This video is missing the most important step. You need to remove the gas strut that holds the back door open first. If you don't do this the pressure inside the gas strut will force the whole tailgate to the driver side of the Bronco and cause your bolt to missalign! I had to fix mine with a ratchet strap from the rear passenger D-Ring to the tailgate to crank it back so I could thread the factory bolts back into the hinge. After I was able to get the factory hinge bolts back in, I was able to open the tailgate again and remove the gas strut. After that, install went smoothly. This Step is KEY!
If you are doing a 37 this is the mod for you! Feel free to reach out to us with any other questions on bronco mods. We have plenty available for them!
The keyed version of the Rotopax mounts have issues after a while, especially if you don't use for a while, so I'd proceed with caution. Imagine running out of gas and the lock doesn't work...
One of the hardest things I’ve installed on my bronco following the instructions. Even with the top bolts of the hinge pre installed and padding underneath. The alignment of the bottom bolts quickly become mismatched…
Is there any way to add some additional security or a locking mechanism to the rotating bit that secures the jerry can? Just curious, I'd never store fuel in it and leave it unattended but it would be nice to be able to leave an empty can secured to the tailgate and not have to worry about it wandering off.
Absolutely! Rotopax makes a lock for their cans it functions just as the rotating assembly but with a keyed lock on it. We didn’t use that part on this video just for simplicity sake but it is available.
Are there any issues with taillight clearance when opening the tailgate with the stock 35s and the accessory arm with rotopax? I'm very interested in this setup but would like to still get tailgate open to 90 degrees.

Do you need the brake light extension (and spacer?) if running stock Wildtrak (Sasquatch) wheels and tires?
No sir, not needed unless you want to run our future chase light bracket.

How do I get the shadow black one like the one in this video?
Hey Carl, give us a call or shoot the sales team an email sales@hpbuilt.com and we can get you what you need. Thanks!
I'm definitely ordering this for my 37s. One question, does the gas container come with the mount?
Hi Amy, the gas container is sold separately. It is available on our website www.Hammerbuilt.shop

Can't wait to get mine on! Quick question, does the brake light extension work with both Sasquatch and non-sasquatch models? Or just one of them?
Great question! The brake light extension does work with both Sasquatch and non Sasquatch models.
So Glad my FJ don't have this problem
