I have successfully completed 108 Surya Namaskara for a period of 108 days. I was 6 feet tall and weighed 89kg. today Now I weigh 79kg with lots of skin radiance and brightness.
I read a kids book as a kid and it had this in there I loved it! I was thinking of this salutation this morning from that old book. and then hour later this afternoon I found this video In my recommendations! THANKS 💕
Doing yoga and exercises must be part of our culture. Do it daily for lifetime rather than to achieve just a little goal of loosing weight. Because if you continue doing it daily, once body gets fit, next impact comes on mind and ultimately your soul, strengthening them like never before. 👍🏻 PS. It is important to stay well nourished and avoid any kind of fatigue. If possible (which I believe is must) practice brahmacharya too, along with. It will be cherry on the cake if you do so.

@@gaurisharma8997 Start with 1 Surya namaskar daily... then increase it 2 in next week... So increase it week by week.... Trust the Sun (Surya). You giving reverence to it by bowing (namskar,) in front of it. It is biggest source of energy! One day one time is never enough when you are carving something!

I have watched so many vedios on surya namaskar but this has to be my fav one ❤️ it wasn't just about 12 asans that we do in surya namaskar but also about dedication, discipline, productivity, self love, importance of sun salutation and so much more ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Thankyou for this vedio ❤️
After watching your video, I started doing 108 surya namaskar in a week - 108 spread throughout the week or 15 to 16 counts a day. Now my goal is to do the same thing every week and, ultimately, do 108 in a day. I love the feeling after every surya namaskar practice. I’m energetic and more productive too. Thanks for sharing your experience!

According to yoga rules we can do 12reps of Surya namaskar and that is enough and if you go like more than 100 time this can cause of injury in your spinal cord. So plz don't follow such things without proper information. Thanks!

I have successfully completed 30 days of 108 Suryanamskar. I was 63.10kg( 9 August 2023) and now I am 56.45 kg(9 September 2023).My inches are also decreased by 3 to 4 around hips, belly, thighs. I followed diet along with this. It was an amazing experience and it worked. Thank you Mam. Grateful 🥰
When she talks about wanting to do 80 instead of 108 and how your mind will play tricks on you “no one will know” , “add it on to tomorrow’s quota” the mind is truly our biggest obstacle to overcome. Anita garu, I cant thank you enough for your videos on Surya Namaskaras! I started my fitness journey in Jan '23. I have been doing some strength and conditioning workouts and have been following various channels on YT. One fine day your videos popped up on my feed and your videos made the journey even more cherishable! I started with 11 cycles, moved up gradually to 22, 33, 44, 55,66,77,88 and finally to 108 on Yoga Day! I have now made Surya Namaskaras (33/44 cycles) a mandatory part of my morning routine! I can feel the difference in my body and mind. They are rejuvenated and are excited to just show up and take up more work! Thank you so much!!
Ok due to stress with school, family, and work, I gained weight over the winter but I’ve started working out on the elliptical. But you have inspired me to try this. Hopefully I don’t die 😂
I started it yesterday aftr seeing ur video. N literally at 10:26pm I started doing sun salutation and booom I did 108 in 1 hr 10mins.. And I'm thinking to do it like 30days. Wish me luck.

I truly believe when we trying our 100% to achieve something in life the whole universe helps us out in reaching it..your video recommendation was one among them, from past 6months I'm working out at home and eating healthy and have been able to shed 16kgs so far and have reached stubborn plateau and so was looking for variation in my workout regimen....here you are! As I said a week before I'm gonna start this, I did and today is my 7th day of practicing 108 sn and absolute way to kickstart the day😃 and happy to say that atlast I broke my stubborn plateau and awesome improvement in my stamina, I see the difference in my energy and strength when I do my weight training. I really needed this , thanks once again Anita!🙏
I have been procrastinating this too for a very long time now. I had thought of starting with 30 everyday, gradually increasing it. But finding time for this particular reason was only difficult. Watching this video of you taking this challenge has actually inspired me..and I am surely going to start from tomorrow itself. Thank you so much for the inspiration. :)

