I'm only here for Jake.
doesn't hurt to see carmine though aye?
Aren't we all! Amazing
Not even a bit of randy
Gets lost in the hash of this recording
Jake E. Lee is one of the most underrated guitarists in heavy metal history. It would've been nice to see him with Ozzy for at least a few more albums.
Ultimate Sin. Jake Lee. Period.
@@michaelehrhart9670 yep. People say Ozzy got blown off stage by Metallica back then, and that might be true. But it wasn’t because ultimate sin was bad. Besides the mixing and the fact the lead singer and main figure of the ‘Ozzy’ show at that time was fresh out of the Betty Ford clinic, after missing the writing for the album because he was still in the clinic, and just was overall a mess, the album was amazing. I believe Daisley’s and Jake’s part of the album (everything except ‘shot in the dark’) aged a lot better than ‘shot in the dark’, and that’s not coincidence. They got blown off the stage because Master of puppets was/is something divine. There was NO competing with that.
Yeah Sharon fired him because he refused to lick her big busted fanny
Agreed - And we can "thank" Sharon for that. Jake apparently still gets no royalties from the tracks he contributed to on that album. Disgraceful.
@@SeaOfMadness He wrote every song, they just fucked him.
You can't say anything bad about Jake E Lee.
Damn straight. Was one of the fastest, a total badass.
@HB C well said HB, I see it in the same light between Jake and Zack. The time I grew up listening to Ozzy.
@HB C well said. Jake was a monster player and wrote some insane rythm and lead licks. Perfect replacement
I could...but I'd be wrong.
JEL rules 🤘🏻
Nice to hear Ozzy without a pinch harmonic every 3 seconds.
yup
hahahaha! man thats damn funny. still dig zakk wylde
Holy cow, how right you are.
Seniomsed Jimmy I hate Wylde.
Jake is definitely bad ass and plays randy stuff more accurately than Zakk. Too bad he didn’t stay longer
Jake is so underrated, his technique n phrasing is outstanding. Those finger stretches at speed are lethal
Ozzy. One of Jake E. Lee's best vocalists ever...
You win and I agree.
BEST COMMENT EVER !!
hahahahaha bastard!
🤘🏻
dude, have you heard Ray Gillan? He smokes Ozzy in my opinion.
I was brought up on Randy, love Zakk, but man.... Jake deserves sooo much more credit than he ever got. A true guitar giant!
Jake E Lee is Amazing Guitarist. Love is Phrasing, Soul , and Feeling in His Playing. You can feel it. No one’s play Ozzy better. He’s best for Ozzy. Long live Jakes!!!!
Watching jake e lee live is like watching the parting of the red sea.
Jake e Lee doesn't need to use pinch harmonics every four seconds in every song!! He's too talented for that.
Some of us like ZAKKS style too. I like all of them even Joe Holmes who rarely gets talked about but was with Ozzy longer than Jake. Just didn't write any music we know of
Jake E Lee used them quite a lot.
@@Jay-we2ek Yeah but usually he incorporated them into the songs a lot better like on ‘bark’. But I don’t think he ever relied on them.
Ozzy is flat out bringing it!!!! What great pitch!
Jake is the best period.
Jake does every Randy solo perfectly!! Jake is the man!!
Randy was a "By the book" player , those types of guitarists are very easy to figure out and copy .
I love this tribute to two people who made Ozzy great: Bob Daisley and Jake'e'Lee.
don’t forget kerslake and rhoads
Randy, Bob, Jake and Lee.
I Agree, bcuz the blank of darkness couldn't stand up to his wife and say honestly I think Jake is the future, Ozzy Osbourne's future is no more, sometimes we must all stand up for what is RIGHT. JAKE JUST KNOW THAT I HAVE A SPECIAL LITTLE SOMEONE WHO IS 4 YEARS OLD WHO I NAMED ERIC JAKE . ERIC IS HIS GRANDDAD WHO WAS A GREAT RHYTHM GUITAR PLAYER AND JAKE, WHO I BELIEVE WAS THE MOST CHARASMATIC LEAD GUITARIST OF THE 1980S. ROCK ON, JAKE,2022
@@georgeroberts7462 nice but i wouldnt do that. i have the ULTIMATE SIN album on cd got it in the era.
