- Customer complaint on this Echo CS352 chainsaw is that its low on power. I'll look at some different things that can cause this problem and show you how to remove the carb from this saw. #smallenginerepair
You're channel regarding chainsaws has become one of my favorites. Because of how well you explain everything, keep it up bud. God bless you
Thank you for the kind words!
Send it! Thanks for the video. Looks like i'm gonna have to attempt this whole procedure on my 352. It's not even firing at all and the spark plug is brand new. 🥴
Thanks for watching!
Fun watching You Operate Doc!
Thank You and thanks for watching!
No farting or poping sounds, good call on solving it. Amazing such minor things caused that. Nice little electric screw driver for the carb work. Take care.
I don't think I paid more than $25 for that screwdriver and it has proven to be a decent time saver.
@@TheGreasyShopRag it helps with your wrists too. I’m sure over time a manual could cause damage.
on the echos always check the spark screen for carbon build up first. This model for me . . . I have this one, it is great for brushing . . . and I am always cleaning the screen. I run these a lot . . . and they build up a lot. They are located on the muffler at the front of the machine . . . you only need to remove the two star shaped screws pull the If the screen is clogged, soak it in a chem tool solution or carb cleaner, or burn it off with a propane torch (hold it with plyers or tongs . . . not your fingers lol) . . . or over a stove burner works too. Heat until glowing red, blow through it, repeat until screen is clear . . . just a little build up will choke the power out a LOT. The next most common problem I have is the spark plug wearing out, then the fuel lines and fuel filter.
May I ask what type of 2 cycle oil you use?
@@TheGreasyShopRag Stihl Synthetic (silver bottle), unless I can't get my hands on it, in which case I pick up the echo synthetic. Is there something better I should be using?
I was just curious. Is the Stihl oil FD rated?@@skytale35
@@TheGreasyShopRag Jaso-FB rated . . .not FD . . . okay so I am no expert on the oil, but I have fixed friends equipment too. Is the Red Armor worth the extra money? I heard it has detergents in it and stuff . . . wonder if that deals with the ethanol.
@@skytale35 FD is the current highest rating and I don't recommend anything lower. That oil is most likely the reason you are always cleaning the screen.
Excellent, thanks
Thanks for watching!
I need to rebuild my cs300 carb asap.
Good morning.
Thank you for your work. Where can I find the carburetor lever adjustment shim seen in the video. Thank you Laurent
Google "walbro adjustment tool" and you will find many sources. Thanks for watching!
Nice camera work scott
Thanks Henry. All the zooming is just done during editing.
Mine does the same thing BUT it'll run great for like 2-3 minutes of cutting then it starts to big badly until it will only odle...not throttle at all. I've cleaned carb, tuned carb, changed spark plug, changed carbs, changed fuel filter, changed tank vent...still does same thing
Hmmm, possibly a fuel hose that is collapsing or maybe an impulse hose/gasket issue. Maybe the coil fails as it gets hot. If you haven't looked lately, put an eyeball on the condition of the piston and cylinder.
@@TheGreasyShopRag I'll give it a peek a boo tomorrow
I checked out the inspection light you gave me info on and I think I’ll get that make with a shorter extension so it’s easier for me to aim it down a hole.
Now, Scott, would you give me the info on the black cordless screwdriver? Thanks!
I don't see it on Amazon anymore and I don't see a similar model.
Good morning. I have a Walbro WT 991 carburetor on my CS-352-ES. Can you tell me the factory settings for the L and H screws?
THANKS. Laurent
How about when you press the primer bulb and it collapses and takes like 6 seconds to expand. I noticed air cleaner loose
That happens when there is a restriction of fuel flow through the carb. Could be the filter in tank, kinked/pinched fuel hose, or a plugged up micro screen in the carb.
Hi. What are you spraying on each side of the cylinder cooler and why?
THANKS. Laurent
I'm using carb cleaner to determine if there is an air leak around the base gasket or possibly crank seal. If the engine changed speed while I was spraying then I would know there is a leak allowing the carb spray in. Leaks are bad in 2 cycle engines.
would it be cheaper for me to just put on new carb, instead of tearing down the old one and rebuilding plus labor??
If you are doing it for yourself then you have to decide what your time is worth. Yes its usually cheaper if you buy an aftermarket carb and many people have had success doing that. Some OEM carbs can be expensive but you know they'll work the first time.
Is that saw missing a “bottom/side” cover on the clutch side…? I’m missing one on the same saw…
No I don't think its missing anything.
Wisconsin or Minnesota?
