@@maddyx3711 Actually I lost 4 kgs but I improved my health and got myself in shape. I USED TO Eat 1100 calories .But avoided junk food and only ate homemade food. BEFORE trying this I was looking like a ball but now I look that I am in shape. I didn't increase my calorie intake .but once in a weak I used to eat more calories by eating the food I liked. My flexibility increased a lot.

I started practicing Surya Namaskar daily about a week ago now, after seeing your video. I am going slow and trying to do it correctly. I am up to 10 at a time and already when I move from 5 to 6 I can control my body and speed instead of my arms failing me and just letting my body drop to the floor. Thanks for the explanation. A few years ago my yoga teacher asked me to try to do 108 Surya Namaskar but build up slowly but only after doing a few times, I stopped. Now after watching your 108 for 30 days, I'm motivated again.
As a new mom I find it difficult sometimes to find time for a full yoga practice. So instead I've committed to doing at least 3 Surya Namaskars first thing in the morning and let me tell you - it's a game changer! I loved this video, it's thorough and super helpful. Thank you!

I've been doing this almost every day for approx 6 weeks now and I'm really enjoying it. I've noticed that on days when I start with surya namaskar I am having much better days. I have not been counting how many I do, but I've been doing around between 4 - 6 sets, counting both legs as one set which takes around 10 to 20 minutes or so each morning then I usually follow with 5 minutes of meditation. Then I'll do my regular daily yoga practice at some point throughout the day.

Honestly, I always thought Surya Namaskar was done once every morning as a salutation to the sun. Because nobody says namaskar, namaskar, namaskar to someone so many times! So it is actually an exercise and not really a salutation to the sun. Enlightening video for me. Thanks

Good classical yoga sun salutations. I was taught the same set, except: inhale on back bends, exhale on forward bends & retain (hold the breath) on neutral positions. Feet together for mountain posture, cobra, & inverted V. weight centered on Mountain. *Weight on the heels, pelvis forward on standing back bend, weight shifts to the toes/front of foot for standing forward bends.

I came to RUclips to find inspiration, and your video was my first suggestion. It's so important to get the postures correct and you've explained each pose with such common mistakes we tend to make. Loved the video :) Thank you! I get most of the poses correct except for the ashwasanchalasana where my hand and knee is difficult to position correctly. But I really appreciate this video, was very helpful.
Mistake 1 : Pranama pose should be kept such that the end of your thumb should touch the 12th thoracic vertebra Mistake 2 : Aswasanchalasan : Not 90 degrees of knee, but your tigh should touch your calf muscle Mistake 3 : Dandasan : you should not look straight , look at the space just two feet ahead Mistake 4 : Bhujangasan : there should be no bend at elbow , they should be straight

Thanks for all your guidance and motivation. I started with 20 and adding 10 more each day. I am still not in such a good physical condition to follow your rhythm, so I slow the pace of your 108 sun salutations to 0.75 and it helps me also to be mindful with the right posture in each assana. I understood now from this video that slowing down is OK, and I appreciate. Namasté.
Even though I have watched this video many times, I always learn something new each time I watch it. Just finished my 108 Surya Namaskar yesterday. I have tried doing 108 for 3 days but not consecutively. This time, I want to experiment with 50 Surya Namaskar in the day and 58 in the evening. I'm not sure if it would be as effective but doing 108 is quite challenging - I think it's the boredom and wandering thoughts that are getting to me. As always, thank you Anita for making this and the breathing guide!

Love the ton of inspiration from yr videos. 🙌🙌 I used to begin both my Bharathanatyam and Kuchipudi practice with Suryanamaskaar for 18 years. Those were the days...growing up. Then somehow yoga sadhana fell by the wayside. For the next several years, was doing pilates and other workouts like HIIT regularly and one stray aasana here and there. 😌 In the last few years I resumed by vinyaasa flow and am falling in love with it all over again. My back has actually opened up so much. Your videos are inspiring me to create my own suryanamaskaar challenge. ❤💖💕 Great job pointing out how not to do. Good classical yoga sun salutations. I was taught the same set, except: inhale on back bends, exhale on forward bends & retain (hold the breath) on neutral positions. Feet together for mountain posture, cobra, & inverted V. weight centered on Mountain. *Weight on the heels, pelvis forward on standing back bend, weight shifts to the toes/front of foot for standing forward bends.
From lost 24 years I am doing 108 suryanamaskara. Your teaching is very good.

First of all, thank you 🙏🏼 my personal life have been filled with lots of stress the last two weeks, therefore I have not been able to get on my mat at all. I came to RUclips to find inspiration, and your video was my first suggestion. The moment you said smile, I looked you dead in the eye and don't ask me how but I could feel the joy you sent out in my bone marrow. I am, sufficient to say, super motivated right now.
Secondly, thank you India, I honestly believe that yoga is the greatest gift to humanity ever.

It's so important to get the postures correct and you've explained each pose with such common mistakes we tend to make. Loved the video :) Thank you! I get most of the poses correct except for the ashwasanchalasana where my hand and knee is difficult to position correctly. But I really appreciate this video, was very helpful.

Thanks for creating awareness about "what not to do". These tips are priceless!
Mistake 1 : Pranama pose should be kept such that the end of your thumb should touch the 12th thoracic vertebra
Mistake 2 : Aswasanchalasan : Not 90 degrees of knee, but your tigh should touch your calf muscle
Mistake 3 : Dandasan : you should not look straight , look at the space just two feet ahead
Mistake 4 : Bhujangasan : there should be no bend at elbow , they should be straight

After a break because of some travel and then some longish, painful, bloody periods, I restarted doing yoga today. Your video came at the right time. It was an excellent revision of surya namaskar and a good motivator!

I was searching and watching Kathak tutorials to resume my classical journey... and I landed on this video...
Just today morning itself, I kinda overdid Sooryanamaskar to catch up on a challenge of 500 Suryanamaskars going in my office...
And, here I come across this video saying "if you dont do the postures right, you may hurt yourself"...It hit just where it should.
I was looking for THE Perfect Sooryanamaskar since so long but everybody had their own way of doing. My father taught me something, websites teach something else, youtube teachers some other things...
I used to figure out by collecting the common teachings among them. :)
Today, nearly all of my doubts got resolved.

Thanks for all your guidance and motivation. I started with 20 and adding 10 more each day. I am still not in such a good physical condition to follow your rhythm, so I slow the pace of your 108 sun salutations to 0.75 and it helps me also to be mindful with the right posture in each assana. I understood now from this video that slowing down is OK, and I appreciate. Namasté.

Even though I have watched this video many times, I always learn something new each time I watch it. Just finished my 108 Surya Namaskar yesterday. I have tried doing 108 for 3 days but not consecutively. This time, I want to experiment with 50 Surya Namaskar in the day and 58 in the evening. I'm not sure if it would be as effective but doing 108 is quite challenging - I think it's the boredom and wandering thoughts that are getting to me. As always, thank you Anita for making this and the breathing guide!

Love the ton of inspiration from yr videos. 🙌🙌 I used to begin both my Bharathanatyam and Kuchipudi practice with Suryanamaskaar for 18 years. Those were the days...growing up. Then somehow yoga sadhana fell by the wayside. For the next several years, was doing pilates and other workouts like HIIT regularly and one stray aasana here and there. 😌 In the last few years I resumed by vinyaasa flow and am falling in love with it all over again. My back has actually opened up so much. Your videos are inspiring me to create my own suryanamaskaar challenge. ❤💖💕 Great job pointing out how not to do. Precision is everything -- completely agree.👍🙂