And Don Airey on the keys. He's also pretty darn great. Rockin' with Deep Purple now. He has played alongside some of the greats over the years. Ritchie Blackmore, Michael Schenker, Tony Iommi. ✌️
Jake E. Lee - Hands down the best ozzy´s axeman ever, and one of the most underrated of the 80´s
Well I personally think Randy Rhoads was Ozzy's best guitarist and one of the best of all time. I would say that Jake E Lee had a more riff based style. Where randy was very lead heavy. But love em both :)
Why, because he can play all the unbelievable riffs that Randy wrote? I'm a huge fan of Jake and agree with the second part of your comment, but the first part is just inane.
tubo777 are you joking right, Randy Rhoads was not only the best guitar player that Ozzy Ever had but one of the world top guitarist
fool
Randy was obviously his best and one of the greatest ever, but Jake is definitely one of the most underrated guitarists of all time. His solo piece from 1984 still blows me away.
The outro on Bark at the Moon is far and away one of my favorites of all time. Watching Jake up close playing it.....unreal. So awesome. Total badassery there.
Totally agree man🤘
I had a brief tryst with metal in the 80s, punk was more my thing, but damn, Bark at the Moon is still one of those songs that just bludgeons me with awesomeness every single time. The guitar at the beginning of the song is just about one of the most bad-ass ever. The solo is fantastic and bassline playing as the solo progresses just kills and to then revert to the riff of the start of the song to come out of the solo? Insane. And the outro guitar? daym...it's as if an algorithm of awesomeness came up with the song...
💯 Seen that tour Jake was fucking incredible and in my opinion very underrated.
Jake was a life saving breath of air for Ozzy Osbourne. Supremely talented guitarist.
Wow carmine appice and bob daisley what a powerhouse line up this was ,didnt know they played together on stage for ozzy
I’ve never seen footage of them live until I just saw this now. They sound great together. This lineup didn’t last very long, which is too bad.
I know right. How could anyone else fit on stage with Carmine’s head so big. Egomaniac. Carmines the best…. just ask him. He taught Moses how to part water; he suckled John Bonham; and taught Buddy Rich to play with two sticks; all after he invented electricity and walked on the moon….
Jake E Lee. No words to say how good and amazing he is. There is no one like him.
The way jake voices his chords is absolut mastery. So difficult to play, so easy to listen.
Jake'e'Lee was the only guitarist really screwed by the Osbourne's machinery, that's enough for me to make him great more than the other ones. I like all Ozzy's guitar players, but Jake means something more to me.
Yep. Sharon really skewered him; he had to give up songwriting credits, and therefore a decent living.
Yeah... he got some bad luck with Ray Gillen's death too, since Badlands had all the numbers to stand high and by his own in the Led Zeppelin revival era (since they have never been simple and childish LZ clones). I always saw Jake as a shy guy, head high, no matter what.
I absolutely agree...George Lynch kinda got screwed as well by him just not as badly. Jake is my all-time favorite axe-man!!!🤘☢🤘
He should have kicked her in the cant ripping him off and making out ozzy wrote all the music and lyrics.
WOW!!!
Jake is already my favorite Ozzy guitarist but damn! He's on fire here!
I met Carmine Appice, just after he left Ozzy, he did a drum clinic in my hometown in about 1985. He was in King Kobra at the time. He had a big cherry red, double bass drum kit. He is a “killer drummer” and he has a great voice too. When he played without the PA system, you could feel the floor pumping with his heavy feet. Very nice guy, I couldn’t believe I was talking to the drummer of “Vanilla Fudge” - “Keep me hangin on”.
So what makes Jake so great?
You can listen to him play from start to end and be entertained all the way. Never a dull moment. Arguably, the best!
I love Jake! I absolutely love his style, no dive bombs, just amazing skill. Plus the way he moves onstage, completely captivating.
He desperately needed to add dive bombs , would have been much more interesting .
