Absolutely killer, wow I can watch over and over, still today I’m at almost 50 yrs old this song is in my top three, brings tears, smiles, happiness and memories, a simple song powerful in more ways than one.
I partially disagree. Jimi Jamison was on Lead Vocals for a number of the bands hits. But so was Dave Bickler. Who was on Lead Vocals(1976-1983) for, the recording of 'Eye Of The Tiger'.
I grew up on this song, this song was my motivation to keep going on in life and gave me a boost of energy every time I thought about it and gave me the strength to get back up. It taught me to never give up and fight till my last breath for my goals :D
Super Doge Agreed. Used to listen to the song on my headphones and my Sony Walkman before I went to bed every night. 35 years later I am still not giving up the fight and now I'm very successful but not for the fact of being successful but being driven by a song like this.
People have to keep in mind that this song was written for Dave Bickler, a tenor voice. Jimi is a baritone but has to come in and sing this song right away! That takes serious balls and he delivers it perfectly nonetheless🔥 Absolute talent. RIP
@@bwisnieski1335 Higher range does NOT equal higher voice. Jimi had greater range because he was able to reach deeper notes than Bickler and then use his falsetto to reach notes that Bickler would usually sing with his higher chest voice. Jimi was a baritone, hence the greater depth and thickness to his voice compared to Bickler 👌
This sing is i realy like, because when i was a tired then i hear this song my tired feeling was go away and enjoy myself in this song.....and i like SURVIVOR BAND.....
Risin' up, back on the street Did my time, took my chances Went the distance, now I'm back on my feet Just a man and his will to survive So many times, it happens too fast You trade your passion for glory Don't lose your grip on the dreams of the past You must fight just to keep them alive It's the eye of the tiger, it's the thrill of the fight Risin' up to the challenge of our rival And the last known survivor stalks his prey in the night And he's watchin' us all with the eye of the tiger Face to face, out in the heat Hangin' tough, stayin' hungry They stack the odds 'till we take to the street For the kill with the skill to survive It's the eye of the tiger, it's the dream of the fight Risin' up to the challenge of our rival And the last known survivor stalks his prey in the night And he's watchin' us all with the eye of the tiger Risin' up, straight to the top Had the guts, got the glory Went the distance, now I'm not gonna stop Just a man and his will to survive It's the eye of the tiger, it's the dream of the fight Risin' up to the challenge of our rival And the last known survivor stalks his prey in the night And he's watchin' us all with the eye of the tiger The eye of the tiger The eye of the tiger The eye of the tiger The eye of the tiger

This is the best rendition of the song I have heard. Like you wanna see the best rendition of any heavy metal song just listen to its live version its just bombastic.
Give him a break. Survivor was constantly touring and probably playing a show every single night. Jimi Jamison had the BEST voice ever. This is a hard song to sing. It's the last song at the concert. He's human after all. He can sing better than anyone on a bad day. Besides with his beauty, charisma, stage presence, who cares if he messes up once in awhile. HE WAS SIMPLY THE BEST💔💔💔
@DB Graves That performance in the link you’ve sent here is from September 1985 in Tokyo ☺️ JIMI was Amazing and gave his All to every Song. He was one in a Million. The Beautiful GOLDENVOICE.
I seen them in concert at the Los Angeles Forum around 1983 with Dave Bickler the original singer from 1977-83. It's very hard to describe the 1980's but it was by far the most fun time to come of age in the last 100 years.
one thing I like about these days is the bands like this one don't look like they're trying to be all cool and think they're better then everyone. There here to make music and have a good time which I love!
True. I couldn't agree more. 1960s too, 1960s to late 1980s and then you gotta give creds to some of the "last gasp" as I call them bands like Bad English, Alias. Alien. "More Than Words Can Say" Is one of the most beautiful ever. I agree 100% with you. Survivor are a really great band- love them forever
No1 classic hit song back 1980s. I listen American top 40 countdown one greatest hit song today. One greatest hit band from 1980s They Rock house down. Two thumbs up.
"Eye of the Tiger" is one of the best songs, of all time...This song motivates like few other songs can and makes me feel like nothing is impossible...It was the perfect movie song, too, in all the Rocky movies.
When it comes to 80s style melodic hard rock... I think there is Survivor, and then there's everyone else. With the song structures and vocal talents, they were head and shoulders above everyone else.
Reminds me of the 80’s the cool classic guitars , “eye of the tiger” brilliant poetry the chemistry is amazing , it’s very hard to throw lyrics out there , a whole new album would be nice
Ritchie Blackmore (Deep Purple/Rainbow): "I had seen Jimi in Survivor and was very impressed. I remember going down to Tennessee to meet him and I really liked him as a person. He then came up to try out with Deep Purple. We did one song, I think it was 'Going Down' and he was so good I immediately stopped playing and just said, 'You're in!' He said, 'Don't you want to do more songs?' I said, 'No, you are so damn good, I know that you are perfect for the job.' We went out and celebrated at a restaurant. I was full of ideas due to his melodic, soulful voice, and he could improvise much better than a lot of singers I knew so he had every aspect I was looking for in a singer. Very, very nice guy. Very humble. Unfortunately, two weeks later, we were told he couldn't join the band. We never found out why. I think it had something to do with the management. I was surprised and saddened by what happened, and it was a mystery to me what had gone down. It was a bad moment for me. I rated him as one of the top singers in the country."
Real Man of Genius, we salute you, Mr. Survivor Lead Vocaist ("Meeeeeeee!"). You managed to turn one song from a Rocky sequel into an immortal 80s icon like Packman ("I'm just like Pac Mannnnnnn!"). Even with shoulder pads and Members Only jackets out of fashion, you have a life-time gig with Budweiser. So here's to you, Dave Bickler.
Oh my word I'm 13 and I LOVE 80's music!!! I cant describe the feeling when i sing along to this stuff! :D I cant stand the autotune "pop" music they play on the radio. It makes me sick! All these autotuned teen girls whining about their recent breakup. Who cares!? Id rather listen to real music!!!
You have to admit that Jimi does a really good job singing Dave’s song. I doubt it was easy for him. And listen to that solo! I wish the original had one like that.

This song is easy to sing..
@@AtlanticSiren Lets hear it xD

The song is all above the 4th octave, I believe. Very hard for male singers.

THE PERFECT SET! NEVER MORE WE CAN SEE THEM PLAYING TOGETHER LIKE THIS TIME.... GOOD TIMES OF THE TRUE ROCK AND ROLL.
I really, really wish that I could have seen the man perform live when he was a live. That would have truly been an amazing sight.
Jimi Jamison passed.
The reality said he is gone a few years ago! Or do you think he is with Jim Morrison and Michael Jackson on some lonely isel? :D
I saw this still live, 24 years ago, with Leadsänger Dave Bickler
Same!
