, Rob
I had made this with the powdered cream and dried porcini mushrooms blitzed into powder. I used some today for tator tot hot dish and it worked beautifully! Thank you for the recipe..
Mary. Are you familiar Heidi at Rain Country? She used s break bleeder to vacuum seal with. Also I put some sort of paper product on top of my dry powders before I seal them because sometimes the powder gets around the rim of the jar and causes the seal. To break. Thinking of how to make cream of celery.
I just wanted to tell you that I made my own vegetable broth from a bunch of scraps I had around the kitchen and it was great. I used it to season some beans and potatoes from my garden. Thank you for your easy videos.
Just what I need and have been looking for,. Thank you! I just powdered my dried shiitake mushrooms and made chicken pot pies. They turned out wonderful, I won't use those canned cream soups..to much bad stuff in them.
Mary your "Genius"...lol. I have all those things and was wondering what to do with my dried mushrooms. When I rehydrated and used them no one will eat them. This way I can make a cream of mushroom soup and even add leftover chicken or shrimp. It does make a nice concisity. I think I don't have it in me to make my own bouillon 🤪 I'll just find a non gmo kind actually I think I have beef, chicken and onion from Azure. They have vegetable too I just don't have that. Thank you..... take care and God bless you All
I wanted to drop a quick note to let you know how much I enjoy your videos. I have learned so many things watching your channel. Today I noticed a fun thing... you and I have the same Genie Lamp tea pot, though mine is blue. A dear friend gifted me this teapot and I simply adore it. Thanks again for all the useful info! ~Becca
I don't how you stayed so clean and powder free! No matter how careful I was I still ended up covered with powder! Lol! I bought some dried mushrooms, blitzed them in my bullet type blender and added to the powder for mushroom soup base. Thank you for the recipe..

Hi Marie, can you explain how to do this please?
I would think that you would make the base with out the bouillon. Instead of 1 1/2cups of water, add that much milk. Or reconstitute dry milk to the same amount? And put a BUNCH of real butter in it! 😉
Thank you for this good ideas, but I was wondering can you make this recipe Vegan form?
So fantastic! Didn't know it was this easy. Thanks so much Mary, you are a gem!

Thanks Mary! You are a great teacher💜
WOW I had no idea that was so simple to make cream of soup mix, thanks Mary!! you are a treasure!!! cheers from Argentina. Fede
What is a hand brake bleeder method?
@@kenkuschel check out Rain Country Homestead Brake Bleeder uses. Heidi explains it beautifully
Love your Hall teapot I have the same one, plus 40 other styles. I love me some vintage hall teapots!
I'm going to try this for winter because I love cream of chicken soup but it's getting so expensive! Thanks for teaching me everything I need to know.🥰
Thank you....this will be my winter go to for soup plus added frozen veggies from the garden...ty
I love your videos, they’re so calming and relaxing. Oh and educational!
Hi Mary. Thank you for all you do. You educate people on a traditional way of cooking that's very important for health. Thank you for keeping these teachings alive. I was wanting to put a video request in for a liver pate or liver spread recipe. That would be much appreciated if you would be able to do that. Much love
Thank you so much for the kind words and the encouragement! I will definitely add a nice liver pate to the list. I love it! Love, Mary❤️🤗❤️
So happy I found your channel. Can I replace the cornstarch with arrowroot powder? Thank you
I enjoy cream of soup. It comes in handy when the winter arrives.
Your tile is pretty! I’m going to make this I already bought ingredients
I was just making a cream soup for Tator tot casserole as this popped up this way easier going to make some up today!
Wonderful!! So happy it can help out! Love, Mary
@@MarysNest oh I always forget to say it but thank you do much for your videos time and knowledge to share! I love it so much!
Emanda Schulz - Thank you SO much for the kind words!!❤️🤗❤️
@@MarysNest you're welcome :)
I have one more question please.
When you use floursack towels how do you wash them so that laundry soap doesn't come out on cheeses it yogurts.
What a great idea! I will be trying this with small jars for healthy autumn meals during camping and hiking trips. Thank you for another educational video!!
You make learning so enjoyable. Thank you for your kindness.
I love her Voice . Beautiful lady .
Thank you!!❤️🤗❤️

@@barbarastark3754 extremely calming. Adore this lady.

Your soup mix is a godsend for people who must avoid gluten. Thank you.
I wasn’t aware of any of these type of soup mixes. Learning and happy with yojr videos. You explain everything so well. Thank you for all your knowledge 😊👍
Great info. Thanx! 👍
Mary thank you for this recipe. We love you!
Mary, I love how you explain everything and how long it will be good. I love cream soup.
Thanks sweet Mary. Good thing to add to the prepper pantry also
Hi Janie, Yes indeed! Love, Mary
I really appreciate you so very much. Thank you for sharing all your knowledge. I hope you don’t ever stop!
You are such a blessing, Mary. Your channel is here for such a time as this...
Mary, if I left out the dry milk (I'm allergic to dairy), used cashew milk instead of water when making, how much of the mix would I need?
You're just brilliant! Thank you for anticipating my needs.
She sure is, shes a world of knowledge!
Thank you both so much for the kind words!!❤️🤗❤️
Hi Mary can you use this just as a soup to eat for lunch with bread
Thank you I've been wounding how to make homemade cream of soup .
Hello Mary! thank you for all your help💘
Wow Mary ,I love that you have the time stamp on your videos. I watch the full video then go back to get details I may have forgotten later . That time stamp makes it so easy. Going to make some of your Christmas gifts this year for family. Thank you so much!
That was so easy!! Thank you Thank you Thank you
Wonderful idea! I always weigh and prepare the ingredients cakes in advance and bake later. Lovely Mary. Please could you show us how to make vegan cheese. Thank you. 🙏🙏🙏
Love these videos. So well done.
Thank you Mary! I think we can find dried mushrooms at some Asian markets. Can those be ground up to equal 1/4 cup and used to make mushroom flavor soup base?
Thank you for doing and explain to us the mushroom powder version that’s the one I was looking for ☺️
As usual, lovely explanation!
Thank you!!🤗❤️🤗
Oh I love this thank you Mary... So gonna try this
Mary, I am a new subscriber and just wanted to thank you. I have learned so much from you already 😊. God bless you.
Wonderful!! And welcome!! ❤️🤗❤️
Thanks for another useful tutorial, Mary. I'll have to source some non fat milk powder but we have everything else. Hope you all have gotten some rain down your way.
Take care and stay safe,
Rob
Hi Rob, Finally...some rain here!! Yay!! And a cold fronts coming...it will be in the 80s...LOL!!! God bless, Mary 🤗
I made it. It's great
Cool idea Mary. Also you can use the jar ring to open the lid. Thank you for sharing :-)
Great idea!! ❤️🤗❤️
Thank you..... take care and God bless you All
As always, you are amazing! Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for the kind words!!🤗❤️🤗
