Andrew,, thanks for the rapid response with the video… super clear, It was the small settings that I’m not familiar with that tripped me up. Once I learn thaws things once they become engrained in my memory. With this great power I will only use it for good,, lol. I flew the ASW28 this morning with just normal flaps and she flew amazing. It was my first flight with the X20s and it felt great in the hands. I think it will be a great radio going forward
I usually set this all up from scratch too. For instance, I usually put flaps on the throttle stick. And it's always a pain trying to get that working. I'll have to try this out. Looks like I could save a lot of time and frustration.
@@AndrewNewton Sorry Andrew is that a "I think "or a "I know". Because it makes the world of difference for landing gliders, using the throttle stick for crow braking. You should try it.
@@AndrewNewton yes, I have mine on a 3 stage switch. Off, half and full power. I wouldn't have it on a power plane, but a glider has the motor only as a means to get hight, apart from that I don't use the motor.
Hi Andrew, I'm new to FrSky and have found your videos very helpful so far. I have an X20RS and am presently setting up a couple of competition F5J gliders. I am seeking assistance at this time in relation to the flight timer. Flight time is critical for F5J ensuring that landing can be achieved prior to the horn sounding for the end of working time. I have set the timer up with the timer to start when I start the motor and launch. The motor is on a 3 position switch with off, half power on middle position and then full power on the 3rd position. I need the timer to start whether I launch at half or full power positions and I need it to continue running if i vary between these 2 motor power positions in the launch time of the flight. Essentially I need the 3 position switch to be on in both the middle and 3 positions. Would appreciate any guidance you can provide. Thanks Evan
Greetings Evan. I don't use timers so might not be a lot of help, I'll have a play with mine anyway. Have a look at Steve's video on Ethos timers ruclips.net/video/qjmix45yIEQ/видео.html
I think I have it. Let's call SA your throttle switch. Timer Start Condition needs to be !SA^ (which means SA is not up. SA up is the zero throttle position) and change Stop condition to Custom with nothing entered as the condition. Then I would use a momentary switch to Reset back to the start time.
Hello Andrew! could you make a video on setting up a dlg airframe with an archer gr6 receiver? What mixes are used and will 6 channels be enough for dlg? Thanks
Question for you Andrew, love the vid, makes it easy. So have crow working, well sort of on a switch. Both Flaps down, but one aileron will move slightly down, not up. I've change 'inverted' in the output but that only makes both ailerons go the same direction. Is there something in the mix i'm missing? Taa
Don't INVert the Output, that changes it for ailerons and crow mix. Just adjust the weight of the aileron line in the Crow mix. It starts as 10% I think, may need to be something like -30%

This is EXACTLY what I needed. Thank you. Just bought my first TX running Ethos so needed this.
Nice gear, it will serve you well
Thanks, Andrew for the great review. That kind of wizard is what I hope Edge TX 3.0 will have. It would be fantastic!
I like the ethos operating system , it seems quite intuitive.

I haven't used throttle for flaps, but I'll give it a go.
Awesome video. Thank You!
Merry Christmas and lets hope for a happy new year ⛄🎅🏼🎄 There is an awful lot of buttons on that transmitter 🤔
Thanks Grandad. Too many buttons is not enough.
Very helpful video Andrew, can you tell me where to get those stick ends on your radio, thanks, Greg.
Thanks Greg. I printed the stick ends, Thingiverse page in the description
Thanks for sharing, would be nice to know from where you got the red sticks' covers, are they part of the accessories or purchased separately. Thanks
I printed these www.thingiverse.com/thing:4539793 but Frsky also sell others
@@AndrewNewton thanks a lot 👌
Good video!!
I will buy this model!!
I have a doubt, how do you charge the battery of the X20 transmitter?
USB charging built it, or out of the transmitter charge with a 2S Lipo charger
Very nice radio, well explained. Pity crow braking isn't doable on the throttle stick. Thanks Andrew and Merry Christmas
Thanks Knut. I think you just have to choose Throttle instead of the switch

we have to have ailerons on two separate pins to do crow then unless u have those fancy new digital servos i guess
Correct. Always need 2 channels for ailerons with crow or flaperons
Andrew, Im hoping to use many of my G-RX8 vario receivers with my new Frsky X20 Tandem Txr will the vario still be usable?
Yes, still compatible
Andrew can you show me how to adjust the servo speed in butterfly mix in ethos so it comes on slow and goes off fast - cheers
Ask MrD Falling with style. He is the Ethos expert
i think its in the outputs, there's a delay or time, you can do it for flaps too
Looks a lot like my Jeti DS-24. Very similar.
Not very

First or Last? It's just where the mix appears in the list on the Mixer screen
