I was excited to see your review on this. The walls looked great. Pop tops were amazing. Flat spins looked great. Knife edge is a drag. Snaps looked awesome.
Jon, this was an excellent review! We have been asking you for months and You totally delivered with this fantastic video! 10/10 I really like the voice over Jon and pilot Jon!! I know what I’m picking up as my first plane of 2024! The Bighorn! Thank you for the set up guide at the end it’s fantastic and super helpful.
I've had my Bighorn for two years now. It scared me a bit when I first flew it because it seemed so twitchy, but now that I've gotten used to it, I really enjoy it. I'm no 3D pilot, but I can do inverted flat spins with mine...and I just think that's a super cool maneuver. It's a really good plane.
I’ve had this plane in my cart waiting to pull the trigger several times. Watched a couple of them fly and looked at close in person before. they’re very nicely covered and seem to have a pretty wide flight envelope.
1:31 I did see a video of this plane when the pilot actually put a 6s on it talk really, really sick power I mean WHOA!!!!! 2:22 Nah!! Jon I actually thought you ment to do that? 😜😜😜😜🤣🤣🤣🤣 4:19 I can't believe you said that with a staright face Jon🤣🤣🤣🤣 Awesome job on the review, flights and set up guide also Merry Christmas& A Happy New Year to you Jon''Without The H''😁😁
I've had this plane for over a year and I just love it. Yes you can fly it in 4s. It will fly really lazy or crazy. I fly off of grass so yes I had to put bigger wheels. But again I love it and for the price it's amazing. I don't have to tell you, but put some full span ailerons and crow and its nuts.
Nice review, I found the same thing with the 65" OMP Bushmaster, the stiff gear takes a little getting used to but it can be landed smoothly once you get used to the characteristics of the plane. It's no springy soft Timber but it does a lot of other stuff better. Like most things in life there are sacrifices to be made in some areas for performance gains in other areas. I'm tempted by the Bighorn but will be waiting for the 100" version they have coming. 😊
@@TwoBrosRC mine will be gasoline powered, I've been waiting for something to throw my OS GT33 into for a couple years, just missed the Timber 110" so the Bighorn looks like the best option available (when they finally release it).
This thing fly's amazing!! of course with the proper skill level. Another great review Jon. I've thought about getting the BigHorn for a while now, I might just have to splurge a little. I think I'd try the FMS 1300 pa-18 wheels/tires, if they're not too heavy. Thanks for your efforts and videos to the rc aircraft hobby. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, AirHammer out!!
Hey Jon. Have you ever done a video where you do trick flying like pop tops, crank shafts, flat spins, hover, you know all the 3D stuff while telling us the stick position to achieve the stunts? If so could you please direct me to it. Once again thanks for you time! Dean.
I fly mine on 6S, mostly because the air temperature can reach up to 40 degrees C. where I live; and also because…it is fun to be overpowered:) Crazy fun stol/3D/XA machine!
Thanks for the review! I've been flying this for 2years and I wish I could do some of the things you do with it. I don't know why my knife edges are super easy, maybe because I fly on 4s or my cg is different but they are effortless. Did you try a knife edge flat spin? This is the only plane I have that can do them! Again, thanks for the review and if you come up with a good tire setup let us know what you use. Merry Christmas to you and your audience!!!!
Incredible at 3D/XA but absolutely terrible at bush/stol. I crashed mine (I’ve been flying for 30 years) because it had a nasty tip stall bite even with a wildly low elevator rate. I’d put it on par with the timber X in terms of stability.
Looks like I made the bubble in the beginning of the video asking for the bighorn lol. Great video I new you would love it. Now Jon did you here there's a 100 inch bighorn coming from Omp?
i heard from omp hobby and buddy rc both. if you search 100 inch bighorn in you tube, several videos will show. i think they7 are avaliable in australia now.@@aarshmathur2909
I think I should fly it sometime. It has been on the shelf for almost four years and is still in its original packaging.🤦🏻The Challenger 49 GP lies on top also packaged. 😂
Nice review. I have been eyeballing that plane for a while. The other one that I have not a lot of reviews on is the durafly tundra, have you any experience with it?
This one might benefit from a gyro. No I don’t think every plane should have one, but if it’s got goofy characteristics it can be helpful. Crack turbo beaver is like that. Terrible coupling. Added a Vbar Neo and it’s awesome.
This video is a good example of why I wasn’t excited when you started to get free airplanes. A lot of your time was spent reviewing planes that were not a good fit for you. If your goal was to be an RCSaylors with more tumbling, you really nailed it. But for $3 an hour, why? (Nothing against RCSaylors) This review was great. But I think that’s in large part because you chose the plane.
Our annual income doesn't depend on RUclips. There's plans to hopefully be able to retire and focus entirely on the channel, but that's a long way from now. Our main source of income comes from Jon's career, which pays very well. So he's not pressured by companies because he can buy models to review - it's not a situation where TBRC's ability to film content is dependent upon being sent models to shoot. If you really go into it, you can find reasons to complain, but that's often driven by a particular reviewer's conflict of interest - they want it to be something it isn't, and the model they want it to be happens to be a model they can make affiliate cash from. That's not how we run this channel. We try to approach each model from the perspective of "What was it designed for, and can it be pushed beyond those limits?" The airframes sent to us aren't free. The amount of work it takes to fly them, record, edit, optimize each video, and engage with the community is a net negative in terms of money. It would be cheaper for us to buy airframes and just fly them and enjoy the hobby without being F-list celebrities on RUclips. We do what we do out of passion and enjoyment and wishing to share knowledge and tips/techniques or product reviews to showcase what these airframes are truly capable of. If we wanted to be like the people you mentioned, we'd simply say everything is the best ever and never find any complaints about them. Or bother pushing them to do more than fly in circles in SAFE. We review models in this fashion even if we don't buy them. The simple fact of RC flight is that most consumer-grade hobby airplanes are good out of the box, with some quirks for each one, and we try to cover those quirks and provide our viewpoint on them.
I more than appreciate your videos & honest reviews. Nothing turns me off more than someone “sailing” through review after review with one product after another from the same distributor/manufacturer/brand. Like anyone can trust a single word spoken. Keep up the great work. I know it takes A LOT of time and effort to bring high quality content to the table, but i see your channel growing exponentially and possibly becoming a very enjoyable full time gig.
Timbers are more stable, and better for flying in confined areas or off rough terrain. Bighorn is a wooden Timber X that's half the weight, and we'd take it over a Timber X every time.
This plane looks pretty good but a little expensive for me. There are a lot of other planes in the price range that are bigger/better? I live vicariously through youtube.
So everybody has to be a 3d pilot now. This plane is the perfect example of how any plane can 3d with huge control surfaces, massive throws, a rearward cg and enough power. Not impressed.
I was excited to see your review on this. The walls looked great. Pop tops were amazing. Flat spins looked great. Knife edge is a drag. Snaps looked awesome.
Like a Timber X that is not tying to kill itself. I get that totally! Merry Christmas John thanks for your content this year.

