  • Vajrasana (Adamantine Yoga Pose) is a seated pose. Fold both legs, keeping your hips on the heels, toes pointing out behind you and big toes touching each other. Sit on the pit formed by the parted heels. Keep the head, neck, and spine in a straight line. Place the palms on your thighs, facing up. Hold the pose for sometime. After few breaths, relax and straighten your legs.
    Vajrasana enhances blood circulation in the lower abdomen, improving digestion. Relieves excessive gas trouble or pain. Nerves of legs and thighs are strengthened. Its practice makes knees and ankle joints flexible and prevents certain rheumatic diseases.

    Is this accurate? Because we've been taught that the feet must be apart so the buttocks can touch the ground.

      If ur buttocks can touch the ground.. it's called Veer Asana* ( courageous or a Valiant One) vajrasana is for those who cannot attempt Veer Asana Initially ..

    Please don't do this it causes severe heel and foot pain then unable to walk.

      I too felt the pain but with practice it goes away.

      @@TheIndulgence even I had same problem, but after doing some stretching exercise it's comfortable to do vajrasana. Don't do vajrasana right away before do some stretching !
