    Suggestion: if you don't like seeing the mushroom pieces in the soup, but still want the flavor, dehydrate the mushrooms and make them into a powder then add to the soup. It's the only way I can get my family to eat mushrooms LOL If they can't see the pieces they will eat the dish.

      This video came along just in time. I live in the Pacific Northwest, and I'm an avid wild mushroom hunter. I've brought in close to 100 lb of mushrooms of various types in the last month, most of which are dehydrated. My 3 dehydrators have been working overtime. I love making the mushroom powders because it adds "Umami" and you can put it in anything savory.

      Most bouillon mixes have wheat in them, sometimes
      Called by other names. Have a daughter with wheat allergy, & learned this 35 years ago. Just check first. I think you could make the soup mix without it, then add chicken or other liquid broths at the end when you
      actually make the single or multiple soup servings to eat.

      This is in milk, fresh of powdered:
      Milk contains several proteins, including caseins, whey proteins, and immunoglobulins:
      Casein
      The main protein in milk, accounting for about 80% of the total protein. Casein is a heteroprotein made up of four main components: alpha- (αs1- and αs2-casein), beta-, gamma-, and kappa-casein.
      Whey protein
      Makes up about 20% of milk protein. Whey proteins include alpha-lactalbumin (α-LA), beta-lactoglobulin (β-LG), serum albumin, immunoglobulins (Igs), lactoferrin (LF), lactoperoxidase (LP), and protease-peptones.
      Well done for fear-mongering.

    I'm not a vegetarian but my daughter is, so the chicken bouillon powder is out. I was thinking along the line of vegetable bouillon powder instead ( know you can find it on Amazon), than we both could use it without having to make two jars and then risk getting them mixed up. She could make a creamy vegetable soup with her choice of vegetables and either a vegetable broth or vegan chicken flavored broth. I could make mine with chicken and chicken broth, it would be a nice mix of chicken and vegetable. Thanks for sharing.

    The fat in the milk is actually very beneficial to your health. Believe it or not fat helps you to lose weight in a keto diet. They tell you to eat butter, fat, healthy oils, etc. So nonfat is not as healthy as we all used to think. I just thought I’d share that maybe you’ll wanna switch over to whole milk. Which they do sell by the way, cause I bought it. In my survival pantry in case things get bad. And it lasts for many years.❤

    • @TalesFromAnEmptyNest
      @TalesFromAnEmptyNest  6 дней назад

      Yes, healthy fats can help you lose weight by making you feel fuller. Also, cutting out carbs is a huge part of what makes you lose weight on keto. My nephew had great success using keto. Thanks for the input! I might have to try the whole milk powder in the future! I love the idea of a survival pantry!😁😁

    Using the low fat milk is better for long-term storage. The fat content of the whole milk powder means it has a shorter shelf life. So the choice of low fat vs. whole milk depends on your intended use, and how quickly you plan to use it up.
