Never seen someone rocking an acoustic guitar like this. And such power in his voice at this age! Yep, an underrated legend, that he is.
Pure Phenomenal
Legend?
@@jetguy7indeed he is !!! I guess you love bruno mars or ed shereen instead?
He is amazing
Genius, you made so many people thrive in life!!!!
thnk u man, i fight artritis, epilepcy & bipolarity, all with no cure but tis song revives me, makes me fight.
This song will never die!
This Song IS my live
This song inspires . that's the art
I had the chance to meet and talk with Jim and he signed a CD for me. Super Cool. The place rocked every time The Ides of March played The Acorn. This was when he hosted was the annual singer-songwriter competition. We bonded over being Chicagoland kids. I told him his music brought a lot of Joy to our lives.
This rocker belongs in the rock and roll hall of fame, he definitely marks all the boxes
He's a very positive, likable guy he seems like somebody you might know.
Jim is one of the greatest songwriters ever
I hurt myself today
Ezt nem ő írta, ez feldolgozás! Ez egy régi dal!
@@editroczei3902didn’t write what?? Eye of the tiger? Yes he did! He wrote it with Frankie Sullivan specifically for Rocky 3.
@@editroczei3902He most absolutely did write the song. Jim and Frankie Sullivan wrote this and the title came from a line in the Rocky III movie.
Tell you what ----- I saw this legend for the first time in my life. I didn't know who he is before a few minutes ago.... and now? I love him very much!
This dude is THE MAN. Grettings from México.
from Tiktok and here I AM, amazing hit and such great memories
Before my knees and back gave out I was an avid runner. I always set my playlist to listen to this song right as I was finishing the race.
This is so great....Great singer, great guitarist....Saw ''The Ides of March'' some years ago at Mohegan Sun in Connecticut....One of the best shows I ever saw there.......................Ralph Onofrio
The Great Jim Peterik!!!!
This man shaped me ..thank God for Jim Peterik and all those amazing Survivor Albums..i feel so blessed to be that old to have been there on release day..to listen to all those amazing bands.. Premonition is amazing..=)
This song, man..... I have so many 5:30am workout in the dark memories attached with this. (sighs)
One of the best motivating songs!
SO MUCH IN LOVE WITH THIS SONG. IT IS LITERALLY A BOUNCH OF POWER
Jim your a class act in the best way. Tell us all your stories. You are our vehicle
Didn't know this guy but I think thats a good time to say it. Mr Jim thanks for being around
Heard this story thru one of my childhood friends who's sister was friends with one of the members of Survivor. Very cool to hear him tell it.
I appreciate when their voice opens up and doesn’t close. Great job keeping the spirit alive Jim and everyother vocalist out there.
Wonderful, wonderful and wonderful million times!.
I saw him years ago in a concert called "Chicago Gold" which included a reunion of The Ides Of March. After their set, he sat at a piano onstage and played all of the songs that he had written over the years and I was amazed at how many he had written that were hits for other groups. In my opinion it was the highlight of that show.
Jim is an absolute monster of a songwriter, isn't he?! And just an INCREDIBLY nice man. I love doing sound for him when I get the chance and I'm so glad I hit record on this one!

Great song! Thx, Jimi!
Amazing performance! Thank you and congrats.
I’m a new fan. This guy is great, sure I was a survivor fan but never really knew the history,
Excellent and the Best Rocky's Song in My Mind!!
What a man :)
Incredibly amazing man
Eversince survivor is the best band of my life
Very impressed with the talent of this man! Love this song and the song 'Vehicle' as well!
Jim Peterick rocks!
Thank you for posting this great video. What a joy to hear Jim talk about his legendary song, playing it on an acoustic which is rare to hear this song played on. He seems like a cool down to earth guy.
Unbelievable, what a performer and incredible guitar playing skills
Wow! It's awesome!
MAGNIFICENT!!!!!
GOD Bless You 🎸🎸🎸
This man is a beast on the acoustic
The irony is, in the band he was the Keyboard player.
He’s a Tiger
Great performance, this guy has the hang of it.
I actually thought that this song was created for the movie. Amazing how this song fits the movie so well where i guy had independantly wrote it. This IS the 80's for sure.
Man that guitar tone! It’s in his hands!
ruclips.net/channel/UCyYjjjElHsKMxSZWaUrJB_gabout esse é top demais.

@@TheAcorn what are the chords????
Forever
Could this be anthem of the Covid19 generation? An appropriate performance to share at this time!
Great sound, great video and great story of how this song evolved.
Thank you Jim Peterik, The Acorn and video/audio recorder and creator Evan Margol for sharing this with us all!
It may indeed be. Thanks for the comments!
-Evan
Stop with your Covid bullshit please.
Every time I hear this song I crank the volume
An uplifting tune ❤😊
Met Jim in 2000 at a gig lovely fellow!
Very cool, the audience nailed it. God bless all.
Do you know what chords hé using?
JustinGuitar did a good electric split screen rendition with “C Guy” who just played the droning C throughout the song and the “Fun Guy” who plays all the riffs; but I’d love to get a tab of this acoustic version.
what a fukin legend!
if he did only VEHICLE, THAT alone makes him legend
great!!!!! sounds good bro!!
Amazing ❤
He wrote some fabulous tunes. Put 38 special on the map.
it is amazing story and song!
The best 🎩🌹
The opening bars of this song were the signature tune of weekly Sports Roundup I anchored for All India Radio in the early 1990s! Awesome. The song has plenty of punch.
unpluged the original taste so good!!!!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Awesome!
Maestro
je kiff merci pour cette belle chanson
Боюсь не успеть годы проходят 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I'd be interested to know if the title lyric was inspired by Apollo Creed's use of the 'eye of the tiger' metaphor to Rocky in the film, or if that was put into the script after the song was offered for the film.
Jim Peterik second Survivor original guitar player 1960-2000
His hair gives him the power, a titanium mullet.
Awesome cover

@@deedeeramone8641 Hey there. In answer to your question: yes and no. Yes, as it still exists as Frankie Sullivan's evidently ego-driven third-class cover band . And NO - as this version has absolutely nothing in common with the band we used to know and only destroys the legacy!
@@andreaspetropoulos6390 okay thanks bro, i think survivor already disband and that i know it only frankie sullivan now in the survivor from the original survivor's personil🙏
Yes, sir!
Perfeitooo!
SUPER Jimi
Jim Peterick is a good song writer and you never see him play guitar 🎸
Only in Survivor. He played guitar on the first Survivor album. After that.... keyboards. In the Ides of March, Pride of Lions, World Stage, various side projects (like Dennis DeYoung's solo album) you see him play guitar a lot.
Wow...
"Good luck is when preparation meets opportunity"...
Total 🤘🤘
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
great🤩🤩
😍😍😍
Jim is of the greatest under appreciated musicians. But then again Illinois is highly over look when it comes to music in General.
Starting with the Chicago Blues to bands like The Buckinghams, Ides Of March, Styx, Chicago Transit Authority (aka Chicago), Cheap Trick, Survivor, Ministry, Reo Speedwagon, Smashing Pumpkin’s, Urge Overkill, and more.
I sing this at work
wow
Esta versión es autentica
I'll celebrate the 40 year anniversary of this song by making my own interpretation of the song with my own lyrics.
He had that edge
Im trying to learn this song
