    Great, thanks. Just what I needed. Didn't know how a function curve is used. Saves making my own curve. 👍

    Thanks Andrew for this timely video! You've presented the whole process nice and clearly to a relative newcomer. 👍 Based on what you did I now have crow brakes in my Zorro for a Bix 3 I've just 'inherited' from my club (which elicited a donation of course 😀). My setup is slightly different: I've kept the full flap adjustment (incl reflex) on the slider/wheel and arm crow brakes on a 2-pos switch whilst keeping them deactivated for any reflex flaps. Plus I've mixed the flaps into the ailerons, last step is to mix the ailerons into the flaps but that will take an extra channel- I've only got a 6-ch receiver currently.

    Andrew,
    You make the best videos, I have learned so much from you!
    This video was so important to me on how to change directions of servos but the video blur was really bad, it was very hard to see.
    Please keep making your videos, I also just bought a Phoenix S to fly slope here at the beach here in Sothern California, USA!
    You are the best, God bless you
    Daniel

      Sorry about the focus at that point Daniel. I should have inserted a sharp picture.

      @@AndrewNewton Hi Andrew, for me I don’t want to use the program in the computer although I do have it my friend install it for me who is a computer guru I just want to be able to know how to do it on the radio in the field I figured a lot of it out already but the learning curve was not straight up lol
      I purchased my Fenix X from Banggood and it’s going to be shipped out sometime in the middle of March so I should have it in the middle of June perfect timing I am very excited, I also found a Phoenix to thousand a friend of mine had he only flew at four or five times when he landed he broke the motor shaft and he hung it in the garage with countless other plans and he just gave it to me and he said you have to buy a new motor which I did so I upgraded from 850 KV to a 1050 KV same motor size and then I put a 60 amp ESC so I should be good to go, thank you for everything I watch your stuff all the time especially on sloping with that phoenix I have similar places to fly here in Southern California because I’m right at the coast thank you again

    Wonder if there is a way to use crow braking mixed with rudder to use each side as an airbrake and drag rudder

  • @BrainDeadEngineering
    @BrainDeadEngineering 2 года назад

    this is really good newt ! Im building a flying wing 2400mm and I am putting spoilers on wing end, they are like a crow but its a flap below mirroring the flap above, like a clam! both open the same. act as air brake and drag to get flat turn like a rudder does. this will help me. I just dont know how i am going to actuate the spoiler on one servo 🤔

    • @AndrewNewton

      Very interesting. Probably need 4 servos

    Off topic, but noticed you were using the FrSky X8R. I've noticed I'm having slight range issues with mine while under range check. What antenna's are you using on them? The printed flat board type that comes with them, or did you replace them with something else? Couldn't see properly in the video. Thanks for your advice. PS. Love the Swordfish. Finally maidens mine this morning. Beautiful bird. I am thinking if making a couple of wing extentions, maybe 6" or 8" each between wing and fuse for a little more float in calm, no wind day's

      Russ. Take your X8R and put it on a concrete floor, then hit it with a hammer, then throw it as far as you can. That’s what I did with two of them, I could never resolve their issues.

      My X8R has the chunky plastic covered PCB antennas. I would expect at least 2km range unless your antennas are broken. Love the idea of a more glidey Swordfish.

    This is so cool - I'm new to RC and I've got a couple of questions - I've only seen TX-12 as ELRS - Where did you get a 7 channel receiver that's compatible with ELRS? Does this act to slow down the plane when landing?

    • @AndrewNewton
      @AndrewNewton  Год назад +1

      Yes like airbrakes. This is not ELRS

      @@AndrewNewton Thanks for confirming. Where does one find the TX-12 in 4-in-1 or is that even availabe?