@@2216sammy by the time Jake was in Ozzy, dive bombs were way over used, especially in glam metal. Jake was a cut above the rest. He didn’t need to rely on hack guitar tricks, he was that good. Also during that time every guitar player was so heavily influenced by EVH, it took someone really special to stand out from the rest.
@@guitardoug12 Newsflash , Jake was influenced by Eddie also but I agree he had his own style which is a good thing .
@@2216sammy well, at least we agree on something. Not that my opinion means anything. I just love Jake. Thank you so much for the feedback! Have a good one!
Center of Eternity... the entire BATM album served as incredible guitar school for me.
Jack Lou Williams...AKA the GREAT Jake E Lee...by far Ozzys BEST GUITAR PLAYER ......hands down....for sure the MOST musical.....and I LOVE Randy.....I do...but Jake was just SOOO Talented it was crazy..
I mean Jake was great but as far as best guitar players for Ozzy it is definitely Randy Rhoads without a doubt..jake would even say that himself and even knew how amazing Randy was. Randy was in another world compared to the rest of Ozzys other guitar players
I love and respect and miss the shit out of Randy, i really do... But keep on dreaming he was an other-worldly player, Jake s playing s from another planet, you're just a Randy s orphan as we all are, but too proud to say that Oz s best axeman s Jake, not Randy, and i feel you, but PHUCK u, Jake s got, objectively, the soul, the chops and the creativity granting him the upper hand. Only thing Randy s got on Jake, while with Ozzy, is his melodical crafting to compositions, but on solos and technique, Jake s waaaayyyyy ahead by his own right. Now, Randy s playing, had he stayed with us, would be, i bet, clearer and more melodically oriented, he picked up neoclassical heavy rock from what Blackmore left, and he d be an american perfect timing to save yourself era Michael Schenker before Schenker arriving to his McAuley Schenker Group days. Randy s style and playing was as formidable as it gets, but Jake was THE shredder humbler, bigtime. The most original and formidable axeman, in this style back then, period.
My favourite guitarist of all time and was lucky enough to meet him in 2014 when he came to the UK with Red Dragon Cartel , he also signed my guitar
Bob Daisley, Jake and Carmine all the way!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jake e Lee is incredible here.
I’m sorry but jake is way better than zakk wylde
dont be sorry lol
anyone qualified to make the judgment knows its really not close.Other than Randy was the best artist genius to come out of that metal era in the 80"90.Randy was the greatest after dethroning eddie,he started a complete new Rock guitar revolution.lot of greats,But Rhodes is 1 by a Large margin and Jake is acctulayy a considerably better player techically;y and live. But Rhodes wrote the most ground breaking stuff out of absoliutly no where .Bizzard and Diary to this day cannot be touched as far as pure magic. And jake came close because hes awesomne.!
@@jamesfrost1255 well said
for sure
Absolutely, even the solos he plays using real chords not just fingers flying all over the fretboard, my favorite by far! Much respect for Randy and Zakk!
Jake a. Lee the best guitar in the world
Got to see both the Bark at the Moon tour and The Ultimate Sin tour. Jake E. Lee was absolutely awesome both shows I saw him. Hats off to one of the best.🎸
For all of you that praised Jake, I tell you using Ozzy`s words: I love you aaallll! I agree!
Wow! JAKE E LEE IS THE BUSINESS - THE REAL DEAL. Bark at the moon two solos so awesome and crystal clear. I did not know about this guitarist. What planet have I been on? A very great musician indeed and super stylish player, highly entertaining. Humble Ozzy is a magnet for the most elite guitarists. Now I can't pick a favorite between RR Dime and JEL
Ozzy is the man and always will be. I've been a fan since the beginning. He always puts together the best talent.
But after watching this I feel like I just watched the Jake E Lee show with special guest Ozzy Osbourne.
Probably part of the reason jake got the boot
Jake E Lee is the player i always think of when it comes to ozzys backing band members.
Carmine is a beast behind the kit
Loved how he played the songs
It’s weird seeing him behind the kit when I’m so used to seeing him in the black leather up front in Village People.
This was Ozzy best line up EVER.. Jake is so ridiculously talented.
Carmine sucks.