Dear Anita! Thank you for the challenge! I did 108 sunssalutations for 31days. I have become stronger, I feel great, I lost eright probably 4 kilograms, I am 57 years old. It was always hard between the 70 and 85 sunsalutation. I never stopped in between. I did it in the morning after sunrise. I drank water before. Thank you. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Hi I have started this but I can’t do more than 55 in one day. I have never done yoga in my life before and I loved it. Every part of my body is aching so bad I used to do Pilates and aerobics but it wasn’t the same love you for motivating us all I am also eating healthy as well. I used to do keto but didn’t enjoy it ❤

You are missing the whole point. What you did in past is absolutely good for long term health. 30 minutes of yang and 15 minutes of yin yoga methods ( at different stretches and postures) are exactly best for your eternal healthy mind and body. Practicing steady and normal yoga at an slow increased phase can only help your total wellness

I am so happy I came across this video. What a remarkable achievement and perfect balance of sensible advice and humour. I have been procrastinating a lot about doing yoga regularly but your video has really motivated me. I will start now. Maybe with just 5 and then build it up everyday till I reach 108.😁 I just wanted to ask did you continue through your periods too. I have such horrible cramps that I can never exercise during those days.
@@aasthasingh8996 In reality you should stay away from everything for 05 days. The ritual for siting out of house and get everything in place is for absolutely not using any energy. It is suggested to not even take bath. BUT maintain hygiene. There are several lectures on RUclips that explains in detail ( as per Ayurveda). Even it is wrong when sanitary pads mention to do activities while menstruation. So no exercise.
@@03kanchan Could you explain why? I'm sure there are explanations for everything in Ayurveda as well.. but not knowing them makes me question why someone who is perfectly able to do tasks should not do so for 5 days (and why specifically 5 days, since everyone's period is a different length)
I remember taking hatha yoga so many years back in such a huge auditorium of isha yoga center. Awesome delicious natural food, they too were talking abt 108 times. But it takes time and also somewhat boring to be consistent doing even 1.
It’s a great goal! But you should know there’s no way to just lose belly fat… You’ll burn calories doing sun salutations (or any physical activity) and you’ll lose body fat if you end up using more calories than you take in. Do your sun salutations consistently every day and watch the calories you eat; you’ll absolutely reach your goal to making your belly (and the rest of your body) smaller. Good luck!!
@@laumarlopez8417 I always eat late at night, it doesn’t matter what time of day you eat. All that matters when you want to lose weight is that you burn more calories than you take in.
Actually moving your leg/foot through from down dog forward to meet the other foot in standing position is a good way to target your lower abs. Tip: while in down dog, bend your knees and bounce a little with bent knees to then sweep the leg forward and put your foot between your hands.
I don't exactly know how your channel came into my RUclips feed, but I'm sure glad this video did! Pretty much everything I needed to hear, especially with the spiritual / mental breakthrough. I wear a heart monitor when I workout to accurately measure my calories burned… from doing yoga as a light cardio that I add to weight training I knew 1500 calories for 108 of these was way off. I did all 108 (followed along with your previous video) I burned 172 calories. I think it’s important to let people know that so they aren’t over eating!!!
172 calories for 108 rounds of surya namaskar? That doesn't sound right at all. That's way too low. Maybe it's not 1500 but it has to be way more than that. It would take between 40 minutes to 1 hour to complete 108, that would burn way more than 172.

Superb madam I also did 108 suryanamaskar but we were in a group for rathasaptgami day. We start from 30 increase 10 two months before then we will do like that. Thanks a lot for your inspiration al video
I watched this video on 23rd June.. started doing Surya Namaskar from 24th June onwards.. initially I could not do more than 20-25, that too with maximal effort.. I kept going and kept increasing the numbers gradually.. reached 50, 60, 70, 80 and so on.. somewhere in my mind your words kept ringing.. that after a certain time it's more of a mental challenge than a physical challenge.. it becomes meditative.. so I kept going further and today after 1 month and few more days of regular practice I could do 108 💃I'm totally on cloud nine.. I never imagined that I could do so much.. Thanks to you!! Cheers!! Keep the good work going for inspiring others
Hi Anita, You are a real inspiration for me. I do 28 Surya Namaskars almost every alternate days in 10 minutes. I have decided to increase gradually. I liked your video as it is so informative and you are full of energy, which matters the most.
I have lost 4kg in one month🤗🤗....I'm so happy with my result....Before I was 59kg n now I'm 55kg...but I couldn't complete 108 suryanamaskar🙁 it was so difficult for me to even complete 80 suryanamaskar🥲.....so I go with my own pace and I used to do 60-70 suryanamaskar everyday along with some abs workout💪🏻🥲 I didn't change much in my diet....I just stop eating 🍚rice Guys..everyone's body is different...so the result will also be the different....just don't give up n keep going...u can do it😊👍🏻
Last year I did a workout challenge includes 300 Jumping Jacks 100 Push Ups 12 Burpees 3 minutes Plank but stopped on day 21 because of tendonitis. So stretching is important before and after workouts. This seems fine that stretching itself as workout. Well done 👍