Skanking to dnb in my room wishing I could fly on this cold NY day

Yes already have it, sadly the reserve nose Cowell is never in stock, but for the rest it's the best plane ever

Straight wings don't "tip stall" 😉 - but agreed. If it's being marketed as a bush plane, it's not a very good one.
@@TwoBrosRCwell I don’t know what else you’d call it when you’re flying at a completely safe speed and pull half elevator and it flips inverted.
Did you use a receiver that had a gyro with it or nothing, and you think it should?
We basically always use a gyro-stabilized receiver - the CG we prefer to fly on necessitates it in almost every case.
Bruh what is that intro!? 😂 the horn. Great vid btw.
It just came to us in a fever dream. 😂

love my bighorn john. theres a 110 inch version coming out in january

So did anyone change wheels with air tires and improve boucing landings? Seemed like a great model
We installed FMS 1300mm Super Cub wheels on ours, but haven't had a chance to test them yet.
Cool...thanks for the information.
I think I should fly it sometime. It has been on the shelf for almost four years and is still in its original packaging.🤦🏻The Challenger 49 GP lies on top also packaged. 😂
You're totally missing out! Build that Bighorn and fly it!
@@TwoBrosRC I have too many planes and far too little space.
Nice review. I have been eyeballing that plane for a while. The other one that I have not a lot of reviews on is the durafly tundra, have you any experience with it?
Nope, none at all.
Umm....That Intro was Creepy AF!....That being said, I do like a Stiff Woody!😎
If your woody isn't stiff, you've got a foamy.
This one might benefit from a gyro. No I don’t think every plane should have one, but if it’s got goofy characteristics it can be helpful. Crack turbo beaver is like that. Terrible coupling. Added a Vbar Neo and it’s awesome.
It uses a gyro and still has a lot of coupling issues.

It's pretty inexpensive for a PnP balsa airframe.
Wait YOURRR JON!!?!?!
There are many Jons, but this one is Jon.
They are excellent planes but the landing gear really lets it down.
On pavement and other hard surfaces, sure! On grass it's almost unnoticeable.
the voice to lip sync is off
It's not though?
Too bad most OMC planes are & have been out of stock for a long time.
Such is the consequence of things being popular.
Back in stock i guess
Plenty stock here.
