- My friend asked to find and fix their gas leak. Must be an excuse to buy a new tool then. I could have achieved the same results with just the soapy water.

It's when you leave it in your pocket turned on, and then try to deny a silent fart, and it snitches on you... :P
It can be used both professionally and for entertainment. Isn’t it a very interesting gadget?😂😂
You've gone so mainstream. I remember the days when a sniff and a listen was enough for you.
Takes me back to working on static caravanes in France , although I would have to crawl around underneath them most of the time…
I don't know if you need the tool, when soapy water is the gold standard.
Oh i wish you had shown us the repair and final testing process
I'm sure the tester has its place. But I still check with soapy water. And it did narrow down the area of the leak before I had to pull the hob and sink up.
The repair was a very dull tightening of the slack connector (most likely heat cycled) and then a spray with soapy water to confirm no more leak.
👌👍👍
Did you tighten the connector?
Sure did. They were all reasonably loose.
@@DavidMcLuckie makes sense with vibration and pressure fittings.

Sure can.
@@DavidMcLuckieTHANKS🥰
And afer you found the gas leak the owner of the camper contacted a qualified gas engineer to fix it.
House gas engineers dont do campers or caravans,
No, as as far as I am aware (and happy to be corrected) you don't need a GasSafe engineer to work on your own vans gas system.
@@DavidMcLuckie correct , but thats not your van
@thomascatford2627, I just found the leak they fixed it.
Wonder if it would detect methane.
It's on the list of gases it detects.
@@DavidMcLuckie i always get blamed.
Hi, our gas detector can detect Propane, Butane, Acetone, Methane, Acetylene, Alcohol, Ammonia, Benzene, Ethanol, Ethylene Oxide, Gasoline, Hexane, Hydrogen, Naphtha, Natural Gas, Paint Thinner, Organic Solvents, Refrigerants (contain propane in), ect. Thank u😆
Your gas cyl should be in a sealed gas box, why are you checking the thermostat control ? Its 12v
I didn't know it wasn't part of the gas. It's not my van.
That's not a thermostat, it's just a 12v rheostat that sets the Webasto demand level.
@@DaveAber9999 ok its still 12v and not gas
@@thomascatford2627 I think we all know that - DM even mentions that later in the video.
I have one of these and the school boy in me di test it with a fart...!!!!!!