For the past half a year yoga has been crawling into my life, slowly covering every single part of it. And looking back I realize how much it had already impacted me, my way of life and the way I think.
A little correction 1 ideal Surya Namaskar takes 3 min 40 sec (that burns 13.91 calories) To do 108 Surya Namaskar ideally it will take 6.6 hours ( that will burn 1500 calories) Please correct that..
At 40 yr I reached daily 108 Surya namaskar set no. 300 in last 365days. I gained big round shoulder, wings, triceps, Abs, core and obliques muscles and also feel very good flexibility. I am very Happy with my routine but not lost even a 1 kg. May be my body fats are replaced by muscle mass.

I am a yoga teacher. Yes yoga helps in weight loss as well as to maintain good mental health. It is advisable to practice meditation along with asanas.
This is a real super thing that you have mentioned about eating as much as your body is craving for... It's not about you do 108 Surya namaskar and eat only 1 roti.. it's about balancing your food with your exercise without cutting out half of the food which we eat everyday! I was an overweight person a few years ago and I felt really insecure about my looks that I believed if I lose my weight I might look pretty even though it was not true at all. Then began to do yoga as a starter. At first I feel terrible to continue the routine but soon I began to enjoy doing my yoga and I even started cardio and other exercises. Soon ended up losing like 16kg within 5 to 6 months. But when lockdown happened, I gain weight much to my disappointment. I tried again, this time did not control my food, but try to do exercise like a maniac maybe because I am depressed. 3 minute plank, 15 push ups, 1 hour of dancing and many more (like 4 hours of exercise). All these things ended up affecting my health and I had to stop everything. Now here I am again trying to loose my weight but this time in a more healthy way.
I think you did miscalculation in calorie loss. One set is two rounds of Surya namaskar and if you are doing 108 rounds that means you are doing 54 Sets of suryanamaskar. Hence calorie burn will be 54*13.90 = 750 and NOT 108*13.90. Hope I am making sense

Oh I love this! I started a daily yoga practice in April 2019. I'm now on day 820 in a row. My commitment to myself is 15 minutes minimum a day. A lot of days I do more. Like you, it's been a life altering experience. I have yet to do 108 sun salutations, but you just inspired me! I don't know that I'll do 30 days of them in a row, but just even doing 108 would be overcoming a big mental block around that number. If I can do 820 days of yoga I can do 108 sun salutations! 😁
I've started and stopped the 30 day 108 SN challenge about 5 times now and I come back to this video every single time. "Show up for that one thing everyday" is life changing.

The thing you said about just having a mental block around getting work done really hit me ive been beating myself up about it feeling guilty as pre - lockdown and pre covid i was great at getting things done (im a type A personality) ... so im going to do this challenge - i am! And im going to come back and update you - Thankyou for giving me new hope - i havent been myself since the start of the pandemic.❤️
Not to pop the excitement here.. but it should be a no brainer that doing any kind of activity for 30 days continuously will result in some change. For example, if you could smoke for 30 days or eat McDonalds for 30 days and that would result in a change in your body (not a good change though). It need not be 108 salutations, but you could simply walk a couple of miles every day for 30 days and you WILL LOSE weight. The point is, can you do that same activity for EVERY DAY for the rest of your life? If not, when you stop doing that activity and you will regain the weight you lost. Although doing the same exercise for 30 days is good for an experiment, doing the same exercise every day will get boring at some point even if you want to make a RUclips video, trying to become the next internet sensation. The more sensible thing would be to mix it up so you keep it interesting for yourself. You could run one day, yoga another day, do HIIT another day, do meditation another day, do sports another day, do hiking another day etc.
Anita, this youTube of yours came into my feed one day out of the blue when I was not even looking for SuryaNamaskar. Call it modern-day AI or call it universe telling me something. You sound just like me... love the next challenge always. I exercise 5-6 times a week, run half marathons etc. but something ticked in me when I saw this video and I knew this was my next challenge! Your other video, where you do 108 SNs is the best for beginners. Love it. followed for a few days and went on my way. Today, day 14, was my personal best- finished in 34 mins and 39 secs. No, I was not racing. Did it at a comfortable pace and did not stop at half point. For me, this is not 14 consecutive days as I do strength training 3 out of 6 days a week. LOve your energy and thanks for making it look so easy! I recommend your video to any beginner. Wishing you the best.

