Hey Joseph, thanks so much for that!! I appreciate it very much. Thanks for tuning in man. Looking forward to watching your video. Have a great rest of your week!
Hi Aaron. That was a great one pass shave. Cavendish is one of my favorites. Mine is a couple years old so the aftershave is still clear. I had no idea it changes color. You learn something new every day. Have a nice week. Take care.
Hey Lee! Hope all is well! I always appreciate your positivity and support on my videos. Very happy you are enjoying them. This shave went exceptionally well, I honestly did not expect that. Funny, I’ve heard a few others here say they’ve also had cavendish for many years. I guess it seems like a safe choice for a scent when you’re just getting into the hobby. Yeah it’s also happening with my Stirling barbershop which is around six years old, so expect to see the color changes around then. You have a great week as well!
The Peter’s Method is the Best! Rendered my bowl USELESS🤷🏼♂️🤣 I prefer it and like that, the energy of the brush is spent on the face versus in a bowl. Congrats on 1000.
Thanks so much for watching! Appreciate the kind words! Yeah, I did really have fun with Peter’s method here. It is very satisfying. I think it’s fun to switch things up from my usual bowl lathering. I can see why people prefer this method. I’ve never been a fan of adding water to soap tubs which is why I’m still on team bowl lather. I also like sending people soap samples. Just personal preference, but still definitely gonna be doing this method on my kill tubs. Hope you have a great weekend.
Congrats on the 1k sub milestone🎉👏🎉 With large soap collections (I have around 150) it's almost impossible to see an empty tub, so what I do is I allocate a "kill" soap that I use for half my shaves each week (normally the non-video shaves) and that way I can kill a few soaps each year. Heavy loads are good, no need to be frugal with large soap collections. Great one-pass shave Aaron, I have not been able to get a descent 1-pass shave WTG, I do get good 2-pass shaves though (WTG & ATG). Have a great week brother👌🤠👌
Hey Lawrie, thanks so much for watching! I really appreciate your feedback, I always enjoy hearing your thoughts on things. Smart idea to do your off video shaves with a kill soap, and then review different soaps for on camera. I like that method. Yeah man, couldn’t agree more on using a lot of soap. I’ve seen a few people shave with tiny loads before and I’m like “come on man!!! Don’t be afraid to use it up!!” We all have a lifetime of soap anyway. ATG would’ve made this a bbs shave, but one WTG definitely provided a nice serviceable shave. You have a great week as well my friend!
Thanks so much tuning in Carlitos! Appreciate the kind words man! Yeah, I’ve seen a lot of people here mention that cavendish was their first PAA purchase, and even first shave soap in general. It’s a classic for sure, you can’t go wrong. That’s awesome to hear you’ve been in the hobby since back then. I would’ve loved to be around in those days. Crazy how big the market has gotten. You have a great rest of your week!
Hi Aaron super 1 pass shave R41 is brilliant for me also normally a 1 pass for me does the job.Cavendish is really good as well not used mine for long time now hiding away with all my other soaps and creams in the den 😂 think a might now use it in my next shave.the Wilkinson sword blade is a good 1 also I use them often agree with my skin pretty well.have a great week 🙌🙂
Thanks so much for watching Michael! Happy to hear you also enjoy using the muhle r41. It’s truly a great razor. Yeah I can see how cavendish can get buried in the den since so many new soaps have been released since then. Mine got really buried too. But I love busting out the classics! You’re not kidding those Wilkinson swords are amazing. I think they are my new favorite blade. You have a great week as well!
Hey Aaron, Congratulations on reaching 1,000 subs. No small accomplishment. R41 did it’s job. Whiskers didn’t stand a chance. Exceptional lather too. Until next time.
Hi Doug. Thanks so much for the kind words and continued support on my videos. I appreciate that very much! R41 indeed did a fine job this time around. This Wilkinson sword may just be my new top blade. Don’t see them around much in other videos which is a shame. Enjoy your week, have a good one!
Believe it or not, they are also my first tubs (Cavendish & Seville) that they are almost empty 😮. Same tastes in scents then! 😊 Have a great week and congratulations for the 1000 subs, I was from the very first that I subscribed in this great channel!😊 I will upload video soon
Thanks so much for watching my friend! Always appreciate you stopping by! How funny is that, that we both had cavendish and Seville early on! We have great tastes indeed! I hope you have a great week as well, and I’ll be looking forward to your videos. Love to see those lathers 🔥🔥😎. Your continued support means a lot. Thank you for being here from day 1!
