- Audio - Survivor live at Wheeling Civic Centre (22 November 1982). Taken from the Going The Distance Tour which begun early Spring of that year. Peterik is cited to say the tour lasted 13 months precipitated by the global success of the Eye of the Tiger song, having scored number one for 6 consecutive weeks in the US Billboard charts, topping the UK charts for 4 consecutive weeks and number one in over 24 countries. Eye of the Tiger still largely remains popular and loved thanks to the successful Rocky 3 movie plus other TV shows and most notably, the excellent song writing partnership ; Peterik and Sullivan amid the phenomenal tenor vocals from Dave Bickler.
Survivor was on tour with REO Speedwagon, where both bands played at the Wheeling Civic Centre on 22/11/82. The centre opened on 19 April 1977, with Doobie Brothers playing a concert that day. The centre was renamed WesBanco Arena from 2003 as a result of WesBanco (Wheeling based holding company) acquiring the naming rights.

Dave Bickler and Jimi Jameson helped keep that band together with their hits.
The amount of effort taken to make this video is just superb. Dave Bickler is one of the greatest singers I have ever heard. Always loved his singing voice. Simply amazing.
Thank you for your generous comment. Dave Bickler and Steve Perry are amongst my top favourite male singers. 👌
@@WildIronLizzy I would include Freddie Mercury and Brian Johnson (or Bon Scott) as well
If we're talking rock music, John Fogerty back in his heyday.
Dave and his fantastic vocals skills. Awesome.
this song is one of the hardest sing
Holy Moly it's actually live audio. The slight out of tempo, missing lyrics here and there. And the killing high notes. He was indeed in his prime. And nothing beats live performance.
They're actually playing this in a HIGHER key than the original recording. Bickler is definitely struggling to sing it in this higher key, he's consistently flat.
@@billpeet1976the recording is sharpi believe
I live very close to where this concert was held.....I never knew they’d been there.
This is AWESOME! Thank you for posting this!
This seem to be the only live audio version from 1982 on RUclips. Wish there was an actual video of the concert. Thank you for making this unofficial video and how you synced the vocals ❤ The singer's soulful melodic tone is stunning! 🎶🎙Oh, he just happens to be tremendously handsome at the same time. 😍
My pleasure Fatima 👍😊
Breath control ✨✨✨
Wow, not seen this. Thank you so much! This is a much better audio quality than another I heard on youtube. Loving the long Frankie solo too. Also, the Dave footage, especially the close up of his angel face is most welcomed :)
Awesome 'unofficial' video. Like the Rocky 3 montage 👌 Good audio quality. Thanks for these great uploads of Dave. 😊👍
My pleasure Jakey 😊
Awesome this version 😍 I can't stop listening.
Wow!!! This so awesome what a great job this is pretty incredible!
verdaderos ARTISTAS en vivo. Donde se les ve lo que valen.
Singers like David Bickler are a rare breed. Easily he can take on RnB songs, funk beat music as well as hard rock. Frankie Sullivan striked gold with this type of artist. Unfortunately, frankie didn't appreciate Dave's worth as a phenomenal singer. Sheer madness
Well said Zarina! 👏
Hardly anyone can sing this song well consistently. It wrecks vocal cords. Dave Bickler owned it. Jimi Jamison did a good job with it, but never quite matched then original. That's no diss on Jimi - he was a great singer, and probably more versatile than Dave (and definitely a better frontman)... but this song is Dave Bicklers.
WOW GREAT VOICE ❤️
Super original
Canta demais...eterno ícone da minha vida.
🎶🎵🎸🎤💯👍👍👍
Loved the drummers hair back then.
Great job making this! Much respect!
So handsome
Wow, they played this song in a very high key. IMO, maybe a bit too high.
I believe the recording is sped up slightly
Não entendi o motivo que eles estão tocando meio tom acima da versão do estúdio, já que o vocalista provavelmente já sofria de problemas na garganta nessa época
It may be controversial to say it but if this was the best Bickler could do live, Jimi gets it by a mile
Where did you get this!? I've looked for Bickler live back then for about a decade now! Thank you!
please compile his original song ever since the world began .thanks
Do you have the studio one performance from 1980
Do you have the audio from the rest of this show please?
There is a RUclips channel that has uploaded the whole Wheeling show.
@エムエスジェイを潰すアンマンパン yes you are right.
Not near to the original, I thought I would be amazed by his live voice but... no
Edited videos from different concerts..WTF
Man was out of tune and he was struggling big time in the chorus i know that most people not musicians but cmon
That's true, but interesting to note that they are playing the song in a HIGHER key than the original recording (which was already in a very high key). Very unusual for a live performance. He's really struggling (and failing) to hit the notes here. Probably why he developed vocal damage shortly thereafter.
I guess
I loved it though 😁
@@billpeet1976 No that's the same key than in the original recording : A ''C''.
@@newjersey3992 No, the original is in C, this version is in D-flat. A half-step higher.
@@billpeet1976 My application showed me a C for the highest note on this version too?
Luis Miguel y sus ingenieros de sonido no tienen que hacer nada aca.