I increase 10 more surya namaskar everyday I am eating 2 times than i used to eat and i sleep 9 hours badly 31 july 2021 I have completed 80 1 aug i have done 90 Today i will do 💯

i am 44 years old, apprx 85 Kgs and do yoga on and off .. after seeing your video took it seriously to reach 108 SNs every day.. started on Dec 7th 2022 with 24 SNs increased by 12 daily and reached to 108 per day by Dec 14th, it was very tough journey.. in Jan 2023 did 108 SNs for 18 days .. it took upto 2 hours to complete 108 initially then reduced to 1.5 hours.. in Feb could not do much because of travel and cold/cough sickness.. its 7th time so far 108 SNs in Feb .. and time taken reduced to just 39 min :) body strength is one thing but managing breath is also important.. btw i also chant Surya bhagwan name while doing .. there used to be pains in the body .. oil (cold pressed) massage really helped .. even applying heat helps a lot in relieving pains.. so far 28 days i have completed 108 SNs . my aim is to do it for 108 days .. till world yoga day June 21st 2023 .. SN helps not only build body strength it improves stamina as well and lungs capacity .. its pranayama .. thanks for your inspiration ..

Doing yoga and exercises must be part of our culture. Do it daily for lifetime rather than to achieve just a little goal of loosing weight. Because if you continue doing it daily, once body gets fit, next impact comes on mind and ultimately your soul, strengthening them like never before. 👍🏻
PS. It is important to stay well nourished and avoid any kind of fatigue. If possible (which I believe is must) practice brahmacharya too, along with. It will be cherry on the cake if you do so.

@@gaurisharma8997 Start with 1 Surya namaskar daily... then increase it 2 in next week... So increase it week by week.... Trust the Sun (Surya). You giving reverence to it by bowing (namskar,) in front of it. It is biggest source of energy!

After watching your video, I started doing 108 surya namaskar in a week - 108 spread throughout the week or 15 to 16 counts a day. Now my goal is to do the same thing every week and, ultimately, do 108 in a day. I love the feeling after every surya namaskar practice. I’m energetic and more productive too. I have successfully completed 30 days of 108 Suryanamskar. I was 63.10kg( 9 August 2023) and now I am 56.45 kg(9 September 2023).My inches are also decreased by 3 to 4 around hips, belly, thighs. I followed diet along with this. It was an amazing experience and it worked. Thank you Mam. Grateful 🥰

I have been doing some strength and conditioning workouts and have been following various channels on YT. One fine day your videos popped up on my feed and your videos made the journey even more cherishable! I started with 11 cycles, moved up gradually to 22, 33, 44, 55,66,77,88 and finally to 108 on Yoga Day! I have now made Surya Namaskaras (33/44 cycles) a mandatory part of my morning routine! As I said a week before I'm gonna start this, I did and today is my 7th day of practicing 108 sn and absolute way to kickstart the day😃 and happy to say that atlast I broke my stubborn plateau and awesome improvement in my stamina, I see the difference in my energy and strength when I do my weight training. Dear Anita! Thank you for the challenge! I did 108 sunssalutations for 31days. I have become stronger, I feel great, I lost eright probably 4 kilograms, I am 57 years old. It was always hard between the 70 and 85 sunsalutation. I never stopped in between. I did it in the morning after sunrise. I drank water before. Thank you. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

What you did in past is absolutely good for long term health. 30 minutes of yang and 15 minutes of yin yoga methods ( at different stretches and postures) are exactly best for your eternal healthy mind and body. Just a small suggestion, avoid doing any type of exercise during menstruations cycle. 5 days no exercise. It is as per Ayurveda. All the best!

