For $1,000, I would expect the Chanel box to contain, cosmetics, various perfume samples, a vintage Chanel perfume bottle, some 14k gold plated Chanel jewelry, and some scented candles of their other fragrances. THAT would have been worth it. I would have been so embarrassed to have presented that box of dollar store clearance items to a loved one as a gift. Thank you for doing this so we don't get taken advantage of by these retailers. And thank you for the laughter, you ladies are wonderful!

As I’ve gotten older, I’ve also come to the same realization Mia! I used to think luxury meant high quality but it’s just branding now. I think it used to be high quality and some designers are but majority is all show. Thanks Mia for always being so real!!!
Quality doesn't exist anymore. It's all smoke and mirrors now. You either have to DIY or buy vintage if quality is it one seeks. Everything is pretty much made to be disposable these days, so that consumers must keep coming back.
Yeah the original designers aren't around anymore to make things good and the cooperations are keeping it going now
at this point,the true luxury is handmade and artisan made. small mom and pop gold shops > jewelry brands, local grown homemade food > premade frozen food, tailored custom clothing > big name "designer" brands. thats where to spend your money and where true value lies.
I love this dynamic so much. I really miss my Mom; the holidays are hard. I watched half the video, then went to bed, and I had a dream with her! We were packing (I’m about to move, so apropos!) and just talking and catching up. It was a really nice dream.
Only when I came back to the video did I realize, seeing this and thinking about my mom and how she’d react with me before bed probably prompted me to have that dream.

The miniature Chanel bottle... 30 years ago, I collected miniature perfume bottles to put on my dresser, I had about 50. Maybe the most I paid for one of these miniatures was in the $15.99 price range. Most perfume companies had miniatures of their famous perfumes.

Honestly when companies scam buyers it makes me not want to buy anything from them. It’s a time to be generous to customers because it’s an exciting time in their lives and it’s a way to thank their customers. It’s completely sad that a company would scam customers like that and it speaks volumes about their ethics 😢

Honestly, with the tea segment, it feels a little like a talk show cooking segment or QVC that plays in the background when you're at home and sick from school. It's honestly really sweet and enjoyable to watch and listen to you and your mom interact, so im glad you left it in. It's nice background sound :)

That chanel calendar had me FUMING. Aside from those full sized pieces, it's all stuff you'd see in "luxury" christmas crackers and NOTHING more. Someone worked real hard to make sure they delivered NOTHING.

Luxury brands are supposed to deliver quality they’re expensive for a reason Chanel is expensive because it’s “Chanel” the name and only the name. It used to be good don’t get me wrong.

Designer label clothing USED to be good. I had a great aunt who had a high paying job that travelled (in the 60s-00s), and she always bought certain pieces designer-only. But when I visited her a few years ago, she had stopped. She said there was no real difference any more, and that designer labels weren't worth the money - except for perfume. She always insisted that every woman should have 1 expensive, specialty perfume that she wears for special events... she found me my specialty perfume
