Introducing the new Peugeot 208! It’s a small hatchback that joins an already packed class, filled with world-renowned alternatives like the Ford Fiesta and VW Polo. How does it stack up against the rest of the pack? Well, it certainly looks the part, thanks to those slashing headlights and an incredibly cool interior. It’s even got an EV counterpart, the e-208! But are these updates enough to tempt you away from the other class leaders? Stick with Mat for his latest in-depth review to find out!

@@GenMaster I don't see how can 208 be a car of the year ,I mean it's a nice car but it's literally not best in any segment .Even Clio has better engines ,stronger diesel and 4 cylinders and bigger boot ,more space in the back seat and is cheaper. And packed gt line 130hp costs like a 200hp fiesta st , which is a much better car ,class above peugot and Clio .
Actually anything expect the design is pretty average .But the design ,interior and exterior ,wow,it's really beautiful amazing looking car .I can see it winning the design award ,but car of the year .

Ivan Petrov ever went to the grocery and had a few bags and put them in the boot or in the back seats and everything started turning around in them and falling? Or that falling sound every time you break? No hook in the boot is quite stupid on a new 2020 car. And space overall is quite small in this car, in the boot it’s acceptable, but the back passenger won’t be too happy with that low ceiling and small door.

Peugeot make cars that last...are sturdy...useful...and their suspensions are the best...a lot of other car makers concentrate on " frills" inside the vehicle and don't really pay attention to features that car buyers actually look for...( as mentioned above) also they price competitively..now that's what buyers really want...and here I' m talking about practical and day to day personal / family use...if one wants frills and fancies...there are zillions of options out there... thanks for sharing..

you should be ashamed for turning in a MINI. Peugeot is great and 208 is a beauty, but MINI is not a car it's love. jk hope you enjoy your new car

Rental a Peugeot 208 recently during a visit to the UK...there is a lot to like in the 208 package, even if the car I had was a lower-level spec with a petrol engine. Styling is great, and it was a comfortable motorway cruiser with one of the slickest shifters I've ever had in car like this. It made driving this car fun and easy. It was composed on A and B roads, the ride quality was quite good I thought, and fuel economy was acceptable, if not decent. I had no passengers, so can't comment on back seat space but it did seem a bit tight back there, and the shape of the door meant getting in and out wouldn't be easy for larger kids or adults. The dashboard was okay, a nice pleasing shape but I got the impression Peugeot went for form over function. No mention of the Quartic steering wheel? I didn't think it was necessary and it actually hindered the view of the gauges, but at least it was solid and chunky. I felt that minor controls and switches took an annoying fraction of a second too long to respond - sounds like a minor criticism but it meant there wasn't a good tactile response and I didn't get used to it despite spending a few days with the car. Also, I didn't like having to go into a menu on the screen to change the temperature or fan setting...surely a couple more dials and switches wouldn't mess up the clean fascia too much, would it?? Overall though, this was a pretty nice car and surely would be worth checking out and comparing to a VW Polo if in the market for this type of vehicle.