@@aasthasingh8996 In reality you should stay away from everything for 05 days. The ritual for siting out of house and get everything in place is for absolutely not using any energy. It is suggested to not even take bath. BUT maintain hygiene. There are several lectures on RUclips that explains in detail ( as per Ayurveda). Even it is wrong when sanitary pads mention to do activities while menstruation. So no exercise.
@@03kanchan Could you explain why? I'm sure there are explanations for everything in Ayurveda as well.. but not knowing them makes me question why someone who is perfectly able to do tasks should not do so for 5 days (and why specifically 5 days, since everyone's period is a different length)

I remember taking hatha yoga so many years back in such a huge auditorium of isha yoga center. Awesome delicious natural food, they too were talking abt 108 times. But it takes time and also somewhat boring to be consistent doing even 1.

It’s a great goal! But you should know there’s no way to just lose belly fat… You’ll burn calories doing sun salutations (or any physical activity) and you’ll lose body fat if you end up using more calories than you take in.
Do your sun salutations consistently every day and watch the calories you eat; you’ll absolutely reach your goal to making your belly (and the rest of your body) smaller. Good luck!!

Actually moving your leg/foot through from down dog forward to meet the other foot in standing position is a good way to target your lower abs. Tip: while in down dog, bend your knees and bounce a little with bent knees to then sweep the leg forward and put your foot between your hands.
I don't exactly know how your channel came into my RUclips feed, but I'm sure glad this video did! Pretty much everything I needed to hear, especially with the spiritual / mental breakthrough. I wear a heart monitor when I workout to accurately measure my calories burned… from doing yoga as a light cardio that I add to weight training I knew 1500 calories for 108 of these was way off. I did all 108 (followed along with your previous video) I burned 172 calories. I think it’s important to let people know that so they aren’t over eating!!!

172 calories for 108 rounds of surya namaskar? That doesn't sound right at all. That's way too low. Maybe it's not 1500 but it has to be way more than that. It would take between 40 minutes to 1 hour to complete 108, that would burn way more than 172.

I watched this video on 23rd June.. started doing Surya Namaskar from 24th June onwards.. initially I could not do more than 20-25, that too with maximal effort.. I kept going and kept increasing the numbers gradually.. reached 50, 60, 70, 80 and so on.. somewhere in my mind your words kept ringing.. that after a certain time it's more of a mental challenge than a physical challenge.. it becomes meditative.. so I kept going further and today after 1 month and few more days of regular practice I could do 108 💃I'm totally on cloud nine.. Hi Anita, You are a real inspiration for me. I do 28 Surya Namaskars almost every alternate days in 10 minutes. I have decided to increase gradually. I liked your video as it is so informative and you are full of energy, which matters the most.
I have lost 4kg in one month🤗🤗....I'm so happy with my result....Before I was 59kg n now I'm 55kg...but I couldn't complete 108 suryanamaskar🙁 it was so difficult for me to even complete 80 suryanamaskar🥲.....so I go with my own pace and I used to do 60-70 suryanamaskar everyday along with some abs workout💪🏻🥲
I didn't change much in my diet....I just stop eating 🍚rice

but stopped on day 21 because of tendonitis. So stretching is important before and after workouts. This seems fine that stretching itself as workout. Well done 👍

At 40 yr I reached daily 108 Surya namaskar set no. 300 in last 365days. I gained big round shoulder, wings, triceps, Abs, core and obliques muscles and also feel very good flexibility. I am very Happy with my routine but not lost even a 1 kg. May be my body fats are replaced by muscle mass.