Bro Tommy kills Carmine. Randy (love Jake) was the better sound. Jake was and is amazing but Randy was better composed and wasn’t nearly as sloppy live. While Jake was a little bit faster, Randy had the best tone (neck bends, and scales) Randy to me was a far better writer and more technical. Daisly was a great song writer but Sarzo had better licks and chops.
Rudy, Tommy and Randy were the better line up. Each other's playing complimented the other. Not saying Jake and that suck .
@@jewf01 I agree 💯😊👍😁.
Bob is the O.G. he was just as instrumental as Randy in writing songs for blizzard and diary. Not to mention Bark at the moon
Jake E Lee was the dogs bollocks 🙌🏻
MR.JAKE E LEE!! His playing is simply astounding!! Here for Jake E Lee!!🤘☢🤘
Jake e lee the best metal Guitar of the universe
When I first heard Crazy Train, I knew that's what I wanted to do. Mr. Rhoads inspired me to play the guitar. He was the best at writing compositional music, being classically trained. That being said, Ozzy's music had more energy with Jake than any of his other guitarists, because of Jake's unique techniques. And both are masters of their craft. I will listen to Jake's era if I want a blast of energy, and Randy's for some brilliant musical compositions. Some days I prefer Jake over Randy, and I hate to admit it, but it is more enjoyable for me to listen to.
Jake is still the man in RDC but Jesus he was on another level back then. Just straight 🔥
Jake has always been a favorite. The outro to bark at the moon is badass. Awesome concert 👍
back then… this concert was the reason why changed from bass to guitar… jake in his prime was second to none.
J.E.Lee is absolutely one extraordinary gifted and talented guitarist in the world (and also underrated)
Jake at top of his game
I was there in Dortmund
Brutal Lineup
💀🤛✌️🤩❤️
Absolute MONSTER bass playing...Bob F’n Daisley!!
Bows to Jake. Jesus he was good.
indeed...he was the best...he was it is
Still is. :)
He still alive man lol
BATM is my favourite Ozzy album.
Especially love Centre of Eternity and Spiders.
Jake E Lee has awesome stage presence!
Jake's on fire!!
Ozzy and Jake hammersmith odeon ultimate sin tour, I think the best live performance I've ever seen.
Bark at the moon!!!!!
What a fucking talented musicians had ozzy , he was privileged with them specially with Jake , awesome.
Jake will always rule
Hey, don't scroll down! There are some idiots arguing about who the best guitarist is instead of appreciating them and enjoying the beautiful music they each created!
Very very cohesive line-up! Jake is phenomenal !!! Outworldly!
The one, the only, greatest ever Jake!! The greatest in my book!!
Jake was the only one that continued the Randy style and I can even say that he was and is the best rock metal player today, his technique and phrasing is unique, no one like Jake 👍😁
Never saw this before. It's great, and Jake is a monster, as always.
Love this version of Ozzy's band. Thanks!!!!
Saw ozzy n jake live 86... Jake was perfect at the time...nobody's ever going to replace randy.... but Jake did the album justice..I fucking enjoyed . God bless the 80s..hahaha.
Bark At The Moon's riff is the killest riff ever written and performed by the band Ozzy Osbourne.
Jake is one of if not the slickest player ever. Hes so fluid and natural.
What a band! What a performance!
Jake was simply awesome. Shame on anyone who stole from Jake the credits and the royalties he deserved.
Not only does Jake bring it on every song and every show but what a role to step into… he followed Randy and did a phenomenal job not disrespecting Randy in his original created leads and then raising the bar with his own style and spectacular guitar playing! He’s class and a virtuoso
That first solo of mr crowley....what a solo!!! Was short but shows how great jake is...salute
Crowly and Crazt train solo's are very very simple solo's . They are just a constant repeated pattern , those are two of the first solo's my guitar teacher showed me.
Great Lineup ... Jake E Lee is Totally Awesome 👍🎸🥁🤘💯
How awesome is Jake! I saw him on this tour and the Ultimate Sin! Fabulous player! :-)
Jake E. Lee 🎸🔥
Jake E Lee. Was the main attraction- The Best on Stage. He is a Brilliant gifted guitarist whom Sadly taken advantage during his young career by Ozzy and Sharon during Bark at the Moon Tour.
