    I don't love the 208 (not much wrong with it per se, I just think there are better options), but I certainly wouldn't call it dull to look at. I think its looks are the best thing about it, especially in that trim level and colour. This car really marks the starting point of Peugeot's transformation as a company. Whether you love or hate their cars, you've got to admit that they've really learned how to design in recent years. IMO the new 508 is one of the best looking cars in its class. They've gone from looking great "for a Peugeot" to looking great, full stop.

    All car journalists keep on complaining about the steering wheel blocking the instrument cluster in new Peugeots, but I've sat in several and it just doesn't. It's very nice and I'm not a Peugeot fan at all. Utter bullsh*t this complaint.

      I've just bought one, no issues at all, i love this new steering wheel, i also drive a Chrysler 300 SRT (a 6.4 V8 engine the same size of your cars, you European people) and its steering wheel now appears to be tremendously big, like a semi truck.

    Stupid review really. I won't give too much of a crap about its handling since it is only a normal fucking Peugeot not the GTI ones, as long as the handling are convincing and predictable (which it is) that's more than enough. So they like the styling, its cheap, very economical, quality interior, big legroom and headroom, and has predictable handling. That's literally ticks every box of what a normal hatch should do and yet they only gave it a fucking 6??? There just isn't enough reason why would they slash 4 points from it.

      On the cooking versions of Peugeots, the ESP system auto rearms itself at 31 mph - unless it's a GT or GTI, these can be fully switched off.

    Despite the Pug being the go to car for many peopke, for those of us who can resist the beguiling good looks of these French cars, there still remains the probability that mechanically and the often didgey electrics associated with Pegeuot, the 206, like its front wheel drive sisters before it, has a good chance of becoming a bush pug. Leave this wee Gallic cross dresser alone and go Asian.

    Come and on bruv with 208 the drive is superior in city environment. Going over speed bumps with 40mph is a no problem. The steering for city is nice. The center of weight is alright for a hatchback not like a corsa or horrible clio like a sled 🛷.
    There reviews don’t know anything about city cars.
    I batter by 208 1.2 vti, potholes, speed humps, curbs. Bread and butter not like the low profile cars corsa, fiesta, German cars, Toyota.
    The clearance on this car is way superior - an inch higher makes significant difference in the city.
    Just the engine is burning 3l oil for 1000miles now because I drive it like I stole it for the past year 35k and it is still going amazingly how.
    Wetbelt is a problem change oil every 2800miles and oil filter, or it will start going also when replacing wetbelt make sure the timing is on point cuz it is low interference engine and a milimeter misalignment it will cause engine damage.
    So is the 1,6 diesel engine reliable for battering the car and driving it like a semi rail car will it start using oil of it is a chain ?
    Also Paris and back 4 people no issues, just occasional oil top up but if the engine was bulletproof reliable this would have been the best bang for buck nowadays.
    And tracking has been an issue for me maybe the mechanic was not proper. 2tracing now new tyre is gone in 3 months or 7k

    This was the end of Peugeot's ugly crap. And the begining of their slightly stylish crap.

    • @Acrum99
      @Acrum99 4 года назад

      You do realise that its predecessor (the 207) was a very popular car in Europe (and still is rather common)? Clearly not everyone thinks Peugeots are ugly.

    • @Scigh-on
      @Scigh-on 4 года назад

      @@Acrum99 i know that they are common and that people like them. Its just that i think that the majority of Peugeot's cars are boring and ugly. And Peugeot has not got such a glowing reputation for reliability. Im sorry if i offended you.

    • @Acrum99
      @Acrum99 4 года назад

      @@Scigh-on really? The 207 was one of the most reliable cars in Europe of its time, if I'm not mistaken. I'm not offended btw. In fact, I've never even owned a Peugeot.