It's not about you do 108 Surya namaskar and eat only 1 roti.. it's about balancing your food with your exercise without cutting out half of the food which we eat everyday! I was an overweight person a few years ago and I felt really insecure about my looks that I believed if I lose my weight I might look pretty even though it was not true at all. Then began to do yoga as a starter. At first I feel terrible to continue the routine but soon I began to enjoy doing my yoga and I even started cardio and other exercises. Soon ended up losing like 16kg within 5 to 6 months. But when lockdown happened, I gain weight much to my disappointment. I tried again, this time did not control my food, but try to do exercise like a maniac maybe because I am depressed. 3 minute plank, 15 push ups, 1 hour of dancing and many more (like 4 hours of exercise). All these things ended up affecting my health and I had to stop everything. Now here I am again trying to loose my weight but this time in a more healthy way.
I think you did miscalculation in calorie loss. One set is two rounds of Surya namaskar and if you are doing 108 rounds that means you are doing 54 Sets of suryanamaskar. Hence calorie burn will be 54*13.90 = 750 and NOT 108*13.90. Hope I am making sense

I'm a vegetarian now. Do that's the only theme I can think of. Also I eat healthy.... No processed food, no junk food. You get the idea 😉

Oh I love this! I started a daily yoga practice in April 2019. I'm now on day 820 in a row. My commitment to myself is 15 minutes minimum a day. A lot of days I do more. Like you, it's been a life altering experience. I have yet to do 108 sun salutations, but you just inspired me! I don't know that I'll do 30 days of them in a row, but just even doing 108 would be overcoming a big mental block around that number. If I can do 820 days of yoga I can do 108 sun salutations! 😁

@@parikhan6599 every single time I did. Within 5 days the body just feels more compact, and my arms (where I carry a lot of my weight) look toned and people always tell me that my skin glows every time I do the 108 SN.

The thing you said about just having a mental block around getting work done really hit me ive been beating myself up about it feeling guilty as pre - lockdown and pre covid i was great at getting things done (im a type A personality) ... so im going to do this challenge - i am! And im going to come back and update you - Thankyou for giving me new hope - i havent been myself since the start of the pandemic.❤️

Not to pop the excitement here.. but it should be a no brainer that doing any kind of activity for 30 days continuously will result in some change. For example, if you could smoke for 30 days or eat McDonalds for 30 days and that would result in a change in your body (not a good change though). It need not be 108 salutations, but you could simply walk a couple of miles every day for 30 days and you WILL LOSE weight. The point is, can you do that same activity for EVERY DAY for the rest of your life? If not, when you stop doing that activity and you will regain the weight you lost. Although doing the same exercise for 30 days is good for an experiment, doing the same exercise every day will get boring at some point even if you want to make a RUclips video, trying to become the next internet sensation. The more sensible thing would be to mix it up so you keep it interesting for yourself. You could run one day, yoga another day, do HIIT another day, do meditation another day, do sports another day, do hiking another day etc.
Anita, this youTube of yours came into my feed one day out of the blue when I was not even looking for SuryaNamaskar. Call it modern-day AI or call it universe telling me something. You sound just like me... love the next challenge always. I exercise 5-6 times a week, run half marathons etc. but something ticked in me when I saw this video and I knew this was my next challenge! Your other video, where you do 108 SNs is the best for beginners. Love it. followed for a few days and went on my way. Today, day 14, was my personal best- finished in 34 mins and 39 secs. No, I was not racing. Did it at a comfortable pace and did not stop at half point. For me, this is not 14 consecutive days as I do strength training 3 out of 6 days a week. LOve your energy and thanks for making it look so easy! I recommend your video to any beginner. Wishing you the best.

i am 44 years old, apprx 85 Kgs and do yoga on and off .. after seeing your video took it seriously to reach 108 SNs every day.. started on Dec 7th 2022 with 24 SNs increased by 12 daily and reached to 108 per day by Dec 14th, it was very tough journey.. in Jan 2023 did 108 SNs for 18 days .. it took upto 2 hours to complete 108 initially then reduced to 1.5 hours.. in Feb could not do much because of travel and cold/cough sickness.. its 7th time so far 108 SNs in Feb .. and time taken reduced to just 39 min :) body strength is one thing but managing breath is also important.. btw i also chant Surya bhagwan name while doing .. there used to be pains in the body .. oil (cold pressed) massage really helped .. even applying heat helps a lot in relieving pains.. so far 28 days i have completed 108 SNs . my aim is to do it for 108 days .. till world yoga day June 21st 2023 .. SN helps not only build body strength it improves stamina as well and lungs capacity .. its pranayama .. thanks for your inspiration ..
