Don’t apologize for your set up. Like you said: Content creation is a lot work and requires a ton of dedication. Thanks for the consistently great videos.
Hi Kenneth. Thanks so much for your support and kind words. I appreciate that. You're quite welcome! Very happy you're enjoying the content. I am passionate about the hobby so the time and work pays off. Hope you have a great weekend!
"Love is the Drug" old 70's song by Roxy Music. I need to be carbon dated LOL. I didn't get any Black Friday deals myself. Most of my purchases are of the vicarious nature. Ha ha. Another great shave. Great lather and good to see the Gillette Slim in action. My boy is hosting a sleepover Saturday so I need to straighten things up. You're a good man and keep the vids coming. Hope all is going great with you and your bride.
Hi Doug! Thank you so much for your continued support and positive feedback! I always appreciate you stopping by to watch. Yeah, I should've known the soap name is a reference lol. Totally missed that. Smart man you are by not going crazy on black friday while everyone else goes broke lol. Vintage razors were always mehh for me until I started using the slim. It's such a phenomenal shaver. I think you mentioned you had one, but if you don't I can't recommend it enough. Things are swell with us:)! Good luck with the house tidying and have a great weekend my friend!
Great shave and congrats on 2 years! I just got a Slim Adjustable (1968) and have got great shaves out of it so far (I've been between settings 5-8, haven't dialed it up to 9 yet). Have a great weekend!
Thanks so much for stopping by and watching Joseph! Very happy to hear you've been enjoying your slim! It's a fantastic shaver. I actually never expected a vintage razor to perform this well. Very pleasantly surprised with it. 5-8 sounds like a comfortable range. You enjoy the weekend as well!
I got 14 half once samples from Murphy since all M&M products were 30% off. I stopped there. It was difficult to not keep buying. Crazy deals but I live minimalist lifestyle and the shaving stuff is getting out of hand lately even though I only buy samples and own 4 razors and 3 brushes. Got almost all Stirling and M&M samples.
Thanks so much for watching man! As well as your continued support! Yeah, and what's even crazier about M&M is how you can get a free sample if you spend 25 or more. That with their free shipping AND their 30% off is just disgustingly amazing. I started taking more the sample route as well and man they add up quickly. If you have an addictive mindset this hobby can be bad news for some people. I gotta go on a serious buying freeze after this year. You're smart buy only having a few brushes and razors. If it works no need to upgrade. There's more software to explore in this hobby than hardware in my opinion. Have a great week!
Hi Aaron. Great shave. You're using two of my favorites. The amber aerolite is a nice brush and the slim adjustable is a great razor. I prefer it over the Fatboy too. I think it's a little more aggressive. Take care.
Hi Lee! Always great to see you stop by! Appreciate you watching! Nice choice with the Amber Aerolite and slim as go-to gear. I’m actually shocked at how much I’m enjoying the slim. I never expected to fall in love with a vintage razor like this. It’s a mighty fine shaver alright. Hope you have a great weekend!
Great shave, Aaron! I hope to one day get a slim like you have!...I have a '61 Fatboy and you're right when you said they're kinda bulky and not as nimble. I also really like gourmand scents...what's your favorite gourmand scented soap? Hope you and your Bride are doing well! As a side note, I have been meaning to ask what trail in CO you guy's hiked on your wedding day? I'm from CO and still live here and still have hundreds of trails I'd like to hike one day! In your wedding pick it looked like the trail went all the way up above tree line and to the tundra?..maybe? 🤔..anyway, it was really cool to see! And I'm sure you guy's will be hiking in beautiful country when you go to visit Patagonia next year!!!👍🎉...sorry for the long msg!!..lol..take care, my shaving comrade!
Hey Travis! Thanks so much for watching, as well as your positive feedback! Much appreciated brother! My buddy found my slim on eBay for like 22 bucks. I highly recommend it over the Fatboy. Fatboy isn’t bad, I just prefer the slimmer head. Glad to hear you’re also a gourmand fan! I’ve been enjoying Clown Fruit from PAA for a while. If you haven’t smelled it, it’s like a spicy cola type scent along with some burnt sugar. It’s great stuff. Also love “Ciderhouse 5” from PAA. That one is apple cider with some tobacco and wood. I also recently have been loving “st. James” from Murphy and McNeil. It’s got a very rich shortbread cookie scent to it with some citrus and oatmeal. It’s amazing. They have great sample sizes too if you ever wanted to check it out (with free U.S. shipping).
Thank you, we are doing awesome! We hiked the Lake Isabelle trail via the Long Lake trail head. It’s near Boulder in the Indian Peaks wilderness area. Highly recommend! It’s an easy 5 mile hike that I do believe goes slightly above tree line at the end when you reach the lake. Very happy you enjoyed our pics :)! And we look forward to Patagonia soon! I can’t wait to fill you in about it! Thanks again for your support man and enjoy the weekend!
@doubleashaves1885 that's a great find and price your buddy paid on the Gillette Slim! I'll have to keep an eye out for one that's reasonably priced like yours!👍 I haven't tried PAA's Clown Fruit yet or their Cider House 5, but I've seen a lot of folks on Instagram raving about those scents! Those both sound like they'd be right up my alley!
@doubleashaves1885 I also haven't sampled St. James from Murphey and McNiel yet, but I watched Ben on his RUclips Channel "Soap Thing" review it and it definitely sounds like it's a strong gourmand...and with your recommendation as well...I definitely need to get it!!😎 I have two Murphey and McNiel soaps in their Aon base and I'm very impressed with their performance 👍
Hi Aaron, Yep, I did some damage on Black Friday…. Murphy & McNeil The Abbey and Gotland, Tatara Nordochi Open Comb in Black Stainless, A&E’s new brand… Barbiere di Famiglia Limes di Sicilian, and some more goodies. I actually won the House of Mammoth Uitwaaien Raffle. That included the soap, splash, EDP, and a limited edition C&H matching brush. Think I’ll be busy! Great shave. Soap sounds great. Another artisan I have to try. Will see you soon. Best regards, Glenn
Hey Glenn! Thanks so much for stopping by to watch! Amazing Black Friday haul!! Those will certainly keep you busy for a while (and make for great content)! Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on them. Happy you also snagged some M&M! I just love what they have going on over. And their original scents are ridiculously amazing! Lucky man you are to have won that new Mammoth set!! Check out Apex Alchemy's site if you get a chance. They are very different and creative with their soap. I think you would enjoy their gourmand scents. Have a great weekend!

Another favorite gourmand is “captain Joe” from black ship grooming. It’s a coffee and rum scent with some leather. It’s amazing.