Sharon was the Greedy Brains in wrongfully treating Jake to No Royalties or Song writes.
Meanwhile it was Jake and the Great Bob Daisley who are the true talent in Making Ozzy famous and Rich. Shame on Sharon and Ozzy!!!
Yeah the same way she didn’t wanna pay Bill Ward to drum on the farewell tour Sharon screwed him over big time and all of us fans payed the price
Jake is a badass
Go Bob Daisly and Carmine Appice!!
ONe of the best Ozzy band's lineup!!!
Good to see Bob Daisley here, the man every bit as responsible for Ozzy's solo success as Sharon. He just got none of the money.
Ladd Everitt he created most of the song on earlier ozzy albums
Fernando Porras Didn’t he also write most of the lyrics? I think he did but I’m OK with being wrong on that.
@@MisterTee Yes, like Geezer before him, Bob wrote the words Ozzy sung.
I disagree! Jake and Randy wrote the music. Bob wrote some of the music, but there's no way he came up with riffs like Bark At The Moon,or Crazy Train. Bob also tried to manipulate Ozzy into getting rid of Jake,so he could be the sole songwriter.
Brian Osbment Not true, that was the bass player after Bob that wrote shot in the dark. Phil soussan
Jake is awesome . very much underrated guitarist. Incredible technique and this bluesy feeling. Rory Gallagher and Malmsteen in one man. Despite of this, Zakk Wylde was not able to play this stuff, but got an new style to the music of the band, which entered the doors to modern music style.Must be sad to such an incredible talent like Jake.
Damn good performance! From everyone and Jake is on fire.
I’ve never watched Ozzy with Carmine before. I really like the way he plays the songs!!
Tommy Aldridge was the best fit for Ozzy! That's why Ozzy rehired him !
@@floydgraves1003subjective.....
@@floydgraves1003Yeah, I disagree. Tommy’s a great guy and a great drummer, but his drumming hasn’t ever done much for me, personally. Carmine is much more my style.
Carmine can’t touch what Tommy did on Tribute. However, I loved Carmine in the Village People in the black leather….
The solo for eternity is legendary!!!
Remarkable guitarist.
06:43 - smoking. Classic Jake E Lee. God he was so good with the first two albums' material.
Twotontessie still is.hes playing like he did back in the day again.remember when was out of music all them years there was a two year period that he didn't even touch a guitar.his comeback was awesome and now he has his flexibility back in his hands and fingers and is kicking ass all over again proving each show that Ozzy is a dipshit for firing him because he didn't want to give him his credit for writing back at the moon and pretty much everything else on both albums they did together.ozzy and Sharon can go eat shit for the way they did this guy fuck them
I don’t understand what first two albums?
Blizzard of Oz and Diary of a madman .... Another guitar player did those albums but Jake played songs from those albums perfect live
He is a natural. Doesn't look like he even trying...he just nailed it. Salute!!!
Oh my, the great Jake E Lee.
Jake E Lee is and has always been my favorite guitar player from Ozzy Osbourne's solo band. Bark At The Moon album is the first Ozzy album I ever listened to back in the mid 80's at nine years old. I was already a Hard Rock/Heavy Metal fan before I listened to it , but it made me become a huge massive fan ever since. Bark At The Moon album changed my life, and it is still just as amazing today as it was when I first listened to it over 35 years ago.
Great post John!
Jake's paranoid live here is unbeatable
Jake is still is one the best Guitarist in the World. AS well Song Writer and Producer.
Even Daisley looks over at Jake, like “this guys a fucking beast”
Jake E Lee is a beast ,wow.
While we are here to see J.E.L, let’s not forget Don Airey (keyboards), Bob Daisley (bass), and Carmine Appice (drums)..This is his BEST lineup ever, although it close to the lineup with Tommy Aldrich on drums!
Finally a camera man stays on the guitarists solos. The solos on I Don’t Know and Bark at the Moon are freaking insane.
jake e lee rules man
I saw the bark at the Moon tour when I was in high school, it was awesome