@@DoubleAshaves thank you as well for being such a kind and bright person 👍👌 I am so glad that you enjoy my lathers 😁 You are very welcome to comment as well in any of my videos to discuss there about shaving stuff. It's always a pleasure 👍
Congrats on 1000 subs! I’ve considered picking up a Muhle R41 for a few years. I may get one soon. Looks like a very efficient razor🪒. Nice face lather. After watching you I definitely will try more water. Sterling and PAA soaps seem to like the water.
Thanks so much for watching! I appreciate that a lot! I would say if you’re used to aggressive razors, or even mid aggressive, the r41 is definitely worth a try. You can get just the head from maggards if you want to save some money. My suggestion for a good lather is lots of soap with slow water additions. My observation from watching videos over the years is that most people don’t use enough soap. But most lathers would work fine, this is just how I prefer mine. Hope you have a great weekend.
Thanks so much Doug! I always appreciate your support and positivity! Hope you had a great thanksgiving as well! And a great upcoming holiday season! Cheers my friend!
Hi Mike, thanks so much for watching! I appreciate the kind and encouraging words. Nowadays I use a pretty decent amount of soap, which seems to me to be the biggest factor in getting a good lather. Lots of soap and slow water additions. Hope you have a great weekend!
Aaron, for your 2+ week growth you should consider the Henson AL-13 Medium (++) version. It is so efficient and so smooth especially with the Wilkinson Sword ⚔️ blade. If you try that combo, you should probably thank me after! 😂
Thanks so much for watching Abdul! I appreciate the recommendation. I’ve heard a lot of great things about Henson lately. I gotta look into that. Man you’re not kidding about the Wilkinson Sword blades. They are ridiculously good, I love shaving with them. Might be my new favorite blade. Thanks again for stopping by and hope you have a great rest of your week!
Thanks so much for watching!! Appreciate that! I’m happy you enjoyed the video! Totally agree about PAA. They definitely make our hobby much more fun and interesting with all of their creations. Hope you have a great weekend!
Thank you for watching brother! Yeah, I’ve been seeing that sale pop up. I was browsing it for a bit but didn’t snag anything. Buying for me is on a slow down until I move some Stuff out of the den or do some giveaways. Smart choice to snag some PAA sets on a discount since they can get pricey. Glad you also like Cav, classic choice and seems like a lot of people made it their first soap or PAA purchase. Easy to tell why cause you can’t go wrong with it. Great scent. Have a great week my friend.
Buffing is not cheating. To me, still counts as one pass. I got thick dark facial hair that has to be buffed 3-4 times with R41 to mow everything down. I watch so many lighter hair guys doing one stroke, and all hair is gone. Not happening here. One stroke will probably leave 60-70% of hair.
Thanks so much for watching man. Always appreciate you stopping by ! Yeah, I think you’re right. If your hair is coarse, you kind of have to do some amount of buffing. Maybe I’m crazy, but I honestly think ever since I started using aggressive razors my facial hair has gotten way more coarse over time. Nowadays mild razors barely do anything for me. Anyway, always a pleasure to hear your feedback. Have a great week!
Totally agree with you. Once u move to aggressive razor I no longer long to go back to mild razors even for daily shave. BTW my austere August razor is Parker Variant OC @@DoubleAshaves
Hi Shannon, thanks so much for watching and commenting. Appreciate the kind words! Yeah, red delicious is a very sweet scent. To me it smells like a fruity kids shampoo. It’s an uplifting scent. Just not my favorite. I think their “hot apple cider” scent replaced it which I enjoy much more. Hope you have a great weekend.
Hi Aaron, did you ever consider growing a goatee with mustache or just the mustache? You have the beard growth for it :) Will you grow one and see how it looks and then shave it?
Hi Chris, thanks so much for watching! I think it could be interesting for me to give a go at some point. I always preferred the look of myself clean shaven, but might switch things up in the future if the mood strikes. Thanks for the encouragement!! I think that could make for a fun video. Anyway, hope you have a great weekend!
@@seanstapelfeld Thanks for watching Sean! Yeah I hear you. That’s why lately I’ve been going the soap sample route instead of buying a whole tub that I know I’ll never get through. Most artisan soap makers (and maggard razors) luckily offer all their stuff in sample size. It’s helpful if you’re like me, constantly wanting to try out new scents. Hope you have a great rest of your week!
