    Today I will un-mask the compressors in both Garageband and Logic. You will learn what compressors are being emulated, what they are good for and what I use them on.

    Great vid, Lewin ! I was wondering why so many compressors and what was the difference between then. Thanks for shinning some light on this!

    I started using GarageBand last summer, and your channel taught me everything I needed to know about bringing mixes to the next level. I switched to Logic and have been using it primarily for about 6 months. You explain things so clearly that switching was seamless because I already understood the basics of mixing and using plugins. I just got a new iPad Pro, so I can’t wait to dive back into GarageBand! I’m really glad you’re back. Thank you for your hard work! You’re making a positive impact in the world. Many blessings to you.

    to think that I was tempted to go to slate digital effects when I have not used all GarageBand has to offer...
    Thanks Lewin!

      @@GaragebandandBeyond just finished watching! Great stuff, learned a lot, as someone with just a basic understanding of compression all those different names/presets can be daunting. It was cool to learn where they actually come from, will definitely be experimenting with the different compressors on upcoming recordings! Thanks Lewin, this is definitely a video I will reference again and again I’m sure 👍

    It's a pity the gain make up isn't the 1073 that you get in logic. Good video.

    great Video once again.
    Just a quick question though:
    You gave some good recommendations on which compressor works on what, but how do you decide which one to use?
    just trial and error?

    • @GaragebandandBeyond
      @GaragebandandBeyond  3 года назад +1

      Trial and error yes. However you can research the compressors and find out what other engineers think.

    Lewis, but none of these seven allows access to release time, right?
